The consequences of one's actions
Y/N had a headache and a boy in her bed and she was mad with the new information about their breakup. She cried over a boy that didn't even care to mention her to the girl he was supposedly over. She sighted rubbing her temple. The boy moved turning to face her and she held her breath for a moment.
The morning sun hit his face and he blinked few times before smiling up at her. She knew nothing happened the night before but he wanted to stay the night in case she felt sick after the amount of alcohol she had. No one ever cared enough to do that and something in her belly stirred.
"Good morning. How are you feeling?" He sat up to be on her level and she eyed his bare chest. Of course he noticed, he smirked at her but didn't comment seeing her blush.
"Not the best." She admitted glancing to her phone. He followed her gaze with a frown. The girl was amazing in his eyes and seeing her down made him want to bring the smile back.
"What do you say we get breakfast and then to something fun?" He said getting up to put his clothes from the night before.
"Food sounds good. And I can give you some clothes." Y/N got up to her closet and searched for some clothes of her bandmates. They had enough sleepovers for the boys to have spare outfits at her place.
"I hope you're not giving me your ex's clothes." He joked but she grimaced going to prepare herself too. He looked after her, his brain started to connect few facts from the club. It seemed this was a topic he shouldn't bring up.
They had breakfast in a cafe he recommended and then he took her golfing, although she protested not knowing how to play. But the afternoon seemed to go well, since Y/N was back to cracking jokes with him and laughing her heart out.
He felt proud. After only few meeting he was able to figure her out and help her through a hard time. He enjoyed his day off with the girl. His mind was still filled with the images of her, even hours after he dropped her off at her place. It seemed he was hooked already.

He looked at the messages with a smile on his face. This girl was really making him feel like a teenage boy again.
On the other hand, Y/N was biting her lip in worry. She was feeling good in his company. But she already knew the type of job he did. And she already went through her own story of being with a driver, if you could even say they were together now. But Lily said Lando was a good man and she trusted Lily. She took a deep breath and looked to her bandmates. Maybe it was too early to worry.

Bonding time with new wife

alexalbon replied to your story

Put your best dress on, we're going clubbing!
My legs are still killing me, woman..
That's the effect I have 馃槈
When Y/N agreed to hit the clubs with Lily she didn't picture the whole group to be there. Alex was the one to drive them there and when she got in the car she was met with an excited Lily, and quiet flirty Lando. They met before at the concert where George and Carmen were too. They all met up at the club and slowly Y/N let the music calm her nerves. She was a free woman and this was her comfort place.
They all quickly accepted her in their group like she belonged there, like they knew her for years. And suddenly she wondered why it never happened before. Why her ex never made any attempts at introducing her to this amazing people.
"Y/N! Come dance with us!" Carmen grabbed her hand pulling the girl behind herself and Lily. The boys stayed back looking over their drinks, while the girls had fun on the dancefloor.
"Girl, there's so many people looking at you." Lily giggled into her ear. They glanced around and Y/N could see few of her band's fans around the dancefloor. She smiled lightly trying to look welcoming enough to approach. She loved talking to their fans.
Her eyes scan the club again and her smile fades slowly. There, at the bar she can see him. His eyes on her already, the drink in his hand forgotten. She can see his body slowly turning her way and in a moment of panic she excuses herself to the bathroom.
She pushed through the crowd blindly. Hoping to loose him in the sea of body's and escape where he can't reach her. She was having fun, she was feeling good and here he was, ruining it again.
Some girls leave the bathroom when she comes in panting lightly. Y/N leans her body over the sink trying to calm her breath. Someone comes out the stall and stands next to her. She doesn't look up until the perfume hit her. Her body tenses and when she snaps her gaze to the girl beside, it's her.
"Hi." The girl smiles unsure of the situation. Of course she knows who Y/N is. And Y/N knows who's standing beside her. It seems she ran away from one nightmare to step right into hell.
"Fuck off." She grumbles but before she can escape again the girl speaks up again.
"What is wrong with you?" She shouts making Y/N turn around with a glare.
"How dare you?! You're asking me what's wrong with me, when you're the one that fucked up my relationship?!" She explodes with the anger and hatred she feels toward the girl that crushed her dreams.
"You weren't together!" The response makes Y/N stumble back in disbelief. They weren't? That's what she thought? Is that what he said?
"Wow.. I hope he breaks your heart the same way he did mine. Maybe then you'll learn how much of a jerk he truly is." Y/N shakes her head walking out. She bumps into him just outside the bathroom and she can tell the angry spark that light up his eyes. But before he can utter a word she's in the crowd, back to her friends, back to drinks and music.
She forgets herself in the beat. Her body flows with the music and soon she's laughing with the group. She dances with the girls and then she's paired with Lando while the pairs dance together. And she's feeling good. She's feeling hot with the way his eyes burn her skin, but this time she enjoys the warmth.

It was her first night without him and a small smile stretched her lips. She could this. She could happy without him. She had fun and not once did she consider what he might've been doing.

Lets rock this show

The band worked over the setlist at Fred's place. They practice the cover again and played few old songs to YN's liking. She was glad that she found friends amongst her band. They were her safe place, they had her back no matter what and they always knew how to make her smile. Even now, when her heart felt like it was in pieces, she had a small smile looking at the boys play fighting.
"You know," Jocelyn started handing her water. "I never liked him." YN glanced to their keyboard player and sighted lightly.
"Really?" Her tone sounded bored, but something inside her head was begging for her friend to make him look bad in her eyes. Maybe it would help her move on faster, help her with falling out of love.
"Well.. He came to our show once." The girl held up one finger and the boys seemed to get interested in their conversation now. "And let me tell you, if a man doesn't care about meeting your bandmates, people you spend most of your time with, then it's a red flag."
"And when he looks at everything else that moves." Brad huffed plopping down into the armchair. He was the only one that actually talked to YN's ex. She didn't even introduce them, Brad made sure to bump into the guy in the streets, seemingly surprised, but still giving him the best friend talk.
"He made me feel special." YN felt the need to protect herself. She knew they weren't attacking her or her choice of men, but she still felt like it was her fault that all of this happened.
"You were happier, that's true." Harry nodded slowly and the rest shot him warning looks. "But happiness isn't the only thing in a relationship."
"Like you know anything about it." Fred laughed making the boys start bickering about their love life. The girls shared a small smile and YN placed her head on Jocelyn's shoulder.
She needed this. She needed her friends to find her happiness anew, to smile again, to share a laugh with. She needed their music to let her emotions out, when they made her head dizzy. She needed her life back. She had to learn how to be herself again, without him, even when his persona seemed to follow her everywhere she went.
But for now her mind was set on putting on an amazing show for their public. One that would show her pain and make everyone know how he wronged her. She'll paint him as the villain of her story, and she won't be sorry for that.

The sun was setting over Monaco painting the sky with shades of pink and orange. The view would've been beautiful in Y/N's eyes if not the message she received an hour ago. Her phone was still buzzing from time to time with new notifications, but she didn't have the energy to pick it up.
The last three months were like a fairy tale, but now they started to look like a fever dream. She tried to convince herself that those moments were just that, hallucinations of a better time. But how could she trick her heart when it yearned for the love she began to feel.
From the moment they met he had her wrapped around his fingers. She sang about him, she composed music that was joyful once again and she felt exhilarated. Every day with him made her smile like a fool. And maybe she was a fool, because she believed all his sweet words, when his heart was never hers.
She sighted thinking about her tomorrow's concert. Her band wasn't that popular, they sang in the less known clubs and pubs in Monaco, but they still were in high demand and managed to gain quiet the public. They music couldn't be put down to one genre, because of all the covers they made during their shows, but lately Y/N's feelings took over turning their vibes to more romantic. She sang upbeat hits about love and joys of life. But how could she do that now?
Her phone buzzed again and she glanced to the phone to see the groupchat of her band. They had to prepare a setlist for their show. Maybe this was the way to let her heartbreak heal, by screaming her lungs out.

The first time (Fjor Jutul x Pregnant!Reader)
Fandom: Ragnarok (Netflix series)
Pairing: Fjor Jutul x wife pregnant!Reader
Warnings: pregnancy, hormones(?), chaotic plot
About: The first pregnancy is always confusing. How will Fjor handle his wife's changing moods?
Requested: Yes, by anonim
A/N: Hi everyone! I took to cleaning my inbox. When I'm done with requests that's been sitting there for too long I'm back to my two series! Please enjoy this little piece and remember my requests are open!
The day was going slow for Y/N. Since early morning she was feeling nauseous and it brought her mood down. The house was empty making her even more depressed without anyone to talk to. But she understood that no matter her state the family had to work and go on with their lives. Especially now that she was carrying the first descendant of the Jutul family.
Y/N was looking through cabinets when the doors opened and the first person came back. She smiled at Saxa but didn't utter a word to greet her.
"How are you feeling?" Her sister-in-law asked putting her bag down.
"I'm fine." Her words weren't too convincing but the older girl let it slide knowing hormones were already acting up.
"Fjor will be home soon, he went to grab some things from the market." She said softly sending a smile to Y/N and left upstairs.
The room fell silent while the pregnant girl munched on some old cookies. She knew the habit of eating unhealthy had to go soon, but she still managed to sneak some snacks when her husband wasn't around to scold her. Ever since the pregnancy started Fjor was overprotective, annoyingly so. The baby was growing and so did the protective side of the giant. It was cute in a way, but when she was tired, with sore muscle and more problems came up in the daily activities, it started to feel a little suffocating. Not that she said anything to him outright.
"Honey, I'm home!" Y/N turned her head to see Fjor with bags almost spilling over with the food he bought.
"Hi." She smiled before giving him a welcome kiss, a routine they developed in the first year of their relationship.
"What did you do today? I hope you didn't tire yourself out." He asked with a warning tone making her huff in frustration.
"I spend the whole day on the couch." To prove her point she sat down in her old spot throwing the blanket over her legs. Fjor smiled walking up with couple of her favorite fruits.
"What did you eat?" He asked throwing his arm over her shoulder. Involuntary she relaxed into his side.
"Some toast and the soup you left me." Y/N mumbled starting to munch on her healthy snack.
"That's good, you want to have a bath?" He was already on the way to stand up when she pulled his arm back.
"No. I want to sit here." Her voice was weak and she hated the fact that even when she was frustrated at him she seeks his warmth and closeness.
"Alright. We can stay for a bit, but later on we're running a bath, yeah?" She nodded sighting and focused her gaze on the TV. Fjor was looking through his phone simply offering his arms to her. They spend a bit of time like this until Saxa came down again.
"Hey, I'm going to prepare dinner. Any special orders?" Her smile was soft but Y/N felt like a little baby that was fussy over her food. So simply shaking her head she went back to watching the TV, not wanting to start unnecessary fights.
"What about some steamed vegetables and chicken, huh?" Fjor asked leaving her side to help his sister. Y/N huffed standing up too.
"I'm going to take a bath." She said not waiting for their response.
She prepared herself a bath and soaked her body into bubbles. The soft scent of candles and the warmth from the water helped to calm her nerves and sore body. Y/N put her hands on the growing belly and did few breathing exercises to fully embrace the calmness. It was a tiring time for her, the pregnancy, the way everyone jumped around her and didn't let her be herself. Some days she felt like the family forgot her body was stronger than a regular human and that she knew what was best for her and the baby.
She was laying in the bath with her eyes closed when the doors cracked open.
"Hey the dinner is ready." Her husband's voice carried around the bathroom and soon she heard his steps. "Were you in the bath all this time? The water is starting to turn cold, come on." He said checking the water and extending his hand to help her out. She didn't fight but still wasn't to happy to leave.
"You know I can take care of myself right?" She huffed while he wrapped her in a towel.
"Of course, but I'm here to do it for you." He placed a soft kiss on her forehead, but he still noticed the eye roll she gave him. "What?"
"You act like I don't know how to care of myself and the baby." Y/N could feel a slight sting of incoming tears in her eyes and it angered her even more, the fact that she wasn't in control of her emotions anymore. "You can leave me alone for the whole day, but the moment someone's home you all act like I can't decide what's best for us. I can cook and run myself a bath." She waved her hand at the bathtub to make him realize that she was fine on her own. "All of you act like I'm some fragile porcelain doll, and I'm not!"
"Baby please come down." Fjor said putting his hands on her arms but she shook him off and stomped away to put some clothes on. He followed into the room and sighted closing the doors. "Y/N, please."
"I tell you what pisses me off and you start with 'calm down'? I have every right to feel this way, Fjor." She snapped and he visibly flinched, since she never used his first name.
"I'm sorry. But you never said anything and we didn't think this bothers you." He frowned and embraced her in a hug to prevent her pushing him away again. "I spend my days in the office and once I'm back I want to take care of you. I didn't realize this could be a problem, love. But if it makes you mad then I can.. back off a bit?" She took a deep breath in and placed her head on his shoulder. She let herself stand there for a second.
"No more telling me what I should eat, or when I should take a bath, okay?" She looked up at him with her best puppy eyes and Fjor chuckled nodding.
"I promise." He said and placed a soft kiss on her lips. "But now we should really get downstairs and eat, because Saxa prepared dinner and didn't even let me touch a thing!" He huffed trying to lighten up the mood and he was happy to see Y/N smile.
"I think it's more because of your cooking skills, darling." She smirked leaving him behind gaping in shock.
"I'm a good chef!" Fjor protested following his wife while she laughed carelessly.
Maybe they were new to the situation and maybe Y/N still had trouble with communicating her problems, but he was ready to listen and provide as much care and love as she asked for. Because Fjor knew that this woman was the only one for him and he couldn't wait to have a smaller version running around. Even when it'll be pure chaos if the child will inherit their mother's personality.

Black roses (Kaz Brekker x Reader)
Fandom: Six of Crows
Pairing: slight Kaz Brekker x Reader
Warnings: mentions of cheating (?)
A/N: Hi everyone! I'm so sorry for not posting for so long and not continuing on the two series I had going on. I lost inspiration for both works, seeing them as a copy of the show and not my own work. But no worries, I'm back to writing and plan on letting new parts out soon! But in the meantime enjoy a little one shot and maybe there'll be more to come during the wait! Let me know what you think and remember my requests are open 馃馃徎
Gif is not mine!
Once a month pigeons flocked to the Crow Club, even Ketterdams citizens went to play The Pure Luck. The game was led by a young woman. Her shuffling didn't allow anyone to count the cards, for she had her own chaotic ways. Some believed even she didn't know what would be dealt. Others believed she was so deciving that nobody suspected anything. But no matter the rumors and theories people still crowded her table.
The thing was not everyone was allowed to play at her table. She chose those that could sit down and have a chance at luck. She lured people in with her charm. Her easygoing nature allowing players to relax and enjoy their night. The table was always full of jokes, banter and laughter. It was a sight to see.
"It seems you're out of money, Sir." The girl smiled at the man across from her. There were only three players left. It was their last chance at winning and this man was desperate to have his money back at least.
"Two cards." He said throwing them to her for a change. She looked to the table before meeting his gaze again.
"Two secrets. Are you willing to pay the prize?" Her innocent voice reached his ears and after a small huff the man nodded to the cards thrown. She shuffled her cards quickly and put down the first one.
Nothing escaped her eyes. He was sweating, his lips twitched almost unnoticeably. But she trained herself to notice those minimalistic changes. After all he was playing her game now.
"Still a chance to back down, sir." He met her eyes only to nod again.
"The second one." He said looking at her hands. She shuffled the deck again and put down another card. The man frowned before showing his cards. He lost.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. Congratulations Mrs. Frederick, you can collect your special prize at the bar." They all shook hands before she led the man to the back room.
It was just a small storage converted into lookalike office. One desk, two chairs. "Two secrets sir."
The night life at the club continued while the two talked. For anyone from the outside it was a regular occurrence, but for those that knew it was crucial. For the girl was not a normal dealer of cards. Each month she would collect secrets and unbeknownst to others she'd then meet with Dirtyhands himself.
When he entered his office she was already in front of his desk, shuffling her black deck of cards. He circled the desk and took his sit while she kept her eyes on the cards.
"He's been having an affair, three years." Her soft voice filled the silence. He only hummed starting at his own work. "It started after him and his wife couldn't start a family. So he found someone else. A man."
"And why is it important?" He asked making her put down the cards.
"Because he works at the Ravkan embassy and he got the job thanks to his father." She put down her deck and leaned back in her chair. "If one would learn of his meetings and accidentally send one of Ravkan's aristocracy to see, then his father would learn the truth and take away his position."
"Why would one open a seat at their embassy?" Kaz asked meeting her eyes. She smiled lightly with a plan already made.
"He had an ultimatum. If he marries then the job is his. But-" She leaned in closer to him. "he has a younger brother. One that enjoys life and could be easily manipulated. He would fit in just well in our city."
"And what about Mrs. Frederick?" Brekker asked going back to his work. She shrugged going back to her shuffling.
"Her son is getting divorced due to him falling in love with another woman. One that works at one of the clubs." She said lightly but still risked a glance at him. And she was right to do so, cause his jaw twitched.
"Really?" Kaz drawled scribbling even harder now.
"Well, he's head over heels for her. Mrs. Frederick said he plans on bringing her flowers tomorrow for it's the day he'll be legally divorced." She wasn't ignorant enough to not realise it was her, who the man loved. But she also knew his nature. The man was known to have affairs and to think with his manhood more than his brain.
"Not an important secret." Brekker said before sending her off. She went straight to her room, just one floor lower and sleep soon caught up to her.
The next day she spend on the Crow Club's floor. She didn't deal that night, but she still played few games and talked with frequent visitors. People loved her company for she gave them a sense of calm and security in a twisted place.
It was noon when Mrs. Frederick son, Joseph, entered the Club. He was in a formal attire with a bouquet of red roses in his hand. The Crows watched how he scanned the floors and his face broke out into a wide smile upon noticing Y/N. She was enjoying her drink with Inej and Jesper during one of the rare quiet moments.
"I hope I'm not interrupting." The man said stopping only a step away from her. She twisted her body to face him and gave a light smile.
"Of course not. Are you looking for someone?" She questioned softly and as innocent as she could. After her talk with his mother she hoped he would not approach her in the open, but she was wrong yet again.
"I'm actually here for you." He said still smiling oblivious to her discomfort. "And those are for you too." Joseph handed her the bouquet.
She looked from his face to the flowers. The bouquet looked quiet expensive for a city like Ketterdam. But no matter the prize she didn't want to give the man false hope if she accepted the gift. She was aware of his affection but for her he was only a player at her table, a man with secrets she could use.
"That's really kind of you, Joseph." She started lightly and breathed deeply. But before she could decline a cane met his elbow making Joseph retract his arm.
"Red roses, really?" Kaz drowled glaring at the flowers like they had pricked him already.
"I'm sorry?" The man frowned straightening up. The three Crows looked between the both of them in shock and confusion. Kaz Brekker was acting possessive and it was not a daily occurrence.
"You talk about your affection openly and yet you don't know that Y/N prefers black flowers." He said already sporting a look of a winner. He was confident in his knowledge about the girl and her likes.
"Why would the colour matter? It's about the gesture." Joseph argued looking back to Y/N in hopes of continuing their conversation. But yet again Brekker spoke up.
"I was trying to be nice. If you won't stop harassing one of my workers I will remove you from my Club." His words were now spoke in the harsh tone that was associated with one and only Dirtyhands.
"You have no right to do that." The man huffed going back to smile at Y/N. "She wants me here." The silence that followed was full of tension. Both man turned to look at her in expectation. Either she'd make Joseph be removed or accept his gift and let whatever this was continue. Her eyes went from the roses to Kaz who calmly met her gaze.
"I'm not a fan of red." Her soft voice broke the silence. Joseph tightened his jaw in anger, while Kaz gave a slight smirk. In moments few Dregs had the man removed while the Crows watched.
"Enjoy the rest of your evening, we've got a job tomorrow." Brekker said heading back to his office. They sat confused before Y/N sprang to her feet and ran after him.
She barged into his office just to have him waiting with two glasses of wine. He was not a fan of wine. Neither did he like flowers in his office, but there, on the side of his desk was a bouquet of black roses. They eyes met only for a moment. But it was enough to make her sit down in front of him and enjoy the drink in silence, while he worked and she smelled the flowers.

Life over death (The Darkling x Reader) Part five
Fandom: Grishaverse
Pairing: The Darkling x Reader
Warnings: mentions of attack,
A/N: Hey, hi, hello. I promised to post more often but I hope you'll forgive me for the delay. I had a hectic time at work (hospital), so please forgive me. Here's another part of our Darkling fic, but I must say I'm not good in making up parts between the beginning and the series, so I'll probably shorten chapters like this one and go for the plot. Few chapters will be posted but then we go into action. Nevertheless, enjoy this one and let me know what you think! And please send in requests!
Gif is not mine!
When the sun rose there was a knock at my doors. I got up from the desk and opened the doors to see a redheaded girl. She eyed me down before a small smile graced her lips.
"I'm Genya. General Kirigan send me to take care of you." She said before walking in and I watched her closely. She seemed harmless, but one couldn't be too sure.
"Take care of me?" I asked closing the doors and stepping closer while she looked around.
"I'm a Tailor. I work for the Queen, but she's asleep. So we have a bit time to spare." Genya said before meeting my eyes. "I'm to make you presentable for your walk."
"I don't see the need in that." My voice was light but still I made sure to make my point.
"Oh I can see that." Her smile grew bright and she sat on my bed patting the place beside her. I walked to take my place. "But still I'd like to at least braid your hair if I might?"
"It would be nice to have it out of my face." I said turning slightly to give her access to my hair. Her fingers combed through the strands lightly.
"I heard you rescued missing Grisha." I hummed lightly letting her continue. "It's admirable that you took on Fjerdans alone."
"They do not scare me. No one does." I said carelessly and she chuckled softly.
"And that's stupid." I huffed at her words. There were so many people that were scared, even when they were far more powerful than others.
"I don't see why fear should dictate my life. The only thing that matters is believing in yourself. You can do anything you want as long as you have faith." There was a small silence between was while she started working on my braid.
"Do you believe in Saints then?" A small laugh escaped my lips at her question.
"No. I don't believe in Saints. I believe in people that were brave enough to make a change. To reach for more than others were too cowardly to take." I knew my words could be wrongly taken, but whatever Genya believed in I knew she would not judge me. There was something in her that told me this young woman knew how cruel world could be.
"Are you that person? Someone to reach for more?" She asked finishing of the braid and I turned to face her. I studied her for a minute before shrugging.
"Depends. If it's beneficial to me, then yes." There was a slight change in her eyes, maybe even fear, but she put on a smile quickly.
"I hope you'll be comfortable in here." Genya said standing up and I followed her actions. "I must be of. The Queen will call for me soon. I hope we'll see each other again."
"I hope so too." I gave her a small smile before she left my room.
I glanced into the mirror to see my hairstyle. Genya did a great job at braiding my hair and framing my face. I took a deep breath in and walked to the doors. There were two Grisha outside, a Squaller and a Heartrender. They followed my steps to General's room. When we reached his doors his guards opened them without question.
He was leaning on the table filled with maps and papers. He glanced my way before waving off the others. I walked to stand close by scanning the table. War plans and reports.
"Your rescue mission caused the dr眉skelle to move forward." His voice was calm, as he expected this to happen. "They attacked one of our camps."
"Anyone hurt?" I asked looking to the same place on the map he was looking at.
"Two of ours. They'll heal." General said straightening. We looked to each other silently.
"And what do you plan?" I questioned studying his face. Such a perfected mask of indifference.
"We'll send few more Grisha. Show them they're not welcomed here." He said and I hummed looking to the table again.
"Why don't you send me?" I looked up to see his slight frown. Before he could argue I spoke up again. "They're after me. They want revenge on the one that killed their people. And I'd gladly show them how I did it." My voice was careless but one would know better after hearing my words.
"You're to stay here. I want to know more about you before you're allowed to get involved." General said turning to walk to his desk.
"You'll learn far more if you see what I can do." He sat down pulling a paper and writing few things down. "The other option is for you to sacrifice your own Grisha to allow me to show you my powers. And I doubt it would be a good thing in the eyes of others."
"And how can I be sure you won't run at the first occasion, Y/N?" I smirked lightly and stepped closer to be on the other side of his desk.
"You can't." I leaned my palms on the desk leveling down to look into his eyes. "But you can trust my word. And take into consideration that I came here willingly. When you didn't even know I existed."
"You have a sharp mind and even sharper tongue. But it still won't change my mind." He said before rolling up the paper and getting up. "Let's start our tour."
We left his room and he gave the paper to one of the guards uttering quiet orders. He then turned to me and gave me his arm. I looped our elbows and we started to walk down the corridor.
"Everyone eats together, but they're divided by their order. There's a table for my Corporalki, where you'll eat too." He informed while we walked through an enormous room filled with tables.
"I believe the biggest chair is yours?" I teased lightly and I noticed a slight twitch in his jaw. Either a way to stop his laugh or I hurt his ego, both worked for me.
"Everyone has their own plan of the day. You'll have quiet a different one. I want to know of your Little Science, so we'll train together until I say otherwise." I rolled my eyes at his words. Such a need for control.
"Little Science. Such a boring term." I hummed looking around the corridor. I could feel his gaze on me but I didn't elaborate.
"Here we have the Durast's workspace. Others don't come here, unless they need something or have orders to do so." I nodded counting down the doors. They had a lot of work it seemed. "The training grounds are right there." He pointed to another corridor but led us the opposite way.
"And where are we heading?" I asked curiously although I heard stories of the Palace already.
"To the lake. I'd like to see at least a glimpse of what you can do." I smiled happily while we walked outside. Having a lake to practice would be an amazing feeling, especially after a night of controlling myself.

Life over death (The Darkling x Reader) Part four
Fandom: Grishaverse
Pairing: Alexander Morozova x Reader
Warnings: mentions of blood, cutting yourself, descriptions of using powers but they're not perfectly like other Grisha, 1st person POV
A/N: Hello, next part of Alexander fic! Please, have in mind that this is the fic about Reader having powers that come from merzost, so I make them up. They will have things in common with Little Science, but it is not the same. After the last part I realised that I'm not too good at writing in other povs so we're back to 1st person. Let me know what you think and enjoy!
Ps.: This is a short filler chapter to give you a little snippet into Reader's abilities.
Gif is not mine!
The room I was given was spacious and luxurious. The bed felt like a cloud, yet a bit too soft after all the nights spend in inns. But I didn't say a word to the Grisha that showed me to my room. General gave orders to let me rest for the night before he showed me around tomorrow. I knew it would be seen as special treatment, but no one here stood a chance against me.
I spend the night observing the grounds through the window. Taking a bath after the journey and getting to know every corner of my new room. I'll have to wander the halls after the tour to know the corridors. Other Grisha might not like my powers, so having an upper hand of the surroundings will be crucial.
I sat on my bed breathing deeply. I let my heart rate regulate and muscles relax. When my body was ready I cleared my mind, letting the thoughts and memories go. Slowly tendrils of water started to circle around my body with the help of air. I worked on the temperature around me and the humidity of the room. I could feel my hair get slightly damp and I took a deep breath in. I stopped and walked to the desk. As much as I wanted to do more, the room was not the best place to train my abilities.
Looking through the drawers I found a letter opener and after close inspection I deemed it just fine. Even if I didn't like this part of my self training, no one will allow me to train on others when they don't trust me. So with light hesitation I cut my hand and let the blood flow. But before the drops could hit the desk they stopped hovering over it. I looked to the droplets and back to the injury. Sighting lightly I willed the blood to go back, to fill my veins again, to close the wound. It was my way to learn how to fix myself after a fight. Although my offensive was quiet perfect and not many stood a chance. But every good tactic knows that the defensive plays a big role in winning wars too. So each night I would train myself in healing my own body, in using tricks that didn't harm but could distract the opponent.
I had power and with power comes a prize. I promised myself that I would not be one of the martyrs. I would not fall. Not until I made them pay, all of them.

Kaz dragged me out with him to find Jesper on the streets of Ketterdam. We found him fairly quickly, but I noticed him looking around for something, or someone.
"Jesper, new job!" Kaz shouted nearing our friend. "Come along."
I watched Jesper smile to himself before he jogged behind us. We went throught the back streets while he got distracted with everything every few minutes.
"I mean it. We need a demo man." Jesper said after walking beside a stall with some explosives.
"You're still on that?" Kaz shook his head not stopping.
"Yeah, I babysit enough with you. Not to mention a guy with a knack for blowing things up." I grunted while another woman tried to show me some jewelry, probably fake either way.
"I just brought it up tonight." He argued looking around at people.
"Jesper, you ask for an explosives expert on every job." Kaz points out and I nod along. He even talks about it after getting few drinks.
"Because I don't want to be the one you point to and say, "Explode something for us." That is not a Jesper talent. I shoot things with style. And I look good." He says pointing at Kaz making me huff.
"And a big ego." I tease making Jesper wink at me.
"Alina Starkov will be kept at the Little Palace. Entering that building requires us to be quiet." Kaz explained to Jesper while I looked to the building ahead of us. "Blowing something up, we've likely failed."
"Then we should take Inej." Jesper said like it was second nature. "She's a good investment. More quiet than I'll ever be. She can't stay here, you know that." Jesper caught Kaz's elbow stopping him. He glared at the hand like it burned him and Jesper pulled himself away. "Whoa. Hang on, aren't we on Pekka's turf now?"
"I go to Heleen now and ask for her buyout, she know I need Inej and sets a price I can't pay." Kaz explains quickly and Jesper frowns.
"That's evil. Well, how do you know that?" He asks looking to Kaz confused.
"It's what I would do." I shake my head knowing he probably did it. "Besides, Inej refuses to kill. Would you trust her in a matter of life and death?"
"Well, I've trusted her so far and I'm still alive, so, yeah." He says while I voice my agreement too. Inej might have her own rules, but I didn't doubt her for one second. "Now, you want to tell me why we're scoping out a rival club?"
"To have a talk with an old business partner." Kaz said looking to the building with displeasure.
"The bouncer will know you on sight." Jesper said making Brekker look back to him.
"That's why I brought you. Make sure they don't see me." He said before walking away from us. We looked to each other before sighting tiredly.
We walked up to the doors and Jesper shoot at the boot sign on the wall. In a second all of them ran down the stairs and pointed their guns at us. Jesper raised his one arm up, while the other was draped around my waist. I hugged myself close to his chest in an act of fear, but also to make sure his chest was hidden by my face.
"You heard that, too?" Jesper asked pointing to the side.
"Was that you?" The bouncer asked with the guns still pointed at us.
"No, I'm, uh... I'm bouncing for the Clipper. And had a small break to see my lady." He squizzed my waist while Kaz was sneaking behind the man.
"Haven't seen you before? Where's Tombar?" The man asked but they guns were lowered now, making me straighten up lightly. They started to turn around while Kaz was still in the doorway, his eyes set on us for a moment.
"Hey, hey. Was that sign damaged before?" Jesper asked and when they looked up he shot the sign. I covered again hiding his chest. "Saints. Where was that?" He asked with his arm still raised. They looked at each other confused before one of them told us to stay put. The other one started to walk around the street looking for anything out of the ordinary.
When I finally noticed Kaz safely walk out I whimpered hugging Jesper tightly.
"Can we go now please?" I all but whined and the men huffed letting us go.
We hurried to catch up with Kaz, who looked like he was on a mission.
"What did you learn?" I asked falling in step with him.
"I've got an address. Go ahead and make sure nothing happens." He said giving me a piece of paper and I hurried to the rooftops.
I ran along the tiles and kept an eye out for Kaz and Jesper. I circled the whole building noticing everything was locked. I jumped down in front of the doors where they stopped.
"It's locked." Kaz sighted crouching down to pick the lock. "Keep a lookout." Jesper nodded while I walked in before Kaz.
"Better stay behind me." Kaz said trying to sidestep me, but I blocked his way.
"Do not forget who I am, Brekker." I send him a glare and we followed the noise. When we neared the doorway I recognized Inej's voice.
"Ask the Saints for me." She said when we finally stepped into the room. I noticed the man and Kaz was the first one to react.
"Don't!" He shouted making Inej throw her dagger at us and I redirected it with my own blades. It flew past us to emb itself into the doorway next to Kaz's head. "He's our way to Alina Starkov." He said still quiet shaken from the attack while I stepped up to the pair.
"Him?" Inej asked with her knife still on his throat. I placed my hand over hers.
"Heleen knew it. She was using you to sabotage our mission." His words made Inej frown in confusion and she shook her head.
"She and I made a deal." Her hand began trembling and I pulled it back lightly.
"It isn't worth more than what we get with him alive." Brekker stepped closer trying to stop her too.
"You choose him over my freedom?" She asks turning to face him while I make sure her hand doesn't slip with the turmoil of emotion she felt right now.
"You assume it's one or the other." He says and Inej stills for a moment before stepping back. "Conductor. I have a job for you." Kaz stands over him and I groan getting the man into a sitting position.
After Kaz's talk with the Conductor we all made our way back to the Slat where he immediately went to his office and the three of us stayed downstairs. Inej was obviously still a bit shaken about almost killing the man, while Jesper kept on glancing at both of us.
"You asked Jesper to do it. Before we got to him." I stated leaning back in my chair and they both looked at me. "Why didn't you come to me?"
"Because I knew you would do it without question." Inej admitted looking down at the table. I sighted reaching for her hand.
"I'd kill more than just one man if it meant your conscience was untouched Inej." I said in a soft voice making her smile lightly.
"I know. And I think that was the reason why I didn't come to you." She admitted and I could see her pain.
"It's in the past now. You didn't do it." I squizzed her hand before letting her go.
"What if I wanted to?" Inej asked looking to both Jesper and me.
"We're human, Inej. We're the worst type of predators. And sometimes that animalistic part wins." I shrugged looking at the few Dregs laughing around.
When Kaz finally walked down we were informed to pack lightly and head for Novokribirsk. I was the only one that went to my room and didn't come out in seconds. But I still wasn't a Crow, I still didn't want to cross the Fold.
"Why are you not packed?" Kaz all but barked getting into my room without knocking. Minutes after they were supposed to leave.
"Because I'm not going." I huffed turning to face him.
"You're on this job as much as the others." He said stepping closer with an air of authority.
"I don't remember when I agreed to this." I snapped back and took a step closer too. He looked down at me with a clenched jaw, but I wasn't giving up that easily.
"You're either going to pack or I'll drag you out." He threatened making me laugh. I shook my head in irritation.
"I came here on a job, yes. But not this one. I didn't sign up to cross the Fold again or to go back to that Saints forsaken place!" I shouted letting my anger speak. It took only a second for my words to register in my brain. I straightened up while Brekker watched me carefully.
"You've crossed the Fold?" His eyes squinted dangerously.
"Who do you think brought that woman into your Club, huh? Who do you think gave you a way through that pitch black hole?" I asked stepping away to lean my hands on the dresser. "I am not going back there, Kaz. Do not ask me."
"If you know the way around the Little Palace that means we need you more than ever." I could hear him step closer and I felt his presence hover behind me. He was close, but it felt like he was already on the other side of the Fold.
"You have no idea about my past. And going back means living through it again. I am not ready to do that." I shook my head to get rid of the memories that flooded my mind.
"You are not the same as you were. You survived Ketterdam, you balanced between gangs and you took lives. You became the Void Blade. And if you coming means bringing her back to life then so be it." Kaz said and I knew it took a lot to allow my other identity to come back to life. It would mess with our plan and bring attention to both me and Dirtyhands.
"Fine." I spat out grabbing few of my hiddens weapons that were only assimilated to the Blade. "But if it goes wrong.."
"It won't." He said keeping his gaze on me. "Now let's go."

I drank with Jesper downstairs while Inej decided to go and confront Kaz about leaving the job. We both knew it was no use, so she was left alone.
"She's coming." I informed turning back to face the bar.
"What do you think he did this time?" Jesper asked filling our glasses again.
"How would I know?" I frowned before downing my whiskey.
"Well.. Maybe because he has you look over jobs and plans. And not to forget you're the only one he trusts with the Club. I'd say he has a soft spot." Jesper teased with a smirk, while I rolled my eyes.
"Kaz Brekker doesn't have a soft spot, Jesper. That boy is as cold as Ketterdam." I said making him laugh.
"And you seem to know him as good as the city, dear Y/N." He smiled drinking his whiskey too. We both turned to see Inej slide up next to him.
"He doesn't have a way across the Fold, and we all know it." She said still annoyed. I filled another glass and gave it to her, if she didn't drink it I probably will.
"I bet he'll figure it out." Jesper said leaning on the bar. "Come on, take that bet." He said to Inej and I shook my head seeing he was getting tipsy already. "Bolliger won't play with me anymore, so.." Inej downed the shot and Jesper looked shocked.
"He's obsessed with taking down Pekka Rollins." Inej said making me humm lightly in agreement.
"Of course he's obsessed with the one villain in town who's paid off the stadwatch to get away with literal murder." Jesper said pointing to another shot. "Thanks. Another one, Joe."
"No, it's more than that." Inej said and I watched her face carefully. She was the only one that could catch up to Kaz and me. "I've seen the way Kaz looks when he says Pekka's name. Kaz wants revenge." I took a deep breath in while some boy came up and gave Inej a note. "Of course she call for me now."
"Off to the Menagerie? Want company?" Jesper asked making me stand up too.
"No." She said before walking away making both of us turn back to the bar. And in seconds Kaz joined us in quiet a disheveled state.
"You all right, boss?" Jesper asked while Brekker downed his shot which made me chuckle lightly.
"No. I've been warned off the job." I straightened up at his words.
"By who?" Jesper asked while Kaz turned to face his Club making us follow.
"Who do you think?" I tightened my jaw watching their interaction.
"Did he remember you?" Jesper asked while Kaz checked his watch again.
"If he had, I'd be dead. Sunrise is in five hours." Kaz said walking to the barrier.
"Yeah, but we're off the job now, right?" He asked making me shake my head no.
"Never make decisions out of fear, Jesper. Only out of spite." Brekker said while my eyes swept over the tables.
"Well, greed always worked for me." He joked making Kaz glance at him.
"Go guard the door." He said making our friend huff before leaving. Jesper threw me a glance that screamed told you so. Kaz looked kind of out of it, so I cleared my throat catching his attention.
"She's new." I said looking at the woman I invited to the Club. Kaz watched her for a moment before signalling to Rotty.
"You're coming with me." He said before walking quickly to his office where we waited for the woman.
"I don't understand. I wasn't cheating." She argued looking to me, but I only shrugged staying leaning on the wall.
"You've been here every night for a week. You don't play Makker's Wheel or Ratcatcher, only cards." Kaz said taking money from his safe. "Because you keep track of what's played." He leaned on the table and her gaze flickered to me in panic.
"Well, that is not cheating." She argued making me wince lightly.
"No, but I'll have to add an extra deck to your table to keep things more balanced." He slammed the money in front of her. "An incentive to keep playing. Count it for me." She slowly took the money and began counting. Rotty looked from her to Kaz, who stopped her with his cane. "Where are you from?"
"West Ravka. Os Kervo." She said looking up at him.
"West Ravkans count money from one hand to the other, but people out east who work the mines in Sikursk, they count like you do." Kaz pointed to the map and I sighted stepping to the desk.
"Just tell him." My voice was tired but still strong. She watched me with a tighten jaw before turning back to Kaz.
"My daughter is Grisha." She began with tears in her eyes. "Neither of us wanted her to fight in the war. You can't make us go back."
"No, no, no. I'm not after you." Kaz shook his hand showing her it was not about her. "But you need to tell me how you and your daughter got through the Fold unscathed and unnoticed. Now." She breathed heavily and with a nod from me she broke.
"He just went by a title. The Conductor." Kaz looked to Rotty quickly but it didn't ring any bells. "We paid him in advance and he took us across in some special transport. It was noisy, but he had us wear hoods, so we couldn't share how he does it. I don't know what else to tell you." She said while Kaz looked over his papers.
"Give me something. A name. An address. A contact, someone he worked with." He pushed on making her think for a moment.
"He left us with a stage performer who took us in for a few nights. Poppy." Her words made me and Rotty scoff and Kaz looked slightly pissed.
"Where's Poppy working this days?" He asked Rotty who looked at me.
"Emerald Palace, boss." His gaze went back to Kaz who glanced my way too. He sighted before letting the woman go.

The story of two broken souls (Kaz Brekkerx Reader) Part 11

Even if I didn't want to be seen with the Crows, Kaz somehow managed to make me come to meet Dreesen. We got the Heartrender walking with us and I noticed Kaz glance her way. She was walking next to me, although I didn't know why she felt safer that way.
"I really appreciate new business, but you've only paid for an hour of my time, and I have to be back at the Orchid." She said trying to keep up with Kaz. Her awful dress didn't help with that.
"The Orchid isn't safe tonight. Your life is in danger with this job." He threw over his shoulder and all of us knew he didn't really care for her. But what people won't do to make others believe them. "Make yourself scarce for a few days afterwards."
"Mr. Brekker, are you threatening me? Really?" She huffed annoyed which made me roll my eyes. "Even if I'm nice, my boss will call the stadwatch on you."
"It's not me you're in danger with. It's Pekka Rollins." He finally turned facing the now shocked Grisha.
"My boss would call the stadwatch on him as well." She tried to keep her cool which made me step around her and head for the gate.
"Which is why your boss is already dead." He said with an evident smirk in his tone. Kaz came up beside me making the security look our way.
"Who are you lot?" The man asked with an accent making me squint my eyes in order to see through the darkness.
"We're here to see Dreesen." He said walking closer to the gate.
"You're not with Pekka's crew." The man said walking up as well.
"And you're not in Pekka's pocket anymore if you don't own him." Brekker said making me throw the bag of coins to the man. He let us in without much questions and I patted his arm walking by.
Jesper sped up and walked side by side with Kaz, while I let Inej and the Heartrender walk in front of me. Somehow I learned to walk at the end to make sure non of them were hit. The man shouted something about a hole on the coins making us hurry inside the building.
I didn't pay much attention to the interior, but I counted the men walking around. They had guns and few additional knives. It would be hard to get out of here without some tricks.
"One look and I can tell. Criminals." Dreesen said pointing his finger at us. "I'm not meeting anyone 'til midnight."
"We heard you need a Heartrender." Kaz said making the woman wave at the merchant. I lightly poked her side to make her keep quiet.
"Alright." He stood up smiling quickly. "She stays, the rest of you, out." The woman started to walk ahead but Kaz stopped her with his cane. I could see her slightly gulp in fear.
"She stays. And we have an exclusive on this job." Brekker said getting straight to business. I looked around meeting Inej's gaze for a moment. She was counting the escape routes as well.
"Mr. Brekker." The Heartrender stepped back to be by my side again. "No businessman worth his salt hires his first applicant."
"No. No, I understand. Of course, I will have to report you to the guild for kidnapping and harboring a prisoner without chain of title." I bit back my smirk. For such a young age he sure knew how to get under people's skin. Dreesen's men showed their guns and Jesper did the same thing.
"You wouldn't." Dreesen tried to call Kaz's bluff.
"No businessman worth his salt bargains for what he can take." Kaz all but spat out. There was a moment of silence when Dreesen stood only inches from Kaz. I noticed the Heartrender raise her hand.
"I have to be back in an hour." I followed Inej's gaze to her wrist were the brand was placed.
"Alright, come on." The merchant said stepping around us. With a smirk Kaz followed and we went after him.
He walked us to a wine cellar with a man tied down to a chair. I eyed him carefully noticing his awful state.
"Who's this?" Kaz asked making the merchant look to his prisoner.
"So you don't know everything after all." The man said happily. "This is Alexei Stepanov." He took of the bag and we all saw the bloodied face. "Two weeks ago, young Alexei here crossed through the Fold on foot. Alone."
"He should be dead." I said not believing the merchant. He walked to the alcohol he had close by.
"How?" Inej asked looking at Dreesen.
"They're keeping it quiet, but allegedly he was one of a few witnesses to an event." He said pouring himself water while Alexei looked around confused. He asked for water and Inej was quick to give him some.
"What kind of event?" Kaz asked watching the two in front of us.
"I know an expedition was swarmed by volcra. Should've been a total loss, but something happened." He said making me tense up. "I found her..". "Some device detonated. Obliterated the volcra, lit up the dark like a forest fire. I know it wasn't fire or else no one would have survived. This was some invention no one had seen before. He knows." Dreesen pointed at Alexei and put his glass down. "But he doesn't seem to be able to articulate his account of events. Some form of traumatic lapse." He said standing next to Kaz. Dreesen walked to stop by me close to the Heartrender. "So..." She walked up to the young man and I straightened up.
She whispered few sweet words before I could feel her science buzz around the room.
"Now you can just speak and I will just listen." She said softly making all of us concentrate.
"All right." He finally spoke up.
"Tell me what happened in the Fold. What saved you?" Her voice was kept light and soft with a sense of comfort to it.
"You won't believe me, but it was a Sun Summoner." He said almost in a daze like way. I noticed Inej pray silently, while we all stayed on alert. A Sun Summoner. He found her. He has her.
"Who was it?" Dreesen asked kneeling in front of Alexei.
"If I tell you, you'll set me free?" The prisoner asked making me look away.
"You have my word. I'll set you free." The merchant smiled lightly and Kaz took a deep breath in. "You're in Ketterdam now, Alexei. You can go anywhere in the world from here. Just imagine. Come on." He hesitated for a minute. Probably trying to imagine himself running far away from here.
"Her name is Alina Starkov." He said making me frown lightly. I never heard of a Grisha with that name and a child would never be able to protect a whole skiff from volcra.
"Alina Starkov. Good boy." Dreesen stood up and went to one of his men. "Show me the manifest."
"You'll set me free now?" Alexei asked tiredly and I knew he was close to collapsing even with the Heartrender's help.
"Thank you. Of course." Dreesen turned shooting Alexei straight in the forehead. The girl jumped back with blood splattered on her. I sighted walking up to her and slowly helping her stand up. I rubbed her back softly while she breathed heavily from the shock. "We are now the only people west of the Fold with this information. My ship sails for West Ravka at dawn. If you can prove that you have a way through the Fold and back, I'll put you on that ship with an advance. If you don't, I'm giving this job to Pekka Rollins." Dreesen said walking to the exit.
"Give me a day. I'll have a plan." Kaz spoke up turning to face the merchant. He stopped turning around.
"You have until sunrise, then your ship will have sailed, Mr. Brekker. The prize is one million kruge. Now bring me Alina Starkov." He said before walking out with his man following.

"General." A panting Inferni ran up to the General and his Oprichnik. "There's a group of Grisha outside." The man frowned confused.
"And?" He prompted the young boy who blinked quickly. He was one of the younger Grisha and as any other he was intimidated by his General.
"They.. um, it seems they run from the dr眉skelle. But they don't seem to trust us, said they'll wait for someone else." He informed looking from the man to the other one.
"Did they say who?" The General asked already moving to head outside.
"No. They only said they would not move inside without her. Whoever she is." His words made him even more confused. His Grisha came back to The Little Palace and didn't trust their own. And yet they waited for some woman?
He walked out to the courtyard and immediately noticed the group. They were huddled in the center, staying close to each other. He knew some of their faces, saw them around the Palace, they were gone for weeks now. One of the young men seemed to stand in front of the others. He was the only one not to glance to the gates.
"General." He nodded when the man finally reached them. His eyes scanned them once again. From up close he noticed the injuries. He clenched his jaw before looking back to the boy.
"Why are you not heading in?" He asked with curiousity and authority.
"We refuse to walk in without one of ours." He said confidently making the General raise a brow. "She was the one to save us, we'll wait here."
"She? Just one woman saved you from captivity?" His question was met with silence from the man in front of him.
"She took on eight of them." A girl from behind said with a small smile. "She's a Saint." Her voice was full of amazement towards the unknown saviour.
"Don't be ridiculous." Another boy snapped with irritation. "Just because she's quick to kill doesn't mean we should worship her."
"Believe what you want, Pavel. But we all saw what she can do." She snapped back with a huff.
Before the General could ask further about the mysterious woman a horse could be heard. They all turned to watch a woman clad in grey ride in. She stopped just a step behind the group before dismounting the grey horse. She walked up to stand beside the young man and facing the General. His eyes were focused on her already. He took note of each detail. The jewelry she wore, only golden rings. The silver lining on her cloak. The weird feeling he got when she neared him.
"Who are you?" He asked in his commanding voice. He was showing authority, the General everyone feared and respected. But she only smiled lightly.
"You do not know me." Her voice carried over the courtyard like a melody. "I am not one of yours."
"Show me your face." The General hissed loosing his patience with each minute. He did not like the open show she was putting on. An unknown Grisha entering his grounds and already having his people dote on her.
"As you wish." She nodded reaching up to her hood. Her hair flowed over her back, even after the long journey they looked flawless. Her eyes sparkled with amusement. Her lips stretched in a light smile. "The name's Y/N."
"You saved them?" He nodded to the group beside her. Her eyes fell to the Grisha and she send them a comforting smile, one a mother would to a child.
"I simply led them home." Her soft spoken words made something stirr inside him. He didn't like the unknown feeling.
"Lead them to the Healers. Feed them and let them rest." The General said to his Oprichnik who stood behind him. "And you, follow me. We'll have a talk."
He turned walking back into the Palace. She waved at the group and followed his steps. Her feet were silent, but he could hear her cloak swish behind her.
Her eyes wandered around the walls, taking note of each door and window. She was smart enough to count all the escape routes if it came to using one. His doors were guarded by Squallers and she spared them a glance to size her situation.
"How did you avoid my testers?" Was the first question he asked when the doors closed behind them. She hummed lightly looking around his office.
"I didn't. My powers weren't there when I was of age." Her words caused a slight panic to raise within him. No one became Grisha overnight.
"What do you mean?" His voice was still cold, even though she sensed the hint of confusion.
"I mean exactly what you fear, General." Her eyes finally met his gaze. He could see the darkness inside. She was not the innocent woman she seemed to be. There was knowledge to her gaze and he started to wonder if she was like him. If she could turn out to be his most loyal ally, or if she would be his greatest enemy. Slowly he walked to stand close to her, it did not intimidate her.
"Give me your arm." His words brought a sweet chuckle from her. But before he could reach out she grabbed his hand.
He felt it. The burning in his veins, like that day. Yet it did not irritate him like before. This time around he felt power, pure and unbreakable power flowing from her hand into his very own soul. He knew that feeling, he felt it before.
"You're no ordinary amplifier, are you?" He asked while she stepped back from him. Her eyes sparkled in the dim light of his office.
"Do you think I'd willingly come to you if I was?" He eyed her carefully while all she did was stand there like he could not hurt her, no matter how much he tried. "I'm much more than your Grisha. I'm more than you and your creation. I'm all you fear and dream of. I can be your salvation or death. For I'm everything here and in between."
"How is this possible?" The General asked frowning. For the first time in centuries his stomach twisted in fear.
"The world demands balance. You ruined it ages ago, Black Heretic." He straightened his back ready to threaten her for even suggesting it. "I should thank you actually. If not your doings I would not be reborn with the chance for revenge."
They stood facing each other. Him, a man that was feared by others. Someone with the power to cut the world apart. Her, a woman that came from nowhere. Someone that was ready to burn the world down, only for a moment of peace.
"Welcome to The Little Palace, Y/N." He said after few seconds and the smile she gave made him want to say it over and over again. The General felt even closer to achieving his dream with this mysterious woman filled by power.
