Inspired by this request! Thank you for this idea it was so fun create off your idea please let me know what you think!
This Friday was going by dreadfully slow, and as every second ticked by on the clock you slowly started to lose your patience and sanity. It was barely lunch and the kids were driving you up the wall. Surely there must have been something in the air or the universe was just testing you because even your typically amazing and respectable students were acting up today.
You were currently rounding them up to go for a bathroom break and they were still arranging themselves in a single file line, having taken several minutes longer than necessary to do the task. You only had yourself to blame, you were the one that took a job teaching kindergarten after all. As you walked out, the kids following behind, you made your way to the bathrooms, sending them in two at a time as you watched them poke and prod each other as they waited in the hall. Getting out of the classroom had somehow managed to calm them down a bit and they were chatting amongst themselves.
“Third bathroom break before lunch huh? Must be some kind of record.” you heard a velvety voice chirp from behind you and you smiled, turning your gaze to your friend.
“For your information, it's only the second Melissa.” you smirked, crossing your arms and she walked closer to you.
“Rough day?” she assumed and you rolled your eyes slightly.
“You could say that, its like they are on something.” you sighed and muttered under your breath.
“Yeah it's called they are five. I'll never understand why you took this job.” she laughed and you gave her a sarcastic glare, both of you knowing very well Melissa was the one who convinced you to say yes.
You had both met in a teaching certification program, Melissa being quite a few years older and already having some years under her teaching belt, and you fresh out of your college degree program, allowed for the two of you to bond quickly and you had been friends since. When you saw an opening at Abbott and were getting some unfair treatment from the staff at your old school, Melissa strongly encouraged you to apply, and by that you mean she filled out the application without telling you and you got a call from Ava a few days later. That was around three years ago, Melissa had managed to become your best friend, and you were hers. You were there for her when she was still coping from her divorce and she was by your side when you handled your own breakup.
“Shouldn't you be teaching Melissa?” you said with a sly smirk and she shrugged.
“My kids are so well behaved I don't have to watch them when I go for bathroom breaks.” she bragged and your eyes flicked to her class down the hall, where you could see the projector lights flickering.
“Hmm, you sure about that?” a loud bang was heard soon after you said that and her eyes widened.
“I'll see you at lunch.” she turned on her heel and you watched as she quickly walked away a small laugh leaving your lips at the sound of her heels clicking on the tile. You smiled as you heard her voice yelling from her room and you turned back to the kids, sending the next two in.
You walked into the break room with a smile, finally a sense of relief and peace washed over you. You grabbed your salad from the fridge and sat in your usual spot next to Barb.
“Hey, how’s it going?” you asked and she nodded with a mouthful, swallowing before she spoke.
“Fine. You?” you nodded as you sipped on a coffee.
“Fine.” you looked around for Melissa wondering what was taking her so long and cleared your throat when you heard her voice echoing faintly from the hall.
When she appeared in the doorway your chest quickly tightened and your eyes locked on her, and the man she was standing by, Gary to be specific. Melissa’s eyes were sparkling at him, and he was smirking right back. Your brows furrowed and you felt your hands grow sweaty. You couldn't stand Gary, and you felt horrible because you didn't know why, he was nothing but nice to you, hell he hardly ever really spoke to you. No matter what, whenever you saw him, especially when he was talking to Melissa, you would be on edge and hooked in on their conversation. Your eyes skimmed over Melissa’s face and you smiled, admiring her pink cheeks and flaming red hair. You couldn't help but be immersed in her beauty, she was truly one of the most beautiful people you knew, you thought that about all of your friends. Unbeknownst to you Barb was looking you up and down as you gawked over Melissa, a brow raised as she squinted slightly, her mind flooding with judgements and comments she kept to herself, for now of course. Finally Melissa wrapped up her conversation and she came over with a grin plastered on her face and you couldn't help but smile in return.
“Guess what..” she started and you raised your brows with a questioning hum. Barb knew what was going to leave Melissa’s lips and her eyes flicked to you quickly, “Gary asked me out.” she smiled as she opened up her lunch and you felt your jaw drop.
“No way.” was all you could say, an almost high school like judgment coming out as you put your fork down.
“Yeah, he wants to cook for me.” she said casually and you nearly fainted. Cooking was not only a sacred thing for Melissa, but it had become your thing. You would cook together almost every weekend, starting back when you first met and Melissa offered to cook some real food for you when she learned of your many microwavable meals in your freezer. Now it was a weekly occurrence. You shook away your thoughts, knowing it was ridiculous to think that way, surely you were just jealous that someone was taking up your best friend's time. Barb held back a knowing smirk as she watched you look down in shock and confusion, to say she wasn't slightly enjoying this would be a lie.
“Well I hope you have a great time, you’ll have to let us know how it goes.” Barb stated with a kind tone and you looked at her nodding.
“Yeah…” you agreed softly and Melissa looked at you with slightly furrowed brows, you usually had a lot more to say about gossip like this. “I'm going to grade some papers before the kids get back from recess.” you muttered mindlessly in thought as you threw out your lunch and left the breakroom. Barb watched as you left, sympathy filling her chest as she began to feel bad for you.
“Hmm, I knew she was having a long day but damn.” Melissa scoffed a little annoyed and Barb nodded.
“Yeah. I am going to relieve Janine of her lunch duty. I said I'd cover the second half for her.” Barb spoke confidently and Melissa nodded, waving bye as she started eating and turned to talk to Jacob. Barb walked down the hall to your room, knocking on the frame and waiting for you to look up to speak.
“Hey Barb what’s up?” you said, greeting her and turning your attention back to the worksheets.
“Are you okay?” she said swiftly and you looked up confused, setting your pen down as you turned your attention to her. She stepped further in the room and closed the door behind her.
“Yeah, I'm fine, why wouldn't I be?” you answered and she smiled.
“May I be frank?” she asked and you nodded with slight hesitation.
“Look Y/n, we arent that close but i’ve known you for a few years now, and you know that I don't beat around the bush,” she began and you nodded in agreement, gesturing for her to continue, “How long are you going to keep pretending you don't have feelings for Melissa?” she spoke out with an unwavering tone, so strong and determined, that the weight of those words alone could have crushed you.
You stammered out a response, your eyes tearing away from hers, “I don't know.. what? Barb-- I do love Melissa but its no secret, she knows that-- we are best friends.” your reply had more attitude than you intended, but you were rather thrown off by the question.
“You know what I mean, are you going to tell her you’re in love with her?” she tilted her head and your hand came to your chest as you fidgeted with your necklace.
“I don't even know what to say right now. I am not into her like that, i've never even been with a woman” you scoffed and her mouth pulled into a line as she rolled her eyes, both of you knew what you really meant was you hadn't dated a woman.
“I'm not saying you have to, but I see how you look at her, and after today I felt I had to say something.”
“You’re nuts. Melissa is my friend, that's it. I don't like her just because I like girls.” you started stacking up your papers, and moving things around on your desk to distract yourself. You couldnt believe what Barb was insinuating, sure you had experimented in college and a bit in your early twenties, but you had never been in a serious relationship with a woman, only men. And Melissa? That’s crazy she was like a… sister to you.
“I'm here if you want to talk, but I just couldn't stand the gawking anymore, and Melissa doesnt deserve this…coldness because another person likes her, Y/n.” she admitted kindly and turned towards the door. You felt guilt wash over you for your previous tone and you looked up at her.
“Look I appreciate your concern Barb, but you have got it all wrong. Melissa is just my friend okay?” you said softly and she nodded with a smile before leaving. Soon after the kids were returning from recess and you were left with little time to process that conversation. Barely being able to focus for the rest of the day, thoughts full of Melissa and questions of what would happen if it were true.
As soon as the bell rang and the children were all gone, you were practically speed walking to your car to drive home. You didn't even bother to say goodbye to anyone, or to check in with Melissa like you normally do. The whole drive home you tuned out the music and the sounds of other cars passing by as your thoughts swam around your head. Why was Barb's insinuation bothering you so much? It's like she hit a nerve that set off panic receptors in your brain and they pattered around, bouncing off the sides of your skull, their rhythm matching the sounds of the rain dropping on your windshield. You let out a loud sigh as your hand came to your forehead. When you got home you quickly opened a bottle of wine and changed your clothes, climbing onto your couch and putting a show on, with your windows open, for soothing noise to fill the quiet of your apartment.
Somehow you had gone through a bottle, and now found yourself stalking Melissas instagram. Your heart fluttered at her pictures and you smiled down at your screen, some of the photos were of the two of you, even the photos with groups of people the two of you were always beside each other. You soon caught yourself with an embarrassing grin and threw your phone down, standing up to walk away for a moment, grabbing some water and sitting back down with a sigh. The crammed thoughts of Gary, Barb, and Melissa made your head hurt and you rubbed your face before grabbing your phone again.
You eventually found yourself tuned in to the random Hallmark movies that you had originally put on as background noise. It was another cheesy rom-com that made you gag but this one at least had intriguing dialogue. You didn't realize it just yet but the climax was going to be triggering something in you very soon.
“Do you dream of them?” your eyes snapped up to the TV for some reason and you watched the main character answer her sister's question.
“What?”
“Im just saying, most of the time you can tell how much you like someone by how often you dream about them..”
You rolled your eyes at the scene, reaching for the remote to change the channel. It continued to play as you searched for a new movie.
“I'm not in love with him.”
“Oh really? So you don't think about him all the time and want to jump his bones?”
“Hey! I see him everyday. It's impossible to not think of him.”
The lines were reminding you of Barb's accusations and you scoffed. You found something else and changed it quickly.
The question repeated in your head.
“You don't dream about him?”
Butterflies fluttered through you as you thought about the question, your thumb clicking the new channel but your mind not leaving the line. Of course you dreamt of Melissa. You saw her everyday, you were bound to, you also dreamt of all your other friends and coworkers. As you thought about all your dreams that she appeared in you realized she did show up the most consistently. You scoffed at your mind making up rationales for your peculiar thoughts. It's not like your dreams were ever inappropriate. No, but occasionally your daydreams were. You cursed your mind for that thought, that was never something you would admit, not even to yourself. You always disregard any sexual thoughts of Melissa since you chalk them up as intrusive ones that had no deeper meaning. That didnt mean they didn't happen though.
Even those thoughts didn't occur a fraction as much as your other thoughts of Melissa did. The thoughts of her laugh, her eyes, her humor, and just about every component of the woman. You soon felt your eyes brimming with tears as you realized the pain in your chest had worsened, and it was now spreading throughout the rest of your mind and body. Melissa was your best friend, she is always going to be a part of your life, but Barb’s words echoed through your head and you gasped when you realized. How did you not realize this sooner? A tear slid down your cheek and you bit your lip as you wiped it quickly. Your feelings for Melissa all revolved around the idea of having her in your life forever, and not just as someone you hung out with on occasion. No you hoped and pined after the idea of being with her forever. You wanted to travel the world with her, to live with her, to sleep beside her every night. A hand found itself to cup your mouth gently as you cried softly.
You could never tell Melissa this, it would absolutely ruin your friendship and you wouldn't be able to live with yourself. She was just starting to get back out there too, and she deserved to be happy. She doesn't need your pessimistic judgements surrounding her anytime she spoke of Gary or other suitors.
After a long time of sitting and thinking, you made a plan for yourself, you were setting some personal boundaries to prevent your feelings from developing any further and making their way to the surface. You were only going to talk to Melissa during the school day, no more hanging out on weekdays, no more going out to the bars, no more outings unless you were in a big group, and no more cooking together. You pulled yourself together and convinced yourself this was going to work, it had to work. Soon you showered and prepared for bed, muting your phone for the entire weekend. Melissa had texted you multiple times, sending random jokes and recipes, and a text checking in on you, and you just ignored them all. As a matter of fact you didn't answer anyone. You were truly left speechless all weekend from your revelations and so you kept to yourself.
When the next week started, you went about your day as normal, organizing your room and preparing the activities you had planned as you did every morning while you waited for the students to arrive. The sound of heels could be heard from the hallway, they were booming and echoing with anger and you knew immediately who was approaching your room. You looked up and saw there was nowhere to hide and your heart began to beat faster. For some reason you were convinced Melissa had somehow found out that her best friend of three years was in love with her and she was here to express her disgust with the idea. You didn't face the door and allowed your shaking hands to set the markers on the table. The sound of them clicking as they were dropped onto the surface repeated in your head as your throat grew dry. Soon the clicking from the hall stopped and you ignored it.
“Jesus, I thought you were dead.” You heard a familiar voice from the doorway and you chewed on your cheek as you thought of what to say.
“Sorry, I had a busy weekend.” you replied quickly. That sounded normal and not terrified, right?
“Bullshit.” Melissa spat and you stood up straight, turning to look at her. Her eyes were a dark green from anger, but you were picking up on her small ques of care and worry. The woman's arms were crossed and she was looking you up and down harshly, trying to read you.
“It was. How was yours?” your energy matched hers and she raised a brow slightly at your audacity.
“Don't deflect. What were you doing that you didn't answer for three days?” You didn't know what to say and just shrugged, earning a scoff from the woman.
“The kids are going to be here soon, we can talk later okay?” the question made Melissa roll her eyes and storm off towards her own room. You let out a sigh of relief and sat down for a moment. You hadn't seen her that angry in a very long time and you almost forgot the spine-chilling wrath Melissa often carried with her. You knew you couldn't talk to her about this weekend, for one you were terrible at lying and two she wasn't going to get over it until she got every drop of information out of you. In order to save your dignity and albeit feelings, you skipped lunch and once again snuck away at the end of the day before seeing her.
This soon became the standard for the rest of the week, you had managed to keep yourself busy and your interactions minimal with everyone, just so Melissa wouldn't be able to get information from any of your other coworkers. She once again was texting you all weekend, she called a few times too and it took everything in you not to answer. You felt awful for shutting her out, but you didn't know what else to do.
Eventually it had been over two weeks since you spoke more than a sentence to her, you didn't text her anymore either. After glances in the halls that would leave you depressed for the rest of the day, and caring text messages from the woman, you found yourself looking for other jobs, applying to other teaching positions in the area but different districts to limit all possible chances of seeing her. One night as you were browsing job postings you got a message from a friend that worked at a nearby charter school. It was like it was fate, as your eyes skimmed the message, you smiled and cupped your mouth. Their school just lost their K-6th department head and they needed someone to fill it immediately. You had never answered a message so quickly before, you told her to schedule you for an interview as soon as possible.
It wasn't more than a few days later that you found yourself in an office with the other department heads of Legendary Schools and you were whipping out your most professional and charming interview skills. While you wouldn't be directly interacting with students as much, you got more power and responsibility over things which was exciting, plus it paid way more and you couldn't be mad at that. After the interview your friend texted you gushing about how they were talking very highly of you when they were leaving the office. You hoped and prayed you would get this job, if you were able to switch schools you knew your feelings for Melissa would fade and then you would be able to get over her and maybe go back to being just friends. The truth was you weren't sure how much longer you could put up with these emotions. Anytime you saw her you would fill up with nerves and bubble over with adoration, leaving you with no choice but to walk away and try to distract yourself. You couldn’t hold up a conversation with her without an overwhelming anxiety that she would catch you looking into her eyes for a second too long and be onto you.
These same thoughts and panics would swarm your head everyday, usually the moment you saw her, or the moment you got home and had nothing to keep your mind busy. Today was different though, because a mere half hour after you woke today you were receiving a call that you had been selected for the department head position and you felt shock come over you, your first thought being how you were going to tell Melissa. After a moment of hesitation you thanked them and informed them you would call back with your answer. Of course you needed to negotiate somethings before you accepted, but this also gave you time to break the news to some people.
That day was hard, the halls of Abbott turned to eggshells in your mind and you panicked as you scanned into the front door and b-lined to your classroom. You knew you had to tell Ava as soon as possible, and hope she didn't blab it to the others. After setting your stuff down quickly you took a breath and turned to go to her office. However you were stopped when you ran into the fiery woman that had taken to a cold attitude when speaking with you now. Waiting for you to inevitably apologize to her like you did after every argument between the two of you. Only this time was different because to Melissa, she didn't know what went wrong.
“Melissa, hey.” you spoke with haste as you avoided her eyes.
“That's the most I've gotten out of you in weeks.” she quipped and you gave her a small smile.
“I know it's been-”
“Busy?” she interrupted, finishing the sentence you had been throwing around a lot recently. “Yeah, I figured.” she scoffed and you looked down.
“I have to go talk to Ava, I'll see you around.” you moved past her and her gaze didn't tear away from yours as your shoulders barely brushed as you went by. You got a whiff of her perfume and felt a lump appear in your throat. You swallowed and took a deep breath, pushing it down with all your will power. Melissa watched as you walked away, hurt taking over her chest making it ache, but the moment Melissa would recognize the feeling, she would shift to anger, a true rage in response to your behavior that she couldn't fathom.
You left Ava’s office with some confidence she wasn't going to tell any of the others about your departure, you had one week left as opposed to the two you had offered, Ava admitting a replacement would be easy to get this time of year and while that comment stung a bit you were happy you would get to leave sooner.
That Friday was spent in hushed side conversations with your coworkers, telling them it was your last day next Monday, and to not tell anyone else. Luckily you were able to make them all feel special so they would actually keep it a secret. The only one you knew you could really trust was Barb so she didn’t get the manipulative talk, you were honest and open with her. You didn't tell Melissa though, you just couldn't bring yourself to do it. Every time you went to her room to tell her, you would see her sitting at her desk, glasses on the bridge of her nose, looking flawless and peacefu-- a picture you didn't want to disturb with this news. So you went home on Friday without having said a word and mentally prepared for the fury you would receive on Monday when you depart without a word.
As you were watching a movie Saturday night, comfortable on your couch, a drink in hand and your cat snuggled up beside you, you heard a rather bold knock at the door. You furrowed your brows as you stood slowly and moved towards the door keeping an eye on the bat beside the entrance just in case. The cool knob met your hand and you twisted, pulling the oak door open and being met with red hair quickly brushing past you and inside your home.
“Woah, you can't just walk up into my ho-” You started to protest and Melissa turned with a silencing glare.
“What the fuck is going on Y/n?” you scoffed at her hostility and crossed your arms after shutting the door.
“Nothing.” You said plainly and she rolled her eyes with enough force to make your chest tighten in fear.
“Why have you been avoiding everyone?” she stated simply and you froze, racking your brain for an excuse she would believe.
“I don't know.” The words were soft, full of confusion and guilt, like a kid who just got yelled at.
“Did something happen? I mean, talk to me because you got me really worried here and frankly it's pissing me off.” You looked up, your somber eyes meeting hers. She had a terrified look on her face, one struck with worry and a deep compassion. Melissa stepped forward to put a hand on your arm and you moved away to avoid her touch, knowing you wouldn't be able to handle the electricity that her skin leaves behind.
“I'm sorry, but I don't want to talk about it Melissa. Shouldn't you be out with Gary or something anyways.” the second part of that came out with more jealousy laced in the words than you intended and you just looked down.
“What the fuck Y/n? Seriously, you don't have a choice here, tell me what’s going on!”
“No! Jesus I said no, Melissa will you just listen to me? Now please, leave.” You snapped and her frown turned into a shocked grin, one that told you how much you just fucked up.
“If you don't want to be friends then grow a pair and tell me, don't ghost me like a fucking child and then get mad at me when I care." The cruelty twisted in her voice made you flinch slightly and you looked down, crossing your arms to comfort yourself.
“Well? What is it? Do you want to be friends or not?” her voice was raised slightly and you felt the pressure of her words, deciding to just be honest with her for the first time in weeks.
“I'm leaving Abbott, Melissa.” you spoke gently and the anger faded from her eyes for a long moment, the sparkling green turning to a muted emerald from the sadness that filled her at the statement.
“What?” was all the typically very catty woman could get out. You just nodded your head and took a breath, still not being able to look at her.
“My last day is Monday.” you quickly added, knowing you couldn't make the situation worse at the moment anyways.
“Since when- and why? Why are you just now telling me?” she stammered out and you rubbed your forehead to ease the throbbing.
“Since I got offered a job at Legendary..one with more opportunities, one I can grow in.” your words were gentle as you finally looked up at her, you felt your brows furrow together when your eyes met her saddened ones.
“And of all places?” she scoffed and you nodded.
“I know, but I can make some real changes happen. I didn't tell you because..” you paused to think for a moment, realizing you had a perfect excuse made up for you, “because I knew you would be mad I was moving to a charter school.” she shook her head and sucked her teeth in anger.
“Damn straight I'm mad, but you've been ignoring me for long before this and I deserve to know why.” you weren't expecting her to continue to pry on this and you didn't know what to say.
“Can't you just trust me that things are fine, and they will be better now that I am away from..” you searched for the right words, ones that weren't obvious but were still respectful.
“What? Away from what Y/n, our coworkers, me?” her rapid questions were making you overwhelmed and you just shook your head.
“I was just getting a bit sick of spending so much time with everyone okay?” you spat out of stress and she scoffed with a hurt glare.
“Huh, I'll see you Monday, Y/n.” she turned to leave quickly and you reached for her hand.
“I'm sorry.” she jerked it away and flashed you a cold and disappointed glare and you frowned, watching as she left and slammed the door after her. You spent the rest of your night crying softly to yourself, trying to convince yourself it was all okay, knowing your whole life was fading away around you and it was all your fault.
Monday went by fast, so many people were talking to you and saying goodbyes. It filled all your time without the kids and it wasn't long before you were saying goodbye to them for the last time, packing your desk and heading to the door. You were saddened to go, this was your first school and you thought you would be here for a long time, but you knew this was for the better.
“So you’re really just..leaving.” Barb spoke from behind you suddenly and you turned.
“Hey. Yeah I am.” you answered honestly and she shook her head.
“It didn't have to be like this though you know that right?” she spoke with an almost sarcastic and knowing tone that made you nod your head slowly.
“I couldn't do it Barb, I couldn't live with the embarrassment if she..” you spoke softly and her mouth pressed into a line as she looked at you with sympathy.
“If she what? Rejected you, and then stayed your friend?”
“Yeah, I can't live with that rejection, and I sure as hell wouldn't be able to stay friends after it. This is a safe choice.” you responded confidently and she scoffed.
“You’re going to be miserable.”
“Gee, thanks for the encouragement and faith Barb. I won't be miserable, I'll be happier and then I'll get over it, then we will be friends again. That's the plan.” the words left your lips as if they were rehearsed and Barb raised an eyebrow and hummed.
“Well, I hope for your sake that’s how things go. Good Luck Y/n.” she smiled and nodded and you returned the gesture before watching her walk away. You sighed and shook your head to clear the thoughts that began to flood it and give you a headache. As you picked up your belongings and headed to the exit you looked around, looking for Melissa across the halls. However, she was nowhere to be found and you frowned as you walked to your car. It was so unlike her, even if she was mad at you, you had kind of assumed she was going to come looking for you. You set your stuff in the back before going to unlock the front door, looking around the lot one last time before getting in and driving away.
--
After one week had passed at your new job you were starting to settle in and get more comfortable with the environment and your coworkers. It was a long day of meetings and you were excited to get home for the weekend. As you were driving your phone pinged and your eyes widened when you saw Melissa’s name, you grabbed your phone as you stopped at a red light and looked at the message. It was a short and simple one hoping you had a good first week, asking how it was working there. You smiled and set your phone down to speed home. Once you got through the door you set your things down and plopped on the couch to form a response. A large smile graced your face and you managed to send one, sparking up a conversation.
One night you got the courage to call her, her voice caused a ripple to go through you that set you back a ton. The phone call went on for hours, you started catching up about all kinds of things, talking about work while you started making yourselves dinner still on the phone. The nostalgia made the familiar ache return to your chest and you panicked. Eventually wrapping up the conversation and you hung up with a sad regret and guilt that overwhelmed you. While you were excited to talk to her like normal, you didn't prepare for the fact this would end up being one of the last conversations you two would have for years. These feelings caused you to shut her out once more and you didnt text or call her again after that. Where it went wrong this time you couldn't say. Things just never went back to normal and it all faded. Before you knew it a year had passed, interactions dwindled down to mere likes on social media posts. After that it became so easy to just forget and move on. Of course she haunted your dreams still and this would cause a negative mood for the day to follow, but you survived and made it through. Thoughts of her would plague your mind at least once a month, but you had gotten good at making excuses, telling yourself it was for the better.
Two years had passed like it was nothing. You had become very successful in your role, having had a recent promotion and you were fairly comfortable. You had a girlfriend, a career, and amazing friends. You couldn't ask for anything else.
However, things for Melissa weren't nearly as put together and joyful in her eyes. She loved her work still, and her friends of course, but the lack of closure in your relationship weighed on her more and more every year that passed. She thought she would have been over this by now, it had been so long without contact. Melissa wasn't really the type to hold grudges or let things linger for very long, not anymore at least. When it came to you, you never left her, you were in her thoughts more than you werent. She knew keeping you online was a mistake. It would only cause hurt when she would see you post life updates you would have been sharing with each other, but she was addicted almost. She felt like a stalker with how much she would seek you out. In large crowds, the bars you used to go to, in her dreams at night.
The obsession was getting to be too much and Melissa found herself alone with a drink one evening. She was at the bar closest to her house and was waiting for Barb to get there, the rain pattering on the window beside the booth towards the back she had taken a seat in. Barb entered soon and found her with a smile, grabbing a drink from the bar and heading over.
“Took ya long enough.” she scoffed and Barb rolled her eyes.
“You know how people drive when it rains.” She defended herself and Melissa laughed softly with a nod.
After a few hours of chatting, and a few drinks they found themselves falling into deeper topics and Melissa was doing well avoiding you, but suddenly a song in the bar came on and she sighed, taking a sip of her beer as she hummed to acknowledge Barb's story. She set it back down, peeling at the label as her friend wrapped up her story.
“Anyway, what about you, how are you really doing?” Melissa laughed at her quick switch in tone and Barb called for more drinks.
“I think I miss Y/n Barb. Like a lot.” she said frankly, looking up at her friend for a reaction. Her brows furrowed in response and nodded.
“Well, I mean that's bound to happen every now and then.”
“It's-no, it's different now-- constant and almost suffocating. ‘Nd-ugh, it makes me so mad because she was such a bitch in the end.” Melissa spat out and Barb nodded slowly.
“Well, you didn't ever truly hash it out, you never got an explanation, so it makes sense.”
“It's more than that, Barb. Even though she lied, and ghosted me, I still have love for her. I dunno, it's weird.” she said as she looked back at her bottle with fidgeting fingers. She didn't know where she was going with this and felt slightly embarrassed as she went on. This feeling was fairly unusual and Melissa didn't like feeling so vulnerable like this.
“I'm going to tell you something, only because it's been so long now that I don't think it matters, but I spoke to Y/n once about you.” She looked at Melissa with a genuine smile and Melissa listened with intrigue. “I asked her when she was going to confess her love for you.” a small grin appeared on her face and Melissa’s eyes flickered.
“What? Why?” Melissa asked in a hushed tone and Barb let out a short cackle.
“Melissa, do not tell me you didn't realize that little girl was in love with you.” she looked at her with shock and Melissa sat back in the booth, sinking into the cushion slightly as she pondered. Her eyes darted around the table and Barb tilted her head.
“What are you talking about? Y/n and I were just friends and she knew that.”
“Ha, yeah that's exactly what she said too. Melissa, maybe you are missing her so deeply because you had stronger feelings for her than you realized.” Barb said it so simply, so gracefully it made it seem like a good thing. Melissa couldn't help a small laugh to escape her lips, one that was more sarcastic and cold.
“You’re crazy.” was all she said as she continued to ponder. She loved you no doubt, and sure she probably still did. That doesn't mean she wanted to be with you. Sure she was attracted to you but she loved you for your intelligence, kindness, and independence. She admired you more than anyone else and when you left it still did not completely destroy those feelings.
“Damn it Melissa, you loved her, just admit it and quit being so oblivious.” Barb said with a slightly raised voice and friendly smirk.
“Barb- I really don't know where you got this idea from.”
“Remember when Gary first asked you out? How she reacted?” She said it like that's all the proof Melissa needed. The red head sipped her drink and started to recall that day, it swarmed with other times Gary had flirted and Y/n was there, or when someone would ask for Melissa’s number in public and how quick you would be to Melissa’s side.
“Who knows, maybe you knew deep down she loved you and that was the motivation for all the teasing and flirting yall did.” Melissa scoffed at this, surely all these things were innocent and friendly behavior. Although she never slept cuddled up beside her other friends on the couch on late nights, or cooking in the kitchen and cleaning flour off their cheeks.Could Barb really be right about that? If she was, that meant she was also right about something else. Melissa really did love you.
Everyday you woke up with a weird pit in your stomach. Some days it was deeper than others and it always seemed to just linger. It was never full, not even if you were the happiest you had been in awhile. Today started like that, the hole in your chest was deeper and you couldn't figure out why. You were preparing for work as normal, the weather not being too terrible, and you had a work outing which was always fun to get out of the office. With lots of effort, you were able to ignore the feeling and carry on with your day, arriving at work as normal, and settling in. You were catching up on emails when a knock on your door came and you looked up with a smile.
“Hello!” you said to your coworker, Addie, and she smiled with a nod.
“Hey, bad news. You have to go with the other board members to the meeting in place of Jeff, he’s sick.” she said with a sympathetic smile.
“What? Which meeting, the one at Fox Run?” You asked confused and slightly annoyed that your day was now going to be spent in a room of executives and men, arguing about investing in their organization.
She shook her head, “No the one with Draemond, about the buy-out or charter conversion, or whatever. Anyways it's at three, the car leaves at 2.”
“What school then?” you furrowed your brows and she looked away awkwardly.
“Um, Abbott. I tried to tell them it's not fair to make you do it since you used to work there and all, but they don't care.” she leaned in and hushed her voice and you looked away. Your mind was swimming with thoughts immediately overtaken by the redhead. You can't imagine seeing Melissa again-- I mean maybe she didnt work there anymore and just never posted about it.
“Ok, well thanks for trying. I'll see you later.” you said and she nodded before exiting, your eyes met your laptop screen and your eyes flashed with curiosity. You navigated to the search bar and looked up Abbott, finding the staff directory and searching for her. Was this crazy to be doing? Probably, but you needed to know. When you pressed enter, your screen loaded, and then stayed blank. It was unclear if the system was too old, or if she did in fact leave Abbott, the lack of assurance made your anxiety spike and you spent the next hour before having to leave, giving yourself a pep talk. The whole drive there you distracted yourself by talking with your coworkers and listening to their insights. That pit in your chest from this morning was back, full force and it made things incredibly hard to focus on, but you had never felt it so strongly. The driver pulled up to the school and you followed your coworkers inside, keeping your head down. You figured if you didn't look around to avoid Melissa, then you wouldn't even have to see her. This plan worked too, you made it to the meeting room promptly and without running into anyone you knew. Ava came in and greeted everyone, her eyes paused on you and you smiled, whispering a small hello to her and she waved with excitement. The meeting began shortly and an hour went by rather quickly.
“Okay well, let's take a little break, and meet back to keep discussing the operation plans!” Draemond said with a professional enthusiasm and Ava nodded as everyone stood and left to use the bathroom, or make a phone call. Once everyone was gone you walked up to Ava with a smile.
“Y/n! Its good to see you again, how have you been?” she asked and you gave a fairly rehearsed answer. Talking and catching up with her for a few minutes before excusing yourself. You needed some water and to use the restroom, so you headed down the hallway. You felt a tinge of curiosity and looked around as you walked slowly, it was around recess so this hall was fairly empty and you found yourself at your old classroom. You looked around with a sad smile, looking at the nameplate on the door an unfamiliar name was labeled and you peaked inside. Memories flooded through you like a heavy guilt mixed with nostalgia. Thoughts of Melissa helping you decorate came to mind along with thoughts of seeing her now. You looked down the hall towards where her room would be and you walked over slowly, not hearing a sound as you got closer. You avoided the nameplate until you were closer and finally looked up. Once again you were met with an unfamiliar name and a heavy blanket of disappointment draped over you when you saw she wasn't here. Knowing you weren't going to see Melissa made your chest hurt and you looked around her old room to see what had changed. You soon heard movement and a voice speaking behind you that made your heart stop beating.
“If you're looking for Ms. McKinney, she is at recess with the kids.” Melissa spoke kindly and you knew from the lack of shock in her tone that she didn't know who she was talking to quite yet. You took a breath and turned to look at her slowly. Her face fell flat in genuine confusion as she looked you over.
“Oh. Hey, I didn't recognize you.” she muttered out as her confidence faltered at the sight of you. You had matured ever so slightly and were dressed more professionally than she was used to. Your hair was longer, darker, and cascaded around you. The confidence that radiated off of you is what really threw daggers at Melissa, you were a woman now, with a strong steady career, no longer a young lady that needed Melissa around to guide her. Her eyes glazed over your appearance and she felt her cheeks burn.
“Melissa, hi. It's um, good to see you.” you said politely, trying your best to hide your sad tone and reddening face.
“So you are here for the big meeting then huh?” she said swiftly with a slight judgment evident in her tone, her arms folded over her chest and you nodded.
“Yeah I'm on the Board. What about you still teaching the same level?” you inquired with a soft tone.
“They combined a lot of classes, so I'm teaching a second and third grade class.”
“Oh wow, I'm sorry to hear that, I bet it's pretty crazy. But the good news is that's kind of why we are here today, we are hoping to fix some of those issues.” you stood up straight as you spoke and tried to avoid looking directly into her eyes. Melissa on the other hand was practically burning a hole in your head with the strength of her gaze.
“I know why you guys are here, trying to make Abbott a charter school like that's going to solve anything. I can't believe you are behind that decision.” she scoffed and your brows furrowed as you felt anxiety creep over you. You were also slightly hurt by the fact Melissa sounded so disappointed in you.
“I don't have much say in the decision Melissa. I know it's not the best choice but it's kind of the school's only option.” you defended yourself with a hushed tone and she shook her head.
“Yeah well I guess I'm not surprised you think that.” The pure sass was evident and she made no attempt to hide it. You scoffed and rolled your eyes.
“What is that supposed to mean?” you asked with a professional tone, but the expression on your face was far from it.
“I remember all those times you stood up for us in meetings with Ava, or the superintendent, you were never afraid to use your voice. Now when we need you and you actually have authority, you aren't trying?”
You didn't know what to say, she was right. You were always prideful in your ability to stand up for others. This was different though. She didn't understand the pressure of the situation at hand and the solutions that needed to be put in place before the damage was irreversible.
“Nevermind, i've got to get back to my class. See you around.” she said with exhausted patience, turning on her heel to walk away, leaving you confused and slightly hurt. You opened your mouth to say something, but you were stuck.
Seeing Melissa again made the rest of the meeting extremely difficult. You couldn't focus hard enough because thoughts of her swarmed your head, and if you lingered on certain thoughts too long your chest would tense up. You only hoped you wouldn't run into her again, but if your school ended up going through with the contract, you would be here a lot more. The meeting was finally coming to an end, Ava saying she needs to talk to her own department heads and then let us know in the following week. You let out a sigh and began to collect your things, stopping to talk to Ava as you followed your colleagues out.
“I want to hear what you think, truthfully.” Ava said, grabbing your arm gently.
“I've seen the data and.. I hate to say it but I think you have to. Unless you can get a donation or fundraise in 90 days, signing this contract is your best bet.” you spoke softly and gave a sympathetic smile, patting her arm and turning to leave.
“Did you see any of the others at all?” she asked swiftly and you looked at her, pausing for a moment of silence before giving a small smile and shaking your head. You didn't want to tell her about Melissa, and her hostility, who knows what Melissa has said about you over these years. You stopped and turned back for a moment.
“If you guys make a plan, let me know and i'll help in whatever way I can.” you said with a wink hoping she understood and then you turned on your heel and walked away.
It was pretty late when your team was finally leaving and you were walking to the car that was pulled up at the curb, one of your coworkers already seated and the other smoking before the drive. You took a breath of the cold air in and let it fill your lungs, releasing some of the tension you had been feeling all day. The chill made your nose grow pink and your cheeks redden and you allowed your eyes to stay shut for a brief moment, taking in the familiar air around you. Suddenly you felt a hand tap your arm with a lingering touch and you turned around, your eyes met Melissa’s dazzling ones and your brows furrowed in confusion.
“Ms. Schemmenti, Hi.” you spoke casually, wanting to seem professional in case you were overheard by the others.
“Can we talk?” was all she said, firmly and with little emotion, but caring enough you could tell she was serious. You nodded and the corners of her lips twitched slightly before she tilted her head in the direction of the car.
“Ill make sure Miss. L/n gets home, have a good night.” she spoke confidently and you were surprised they didn't question it at all. You nodded to them and followed her to her car, neither one of you saying a word, just silent glances being exchanged as you sat in the passenger seat. The setting was all too familiar and you felt nerves wash over you like a strong current, leaving chills down your spine and goosebumps over your thighs. She pulled out of the lot and you quickly caught on to where she was taking you. There was a spot that overlooked a lake that the two of you discovered one summer and would often go there for picnics or long conversations. You smiled to yourself and played with your fingers, Melissa watched from her peripheral and she felt a smile come over her face, her cheeks burning from the giddy feeling that came with the rush of nostalgia. She parked the car and you both moved to get out, walking around to lean on the hood.
“So what did you want to talk about?” you asked softly and she looked down to her feet with a small sigh.
“I'm sorry for what I said earlier Y/n.” she spoke clearly and looked up at you with a sympathetic gaze and you smiled as you nodded your head.
“Its okay Melissa, I deserved it, and much more honestly. So I don't blame you.” Your eyes stayed on hers and she smirked.
“Thanks hon. I just, I guess there are some unresolved feelings here.” she laughed with a slight embarrassment at the confession which made you grin as you read her expression. She seemed to be fairly tense and your brow twitched as you watched her look out at the lake.
“I know the feeling. I really am sorry for everything, Melissa. There was just so much stuff I was dealing with that I couldn't tell you about, and I felt guilty all the time.” You sighed and she nodded as she sucked her teeth.
“I know hon. I uh..” she let out a shaky breath and you looked at her with concern.
“What?” Your voice was soft and sweet and she looked at you, her dark green eyes reflecting the stars.
“I think I know why you left, and i'm sorry that I was so oblivious and arrogant to the fact.” she tilted her head and you blinked in shock, there was no way she meant what that sounds like.
“What are you..” you trailed off when you noticed her eyes admiring your form, the glow of the moon illuminating her face made your heart skip a beat and you let out a defeated sigh. “When did you figure it out?” you asked softly and she smiled.
“Just a few months ago.” she spoke with a humorous hint in her tone as she smiled looking at you.
“You know why I could never tell you I mean, it would have changed so much.”
“Y/n..” her voice trailed off as she tilted her head and you looked over her expression, reading every twitch in her face and body as you held her gaze. Her eyes landed on your lips and it finally clicked what she was alluding to. A sadness washed over you and you sat up off the hood and walked forward. Melissa watched and admired your frame as you stared out at the landscape. You turned around after a few silent moments and held yourself with more confidence.
“I need to hear it Melissa, so I know you are being serious.”
“Y/n why would I lie?”
“Just-- please.” Your eyes drooped as your brows pushed together with a slight plea and she moved forward to stand a few feet from you. Her eyes flicked between yours and you felt your chest fill with butterflies as she smiled.
“I realized I'm in love with you Y/n and I think I always will be. Truthfully these past years have really sucked and I miss you.” she spoke with such a clear confidence that you questioned the integrity of the statements and she smiled with a gentle glisten brimming her eyes.
“I've missed you too.” you smirked and she stepped closer.
“Anndd..?” she teased and you looked away with a slight embarrassment. Suddenly cold fingers grazed your jaw and turned you to face her and you felt your face flush. She raised her brows and you let out a shaky breath.
“I left Abbott because I was in love with you Melissa.” she was slightly taken aback by the way you phrased the confession and she felt a slight guilt from the ways she had cursed you over the years without knowing your true reasoning. Her hand cupped your cheek, stroking it gently and your eyes didn't tear away from hers. She looked you over with furrowed brows and her hand pushed some hair from your face before she swiftly leaned in and you felt your heart beat faster, you couldn't believe this was happening, her lips met yours gently and you kissed her back with a soft need, lips quickly moving in sync with each other as your hand came to her jaw. You hummed into the kiss and a wave of relief washed over you. Years of pain and loneliness came to a halt as you felt her arms slink around your waist, you pushed your body into hers and her hands came up to run through your hair. After a moment you snapped from the haze and pulled away quickly.
“No fuck, I cant im sorry.” You spoked quickly, fog leaving your mouth from the cold temperature.
“Why not, did I do something wrong?” she asked, her arms reaching for yours.
“No, I have a girlfriend Melissa and…” you paused as you ran a hand over your face, “and I've spent too long trying to get over you.” you let out with an exhausted sigh and she stared at you in confusion.
“You have a girlfriend, for how long?” was all she asked and you nodded.
“Almost a year.” You answered and she looked down.
“And you're in love with her?” she asked suddenly and you were taken aback by the question. Of course you did, you had been with her for so long, she made life so easy and simple. Loving her was not a chore. It wasn't exactly as exciting as your love for Melissa, but you always knew nothing could ever measure up to that.
“I think so, yes.” You hope your answer didn't come across as bad as it sounded but you could tell either way Melissa wasn't convinced.
“Shes a good person, and is kind to me, and has been here for me. So yes I love her.” You spoke firmly but with a soft voice. Melissa looked at you with slightly darkened eyes.
“Thats not what I asked.” She smirked and you looked away.
“Take me home please.” you said walking to the passenger side and climbing in. She nodded and followed suit. Pulling out onto the main road, silence falling over you. It was a short drive to your place from here and you took deep breaths to stay calm. So much had just happened and you didn't know what to do about any of it. Melissa pulled in the driveway and she noticed a different car than you had before.
“What happened to the volvo?” her question caught you off guard and you looked over, your girlfriends car was in the driveway, yours being left at the school of course.
“That’s Carolyn’s car.” you said softly and her smile faded for a second.
“Ahh, well we will talk later, have a good night Y/n.” she said with such steady direction that it felt more so a command than a casual farewell. You nodded and walked up the steps, giving her a small smile when you reached the door before disappearing inside.
You didn't know where this was going to go from here. You knew you had to tell Carolyn no matter what you planned on doing. She was there to greet you when you got home and you told her everything. She cried and so did you, and then she left and you sat in shock for the rest of the night. Drinking wine and drafting a million texts to Melissa that you wouldn't send. You couldn't stop thinking about your kiss, her lips were so soft and felt so unusually perfect against yours. She made you feel things you had never felt before when kissing someone and you spent the whole night replaying the moment in your mind. Still you resisted the urge to message her, knowing you would need a clear mind to do so. You recalled Melissa’s departing comment and you smiled, taking solace in the fact that she would be reeling you in with her own messages very soon

I firmly believe in mermaids with their tits out. No shell tops, no scaly tops. Bare chested, maybe some fun little accessories like necklaces or something but let them be topless. They live in the sea you think they’ll have clothes? They’re fish people, they don’t follow human ideals. Let the fish girls have their titties out!!

--
The eerie sound of the fireplace crackling and the wind pressing the trees into the windows took over my senses as I attempted to block out the speech the leader of our coven was spewling. She was going on and on, manipulating the rest of the women into agreeing with her and helping her. I didn’t know what to do if I was being honest, but I knew the feeling I got upon hearing Evanoras words, twisted my stomach. To hear her so casually, and crazily admit what her daughter was getting involved in was worthy of execution by your very own coven— your family, that scared me just as much as the knowledge that Agatha was practicing dark magic. I guess I understood why Agatha didn’t tell me she was learning such things, not that I would have wanted this to happen to her, I just would have tried to persuade her to not do it at all. However none of this mattered because she had done it, and now she had gotten caught. And there left me, being forced to join the others and help with her demise. Agatha was my friend, and I wanted nothing more than to save her. But all it would take is one comment from me about these being extreme measures and they would put me right up there with her. I guess they may as well have, I was no better than the others for not at least trying to do something about it.
“Y/n, are you listening!? this is important, we do not know what she is capable of!” Evanora yelled, snapping me out of my cloudy haze and causing me to shift my eyes from the fireplace back onto hers. Her eyes were full of tainted emotions and jealousy. She never cared for Agatha and for some reason assumed we didn’t either.
“Yes, Evanora. I know this, I just think you’re asking a lot of us. Why can’t we just condemn her from the group and send her away? why must we kill her?” I asked out softly, hoping she would believe I was just afraid.
She sighed and her voice trembled as she spoke. “Are you saying you want to risk all of us,” she gestured to the other girls which caused them to flick their gazes between one another. “and the humans, to be victims of Agatha’s darkness? or even just risk the factor of Humans finding out about us with her recklessness?” she inquired with an accusatory tone.
I saw the other women look around to me with worried glares and I sighed. Dropping my head and shaking it no. “Of course not, but what if she kills us in the process, like you said we have no clue what she could do.”
Evanora shook her head with a frustrated laugh and then stared hard at the girls. “She won’t stand a chance against us all. This is why we must stay together, and work together to ensure we are all safe from her impulsive actions.” She added a flare of despair to her tone to really make sure her claws where latched into the girls.
I didn’t see Agatha again until she was up on the stake. Surrounded by the rest of her fellow witches that once called her their sister, but also her mother, the woman who’d created her, tarnished her, and now prepared to murder her. I had listened to what Evanora had said, and she was right we did have to all work together. Which is why at the last moment while Agatha remained under a spell and tied to the stake while the women got in their positions, I hid. I remained in the house and watched from the window. Agatha awoke soon and the annihilation began.
I heard Agatha beg her mother not to do it and held back tears as her mother showed no ounce of remorse. I prepared for the loss of my best friend and then heard the sound of magic being used and Agatha crying out. I think over the years I had gotten better at blocking these kinds of things out. I don’t remember the details of exactly what happened next. I just remember silence and then emerging from the house to find all of the coven dead and Agatha nowhere to be found. The story haunted me every day, it bled into my dreams and my thoughts, nothing I could do would erase the sound of Agatha’s pleas or the guilt that ran through me just as it did then. And what made it worse was never seeing her again and not knowing where she was. I had been alive for decades now, adapted to all the change and forgetting as much of the life in Salem as I could. I tried to be normal, I was smart with it because in this era of superheroes, the last thing i’d want was for them to discover a witch, and heaven forbid try to get me on their team. I wasn’t interested in making a spectacle of myself and saving lives, but more so moving from the past and keeping to myself. I was moving to a new neighborhood, my time growing shorter in the last, and feeling I was ready for the change anyways. I had to keep up the act, and ensure no one noticed the youthful glow that remained on my skin. I wasn’t quite immortal, yet. I wanted to give it time and was still figuring out how to make it really last in all honesty. It was hard without a coven or a mentor. But I sucked it up for the mere fact I was probably only one of a few witches left from the original Salem lineage if there were any others at all. I couldn’t speak for the rest of the world however. But I knew if there were any here, they were hiding it like me.
I pulled into the new neighborhood and began unpacking soon, I did most of it within the day, and before I knew it i’d spent a few days in my new home. I hadn’t gotten out much so hadn’t had the chance to meet new people quite yet, but figured I didn’t really need to. However when I came into town a weird feeling had arose, I didn’t know why or what caused it but this location just felt different. I made my way in and out of the house unloading groceries and on my last trip out, I heard a sweet voice chirp my way.
“Hello, I don’t think we have met, I'm your neighbor Wanda!” a woman with green eyes and gingery, almost scarlet hair spoke out from her driveway.
I smiled and stepped closer to meet her by the mailbox, “Hi it’s nice to meet you I’m Y/n.” I spoke as I accepted her extended hand. Immediately I could feel through her grip what she was, or at least I had a suspicion. The look in her eyes when mine locked with her emerald ones only added to that suspicion. I pulled my hand back but kept a smile.
“How long have you been in Westview Wanda?” I carried on and she tilted her head.
“About a few months I would say, what about you?” her question was simple but something about the tone she spoke in gave me chills.
“Just a few days really.”
She nodded and looked at my house, “Well your home is lovely I would invite you over to chat, but i’m afraid my boys have left quite the mess.” she looked back at me with a playful grin, “but I still would love to have you over tomorrow for a small gathering i’m having, just my family and a few others from in town, and you will also get a chance to meet one of our other closeby neighbors.” she suggested with a raised brow.
“Um, sure that would be nice, what time?”
She gave me the time and told me it was nothing fancy and I didn’t need formal attire of any kind, and then left me to finish getting settled in. As soon as I got inside I shut all my blinds and peaked through the window on the side of the upstairs, the one that sat above my bed. I couldn’t see into Wanda’s home but ignored the temptation to take a look with my magic. I had a nagging feeling about that woman and didn’t want to make any rash decisions just yet.
*******
The next day I prepared some baked goods to bring over to Wanda’s home, some homemade cinnamon cookies and a bottle of wine. I wore something casual like she’d said, a very simple skirt with a sweater and makeup. I wanted to make a good first impression of course and if Wanda did end up being a simple woman than I had hopes of us being friends. I looked at my watch and saw it was almost 6 and grabbed my purse, the cookies, and wine before heading out the front door. The cool air nipped at my exposed legs but the walk next door was over before it was bothersome. I knocked softly on the door and almost like she’d been waiting Wanda opened the door with a large smile.
“Y/n hi! Welcome, come on in!” she moved out of the doorway and I greeted her as I walked in, there were a handful of other men and women in the living room and kitchen, soft music playing and a calm almost monotonous demeanor amongst everyone as they conversed with each other.
“I brought you some wine and cookies.” I said as she shut the door and led me through the house.
She gratefully accepted them and showed me around the downstairs of her home. Eventually moving to introduce me to the other guests. I met a few other couples from around town and they told me a little bit about themselves and their jobs. I was wrapping up a conversation with someone in the kitchen when I heard Wanda mentioning my name to somebody from the entryway.
“Oh Agnes I think you will just adore the new woman that moved in, her name is Y/n she is from… well I actually dont know that just yet, but here she's in the kitchen.” Her voice grew louder as I walked towards her and prepared myself to meet yet another stranger, but I trusted Wanda's judgement so far and threw a warm smile on my face as I emerged from the kitchen. I stopped in my tracks when I saw the dark haired woman. Wanda had her hands rested softly on her waist and didnt drop them as she kept her in front of me. I stood in silence for a few seconds, trying to blink away her appearance thinking it may have been my mind fooling with me. But still the woman before me remained the same girl I hadnt seen for centuries. The look on her face was one of shock as well, however she recovered much faster and threw a fake smile back on and extended her hand. I eventually brought myself back to reality and kept my eyes on hers as I accepted her soft and cold hand.
“Hi, lovely to meet you Y/n. How are you enjoying Westview so far?” she cheered with a large smile.
I was still having trouble accepting it was Agatha that was staring me down, I felt like I was in a dream, or under a spell. I could barely find my words as I stared deep into her blue eyes that were unable to mask her emotions. I knew why she was acting as if we didnt know one another, but seeing her brought back memories of all the time we had spent together before she made her poor decisions.
“Hello, um its been f-fine. Wanda has been an exceptional host this evening as well.” I looked to the auburn haired woman attempting to shift the conversation off of myself. I noted her hands that were still on the brunettes waist and felt my stomach twist in a strange way.
Wanda waved her hand to brush off the compliment and gave me a smile. “Oh please! Agnes here has been in the neighborhood longer than I, she showed me around and has been a breath of fresh air.” she said with a wink to the woman next to her who returned it with a smile, “Im hoping she can show you around some more as well!” We both just smiled and nodded.
Wanda soon excused herself to go speak with her husband and a few other guests, leaving Agatha and I in an awkward tension. I couldnt help the feeling bubbling inside that arose from the dynamic of the two women. I didnt know why, I had only just seen the two and its not as if I had any right whatsoever to pass judgement let alone be jealous if that was indeed what I was feeling. I slowly locked my eyes with hers again and she looked me up and down, I assumed to assure herself I was really here as well. I opened my mouth to speak and she stepped closer to interrupt me.
“If you'll excuse me.” was all she said, a smile on her face but a solemn tone in her voice, almost like she was bored of me already.
I wondered if she really didnt recognize me, but I had a feeling that wasn't the case unless all this time apart meant I would have to relearn her expressions and quirks. I watched as she departed and went to talk with some of the neighbors. I spent the evening attempting to make more friends and revisit some of the guests I got the best impressions from, hoping to forget about the raven haired woman that stood on the other side of the room who never spared me another glance. I couldn't say the same for myself, I would look at her any chance I got as if I didn't want to loose the opportunity to memorize her face. Not that I'd forgotten it really, she did look a tad different, more matured than when we were young. However that didn't stop my chest from tightening when I would look over her glowing, pale face, her dark hair made her eyes shine and her smile was like a plague. I would shake myself out of the trance when I would get the inkling I had been staring a tad too long and then mumble a contribution to the boring conversations I joined. It eventually got later and as time passed I felt more and more tired and heavy. My chest was beginning to turn into a sinkhole and I just wanted to lay down and forget about the evening. I was too afraid to approach Agatha again and figured she wasnt going to approach me. I guess I assumed she didn't really want anything to do with me-- which was valid after what I did. A few guests had departed already and I made my way around the house to find Wanda and say goodbye, I found her in the kitchen playfully joking with Agatha, a hand brushing her arm in a light-hearted manner. I felt awkward interrupting but I knew Wanda would have no way of noticing.
“Hey Wanda I think im going to head out, but thank you so much for having me I had a wonderful time, maybe we can get together for lunch this week?” I said politely.
She smiled and nodded pulling me in for a small hug, “Yes of course, thank you so much for coming Y/n!” I looked over Wandas shoulder and Agatha was sipping her wine with an eye roll as she stared off out the window. I pulled away and smiled once again in Agathas direction.
“Oh and Agnes it was lovely to meet you as well.” I extended a hand and I could tell she was reluctant to take it. Not because she was nervous of course, but because she was already fed up with my fake cheery attitude. Thus meaning she was still able to read me exceptionally well, and better than I could her. Once our hands connected I felt my chest tighten again and the sadness creep over me slowly, I pulled mine away soon after and departed with a smile and a wave.
I made my way outside and quickly walked the short distance to my house. I shut the door with a sigh and took a moment to center myself. Recapping the evening in my head to make sure it was indeed real and over with nonetheless. After kicking off my shoes I let my hair down and slipped my bra off and tossed it to the air, allowing it to vanish to the dirty laundry pile upstairs, and moving to the kitchen to grab more wine. I hadn't had much at Wandas since I wanted to give a good impression. I began to fill the glass, pausing to let out another stress filled and exhausted sigh as I took a big sip from the glass and filled it up again.
“Save some for me dear.” I heard a sarcastic voice chirp from behind me, causing me to jump and drop the glass.
I wasnt shocked at who I saw or how she got in, more so why she was here. I held a hand to my chest and let out a frustrated grunt as I looked at the glass on the floor, as well as the wine dripping down my legs and spilled on the hardwood.
“Jesus Agatha you could have been a little more gentle with that.” I waved my hand and the sapphire magic erased the mess and then summoned a new glass in my hand.
“Well now you know how I felt walking into Wandas home… and seeing you today.” she said with a scoff as she used magic of her own to get a glass as well as the bottle, pouring it for herself and then handing it to me. I took it and filled up the glass.
“I didn't do that on purpose. Why are you here Agatha? I think you made it pretty clear over there how much you care to speak with me.” I walked past her to go sit on my sofa and she followed, sitting in the chair next to it. I couldnt bring myself to look at her now that we were alone and she would be returning the contact.
“You know I was going to ask you the same question, why are you in Westview? I'm flattered, really, you have managed to hunt me down.” she said with a cocky grin and I rolled my eyes.
“Believe it or not I havent been hunting you down, I didnt even know for sure if you were alive let alone that I would find you in this hysterical little town.” I finally locked eyes with her and she stared at me with confusion.
“Then why are you here?”
I let out a sarcastic laugh, “To live my life Agatha, nothing more.”
Her gaze shifted over my tense form and she smiled, “Hmm and you just so happened to end up in the only town occupied by not one, but two witches?”
My eyes snapped back to hers and I tucked my feet off the ground and under my bottom. “So you know about Wanda, I guess thats no surprise. I think she knows about me already too.”
“Wow a few days and your secrets already out. So you're not here to form another coven are you? Because I can tell you I won’t ever join one of those sister clubs again and I know Wanda won't either.” She mocked and I just shook my head.
“Yeah I can tell you guys are pretty close.” I muttered and then brought my glass to my lips. She gave me a look with the tilt of her head but I ignored it. After a moment I softened my gaze towards her, she was never very serious so I approached my next question with caution. “How have you been Agatha? I mean… where did you go that day?”
She shifted uncomfortably and got up out of the chair to walk around my home, avoiding my question she asked her own, “So no family or friends? How are you even still alive Y/n?”
I played with the hem of my sweater and shrugged, “I figured it out.” was all I said and she hummed.
“You know Westview is way too small for the three of us, luckily Wanda doesn't know about me, but I doubt she would really want you here for long.” she prodded, now standing behind the sofa and hovering over me. I felt her hand come to play with my hair and a chill went down my spine.
“Shes not going to do anything, I don't think she has the desire to hurt anyone, I will say though, I always assumed Evanora made up the story of The Scarlet Witch.”
Agatha dropped my hair and moved to walk around again, an obvious reaction to the mention of her mother. I contemplated pressing for more answers, but I didn't know what she expected us to talk about.
“You know I don't blame you for what you did that day, I know it was just what had to be done. I mean that's why I wasn't there, I didn't agree with it.” My tone was sweet and sincere and I hoped she would know I meant no harm in my comments. She appeared in a swift cloud before me and I looked up at her from the couch.
“Oh, so you disagreed, just not enough to stop them.” she said in a strict tone but I knew her better than to assume she was still angry about this maybe just a little bitter if anything.
“I did stop them. You know attempting to convince them otherwise would have been unfeasible, I ran and in doing so it granted you freedom despite knowing what you were involved in. I cared about you Agatha-- I still do, I wouldn't have let them hurt you.” I spoke honestly, trying my best to defend myself.
“Cared so much about me you allowed me to kill the entire coven, even Evanora.” she scoffed, stepping closer and I stood up, our faces now a foot from one another.
“How dare you try and put that on me, that was your decision not mine. I told you not to practice dark magic and you didn't listen. You're lucky I did care about you or else I would have joined them and you would be dead!” I stammered out in a quick breath. We both stood in silence for a moment, “You should go.” I huffed, turning and walking upstairs.
I went into my bedroom, closing the door behind me with a frustrated sigh as I sat on my bed, I didnt know why she came over if it was just to try and get in my head and blame me for her stupidity. I already lived with the guilt from that situation everyday. I didnt need her making it worse just for the fun of it. I heard her appear in my room and I looked up with a roll of my eyes.
“Shouldn't you just go home, or to Wandas for gods sake?” I complained with a mocking tone. I didnt mean to throw in the part about Wanda, that kind of just came out. I hadn't even realized I was still hung up on them.
“Awe, is Y/n feeling a little jealous of Wanda? You know sweetie if you had found me sooner we probably could be good friends still, though we both know we were always more than that.” she avoided my initial question, immediately going for the easy harassment that I practically set up for her.
My eyes snapped to hers and I wasn't sure if she had read my mind or could just tell by the way I spoke about the kind woman next door. The nickname didn't help my case either since it caused me to straighten up and my confidence to shoot down.
“I'm not jealous- and I told you, I wasn't looking for you. Plus its not like you had tried to look for me either.” I quipped back and she nodded.
“Well I had bigger fish to fry darling.” She teased and I rolled my eyes.
“If you aren't going to tell me why you're here, can you just leave?” I muttered. I was feeling drained now, bummed out and wanting to be alone since the woman infront of me was currently only interested in playing mind games. Its not like that wasn't normal for her, but after all this time and everything we had gone through, it felt mundane. I don’t think I'd realized now either just how long it had been and how much I'd missed her. I mean I thought of her all the time yes, but now it was all coming back in the way it had been when we were young, and I wanted things to be normal but it was far too late for that to ever happen. Now I just wished she would at least be transparent with me.
“You dont want me to leave though.” she spoke and I fell back on the bed, pressing my hands over my face. I felt my chest sink into the mattress and a knot formed in my throat, I shoved it down for the most part but a small tear of frustration, guilt, and albeit depressing fondness pushed past my eye and down my cheek before I quickly wiped it in hopes she didnt see.
I felt her magic wrap around my wrists and pull my hands from my face, I didn't attempt to stop her but didn't look to face her either.
“Y/n dont cry, look, I'm sorry. Really I am, you know I’ve never handled this kind of stuff well, and it was a big shock seeing you here today, out of the blue like that.” she opened up but her voice remained playful, still not completely allowing herself to be soft with me.
I sat up and she came to sit next to me on the bed, “I know, I know. If I had known you were here I would have…” I paused looking down and fiddling with my fingers. “Well I probably would have came anyway. I've missed you a lot to be honest. Im sure you know how lonely it can be for us on our own, well I guess not, you have Wanda.” I didnt mean it in a bitter way, it was true she had a friend who somewhat understood even if she didnt know her secret. Agatha let out a small laugh and shook her head, hesitantly placing a hand on my thigh.
“If it helps I missed you too, you were the only one in that coven that I trusted.” she said in a soft tone and I smiled, getting the confidence to look her in the eyes. Hers were more gentle now, not as condescending as they had been earlier and full of genuine emotions.
“Can I ask you why you started the dark magic? What you had wasnt enough? You were already and exceptionally powerful witch.”
Her hand came up off my thigh and I regretted asking the question since it meant the loss of her touch and she looked away, “I dont know. It wasnt really dark magic to me, it just felt like mine, as if it was made to be used, like all magic is.”
I knew that answer should be concerning, but what was strange was how she was right. I raised a hand and gently swirled my fingers to emit the power from my hand and she looked down at it. “Strangely, I think I know what you mean”
The sapphire light glowed onto our faces and she lifted her own hand emitting her own purple magic with a mischievous grin. She playfully nudged my arm and shook her head with a laugh.
“I knew it. There had to be a reason you were still so young, and around for that matter.” She joked referring to the soft hugh the dark magic infiltrated into my light blue, ‘good magic’, that caused it to be the deep sapphire color it was now.
I didnt use it often, but I had discovered over the years that dark magic had its perks. The only reason mine wasn't a beautiful violet glow like Agathas was because I hadn't been practicing as often or for as long. I stared in awe at the colors that danced before us and moved my hand closer to hers, the light mixed to an indigo and with the magic we could feel one anothers emotions and thoughts, something we did often when we were young to feel more connected to one another. I could feel how Agatha missed our old relationship and I knew she could feel the regret that weighed me down each day. For some reason her darker magic wouldn't allow me to fully see her, but she could see every doubt, regret, joy, and even envy that I was feeling. I couldn't help I really was an intensely jealous person and the longer we had been reunited the more time I had to think of all the things I missed and all the things she did, or people she may have been with in my absence.
“Y/n, sweetie there really is nothing going on with Wanda and I.” she stated sweetly and I softly lowered my hand back to my lap and she did the same.
“I just hate so much time was wasted, I mean you were my best friend and then all of the sudden you were gone. And now you have been here making a new witch friend-- and I saw the way you looked at her. I know that look Agatha.” My rambled, mocking, words were spoken in a hushed tone and I kept my gaze on my fingers.
Her hand came to take mine and she intertwined our fingers, “Believe me when I say its no fun having to hide your powers from another witch. Its nothing even close to how it was with us. Wanda is nice yes, have I thought about the possibility also yes, but I never acted on anything because for one she is a very devoted wife, and two I gave up on that stuff after we were separated.”
“You never fell in love all these years?” I asked with a confused gaze.
“You did?” she asked with slight shock.
“I have loved, dont know if I was in love.” I responded simply
I looked at her and gave a small smile, resting my head on her shoulder. Her sweet aroma surrounded me and I was hit with waves of memories. She wrapped an arm around me and kissed the top of my head after a moment I sat away slowly so we could be face to face. She looked over my face, quickly interpreting the look in my eyes and gave me a witchy grin before looking to my lips. She raised a hand to gently grip around my jaw and pulled me in for a kiss. I immediately sunk into it and it felt just the same as it had back then only now it was full of intense emotion from the centuries it spent building up. I leaned my body in closer and smiled into the kiss, both of us letting out small giggles before she wrapped her other arm around my waist and deepened the kiss while gently stroking my cheek with her thumb.
I pulled away with pink lips and grinned at her, “I missed you.” I stated.
She smiled and brushed some of my hair back, “Lets not waste any more time then, darling.” she teased and I laughed, cupping her cheek and pulling her in for a kiss once more.
We moved slowly, not rushing our actions so we could make sure we took in every breath. Our lips moved in perfect sync as if it was muscle memory and I ran my hand through her dark hair with a smile. She softly drifted her hand up and down the side of my stomach before tracing it up to the side of my jaw sending a rush of chills through my body. She gripped around my chin and I instinctively parted my lips so she could deepen the kiss with her tongue. I felt her other hand grip my waist and she pushed it back as she straddled my legs and pushed me to lay on the bed. Our lips remained together, my face growing hotter as the blood ran to my cheeks and it traveled between my legs and caused a flutter to travel within my chest. She hovered over me not allowing our chests to meet yet and continued to control the harshness of the startegic kiss, never letting her lips move unintentionally. She was always excellent at this game, and knew every twitch and motion to drive me insane. After a moment she pulled away, my bottom lip caught between her teeth with a smile before she released it and stared into my eyes. I turned my head to the side, not being able to resist the slight embarrassment I felt. Without lifting a finger her magic tilted my head to face her again and her eyes softly sparkled purple. I had never really been with her while she used this kind of magic, but it somehow made her even more beautiful and enchanting. I didn't have to voice my endearing thoughts either since my mind was completely vulnerable around her, even if I blocked away my thoughts, she had always been capable of seeing through. She just gave me a smile before moving her hands from either side of me, causing her body weight to shift and press down against me, our hips now pressed together and our legs intertwined. Her cold hands drifted up under my sweater and gently moved over my abdomen before brushing over my breasts. I leaned up to capture her in a kiss again and she locked her lips onto mine with a gentle force, eventually kissing down my jaw and neck as her hands continued to feel over my chest. I let out a soft and hushed moan as she sucked and lightly bit a tender spot on my neck and she let out a muffled laugh.
“Come on dont hold back on me now sweetheart.” she teased in a sensual tone and I felt my thighs squeeze together around her leg that was conveniently pushed between my own. A chill traveled over my body at her voice rumbling against my skin.
She moved her leg that resided between mine up so it would press against my core, my skirt now being in the way of her knee applying any satisfying pressure between my thighs. I waved a hand causing the skirt to disappear and she pulled up with a smile. She kissed my lips gently and looked down to my sweater.
“Might as well-” she nodded her head and my sweater disappeared leaving me in just my underwear, and my breasts exposed to her. I blushed intensely and let out a small gasp, she reached a hand up to twirl a piece of my hair and I took the time to admire her face with an innocent smile across my own.
My hands came up to cup around her face and kiss her again, playing with her long hair. I moved my hands down her side and over her stomach, moving  my hand between us and over her clothed center but she pulled away from the kiss and I looked up into her eyes, they turned purple once again and my hands were brought up above my head. I frowned and furrowed my brows, my legs moving in protest but she pressed her hips down firmly once more and guided her knee to rub against my underwear and I let out a soft grunt.
“Dont be shy darling, I know you remember what to do.” her voice spoke softly and she dipped her head down to kiss along my neck and then down to my chest.
Her soft lips traveled over my collarbones and then to the dip between my breasts, her hands drifting over my nipples gently as she took her time back up to my lips. I slowly moved my hips against her knee, moaning into the kiss at the friction against my covered clit. She smirked and then moved back to my breasts, taking one of the sensitive peaks into her mouth and sucking on it gently. I pressed myself against her leg harder and began to grind against it with soft noises creeping from my lips. I was frustrated being unable to touch her but didn't bother to fight her power. She pulled away from my chest with a smile and sat up as I stayed lying and looking up to her. I may have not been able to touch her, but I was still able to use my own magic. I flashed a cocky grin her way before her own shirt disappeared and she was left in her bra and pants. She looked down at herself and then shook her head with a smile. She moved her hair over one shoulder and then ran her hands over my stomach and hips, stopping along my thighs to squeeze them and gently scratch down them. I stared at her in awe, she was absolutely stunning sitting above me, her pale skin contrasting with her dark hair and purple bra causing my stomach to twirl.
“You're beautiful Agatha, please let me touch you now.” I begged and she gave me a sympathetic smile before shaking her head.
“Not yet, be patient. I want to be able to make up for lost time and show you how much I've missed my sweet, and obedient, little witch.” she mocked in a condescending but sultry tone and I let out a shaky breath.
She stepped off the bed and stood by the edge, running her hands along the waistband of my panties before hooking them around her finger and making a show of how slow she slid them off. She ran a hand down my stomach and I arched into her touch, not taking my eyes off of her mischievous ones. Her fingers brushed past my mound and her hands moved to bend my knees and then spread my thighs apart farther. She placed kisses along the insides of them and dug her fingers into my skin. I was practically squirming beneath her in anticipation as she got closer to my center. Her lips moved between my folds and she licked a single line barely grazing my clit. I knew better than to think my release would come soon and I'd get the opportunity to please her, since it had been so long I had hope she would want to speed things up but to my dismay she continued on in her antagonizing pace. Her tongue began to move over my nerves in slow circles with a bit more pressure and I let out another moan. My hands were still held above my head with purple magic and her nails in my thighs kept me from being able to squeeze them together. After a few minutes of focus to my clit and my thighs beginning to quiver she pulled away and plunged her tongue into my entrance. I let out a louder noise at the feeling and my eyes rolled shut and my back arched up higher. I muttered a ‘Fuck’ under my breath and could feel her smile between my legs as she retracted her tongue and then brought one of her hands to glide her fingers through the wet mess id begun to create thanks to her. Her thumb pushed around my clit and my hips jerked slightly to which she laughed.
“All this time and you're still so sensitive pet.” she teased and I opened my eyes. The nickname sent goosebumps over my body and I locked my eyes with hers.
“Please Agatha no games?” I whined and she shook her head before sliding two fingers into me, her eyes not moving from mine and a devilish grin gracing her face.
My back arched off the bed once again as she slowly moved her fingers in and out, eventually curling them up and stroking along the sensitive part of my cunt. She kept her pace easy and consistent before leaning back down and flicking her tongue over my clit.
“Fuck Agatha.” I moaned out, jerking my wrists with the desire to run them in her hair nagging at me.
She continued her work effortlessly and with grace, soon picking up the pace of her fingers and pushing them in and out with more force. I could feel an orgasm building up and tried my best to keep my body from tightening and convulsing around her fingers since I knew how she played this particular game. I let out a hefty moan as she pushed in and curled up her fingers and her tongue ran heavily over my clit, my hips moving down and my back arching up. She smiled against me as she pulled away, bringing her fingers out as well. I let out a huff and locked my eyes with hers and tried to look as helpless as possible.
“Look at me like that all you want, we both know I wont let you finish that fast baby.” she taunted and I leaned my head back down with a groan.
Still unable to move my hands, she moved to hover over me again and placed soft kisses up my stomach and chest before reaching my lips, I went to kiss her with slightly parted lips and she placed previously hardworking fingers in my mouth instead. I looked into her eyes and she had a devilish grin on her face, her eyebrows raising as she waited for me to follow suit. I pursed my lips over her slick fingers and kept my eyes on hers as I tasted myself and treated her slender fingers like a candy.
“Just like that darling, god you're still such a little slut. And god have I missed you.” her words were spoken erotically, but had sweet endearment laced around them. And she confirmed the tender emotion by removing her hand and kissing me hard and with a desire that could only be described as unholy.
As sad as it sounds, if I hadnt been feeling such immense amounts of pleasure, I would have cried at the simple admittance that she missed me this much. I smiled into the kiss and lifted my knee so that it was up between her legs now and she laughed, pulling away and sitting up off the bed. I loved our usual roles in the bedroom, however that meant she was always more stubborn in letting me please her. I of course didnt mind her toying with me and having her way, but I often wanted the pleasure of driving her crazy for once, and leading her to her own release. Being able to ride the high of being good for her. And when she would allow me to do such things, the praise I would receive was astronomical. I focused, catching her off guard and was able to pull my hands apart with mild struggle, leaning up to grab the loops of her jeans and keep her close to me.
“Please Agatha, I understand how we used to do things, but in this moment let me help you.” I begged with pleading eyes, they flashed a soft sapphire as I used my magic to try and persuade her. I wasnt attempting to control her, but I was showing her glimpses of what could happen if she let me please her.
“Fine. But you still have to follow my rules okay dear?” she chirped with a grin and I nodded.
“I wouldnt expect anything else.” I agreed and ran my hands up her bare waist before cupping her face to lean down and kiss me again.
She flicked her hand and her pants were removed, now only standing in her undergarments, and myself still completely nude. She grabbed my arms and gently pulled me off the bed and took my place sitting on the edge. I felt my chest flutter in anticipation as I played out where this was going in my head, without instruction I went to my knees. She sat for a moment, a wicked grin plastered over her face, gazing down at me in all her confident glory. With pale skin that almost glistened under the moonlight being cast from the window, and her eyes darkening, she gently ran her hand through my hair and admired my obedient frame. She leaned forward to roughly grasp my jaw in her hand and kiss me with more force, our lips intertwined and her tongue slipped past mine. I hummed into the kiss and pulled away with a innocent smile. I gently ran my hand up and down her leg and she smirked.
“You know, I would love to just sit here all night admiring how pretty you look on your knees,” she started and I furrowed my brows for a moment, “but I cant hold back much longer baby and I know how eager you are to put on a good show for me.” she teased and I smiled.
I placed kisses up her silky legs and she spread her thighs apart, “I dont know how long we were apart Agnes, but it was most definitely, way too long for me to not get a chance to do this while we are together.” I stated and she scoffed.
“Of course darling. But dont get so cocky, keep in mind who really has all the power here.” she spoke with a wink and a chill carried itself up my spine.
“I would never think otherwise” I said softly with half lided eyes that couldnt tear away from the glorious woman before me. I slid my hands up her thighs to the waistband of her underwear, not tearing my eyes from her and she watched with amusement.
“Dont be afraid now, I dont bite.” she whispered.
I laughed as I continued my hands and slipped off her panties. “We both know that's a lie Miss Harkness.” I said with a smirk as I dropped the cloth to the floor and used all my will to keep my eyes on her.
She tutted and tilted her head, “We all know what name I prefer sweetie, use it.” she reminded me with a serious tone, but a small smirk gracing her face.
“My apologies, Mistress.” I batted my eyelashes with a fake mischevious innocence flickering in my eyes, she grinned but it quickly faded and she leaned closer to grab my jaw with more force than she’d been using,
“You're such a little tease, enough with the games princess. Try again.” She tutted dissaprovingly, sending a flush across my face and causing my core to throb.
“My apologies, mommy.” I said softly and she placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.
“Now be a good girl and get to work.” She whispered in my ear and then let go of my jaw with a harsh movement. She leaned back on her elbows and gazed down at me. I probably looked like a deer in headlights, slightly taken aback by the action, and allowing it to momentarily distract me from my plan. I blinked a few times before nodding gently and sitting up off my knees. I leaned in to her core and placed the softest of kisses on her inner thighs. I could practically hear her eyes rolling and I smirked against her. Eventually I realized I lacked half the will power that she possessed, and was incapable of holding back. I quickly twirled my tongue over her clit with force and collected the wetness around her entrance. I continued licking in lines over her clit, not changing my speed but increasing the pressure. She didnt take her dark eyes off of me and I grew self conscious. However, we both knew what the other liked, and I was most definitely not giving her what she wanted just yet. I caught her off guard by pulling away and kissing her, turning my head to nip at her inner thigh, earning a shocked groan from her.
“Quit holding back, Y/n. You wanted this so bad, what did I say about games?” her tone flattened and she looked at me with displeasure.
I smirked, “I thought you liked games? You're always playing them after all.” I raised an eyebrow, surprised at my own curtness, hoping it would pay off. However, next thing I knew she had raised her hand and pressed a brisk slap to my face, not enough to hurt too bad or leave me in shock, but enough to sting in the most pleasurable way.
“If you dont carry on, I will just leave you like this and finish on my own.” she seethed and I felt my skin grow hot.
“Forgive me mommy,” I said doing my best to hide the sarcasm lacing my words as I leaned in to kiss her slick core “I just dont want this moment to end.” I quickly lifted my hand and slipped two fingers inside her without warning, she let out a quiet gasp and her eyes rolled shut. I smirked and continued to apply pressure to her clit with my tounge as I moved in and out of her entrance. I then replaced my tongue with my thumb so I could slide my body up hers, crawling on the bed to press my bare chest against hers. She opened her eyes and ours met, I got flashes of her thoughts and half were full of pleasure and admiration, but a stronger and more malicious group of thoughts were centered around the lack of control she felt in the moment. I grew worried she would back out and want to refocus on me, so I leaned down to kiss her with a tender and natural force. Kissing her sweetly as my fingers curled inside her. I pulled away and with a blink her bra dissapeard, my eyes flashing blue for a moment before I moved down to place sloppy kisses across her chest and over her breasts. I tried to not linger on them too long as I knew she would catch me staring at her perfect chest. I took a nipple in my mouth and mimicked her motions from earlier. I could feel her bare stomach pressing up against my chest as she arched off the bed. However I felt her hand come to the back of my head and she tugged on my hair, eventually pulling me away from her chest and guiding me back down to her core. She clearly had no interest in me taking my time to appreciate every inch of her. I reluctantly but happily obliged and allowed my tongue to take over on her clit once more. She moaned out and leaned her head back, arching her back slightly.
“Yes my sweet girl, just like that, you're being so good.” she praised and I smiled moaning into my actions, the vibrations traveling through her core causing a deep moan to escape her throat. I could feel my own wetness practically dripping down my thigh. I quickened my pace with my fingers, curling up and pushing them in deeper with each motion. I sucked on her clit and felt her nails dig into my hair as her thighs came to squeeze my head. We both let out moans and I could feel her tightening around my fingers and I continued my motions. She moaned louder and yelled for me to look at her. My eyes met her foggy ones as her mouth slowly fell open and she tried to hide the pleasure that spread across her expression. “Alright princess, be a good girl and make mommy cum.”
I did as I was told and used more force with my fingers, keeping pressure moving in circles on her clit and watched as she arched her back, her legs beginning to twitch and her toes curl. We kept eye contact as I moaned against her and used my free hand to grab hold of her thigh and keep it from moving, making her feel every twirl of my tongue on her sensitive bud. “Ah- fuck” she gasped as she shook around my fingers and her release washed through her. I didnt stop my movements, and her eyes squeezed shut. I expected to feel her back away after her orgasm and move on, but I kept my motions in hope of driving her towards a second, and sure enough I felt her clenching around my fingers once more and I moved my hand from her thigh so she could squeeze them around me as she tugged on my hair. “God- you're doing so good” she exclaimed softly and I sped up my tongue. Her body twitched and she arched her back up off the bed as she moaned and came on my fingers for a second time. I smiled and after a few seconds of allowing her to ride it out, I pulled my fingers out and she watched as I placed them in my mouth as she had done earlier and she let out a pleased scoff.
“Come here.” she ordered and I quickly crawled back onto the bed with a smile. She wasted no time and pushed me to lie down, straddling my hips again but this time a cryptic smile appeared on her face and her eyes shined that familiar hue of purple. My hands were bound together and lifted above my head once again to which I protested and tried to use my own magic to free them, but she just laughed and wrapped a cold hand around my throat and squeezed gently. I looked into her eyes with begging ones, hoping she would feel some remorse. But she just locked eye contact and placed a gentle and slow kiss to my lips. Her eyes remained purple and I soon felt something pressing against my stomach. I looked down to see a purple and black strap on secured to her waist. I had never used one with Agatha considering we had no way of getting one back then. Of course I used them with other women, but I grew nervous.
“Dont be scared baby, mommy will take care of you, just relax.” She soothed with condescesion and I nodded. “Now get on your knees.” She ordered and I wasted no time in listening. My face resting in the sheets since I couldnt hold myself up, but my ass perched in the air before her. I soon felt her press against me and with no warning she pushed into me. Filling me up and earning a moan from my chest. She slowly moved in and out and I felt her hand run up my back and scratch back down. She reached up again to tug on my hair and I felt her magic assist me in leaning up, I looked forward and there was now a mirror before me. I quickly locked eyes with Agatha, hers a deep purple and light magic twinled around my torso as she kept me hovering and bent over. I grunted with each thrust as she sped up and grew deeper. I felt her hand move from my back to snake around my stomach and slowly run down until she reaches my center and rubbed circles.
“I wont be able to last much longer” I exclaimed, not tearing my eyes from hers in the reflection. A devilish smile took over her face and I hoped she wasnt planning to keep me like this forever. As if she read my mind I felt my body be pulled up and against her. The new angle causing me to moan out loudly. I now felt the weight of my body sink down on her as my back pressed against her chest. She kept her hand wrapped around my stomach and rubbing rough circles around my sensitive core. Her other hand ran over my breasts and then came to my throat. My eyes had rolled shut and she spoke softly in my ear, sending chills down my spine.
“Open your eyes, you're going to miss the show.” Her hand tilted my jaw roughly back to the mirror and I hesitantly looked back at her.
“Please-” I whined out as she picked up speed with her hips and I felt my body convulsing around her.
“You're doing so well, sweet girl.” she taunted and I leaned my head back on her shoulder as she stroked my throat and I turned to kiss her.
“Go ahead and cum for me Princess.” she whispered into my mouth and within seconds my legs were faltering as I clenched around her. I went to fall forward, feeling her hands around my waist and her pulling out of me as she turned me to face her. She kissed me once more and and stroked my cheek, allowing me to slowly lay back on the bed. She stayed laying beside me, her chest pressing against mine as she kissed me and I pulled away to catch my breath. I placed tender kisses to her jaw and collarbone as I rested my head on her chest. I could hear her heart beating quickly and wrapped my hand around her stomach. I felt her stroke my hair and her chest rumbled as she spoke.
“You should have found me sooner, darling.” she mumbled with a grin and I smiled.
“You should have looked for me.” I quipped back and she laughed. I looked up at her and she placed a gentle kiss to my lips. Her smile fading and her eyes softening.
“I should have.” she agreed and I smiled. Nuzzling her neck before drifting off.
a/n god dayum that took forever, I hope you enjoyed!

can i request you do a fic of melissa ofc!! about mel and fem reader being long time friends and reader always looking at melissa in a way that screams im in love with you but reader doesn’t know she’s in love or is at least in denial about loving melissa, But then one day barb just can’t stand to look at reader looking at melissa with those eyes so she pull her aside and asks her when she’s going to confess and then reader starts denying it and barb says okay like she doesn’t believe her but after that conversation reader starts thinking about it and she realizes she does love melissa so she starts distancing herself and at some point she finds a new job because she doesn’t want her feeling to affect her and melissa’s relationship but obvs melissa is mad and sad that reader didn’t tell her until last minute that she was leaving and since reader ain’t at abbott anymore they text and call but that seems to cease too at some point. So they stop talking and a couple years go by without them seeing and talking to each other and in that time melissa realizes that she misses reader a lot and that she also loves her so she makes it her mission to find her but that plan fails when you turn up to abbott looking to invest into the school like legendary schools yk but instead of going charter the school stays the same.
