What if he literally did time travel. If he and Philip came as orphans to gravesfield, maybe they had actually time traveled through the boiling isles timepools? Philip would have been young, potentially quite young if they had then wandered from town to town for a while, so he might not have remembered the experience well enough to understand what happened. That or he doesn't care. Calebs just like, well, guess we gotta survive here. Philip mainly grows up there while Caleb tries to make the best of it, giving excuses as to what happened. (Maybe they had been born in the 1700s 1800s time.) Philip would still get the same teachings. Caleb could fool Philip that they had came from a rich family and thats why things were so different and higher tech. I should research the differences between the 1600s and 1700s-1800s. Philip might have some confusion but Caleb's like, no! We just moved and uh, had to travel through a scary forest to get to the towns, that's all. You're probably just remembering dreams and false memories. Maybe he realizes there was something that happened in the past when he later sees the isles, but he probably thinks they just went through and came back, creating more fuel for a possibility to return to the human realm (probably to get more hunters too). He might think that the past encounter with the realm "began his brothers corruption." But that he, Philip, was still strong enough. I could go on for ages about this. But hey, this is cool. I think he would have the X model though, and maybe change it to the H or the Y later in the isles. If the H model works for work too though, then I guess that's probably what he'd have. I just like the look of X.

There is an even greater unsolved mystery in Gravesfield and it's been at the back of my mind for some time...

How the heck did Caleb or whoever invent suspenders a century before their debut and also a century before overalls?

Pants before were fitted properly... Called Breeches. Just take a look at Puritan clothing and of fashion in the era... It wasn't until the 1700/1800s that suspenders came to be in France (conflicting historical data) and they were worn to be covered. (Suspenders or "braces" being exposed to the public was seen as improper even in the 1900s!)

Moreover, this is an even more important question: Is Caleb an H, X, or Y back sorta suspender guy?

The H back is the earliest suspender type. The X was for those who did more laborious work as it offered more support. The Y was used for formal attire.

X and H are pretty much the same in functionality. Since Caleb's design communicates a more laborious sort of lifestyle, H or X would be most likely (but Caleb having suspenders in the 1600s is quite the paradox. The Titan must've willed it, surely, haha.)

So, headcanon-wise, I'm going with H for symbolic reasons. H is for Hunter. But honestly, who's to say our fashion-forward Caleb didn't create suspenders in multiple styles and was just out here parading them all?

Or who knows, maybe he's a wild-child and he has two straps of fabric parallel without additional support. Does one call this the Double Little L?

Anyway, I didn't realize there was so much historical information about suspenders to peruse, and for some reason, I remember reading an article or seeing a post about how Caleb and Philip wearing one strapped suspenders as kids was supposed to mean something about their age-- but I can't find it, nor can I find any articles online about it... If you remember, please let me know!

I LOVE THIS AND I AM SO EXCITED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAQ

1.5 months in and I still have yet to make a title for this! I'll probably call it "Wittebros" for now I guess.

Back in April, shortly after The Owl House ended, I randomly felt a sudden dissatisfaction (Not the crew's fault!) with how little we got about the Wittebanes' backstories. The emotional depth, the characters, the unanswered questions about the people of Gravesfield, Evelyn, Philips' journey to the Boiling Isles.

I thought "why not?", and wrote down a rough timeline, some characters, and a few short scenes, just to get it out of my system. 6 weeks in, it's still not out of my system, and I've added a visual component to boot.

I was never really a good artist in school, but last year I decided to learn the basics, and now I've started this comic as an exercise in art and storytelling. What is currently driving this forward is a desire to see this story told, and hopefully seeing myself improve.

With that, I would love to hear some feedback. I still consider myself a beginner, and while I do think that I have improved over the course of 9 pages, I can also see that I have a long way to go.

My current goal is releasing roughly 3 pages a fortnight, but that may increase whenever semester holidays come around.

I hope you all enjoy this, and hopefully I'll update this soon.

“I need to talk to you!” Arakate pleaded with her wielder, but stubborn as ever, Philip jammed his hands over his ears in desperation.

Flapjack couldn't find Cat/Eve and got lost in the woods (the new inflicted wound on the eye not helping) where the bat queen offered her help. He would later come to find out that Caleb is no more.

Wittelore from the Post-Hoot

The old shack belonged to Caleb and Philip. Eda arrived through the portal door and slowly began fixing it up over the 30 or so years. When she saw it, it was in rough shape.

There were storyboards with graves in the basement of the old shack. 1600s graves... ooooh who did they belong to? It wasn't that important to the story.

Evelyn disguised herself as a human. Dana said Caleb and Evelyn meeting and their relationship was platonic. "Oh hey, a human who isn't as horrible as the others!" It became romantic. They were a sweet couple. Soft. They're akin to two dog owners walking by and becoming friends (but with birds!) Things were great for a short bit.

Papa Titan's name is Papa Titan. His real name is impossible to pronounce.

The portal door is made with Papa Titan's eye. Hooty-hole theory is confirmed???

Flapjack does not have Evelyn's spirit or is Evelyn. Flapjack is his own bird.

The Clawthornes and Hunter do not know about their connection as Clawthornes. Evelyn being a Clawthorne was confirmed by the phrasing: "Eda and Hunter don't know."

Wittebane fandom: Can I propose something crazy?

Ok, so Watching and Dreaming was great, but despite knowing in my heart we weren't going to get the wittebane story I wanted i still cant help but feel kinda disappointed that we got NOTHING. But there's so many talented artists and animators in our little corner of the fandom. Any chance we could band together and make a fan episode focusing on their story? Probably an animatic. Maybe reply or reach out if you may be interested in being involved?

Hope everyone likes the new direction for the comic! Changing the name to Pip in the multiverse! All plot will now be replaced by cameos and vaguely threatening platitudes!

Did I do prank right? Am I an april fool? It would probably make more sense for me to just draw regular fanart for other AUs and artists i like, but this seemed more fun! I wanted even more cameos but ran out of time!

So I finished painting it! I decided making the hair white would have it stand out too much, but making it black would have it blend with the mostly black skin, so I went for this design. The greys are like how the collectors different shades on each side of his face are.

This is my fanart of an au of mine where Caleb gets trapped in a disc just like the collector, and this is his face of that form. Philip did it to "keep him safe", or at least keeps him separated from Evelyn using this.

Below is a reference photo of the collectors shadow form, though I used many showings of shadow collector to design this Caleb. Thank you to all who recommended which color would work best! Just decided it might work better.

What if Caleb got trapped in a collector disc by Philip? Would he be able to talk to the collector? Also, Philip would probably try several ways to "purify" him. I will say more about this au later.

I sculpted a Caleb (his face specifically) in an AU of mine. Basically this is Caleb if he was trapped in a collector disc. I will paint it, just thought I'd show the WIP. The indents will be white and the base skin will be black. I already kind of know which way I'm going due to some recent feedback but...
