Watching Unmasked and this stuff is horrifying like actually blood curlingly disgusting and the fact that most of it is based on real life cases makes it so much worse.

After watching heroes trauma on call, study group and this one after the other, I realized they're all fantasies, just like the fantasies of romance dramas of the perfect men who will treat women like a queen and fulfill their every need and want.

Heroes trauma on call is the fantasy that there are doctors out there who will fight for your life and your health despite the healthcare system being a money business where all they care about is their bottom line.

Study group is a fantasy that there is someone out there who will save you from the bullies and school violence.

Unmasked is a fantasy that there reporters who will tell the truth, that horrible people who do monstrous things, cults, murderers, rapists, will get what's coming to them.

And it all boils down to the same thing, that you can stand up to the powerful, to the rich, to the ones who are responsible for everything.

And if the fact that these are all airing at the same time isn't an incredibly sad look into the state of the real world, I don't know what is.
