Shooting Stars - Diavolo

“Y/N.”

The voice was soft but still recognizable from your place leaning against the balcony rail. You turned to face him after a moment or two and caught the smile brightening his face.

“You seem lonely out here.”

He walked up next to you, looking up to the sky. The silence was comfortable until you pointed out the light streaking across the sky. “Dia, look!”

“What is it?” He seemed confused at it and you realized he had never seen a shooting star before. Or possibly had never even heard of them.

“Make a wish first, I’ll explain it later.” He still had the look of confusion on his face but did as you said before looking down at you. “It’s a shooting star. Human traditions say that wishing on one means your wish comes true.”

“Do you tell anyone about it?”

“You can but that means it won’t come true.”

He laid his arms on the railing next to you before reaching over to carefully take your hand. Deep in thought, presumably if it was worth telling you the wish or not. It seems he decided to keep it a secret before he spoke again.

“Did you make a wish?”

You looked down at where your hands were entwined with a gentle smile.

“I didn’t need to.”

Party

“Rin?” Your voice was quiet and you weren’t really sure where Suna had run off to to begin with. He had brought you to a party in the Miya twins’ place and just left without saying anything. Real jerk move but you didn’t usually mind, the other teammates were cool enough. You were friendly with Kita and Atsumu but it was impossible to see any of them either in the poorly lit lounge with a huge amount of people in there.

“What are you doing here all alone? Don’t you know it isn’t safe?”

You turned to the sound of the voice, not recognizing it and hoping it was just one of the boys you interacted with less often. Nope. You didn’t know who they were in the slightest. “Thanks but I can take care of myself just fine. Excuse me.” You pushed past him, feeling whoever it was grab your arm as you did.

“Oh but we were having such a fun conversation.”

You tugged your arm, trying to get it out of his grip. “No we weren’t, I was trying to find my friends.”

“At least let me get you a drink.”

“No thanks.” You were sick of trying to dodge his questions, looking back at some of the others in the room and scanning for a sight of Suna, Atsumu, anyone you even vaguely recognized.

“Aw come on-”

“I think you heard them the first time.” Rin. His voice was cold and even you were slightly scared despite knowing he was a softie at heart. “Don’t you have someone more in your league to talk to? I don’t think for a second you're worth them spending another word on you.” The venom in his words were clear and he clutched tighter on to your hand. You were safer behind him than you were before but that didn’t mean he didn’t want to put more distance between them.

“Come on doll, I think I’ve let you get into enough trouble here today.” He turned away from the now stuttering man, pulling you through the dense crowd. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, yeah.”

“Good, couldn’t have my pretty baby getting themselves hurt could we?”

Eyes Blue

Eyes blue like the Atlantic

The lyrics were stuck in his head, probably from Yamaguchi having hummed the melody of the song earlier while they were walking to school. It was such a simple line but honestly he couldn’t really imagine what they were referring to. He didn’t think he had ever met someone with such bright eyes and he was sure he would remember that.

Well, that is until today. When the Nekoma team had came to practice. He noticed their manager, carefree and bubbly, meeting up with their newest one. It was an interesting sight for sure. They seemed so different.

He didn’t want to get caught staring though. Instead he knelt down to tighten his laces until he heard their voices getting closer.

“And that one is Tsukki.”

He glanced up at that, not quite meeting the gaze of the manager he had spotted from across the gym before muttering a hello. You seemed shyer up close but it was oddly endearing. He was too focused on everything else that he didn’t hear what Kuroo had said to you to make you laugh like that, eyes brightening in a way that had his heart skipping.

And I’m going down like the Titanic

You held out a hand towards him, mainly to help him up from his position and he took that chance to actually look at your face. You were cute, much cuter up close.

Her cheeks flushed when you made eye contact with him, offering a small smile in return. He was taller than you expected, still towering over her.

Eyes amber, warm and dramatic

He had such a soft face compared to the scathing remarks he had snapped out to his teammates earlier today. You weren’t really sure what drew you into him from the start but you really weren't complaining.

His hand was warm and you quickly pulled back as if you were burned. He seemed just as surprised as you were until you apologized quickly. “I’m so sorry! I just meant to help you up and got distracted and realized I didn’t let go.”

“It’s alright.” He brushed off your apologies, letting his hand fall back down to his side.

“I’m pretty used to Kuroo over there dragging me around too so that’s all on me.” The grin hadn’t seemed to leave your face and his cheeks and neck started feeling warmer much quicker than he wanted. “Anyway nice to meet you! I’ll see you around.” You waved a goodbye, following your team back to their side of the gym.

He waved, catching your last glance back and seeing your face turn a bright shade of red.

Colors

Suga’s smile lit up any space he was in. Yellow hues colored the area around him and it bled into your mind. You didn’t remember at all what you said to make him grin like that but you wanted to. What you wouldn’t give to see it again.

Not that his smiles were hard to come by. He was giddy anytime you were near. Daichi had even taken notice, calling him almost as bad as Noya and Tanaka were around Kiyoko.

He didn’t think he was that bad though. Especially since the person he was happiest around happened to be his significant other and not just the team’s hot manager (although you were that too). You were also more than that to him.

And he was more than just another player to you.

You had been talking to someone from Nekoma, one of the less active on the court players and he couldn’t place a name. He was on the other side of the gym from you but he could still see you were far too entertained with your conversations to notice him watching you.

If he was yellow, you were red. Fiery and bright, adventurous and passionate. Everything he had first fallen in love with you for. Well, most of it at least. You were more than just that. Softer than you let people think.

But that’s okay. He was willing to wait for you to open up to him completely.

And you did, eventually. Most people do around Suga. That’s just the type of person he is. He feels like home to a lot of people and you were no exception. People said he was the Karasuno team’s mom and, well, one look at him and they’d be right. He was the one cheering them up in the middle of a game whether he was playing or on the sidelines.

If you were red and he was yellow, together they made orange. Balanced, warm and lighting up a room together.
