Introduction to Investing
Welcome! Through this blog, I hope to provide investing advice to those who, like me years ago, know virtually nothing (or have minimal knowledge) about investing intelligently in securities. As Warren Buffett (arguably the greatest investor of all time) noted in the preface to Benjamin Graham’s The Intelligent Investor, becoming a successful investor “does not require a stratospheric IQ, unusual business insights, or inside information. What’s needed is a sound intellectual framework for making decisions and the ability to keep emotions from corroding that framework.” Graham’s masterpiece, The Intelligent Investor, is a perfect starting point for anyone interested in developing this “intellectual framework” for making wise investment decisions. I will expound upon Graham’s principals, as well as those of numerous other successful investors, in this blog.
Please note that I am not a broker, nor am I affiliated with any agency that provides financial advice. I am not seeking clientele. I am, instead, an attorney who developed a strong interest in the stock market after speaking at length with a client that profited handsomely from the wisdom of Buffett and Graham. Significantly, I have found that the great majority of successful investors share one common trait: they are voracious readers. I greatly look forward to journeying with you as I attempt to impart wisdom from the wonderful books that have made the stock market not only less imposing, but utterly fascinating and enchanting in the opportunities it presents.
