The middle seasons Athena/Bobby/Michael dynamic is just the funniest relationship imaginable.

Athena can’t turn around without Bobby and Michael robbing a bank, organising a heist on the neighbours, or smashing up her house.

Michael has to constantly deal with their kinky Captain/Sergeant shtick, and them traumatising the kids with roleplay bullshit.

Bobby arrives at a fire scene, and his wife and her ex are immediately there for no apparent reason.

Athena’s husbands have unionised and Bobby is the third in a marriage that’s already over and Michael’s best friends are his ex-wife and her new husband.

Unparalleled.

eddie tells buck he is thinking about moving, and buck is supportive! for a moment, eddie can take a breath because he doesn't feel so alone.

but then buck is sabotaging him and calling him an abandoner and telling his secrets to their captain. all of a sudden, eddie feels even more alone than he ever has because he has been so used to buck being right by his side for the past 7 years. but now buck is angry and pushing him away. is this how eddie loses his best friend?

so eddie panics because he knows he is about to be isolated from the life he built in LA. and he's losing that glint of hope that maybe he didn't have to do it alone this time.

and here's buck at his door, and eddie has so much to do. it feels like he is running out of time. buck is smiling while eddie yells because he is frustrated and angry at the situation and sad, so very sad. but buck is still smiling.

and eddie feels like an overfilled balloon with too much helium, seconds away from bursting, when buck says he will take over eddie's lease. he'll give up his home. to do this for eddie. and christopher too. and suddenly all the fear and anger melt out of eddie's body, but he is still so sad because... only buck. buck is the only person in the world who has ever chosen eddie over and over again, he thinks, but still, eddie can't stay. and so he cries. and buck jokes. now eddie can go be with christopher, but he knows that he will never get this lucky again. there will never be someone like buck in his life again. and so he hugs him so tight, and he wishes he never had to let go. oh how he wishes he didn't have to choose.

correctly tagging your fic allows readers who DON’T want to read things like major character death, gore, mpreg or whatever may be their squick to filter your fic out from the main ship/fandom tag. not including the correct tags on your fic is harmful to readers and i’m tired of pretending it’s not.
