some people are complaining about the fact that Husk said that Angel was correct in saying his life was wrecked. these people don’t have brains.

all angel has been told is to be okay. he needed somebody to tel him that they see that he’s not okay because he clearly struggles with his own feelings and identifying them on his own.

by saying that he knows Angel isn’t okay, Husk essentially brings Angel back down to earth. when somebody with as much trauma and as many mental issues as Angel is experiencing, especially with that episode / crisis he was having at the time of the song, they would need somebody to tell them that they are seen, that they aren’t crazy. they need to know that’s it’s okay to not be okay.

not to mention the fact that husk clearly needed it too, as he’s essentially shut himself off from all emotion and pushed away anybody in fear of getting hurt. he’s accepted that he’ll be at a constant low, and he needed to feel like there were others there with him, that he was seen as well.

when all they’re told is that they’re okay it feels like dismissal. it feels like belittlement. but when they’re told that they are seen and accepted regardless or their issues , it feels like relief.

to Angel , it feels like he isn’t required to keep up his fake persona. he’s not required to advertise the porn star lifestyle. he’s able to be Anthony. he’s not forced to be anybody but his true , authentic self and he doesn’t need to apologize for it.

he’s been trapped in a world where he needs to be okay constantly. he’s not allowed to let his guard down or he’ll get hurt. he’s not allowed to be in pain.

to Husk , it feels like someone finally understands his struggles. his pains. his addiction , his complications with selling his soul. he feels like he is finally not alone. not to mention the relief he most likely felt after seeing who Anthony truly was. his boundaries are no longer being ignored. he’s able to have insight into his life and see the similarities between himself and Anthony.

they understand each other on a level that others don’t. and even if others understand it , whether it be Charlie seeing their pain or addiction from the outside , or Cherri experiencing addiction and unhealthy coping mechanisms first hand , they aren’t able to have a heart to heart.

Charlie can’t because she hasn’t experienced it.

Cherri isn’t ready to give up the life because it is all that she knows. she hasn’t accepted that she needs to get better , therefore she can’t exactly help Angel cope

Husk has both experienced it and knows how to cope due to lots of self reflection , not to mention seeing others in states of vulnerability.

they’re unapologetically able to be themselves in a safe environment. that’s the whole point of the song , and if you can’t see that , that’s on you.

Cherri Bomb Redesign (Bonus!)

Surprise!! It’s her!

I refuse to believe Cherri doesn’t have bunch of scars or injuries from using explosives and fire all the fucking time. There is no goddamn way. Also shes like running and jumping all over the place constantly she’d definitely have a running blade like 90% of the time. (Don’t walk on running blades you will probably trip) Her pant leg is ripped to look cool and also just for easy access to her leg.

I wanted this to be kind of sloppy with the colours; show how a lot of sinners dont have just a select few sins and note how often people participate in almost all of them. Ik it may not be the most pleasing colour palette to look at but that’s kind of the intention. Jumbled colours and asymmetry is really just Cherri’s thing in my head. I wanted it to look like she made or thrifted her clothes as well or like just stole them.

The bomb and cherry in her hair are supposed to kind of look like those hair bobble things that fucking HURT when you snapped them but they were cute so I feel like utilising hair bobbles is something I need to do much more

Her tattoos and stuff are just basic cherries and vines and the little bomb and the bisexual symbol thing. Also bellybutton piercing is some I’ve only ever done once on an OC I have named Angela/Angie which is… kind of ironic?

You even get a little redraw for funsies! This was done for my friend helping me with my rewrite ideas so this is like the least I can do as repayment. You can see heaven up in the corner too :3

I don’t actually have a bunch to say about Cherri’s redesign, I want her to just be this “Oh wow! Thats definitely an outfit!” kind of design cause I love those. Oh and she definitely did the raccoon tail masking bits with craft tape.

I told my friend the dumbass stick figure on her arm is put there because I was thinking of her asking Angel to draw on her and she’d get it tattooed and he cannot draw at all so he just did a stick figure and was like “this is so cool.” and it was not cool at all/j

I wouldve added more stickers to her running blade and stuff but her colour palette is already VERY full so this is the price to pay. Still not sure if I’ll continue doing these but we shall see!! The next post is likely going to be the lineup and some side by side comparison things ;P 📺

Niffty: (sets the dryer to max again) “More…. PAIN!!!” (shuts door from the inside) (grins from other side with her face pressed against the glass)

Alastor: “Fascinating.”

Cherri Bomb: “…Know what? You kids have fun. I’m just gonna go, like, break into someone’s house and murder them so I can use their washer and dryer. That’ll be less fucked up than….. whatever this is.” (hefts basket of bloody laundry and bombs) (waves over her shoulder while leaving) “Bye~”

i absolutely hate how Cherri Bomb was written in the new episode

i was really excited to see her in the episode but the way she peer pressured angel just made me really dislike her character

she says that angel has been “texting her his depressing shit all day,” so she knows what he’s going through, and when he says he’s too tired for a night out she doesn’t listen

when husk steps in when cherri offers angel drugs, cherri responds by calling him a “Buzzkill” and making fun of him being an alcoholic. husk was simply looking out for angel and if cherri truly cared about angels well-being she would understand that.

even after cherri puts husk down, angel still shows that he is uncertain about getting high with her. he once again tells her he’s exhausted from work to which she responds without empathy and just trying to keep getting him to get high until he finally agrees.

when angel is looking after niffty, cherri says “you’re supposed to be relaxing, not playing nanny!” and angel says “i just don’t want her to end up in the gutter like i used to!” and cherri belittles what he says by saying “whatever nerd.”

i was so excited to see cherri in this episode but she turned out to be a terrible friend to angel

edit: i just wanna say i think the way angel looked after niffty was adorable and i loved angel and husk being nifftys dads

edit: so my opinion on this had kind of changed. i do still think there should’ve been scenes where we saw her empathy more but now having seen later episodes i can say i am more fond of her character. she definitely needs some development (but so does everyone else), and i can’t say she’s my favourite, but my opinion has partially changed.

i think i was more so disappointed in the lack of emotion she showed. she’s addicted just like angel and is not as far in recovery as he is. and YES i have seen the addict music video and that is the main reason i am disappointed, because we see a lot more insight to her character in there.

i hope we get more emotional and/or empathetic scenes with cherri in the future and i really hope than if/when she joins the hotel her development will be healthy for both her and angel
