The Phytanthrope Community Survey is collecting data on phytanthropes’ experiences and understandings of themselves and their community. The survey asks questions about participants’ plant-related kintypes, how they personally think of the definition of the word phytanthrope, and about emotions such as dysphoria. This survey takes about 10 minutes, depending on how much you put in write-in questions. This survey is open to anyone identifies with the label “phytanthrope” or other synonyms with that word. Your body MUST be age 18 or older to participate in this survey. One response per physical body, please.
>>> SURVEY LINK <<<
This survey will close August 1st, 2025. We will collect data from the survey, which we will publish online afterwards, use for research purposes may be presented as part of a panel for an online convention (Othercon 2025). Any identifying information that participants submit will be made anonymous or removed entirely. This survey is part of a series of surveys by House of Chimeras (@liongoatsnake), Orion Scribner (@frameacloud), and Page Shepard (@who-is-page). Theta Delta VS The Deathly Hallows
The symbol of the Deathly Hallows focus in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and the Theta Delta as used in therian community are not related in any way.  They are different symbols. Their visual similarities are coincidence.
Tumblr media
The Theta-Delta is made up on two Greek letters: Theta and Delta. (The Theta is a circle with a dash, while the delta appears as a triangle for those not familiar with the Greek alphabet.) Traditionally, these letters are interwoven together in almost all images of the Theta Delta. The letters are meant to symbolize things relating to therianthropy: the Theta is the Greek equivalent to the letter T which is the first letter in the word “therianthropy” plus it has the symbolism to mean the soul in some belief systems; while the delta is famous for its symbol use in Mathematics to represent change and so symbolizing the shifts so common among therians.
The Deathly Hallows is a symbol used within in Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling to represent the general shapes of the three Deathly Hallows: The vertical line represents the Elder Wand, the circle represents the Resurrection Stone and the triangle represents the Invisibility Cloak.
They might look similar but the meaning for them are not related in any way.
Also, the Theta Delta was created years before the symbol for the Deathly Hallows was made public so no one can claim the creator of the Theta Detla was just a Harry Potter fan or too transpiration from the Deadly Hallows symbol. The Theta Delta was created sometime in 2003, on the Werelist out of a huge debate thread trying to decide on a symbol for therianthropy. The Theta-Delta gained popularity of all the symbols created from the discussion and has been used ever since. [1] Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling was originally published on July 21, 2007.[2]

Poison list
While it's important to approach writing with creativity and imagination, it's crucial to prioritize responsible and ethical storytelling. That being said, if you're looking for information on poisons for the purpose of writing fiction, it's essential to handle the subject matter with care and accuracy. Here is a list of some common poisons that you can use in your stories:
Hemlock: Hemlock is a highly poisonous plant that has been used as a poison in various works of literature. It can cause paralysis and respiratory failure.
Arsenic: Arsenic is a toxic element that has been historically used as a poison. It can be lethal in high doses and can cause symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, and organ failure.
Cyanide: Cyanide is a fast-acting poison that affects the body's ability to use oxygen. It can cause rapid loss of consciousness and cardiac arrest.
Nightshade: Nightshade plants, such as Belladonna or Deadly Nightshade, contain toxic compounds that can cause hallucinations, respiratory distress, and even death.
Ricin: Ricin is a potent poison derived from the castor bean plant. It can cause organ failure and has been used as a plot device in various fictional works.
Strychnine: Strychnine is a highly toxic alkaloid that affects the nervous system, leading to muscle spasms, convulsions, and respiratory failure.
Snake Venom: Various snake venoms can be used in fiction as deadly poisons. Different snake species have different types of venom, each with its own effects on the body.
Belladonna: Also known as Deadly Nightshade, Belladonna contains tropane alkaloids such as atropine and scopolamine. Ingesting or even touching the plant can lead to symptoms like blurred vision, hallucinations, dizziness, and an increased heart rate.
Digitalis: Digitalis, derived from the foxglove plant, contains cardiac glycosides. It has been historically used to treat heart conditions, but in high doses, it can be toxic. Overdosing on digitalis can cause irregular heart rhythms, nausea, vomiting, and visual disturbances.
Lead: Lead poisoning, often resulting from the ingestion or inhalation of lead-based substances, has been a concern throughout history. Lead is a heavy metal that can affect the nervous system, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, cognitive impairment, anemia, and developmental issues, particularly in children.
Mercury: Mercury is a toxic heavy metal that has been used in various forms throughout history. Ingesting or inhaling mercury vapors can lead to mercury poisoning, causing symptoms like neurological impairment, kidney damage, respiratory issues, and gastrointestinal problems.
Aconite: Also known as Wolfsbane or Monkshood, aconite is a highly toxic plant. Its roots and leaves contain aconitine alkaloids, which can affect the heart and nervous system. Ingesting aconite can lead to symptoms like numbness, tingling, paralysis, cardiac arrhythmias, and respiratory failure.
Thallium: Thallium is a toxic heavy metal that can cause severe poisoning. It has been used as a poison due to its tastelessness and ability to mimic other substances. Thallium poisoning can lead to symptoms like hair loss, neurological issues, gastrointestinal disturbances, and damage to the kidneys and liver.
When incorporating poisons into your writing, it is essential to research and accurately portray the effects and symptoms associated with them. Additionally, be mindful of the potential impact your writing may have on readers and the importance of providing appropriate context and warnings if necessary.

Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!
Every piece of classic literature: Hi. It's me. The bland everyman whose only purpose is to tell you this story. I have no actual personality. Here's the story of the time I encountered the worst people I ever met in my life. But first, ten pages of description about the place in which I met them.

THE ENTIRE WEST IS BEING PUT UP FOR SALE AND I AM BEGGING YOU TO CALL YOUR SENATORS
Tumblr media
Trump’s budget bill has many, many things in it, but buried amongst it is the MILLIONS OF ACRES OF PUBLIC LAND FOR SALE.
This is the entirety of the Arizona state forests, the entire Cascades mountain range. Swathes of pristine desert around the national parks in Utah. On the doorstep of Jackson Hole.
THIS BILL IS BIG, BUT IT CAN BE AMENDED AND ABSOLUTELY MUST NOT PASS AS IS please.
If you have ever enjoyed the wilderness, we stand to lose it all forever.
CALLING your senators - NOT JUST IN THE WEST. ALL SENATORS, is CRUCIAL.
Outdoor alliance has a great resource for reaching out.
I don’t have a huge following but please, everywhere I have ever loved, the forests I grew up playing in, the land I got married on, is all at risk and I am begging.
