The air was thick with smoke. All she could hear… was screams and gunfire.
Pyrrha’s eyes shot open as she remembered what happened. She felt her chest, where the woman in the red dress shot her. There was no arrow, no blood, no scar. She looked around people were running and screaming. She heard loud footsteps behind her as what felt like a gun barrel pressed into her head.
“Get up, human!” said the deep, odd sounding voice. “Slowly. Keep your hands where I can see them.”
Pyrrha, slowly and calmly rose to her feet, her hands raised. She turned to see a strange looking man. He was bald and had four eyes, with nothing but slits where an actual nose would be. She looked around for anything she could use as a weapon.
“You’re not bad looking, human,” the man said. “You should fetch a good price.”
Clearly, this “man” was going to try to capture and sell her or something. Quickly she scanned the area for anything metal. She saw a knife on the ground behind him. She gestured, ever so subtly, and the knife flew through the air, embedding itself in the back of the man’s head. The man crumpled to the ground, a look of shock on his face. Pyrrha quickly grabbed his rifle and got into cover.
There were bodies everywhere. Men, women, and children. She quickly studied the rifle. It seemed simple enough to use; she could sense a large block of metal where the magazine would be. Thinking fast, she fired off a few test rounds, to get a feel for the gun. Then, she ran out, looking for other people. Any time she ran into anyone with four separate eyes, she fired; no hesitation, no regret. She’d failed at Beacon Tower, she would not fail here.
A group of people were hiding out in what seemed to be a small cafe. “Are any of you hurt?” she asked the older, red haired woman. She shook her head. “What is your name?”
“My name is Hannah. Hannah Shepard. They took Jane,” the woman cried. ”My daughter! Can you find her?”
Pyrrha nodded, “I’ll do everything I can,” she said. “But I need to know, who are those men?”
Hannah took on a disgusted expression. “Batarian raiders,” she spat. “They’re slavers.”
Pyrrha nodded, having a somewhat better understanding of the situation. She ran back into the streets, firing at any Batarians she came across. Any humans she ran into were told to go to the cafe for safety. She tried to focus her Semblance into a polarity field surrounding her body, to try and keep from getting shot.
“Human! Drop your g-aah!” the Batarian dropped, a metal pylon impaled in his chest.
Pyrrha kept moving. Soon, she could her the roar of engines and the thunder of large gun turrets, and she encountered fewer and fewer Batarians until all she saw were bodies. She magnetized her gun to her back and started checking buildings for survivors. Anyone who was injured, she would help how she could. She kept an eye out for Jane. One building she came across was collapsed. Focussing her Semblance, she carefully shifted the wreckage aside. Inside, was a young woman, about her age, with red hair. She lay still, unmoving, her green staring off at nothing. Pyrrha carefully lifted the body, and carried her back to the cafe, to her mother.
In the cafe, Hannah Shepard dissolved into tears at the sight of her daughter. The others with her thanked Pyrrha for her help. As exhaustion set in and adrenaline wore off, Pyrrha staggered over to a booth and collapsed, fast asleep.
What I’d like to see in Endgame’s Post Credit Scene
The camera focuses on the smoldering Infinity Gauntlet on the ground. We here heavy footsteps and a metal gloved hand picks it up, turning it over.
We hear an Eastern European accented voice mutter, "Pathetic," as they toss the glove aside. The camera pans up to show a steel masked face with glowing eyes as Victor Von Doom walks away; his green cloak billowing in his wake.
I was thinking about the Bees vs Adam fight and had a thought. What if Yang finally fully uses her semblance again? Like hair on fire mode. But not like she used to, not a Berserk mode for a final assault. What if she's calm, focused, and tactical, like normal? I think that would be amazing growth.
Anon, that is the dream. I want so bad for her to finally be able to use her semblance again (it’s been so long now!) and what a perfect time for her to really show how much she has grown than in the rematch she has wanted for so long.
Might I introduce you to TheOddCatLady95 on AO3. They wrote a series of short stories where Cinder is a DM, Neo has an electronic voice box, and Ruby won't stop derailing the campaign.
AU where teams RWBY & JNPR play D&D in their free time.
