[A/N: I‘m so sorry this took so long. It‘s like the moment I start writing life got really busy, really quick. Anyways here’s the story!] ————————————————————————

At the crack of dawn, Camilo was marching down to the cafe. He opened the door and smelled the familiar scent. He peered around the cafe in hopes of seeing Y/N.

Y/N had emerged from the back carrying a tray of arepas for one of the tables. She wasn’t in her normal outfit, she was dressed in a waitress outfit and her hair (which was usually long and flowly) was pulled into a messy bun. Camilo looked at the beautiful girl in amazement.

Camilo tiptoed to Y/N and tapped her shoulder.

“Yes, how can I help you, si-” she cut herself off when she saw Camilo. “C-Ca-”

Camilo put a hand over her mouth and she froze. She would have fought for freedom but her hands where full and she couldn‘t do anything. She just stood there avoided any eye contact.

”I just want to talk to you,” he whispered. “Please.”

Tears started forming in Y/N’s eyes and the boy pulled away quickly.

“I- I found your book,” Camilo continued, holding up the journal. Y/N’s face turned bright red and tears started falling from her eyes.

She quickly set her tray down and grabbed her book from the Madrigal boy. She through the cafe and out the door. Camilo swiftly followEd behind her.

”Y/N!” he called. “I’m sorry!”

Y/N just continued to cry and run away. Camilo shape-shifted into larger man so he could catch up to the h/c girl.

He caught her and grabbed her by her waist, forcing them to be face to face as he shifted back into himself.

“Camilo, please just let me go,” she pleaded as she struggled to get out of the boy’s grip.

“No,” Camilo looked into her eyes, forcing her to look back into his. “I… you’re my only light.”

”W-What…?”

“I like you,” he said. “Honestly, I might love you.”

Y/N was speechless

“Please say something…”

Y/N took a lead of faith and kissed Camilo passionately. After a minute or two, they finally pulled away.

“Wow,” Camilo breathed.

”Yeah,” Y/N smiled at the muddy green eyed boy. “I might love you too.”

“So you’re not going to run away from me every time I talk to you now… right?”

Y/N giggled. “No, I promise.”

“Good,” he whispered into Y/N’s ear. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly.

Camilo walked through the Encanto village helping adults, making kids laugh, and just having fun. He noticed a girl sitting on a bench writing in a journal. She had amazing, sparkling e/c eyes and h/t h/c hair that was h/l. It was Y/N L/N.

(I’m sorry for how hard that may have been to read)

Camilo walked over to the beautiful girl and smiled.

“Hey, Y/N,” he beamed at her.

Y/N looked up from her journal. Her eyes widened at the sight of the curly haired boy.

“Uh- urh- I have to go!” She quickly grabbed her journal and ran to her parents’ restaurant.

Camilo sat in confusion.

Why did she do that? Does she not like me?

After a while of helping, Camilo finally went home. He pondered what had happened with Y/N earlier all day. As he walked into the casita, he ran into his older sister, Delores, and they both fell down.

“Hey, what’s got you down, Milo?” Delores said as she helped Camilo up.

“Do you know Y/N?” He blurted.

“Yeah, I know and hear the whole village,” she said plainly. “Why?”

“Did you hear what happened when I talked to her today?” Camilo said. “She was acting all weird!”

“Oh… that,” Delores looked at the floor. “Goodbye.”

She quickly walked away. “Wait, Delores!”

She stopped and Camilo ran in front of her. “What do you know?”

“Nothing…” her voice trailed off.

“Delores.”

“Ok, but-“ she stopped and her face formed a smirk. “You like her, don’t you?”

“W-What? I don’t know what you’re talking about!” He said a little too loud.

“Aha! I knew it!” She smirked at her brother.

“Ok, yes, I do! But please don’t say anything!”

“I promise,” and she kept that promise.

Later that night after dinner Camilo sat on Delores bed as she told him all kinds of stuff about Y/N.

“…and she is really shy but when she’s with her dad, she’s a totally different person…”

Delores made sure not to tell Camilo any of your secrets, but everything once and a while something would slip.

“And she has a spectacular singing voice and plays piano, but she only shows it in her parents’ restaurant,” she said.

“Really?” Camilo looked in admiration. “That’s amazing…”

After a couple hours, Camilo went back to his room.

He sighed. “Tomorrow. I’ll hear you sing tomorrow, Y/N.”

The next day, after finishing his chores, Camilo walked to the L/N’s restaurant.

He walked in and saw a simple cafe that smelled of delicious food. He had surprisingly never been here before. He saw a grand piano and at it, sat Y/N.

He decided not to go talk to her yet, for fear that she’d run away again, and found a small table for himself. He waited a few minutes before Y/N started a song.

“This song is written by me and is called One Day,” she announced. She placed her hands on the piano and took a deep breath.

“She stares at her ceiling once again, with a hundred thoughts.”

Camilo closed his eyes and listened carefully.

“Maybe he knows who I am, probably not.”

“She walks down the road with her head down low, scared to meet his eyes.”

“Even when she hears his voice, she’s swarmed with butterflies.”

Camilo was in love. With the piano. With the lyrics. With the rhythm. With the girl.

“It’s impossible to get you off my mind. I think about 100 thoughts and you are 99.

I’ve understood you will never be mine. And that’s fine, I’m just breaking inside.”

She stopped and looked up at the crowd. People began to clap and she smiled.

“Thank you.” She started to leave when Camilo ran up to her.

“That was amazing,” he was completely starstruck.

“Camilo!” Fear flooded over her face. “I’m sorry- I just-“ a small sob came out her mouth before the ran off.

Camilo wanted to follow her. He wanted to scream and say how much he loved the song. How much he loved her. But his feet felt glued to the ground.

He noticed a journal on the piano seat.

I really shouldn’t, he thought. Camilo grabbed the journal and left the restaurant.

When Camilo got home he immediately went into his room (which shape-shifted to have a desk and reading light) and opened the book.

He knew he shouldn’t be doing this, but he couldn’t help himself.

The journal was empty except for one page that was titled, “For Camilo” in graceful cursive.

The boy’s face turned bright red and he hesitated.

“I can’t read this. I’m invading privacy…” he trailed off. He knew he’d regret it if he didn’t, so he started reading the page.

Song lyrics. The song from the restaurant. One Day. It looked unfinished.

The song was about me?

Camilo closed the book. “She likes me?”

Camilo climbed on his bed, clutching the book with dear life. “She likes me…”
