Gonna talk about a Random Adamsapple AU idea I've had for quite a while.

I know the idea of a Beauty and the Beast AU is not a novel idea but instead of being based off the actual story, it's based off a Tumblr post I saw a million years ago that is lost to time. (aka I can't find it and don't know how to find it)

Adam as, well, Prince Adam

Charlie as Belle

And Lucifer as Maurice/Belle's dad

The post I saw all that time ago was about Maurice refusing to let his daughter stay and willingly being the Beast's prisoner himself. And like the dynamic is completely different than the original story.

But Adam being a rude little shit to an enchantress and being trapped as a Beast (which I have plenty of qualms with on principle but I won't get into that here)

Charlie was wandering the woods one day and found Roses growing in Winter, and wanting to show her Dad the miracle, plucks one. Of course Adam is NOT happy, he cultivated those Himself because he's still a Gardener okay. So Charlie gets imprisoned and Lucifer finds out and goes to rescue his daughter. He trades his life for hers in a heartbeat and though Adam is reluctant, he eventually agrees.

Lucifer is fascinated and delighted by all the living furniture of the castle. As an Inventor, he knows this is Magic, but he's still so interested in how everything works. Do they still need to eat? How do they eat? If they don't, is it simply magic that's sustaining them? And he is in awe of the library. While he's less interested in the fictional stories therewithin, he eats up all the reference books and any and everything with blueprints and schematics.

The servants like him. While he does treat them as oddities in certain ways, this is the first time that they ever felt like someone genuinely was Interested in them and wants to get to know them. How they work and as people. He's not gentle and kind the way Belle is in the original story, but he does treat them with a sort of reverence. Adam thinks he's fucking weird but apparently he likes that.

Lucifer learns about the curse of the Rose and thinks the whole thing is ridiculous. It's obviously been rigged against Adam, seeing as he can't actually go out and meet with people like this. Lucifer thinks it's incredibly unfair. And he tells Adam as much. And so, he comes up with a plan.

He tells Adam about it, but he does all the planning himself. A Costumed Ball, with a Horror theme. That way Adam can be there without fear and just say his form is a costume. Lucifer will set everything up with the servants and will personally go and advertise. If there's a Party, that'll bring in a whole Bunch of people and there's bound to be someone Adam clicks with! And if not, they can always host another one. Lucifer isn't going to just idly sit by while this stupid curse dooms Adam forever without a fighting chance.

And like... Adam might have had some budding feelings for Lucifer before but this just sends him falling. Lucifer is willing to go so far for him.

The party happens and Adam is able to get along with some people. He's not actually trying to Get with anyone because his heart is set, so he's actually getting along with people on a friendly level. Which he also desperately needs. Lucifer watches on with... Mixed feelings.

Afterwards Lucifer asks if Adam found someone. It's perfectly fine if not, you can't rush love! And Adam says he Did and Lucifer is visibly disappointed and awkwardly congratulates him.

And then Adam kisses him. And it breaks the spell.

Lucifer is thrilled, of course, but also lowkey like uh-oh, was I That obvious-

We're not doing that whole 'the Beast almost dies' plotline because I don't feel like it. This is already so different from the OG or Disney versions so I can do what I want.

So now Luci and Adam get to be gay together in a Castle and Charlie can come live with them and bring her girlfriend. And its a Happily Ever After

Will I ever do art for this AU? Possibly! One day!
