WIP: Colonial Mansions

I got a bit overwhelmed by European architecture, so I decided to recreate one of my favorite landmarks in a neighboring city, the Episcopal Palace:

Colonial architecture is a bit similar to European architecture with the difference that, since the New World was hotter, buildings had more balconies. Also, they are more colorful, using reds, light blues, greens, yellows, pinks… you name it, instead of the usual white and light brown of European architecture.

Lyndhurst Mansion

How did I spend my Halloween? I stayed all day home building a replica of the Lyndhurst Manor in New York. I finished the exterior and started the interior. Sadly, the game crashed. I don’t think I’ll build the interior anytime soon :(

The Hamiltons

Augustus Hamilton, a steel businessman, bought a big house that he later demolished to build a new one for his wife, Clotilda Hamilton.

Built between 1875 and 1876, Hamilton House was Mrs. Hamilton’s birthday present, and they hosted a housewarming party that met the house’s high standards.

Hamilton House

Hey everyone. I wanted to share some pictures of my latest builds, still incomplete: Hamilton House. Built in a mountainous area in 1909, this Georgian style mansion enjoys great views.

I really don’t like being this person, because it stresses me out like you wouldn’t believe. But COVID has really been a thorn in my side all year, and continues to kick me down every time I try to get back up.

As I spent the day packing and doing all the other administrative things necessary to move forward, I came to the realisation that my fundraising efforts have not been as positive as I would hope it to be. As I currently stand now, I have enough to get me to Florence, but not nearly enough to survive once I arrive. You can imagine that stress that ensues with that knowledge.

I refuse to allow COVID to take this incredible opportunity away from me, and with my fundraiser still up for a while longer, I figured I would just share it here, in the hopes that some of you may be able to help!

We are all suffering during these difficult times, but any donation would be extremely helpful to me! Or even if you were to reblog this post, I would be so immensely grateful!
