Gloves in the Frozen Franchise

I know this has been discussed to death in regards to Frozen 1, with gloves being used to conceal, whether it’s ice powers:

I know I’m probably late to the party (as usual), but I thought that was a neat little thematic callback to our favorite villain from F1. Runeard pulling on his gloves as he plots treachery against the Northuldra.

Elsa’s theme (F2) - all occurrences

This is Elsa’s theme. (I have tweaked the audio so the music is louder than the dialogue) Video quality is 25% to reduce file size. 

In the transcription, the red section is the most recognisable part of the tune (we can call it section A), though the theme is actually much longer (we can call the rest section B)

6 Occurences: (all track references to Disc 2 of Deluxe soundtrack)

1) During Elsa’s fight with Gale in the tornado, and the ice memories start appearing. The theme (section A) is played by lush strings here. Section B is played quietly by the flute. Track 6, “Wind”. 

2) When Elsa is talking to Honeymaren, in a very sweet, soft variation that is primarily played by the harp. Track 7, “Iduna’s Scarf”.

3) Elsa’s fight with the Nokk in the Dark sea (this genius piece of music deserves a whole post on its own!) Section A features twice, then in the final triumphant one, we hear the whole theme. Which then flows into Show Yourself. Oh my heart… Track 12, “Dark Sea”. 

4) In Ahtohallan, as Elsa experiences the ice memories. The whole theme is heard, against the background of beautiful piano arpeggios. The theme becomes more solemn as the scene progresses to reveal Runeard’s treachery. Track 13, “Ghosts of Arendelle Past”. 

5) When Anna says “my sister gave her life for the truth”. Beautiful reference. Section A only. Track 16, “The Flood”. 

6) The most heroic (heroine-ic?) version of section A is heard when Elsa rides down the tidal wave, outruns it and saves Arendelle. (I still tear) Section B finishes off the last occurrence of this lovely theme. Track 16, “The Flood”.
