after how they handled it in V9, 'boba' restored my faith in how they're handling ruby's arc and especially her friends response to it. yang acknowledging the role she played in ruby not feeling like she could talk to them, that she wasn't really there for ruby in a way that ruby needed her to, making it clear that she is there for her now and that there's no going back to the team rwby that was, ruby acknowledging that she still doesn't really know how to ask for help, the code word...
it's all good stuff. very similar to the discussion yang and weiss had in V5, which is a good thing ✌
Episodes 3 and 4 are now listed. Well these certainly are a surprise. Remember these will be free for everyone they watch. The site just seems to mark everything unreleased as being first only.

i love the little xiao long-rose family tidbit about tai, yang, and ruby going to a boba shop after school once a month (that then became a twice a week thing bc frankly, if ruby's reaction to it is anything to go off of, tai's a pushover and couldn't say 'no'.) that now that yang and ruby are in one their dad's absence is noticeable enough for yang to bring up, like.
it was their thing. and now he's not there when all of vale and seemingly even patch has evacuated and it's askfhksjdgghkjadfgh
You know as someone who has spent the last year talking about how Ruby and Yang (and by extension, WE the audience) don't actually know NEARLY enough about their family history as they/we have long assumed thanks to Tai and Qrow being SUPREMELY unreliable narrators...
part one of a thing abt weiss being overwhelmed in vacuo, and her partner ruby rose is here to save the day!! idk when i'll get the next bit done but stay tuned i guess!! (◕ᴗ◕✿)
The new rwby short reminded me of one of my favourite aspects of team rwby. Which is that it starts with Weiss and Blake being two traumatised teens with dark backstories who meet Ruby and Yang who are like wow! You guys seem to have a lot of baggage and we'd like to help with that. We're just normal sisters but we'll do our best :D
And then cut to 9 seasons later when Weiss and Blake have conquered their demons, reconnected with their families and are slowly healing meanwhile every small drip of lore we get about Ruby and Yang's family feels like this
See, it sucks because Ruby being a celebrity is so fun to me, but I know it’s only worse for her in terms of how much pressure she’s gonna feel to constantly be a happy face carrying every burden. That’s why Yang promising not to make Ruby carry everything herself anymore means so much.
