Lies and Discoveries Ch 13
Pairing: Toshinori Yagi x Reader
Link to ao3
A/N: I live in constant worry of mixing up All for One and One for All!
 ╭( ・ㅂ・)و
This was is a bit shorter, but we get back towards the plot! ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_
Tumblr media
Toshinori sat at the table, papers strewn about. He had lots of grading to do, and Aizawa needed the grades in by tomorrow. Between school during the day, and keeping up with Tsukauchi, the week had kind of gotten away from him. He had seen you frequently enough, but thankfully the two of you could sit in comfortable silence while you each did your own thing. It was nice just to know you were there yet undemanding of his attention.
You had given him a quick kiss to the forehead before going to take a shower, leaving him to his grading. The children weren’t doing too badly, which was a huge relief off Toshi’s chest. He hadn’t failed them completely as a teacher yet, even though some of them could do better.
A sudden shout from your bedroom rings out into the kitchen, startling Toshi a bit, adding an accidental mark onto the paper he was grading which he frowned at. “Everything alright?” he called out, capping the pen and setting it aside.
“Everything’s fine!” you shout back, swinging the bedroom door open. Suddenly, you come running down the hallway and sliding in the fuzzy socks Toshi had bought you. Your hair was still damp, dripping on the floor occasionally, your face excited as you held your phone up.
She’s wearing my clothes… Toshi thought with a blush. By clothes, he meant just a long t-shirt that was about the length of a dress on your body.  The neck nearly hung off your shoulder, lopsided in your rush to get to the kitchen. You nearly lose your footing before coming to a stop at the table. His eyes couldn’t help but wander up and down your body, causing his blood to pump quicker which would no doubt cause-
A coughing fit, complete with blood, interrupted you and whatever you were saying. He was sure he looked attractive, bleeding all over himself.
“Are you alright?” you ask him, rubbing his back a little. “Do you want a drink?”
Toshinori nodded, making sure to keep the blood contained and to not make a mess. After a second, you push a drink of water into his hands. He motions for you to continue talking while he drank, trying to get the coughing fit to stop. Not that seeing you in his shirt, nothing but his shirt, was helping much. Although, even thinking about it made him feel a little…distasteful. You weren’t a piece of meat to be ogled at… then again, he was your boyfriend… He was allowed to look without it being creepy, right?
“Are you listening, Yagi?” you ask him, head tilted sideways, hands on the table. “Everything alright?”
Toshi waves off your concern. “I’m fine, what were you excited about?”
One more look of concern was cast his way before it gave way to a giant smile. “Okay, so I know you have Tsukauchi on the whole All for One case, and trying to find his accomplices, so I made a couple phone calls and I wanted to see if you wanted a little more help?”
“Help?” Toshi asked, watching you practically glow with excitement. “What did you have in mind?”
Your smile went a little flat. “Well, I want to help you, obviously, but I figured we could still talk about it,” you told him. Then you continued, “I also asked my old team if they’d be interested in helping, and they agreed! Don’t worry, I didn’t tell them about you being All Might, but they do want to help find these villains. Plus, they owe me like half a million favors, and Rika is always willing to help.”
“You asked your old team to help me?”
Uncertainty flitted across your face for a few seconds. “Yes? I hope that was alright; I didn’t want to tell you until I knew for sure if they could help. I swear I didn’t tell them your secret, but I trust them with whatever information we’d give them.”
Toshi sat there silently for a moment, caught off guard a little. He wasn’t used to having others do so much to help him. As All Might he was always the one to help everyone around him. As Toshinori he kept his problems to himself. He hadn’t even had to ask you for help, you had figured everything out yourself. However, did he want you and your friends involved? He knew more than anyone that All for One was dangerous, he had the scars and a dead mentor to show for it.
“I’m sorry, Toshi. I should’ve asked you first, I’ll tell them never mind,” you smile apologetically before tapping at your phone quickly.
“No, no, it’s fine…” Toshi nearly leaps to reassure you, stopping you with a hand on yours. “I just…”
A focused look came across your face before you smiled, and Toshi knew you had used your quirk on him. He didn’t care in the slightest since he didn’t know how to voice all his thoughts properly anyway. “You’re worried. About the team or about All for One?”
“Both, I guess…”
“They can take care of themselves, especially if they’re working with the police and the detective,” you tell them. “Do you want me to tell them not to worry about it?”
After a few seconds, he shook his head. They could use all the help they could get, honestly. It would be selfish of him to decline help; the less time the villains were loose, the less people they could hurt. Since they had no real idea other than a target for All Might, they could have other plans in the works already. Toshinori just didn’t want anyone else hurt, but he knew realistically that it’d be impossible inevitability.
“You sure? I can text Rika and tell her not to worry about it,” you tell him.
“You trust them?”
“With my life,” you paused. “With your life.”
“Alright. Some more help wouldn’t hurt at this point,” Toshi agreed. “I’ll call Tsukauchi and let him know.” They really needed to make some headway with this. Toshinori didn’t care if he got attacked again, but the villains made it clear they didn’t care if his students were caught in the crossfire. That was something Toshinori couldn’t ignore.
“I’ll let the team know to get ahold of him,” you smile at Toshinori before texting away, then setting the phone on the table. “Alright, let’s get dinner started. I’m starving!”
And damn it if he couldn’t help the warmth in his chest and slight blush on his cheeks looking at you. “What are we making?”
“I am making dinner, and I’ll clean up as I do it, so you can focus on grading your papers. You were behind weren’t you?” you ask, already getting the dishes and utensils out of the cabinets.
Toshi looked at the papers with a frown. He was almost done, but still had plenty to do. After a couple seconds you stand behind him and rub his shoulders gently. The tension in his shoulders and the slight slouch went away as his head fell back.
“Finish the papers, and then we can eat dinner and cuddle on the couch, sound good?”
“Sounds perfect.”

A distant buzzing filtered into your dreams, almost pulling you back into consciousness.
“Sweetheart, wake up,” Toshi’s voice called quietly, before you felt a hand work its way over your scalp and through your hair. The nice dream slipped away to the warmth that was Toshi. You were laying on him on the couch as the two of you watched a movie. You didn’t even know when you fell asleep, but he had changed to a new movie already apparently. Yawning, you rub your cheek against his chest before he nudges you again. “Your mother is calling.”
You yawn, taking the phone from him before laying back down. “Hey, Mom, what’s up?” you mumble into the phone, snuggling back into Toshi’s chest until you were comfy again. Your mother always seemed to have impeccable timing for calling either when you were asleep or busy. You could feel Toshi’s chest rise as he chuckled at you.
“Mmmhmm….. Yeah, yeah… alright… No… yeah, that sounds good. See you soon!” You hang up and Toshi holds out his hand for your phone to put it back on the table for you. The blanket had fallen, and you took the opportunity to wrap yourself like a burrito. An advantage to having Toshinori as your boyfriend, other than basically everything, was that he had huge blankets!
“Everything alright?” he asked.
You nod, stifling a yawn. “My parents are coming into town this weekend. They decided to stay in a hotel, but we’re going to have dinner and do whatever they want for a couple days.”
“They’ve been planning this for a while, haven’t they? I’m sure they’ll enjoy spending time with you,” he smiled.
“Do you want to meet them?”
Toshinori looked at you, eyes widened with surprise. “You want me to meet them?” he asked, eyebrows furrowed a little.
Nodding, you reach up and play with his bangs to get them out of his face. “Of course, I do. But if you’re not ready, then it’s alright. They’d love to come back and visit some more, I’m sure.” Besides, meeting the family was a huge step in most relationships. The relationship was going well if you did say so yourself, especially after he finally told you about All Might, so it wasn’t a big deal if he didn’t want to meet your parents just yet. There’d be other chances in the future. However, you kind of wanted him to meet them.
“I’d like to meet them,” he told you, cradling your head in his hands to give you a quick kiss to your forehead. “I just wanted you to have time with them, too, since you haven’t seen them in a while.”
You sit up a bit and wiggle so he scoots over just enough to squish behind him and the back of the couch. “My mother has literally asked to meet you about thirty times; I talk about you all the time. I’m sure they’ll love seeing you.” The slight blush on Toshi’s cheeks goes unnoticed by you as you finally get comfortable being the big spoon before you fall back asleep again.
———————————-
“Don’t be nervous,” you tell Toshi, grabbing his hands.
“I can’t help it,” he sighed at you.
Using your quirk, you help him out a bit. You had already told him that your parents were pretty easygoing people. He still didn’t seem convinced, but you supposed there was no helping that. After a quick phone call to your parents the night before, you decided on a casual restaurant so Toshi could feel a bit more comfortable in regular clothes rather than something fancier.
“Mom!” you shout a few minutes later, seeing your parents walking down the sidewalk. Your mom beamed and ran up to you, nearly smothering you into a big hug, your dad following behind just shaking his head.
“My baby girl!” your mom said, squeezing you one last time before looking at you. “Are you alright? No injuries from the attack? You’re eating right, right?” Then she looked over at Toshi who was smiling down at your mom and you. Her eyes widened at Toshi. Your father finally caught up, giving you a quick hug, too, before stepping back.
“Mom, Dad, this is Toshinori Yagi; Toshi, this is my mom and dad,” you introduce.
“Hello, it’s very nice to meet you,” Toshi bowed, a slightly nervous smile on his face. “I hope it’s alright that I came along today.”
Your dad waved off his concern. “Of course, we’re the ones who invited you along in the first place.”
“He’s so tall!” your mother whispered to you. Toshi heard though and blushed a little. “So, tell me about yourself, Toshinori!” she continued as the four of you began to walk toward the restaurant. You chuckled as Toshi began stuttering, trying to figure out something to say. He seemed nervous again, but he really didn’t have to be. Instead, you hang back with your dad, letting the other two talk. “Do you have a quirk?”
“Umm, no, I was born without one,” Toshi told your mother. He had decided that’s what he was going to tell them if they asked, and you had told him whatever he wanted, you’d go with. Besides, it wasn’t like he could tell them he was All Might for his first time meeting your parents.
She gasped before pulling him to a stop. “You’re quirkless?!” Before you could tell her not to shout it to the world, her look of surprise faded into a giant grin. “I knew I liked you. See, us quirkless people have to stick together!” And then she started talking about people with quirks and how they were show offs. Bless Toshinori, he nodded along and listened to your mothers rambling about the handful of people she’d met without quirks and how they all had a group chat online to vent about quirks.
“I think she just added him to the chat,” your father laughed next to you. Sure enough, your mother pulled out her phone to get Toshi’s contact information and was typing like crazy, barely watching where she was going. “He seems nice.”
“Good aura vibes?” you ask, elbowing him slightly.  Your father could see people’s auras or energy around them. While they could fluctuate a little, he could also get a sense of someone, but he couldn’t affect them like your quirk could with emotions. You were pretty sure that was where your quirk came from.
He nodded while looking back and forth between the two of you. “You both get a little brighter when you see each other.”
A warmth fills your chest, and your heart beats with joy as Toshi looked back at you. How could just one person make you so happy? And he hadn’t even done anything, he was still talking with your mom just a couple feet in front of you. You were glad your dad could see it, too.
Your parents told you about their travels and what they were up to while you ate. Your mother seemed to love Toshinori, asking him all about what he does (he told them that he worked with All Might at U.A.) which your parents seemed impressed by; Your father asked if everything was going alright with your old work building (it was alright, but you needed a lot of money for a new one to be built and you were trying to decide if it was worth it); your mom told you that she had talked with Rika and the old team recently.
Overall, you’d say it went really well. Toshinori was noticeably calmer by the end of the meal, far more relaxed than you thought he’d be without your help, even though you knew there was nothing to worry about. The two of you wave at your parents as they get a ride back to their hotel, before heading towards the train to get back to Toshi’s house.
“That went well!” you beam up at him, finally entering his house after the train.
“It went better than I expected,” Toshi agreed, putting the leftovers in the fridge. “Your mother’s added me to her text group for those who are quirkless.”
Chuckling, you shake your head. You had figured as much. Before you had left for the restaurant, Toshi had told you that was what he wanted to tell them if the subject came up. You knew that would give something for your mom and him to talk about, hopefully taking off the edge of his nervousness. “I’m glad you liked them, and I already knew they’d like you.”
“Oh, really?” he asked, “Why?”
You told him about your father’s quirk and how he could see people’s auras. “He can see people, kind of like me and my quirk. They know I’m picky about the people that I keep around me, and that my judgement is good, so I knew they’d trust you were at least a decent person if I chose to date you.”
He looked at you with one of those small, happy smiles that made your heart melt. You didn’t get to see too many of those lately; not with the villain threats, hero work, and school.
From now on, you were going to try and make him smile like that as often as you could.

Not Alone
Dean x Reader Drabble
Word Count: 335
Warnings: Mention of death, angst
Is this how it was always going to be?
Tumblr media
You took one more swig of the handle and set it on the cold tile ground.
One thing you always looked forward to with showers was the steam building in the room. It was a sort of comfort, to feel the cloud of warm moisture as you inhaled, and the cool from exhale.
But this time - maybe from lack of energy, maybe from lack of care - the water ran cold.
You emerged you naked body into the shower, letting the water hit your face, drain through your hair, and travel down your body.
Slowly, your legs grew tired from the weight on your shoulders, and within moments, you were sitting down in the stand up shower.
Your eyes began to close, resting your head back against the wall. Tears, blending with the water droplets, fell down your checks.
The bathroom door creaked as someone entered. You didn’t care to look, until they pushed the curtains open.
It was Dean, standing tall yet broken. His breaths were heavy, and his eyes a sore red.
Had this hunt really taken a toll on everyone? The boys seemed to treat it like just another Tuesday, brushing that little girl’s death off like just another casualty of war. But as you looked up at Dean, it was almost as if he had removed his armor and stood before you in human form- human pain.
He was fully clothed, but didn’t seem to bother him as he entered the tub and sat in front of you.
The two of you stayed still, looking down and not speaking. The world seemed to slow around you. You listened as the water hit your skin and splashed the tub, hearing each drop.
You voice cracked as you spoke. “Does… does it ever get easier?”
Dean pulled you into him, pulling your face into his chest as he rested his head on top of your own. “No,” he said, “but… you will never be alone.”

“Hey, look!” Mina exclaimed, pointing across the street. Uraraka, Tsu, and herself were out eating lunch before having a study day at Uraraka’s house over the weekend. They had just finished eating, when a villain had tried to rob a nearby store. The street had been blocked off from traffic, and the sidewalks filled with pedestrians trying to see what happened. “It’s All Might Sensei!”
Sure enough, the Number One Hero let out his famous laugh as he caught the villains quickly, having stopped the criminal’s car as they tried to escape. Within a few minutes, All Might handed the villains over to the police and leapt away from the large group of onlookers who had gathered.
“One day, that’ll be us!” Mina fist-pumped with as much passion as she could. “Seriously, can you guys imagine it?! Saving people, having fans, stopping criminals!”
“It’s a lot of responsibility, too,” Tsu added.
Uraraka nodded sagely, the three girls avoided the large groups of people until they finally broke away to continue onto their original path to Uraraka’s house. It wasn’t long, only a few blocks away before Mina stopped herself in the middle of the sidewalk, holding her arms out to stop the other two. “Look!”
“Another villain?” Uraraka asked, looking around with narrowed eyes.
“Teacher’s assistant!” Mina pointed. Tsu and Uraraka sighed as their thoughts of danger passed. “I wonder what she’s doing?”
“She looks like she’s waiting for someone-“ Tsu started, before stopping as they saw someone approach their new teacher. The man was huge, had wild blond hair, and towered over almost everyone that walked by on the sidewalk. He was smiling and scratched the back of his head, while their teacher just shook her head at him with a fond smile. They began talking as they walked but were too far away for the girls to hear.
“We’ve been trying to see if she was with All Might, we didn’t think to ask if she had a boyfriend!” Mina snapped, their planning and scouting for nothing.
Tsu looked over at her friend, head tilted sideways. “You didn’t think of that?”
Mina looked away, slightly embarrassed as they continued on their way to Uraraka’s. She hadn’t thought of it, but she didn’t want to admit it out loud! “Anyway! What kind of person do you think that guy is?!” Then the girls proceeded to brainstorm who the man was. Just what kind of man would their teacher date?! Now Mina was even more intrigued.
-------------------------
“Do I have something on my face, or what?” you ask Toshinori after the next day of school. You didn’t get to be in Toshi’s hero class that day, but you had helped keep an eye on Aizawa on Nezu’s orders. Aizawa was still wrapped like a mummy but could still teach, you supposed. Although, you’d have to talk with him about his sleeping habits. He was dozing off far more in class while the students worked, and his emotions while he was asleep had you worried. Maybe you’d pull out some of your old therapist tricks to get him to talk to you.
Toshinori looked up at you from his desk chair, looking over you and your appearance quickly. “No? At least nothing I can see. Why?”
You take the desk chair next to his and wheel it close to him. “The students kept watching me today. Like more than normal,” you tell him, crossing your arms as you lean back. “Like the way they watch both of us when we’re in class together. Were they watching you today?”
“Not that I could tell,” he answered with a shrug.
Hmmmm… The two of you had already tried to distance yourselves in class to try and get the children off your backs. You had even asked Nezu to try and make sure the two of you wouldn’t have too many classes together to begin with. Nezu found it hilarious but decided to help keep the secret alive.
You sigh when you can’t think of anything and help Toshi grade some of the student’s homework. It was just a bit odd. You weren’t used to being watched so intensely; you were usually the one doing the watching for your clients. Oh well, you’d figure it out eventually.
-------------------------------
The Sports Festival was in full swing only a few days later. The students were all super eager and ready to take on whatever the festival decided to throw at them. You had the day off but spent it with Toshi as he watched the students with a couple of the other staff and teachers. It was a little bit into the festival when you decided to go get something for the both of you to snack on for a bit, but when you got back, Toshi was gone.
Where did he go? You wonder, walking through the empty hallways. Thank God that everyone was watching the matches. While being surrounded by people usually didn’t bother you, there was a nearly palpable excitement thanks to the festival and with your quirk, sometimes you felt people without wanting to.
“…whatever it takes, that kid of mine will beat you someday…”
Endeavor? You peaked over the ledge of the stairs, seeing All Might and Endeavor talking to each other on the floor below. Well, Endeavor was talking, Toshi just stood there watching the Number Two Hero speak.
“…I’ll make sure of it, that’s why I made him…”
Speaking of feeling things you didn’t want to, the intense anger and hatred that Endeavor was feeling made your stomach turn. Soon enough, the Number Two Hero left, nearly stomping his way down the hallway, taking his negative feelings with him. You couldn’t help the relieved sigh that escaped you when you could no longer feel Endeavor around. All Might looked up at you on the next floor and you waved at him. “You disappeared on me,” you said, walking down the stairs to him.
He looked around to make sure there was no one around before he changed back to normal. “I saw Endeavor and wanted to talk to him for a second,” he shrugged, grabbing your hand as you walked down the hallway.
“About that…” you start before stopping. How could you explain that Endeavor just didn’t feel right? He was the Number 2 Hero, and was fairly popular, but… “Just be careful around him, okay? I don’t like the way he feels when he’s around you.”
“You think he’s dangerous?” Toshi asked, holding open one of the doors back to the stands where you were sitting.
You can’t help the frustrated huff that leaves you; It was always hard to explain what you felt. “Not dangerous, per say, but definitely off. He’s got a lot of anger and hatred in him, it about made me sick and I wasn’t even talking with him. Plus, he clearly does not like you for whatever reason.”
You could tell Toshi didn’t completely believe you, or maybe understand what your concerns were, but he nodded anyway. “I’ll try to keep an eye out, but he’s always been a bit brash.”
Brash wasn’t quite what you called it, but you’d keep it to yourself for now. Then you wondered how the man acted when he wasn’t being a Hero; was he always like that? Or was there just stress from the job? You try to push the thoughts from your mind before you began to overthink it; instead, you try to focus on the upcoming matches and little games in between the matches that gave the students a small break.
When Midoriya was about to fight the kid from the General Studies class, Toshi said he wanted to get a closer look, to watch how his protégé did. It was close, the other kid having an interesting quirk. He’d be really good at interrogation, you couldn’t help but think.
Midoriya ended up winning the match, moving him along the bracket so he had to fight Todoroki next. The other students did really well, too, especially since it was their first year at U.A. Once it got to Midoriya’s next match with Endeavor’s son, the fighting got intense. Toshi reached out and grabbed you to shield you as the two students went at each other with everything they had causing a massive explosion that nearly wracked the whole building. You couldn’t imagine having that much power! And they were still children…
Toshi hadn’t gotten to tell Midoriya that you knew, so you let him go to the kid’s room to see him and Recovery Girl by himself. Instead, you walk around the building to stretch your legs as the other teachers fix the battle field. You may not be technically working, but you’d be damned if something happened while you were there, and you didn’t try to keep an eye out. Everyone was nearly bombarding you with excitement and energy until you had to focus on keeping yourself from quirking unintentionally and feeling everyone around you.
All in all, everything seemed to go relatively smoothly, and the festival ended well. You still wondered about Bakugo’s mental state as the ceremony, but you were proud of the ones that made it to the podium. You still teased Toshi over the missed opportunity for the “Plus Ultra!” catchphrase he enjoyed throwing around almost as much as his others.
“Ohmygod,” he groaned, covering his entire face with his hands to cover his blush. “I can’t believe I did that…”
“Don’t worry, I still love you, dorkiness and all,” you tell him, putting an arm around his torso as you walked home.

New Routine
(Destiel Short Fic)
Summary: Castiel tries to help Dean get for restful sleep by using his knowledge of a pop-culture movie.
Word Count: 1,200
Warnings: Little angst, nightmares, but mostly just fluff :)
A/N: So this was meant to just be a fluffy drabble, but my depressed ass went and added a bunch of angst to lead up to the fluff… Anyway, I hope y’all enjoy.
Tumblr media
Castiel recalled a movie he had seen several weeks before, where - in one scene - the main character was struggling to sleep. As the fictional female twisted and turned, sweat dripping from her forehead, and the bed covers spread to all corners of the room, her loved one joined her on the bed. Pulling her close to him, her ear explicitly above his heart, she almost instantly and subconsciously calmed down.
Castiel and Sam sat across from each other in the library. As Sam’s eyes were clearly growing heavier by minute, Castiel held perfect focus.
“Humans find comfort in company,” Castiel stated. “Don’t they?”

Sam looked up from his book and over to the angel (who, while Sam was doing important research for a case, was just staring off into the obis). Sam considered not answering his question, but he had to admit he was a little curious as to where Castiel was going with his inquiry.
“Well, I guess,” he said. “But it depends on the context. What does that have to do with the case at hand?”
“Actually a good deal,” Castiel answered. He turned his body to face Sam. “It’s proven that humans perform, both mentally and physically, better when they are well rested. Not only would it benefit you if you were to get a few extra hours, but it would benefit everyone if Dean got more hours of restful sleep.”
Sam huffed. “It’d be helpful if Dean was with us now, instead of drinking his way to sleep hours ago.”
“Dean is doing what he needs to in order to take care of himself,” Castiel said in defense. “But it’s not enough. He’s restless.”
“What do you mean?”
Castiel’s face dropped ever so slightly. “Dean hasn’t been sleeping well recently, or much of all for that matter. Most of the time he’ll sit there with his eyes wide awake, and even after passing out, he’ll still cry.”
“Wow,” Sam said after gaining insight on Dean he wasn’t even sure if he wanted to know. “How do you-”
“I watch you two sleep.” After seeing Sam’s face drop, Castiel quickly added, “For protection.”
“You stalk us,” Sam said.
“I like to think of it as keeping tabs.”
Sam shook his head, then closed his book and put it on the table. “Whatever you want to call it, my room is off limits from now on.” He stood up. “I think imma call it a night though. All this talk about sleep has-” he yawed, “you get the point.”
“Before you go to bed,” Castiel asked, “would you mind spending two minutes comforting Dean? I feel like mild cuddling would be beneficial.”
Sam raised his finger in rebuttal, but quickly decided he didn’t want to have that particular conversation with the angel. Lowering his finger with a sigh, Sam simply turned and began walking away. “I’ll leave that to you, Cas. Lemme know how it goes.”
Castiel had gotten much better at being able to identify and understand sarcasm, but Sam might have had a point. Although the brother’s connection was far greater than any other bond he had observed, there would be a certain awkwardness if Sam had been the one to aid Dean to sleep.
As they were not related, Castiel might have been a better option. Despite having no interest in cuddling, or even sleeping for that matter, Castiel had a slight cheer in his eyes as he made his way to Dean’s bedroom. The angel strode through the hallways with a purpose, his trench coat flowing behind him.
When he reached Dean’s bedroom, the shifting sheets became apparent from the other side of the door. Opening it, he saw Dean in distress upon the mess he had made of his bed. Sweat was dripping from his blood rushed head, and he was grasping the covers with his hands at both sides.
Castiel’s heart broke a little seeing Dean in so much pain that he couldn’t even find peace in his sleep. Castiel was bred with the purpose of constant battle, tiring days and nights without rest. But humans, they were fragile. With everything the boys had been through, Castiel was almost surprised they hadn’t already shattered.
Castiel examined Dean’s situation. Unlike the movie, where the girl was on her side and curled up, Dean laid on his back like a plank. It would be difficult to get him into a position where Castiel could hold him.
He instead decided on another approach.
Castiel walked slowly and calmly, trying not to awake Dean. He crawled onto the bed and to Dean’s left side. As he slid his right arm under Dean, almost to cradle the back of his neck, Castiel rested his head on Dean’s shoulder and placed his other arm on Dean’s chest.
Castiel noticed the smell and feeling of cold sweat on Dean’s entire body, but he didn’t mind it.
At first, Castiel got worried. Dean’s body didn’t change. It stayed tense, twitching uncontrollably at what Castiel assumed was a nightmare.
But then it happened.
As if instinct, Dean body relaxed and his left arm wrapped around Castiel. The way their bodies connected like puzzle pieces felt so natural to the angel. Within moments, Dean buried his face in Castiel’s mess of hair, and began to cry.
Castiel had seen Dean cry on several occasions, but not like this. Before, it was always a painful cry, either fueled by anger or loss, and powerful enough to break Dean. But this time was light. Not forced by any emotion, but rather as if a great weight had been lifted from Dean and he could finally feel safe enough giving in.
Dean’s breathing got smoother, his body temperature cooled, and his crying lessen until creasing. Before too long, he was in a deep rest.
Castiel’s original plan was to stay long enough to get Dean to sleep and then leave to continue research on their current case. But he no longer wanted to leave.
Of course, there was the small pride Castiel had from his plan actually succeeding, even with Sam’s doubt. But there’s was more of a comfort in Dean’s reaction. With Dean holding on to Castiel, lightly but certain, he would regret leaving.
On top of that, Castiel also felt relaxed from Dean’s hold. Always being caught up in a case or mission, Castiel rarely got a chance to simply rest. If the Winchesters got this privilege, why should he not?
Before to long, Castiel decided on staying with Dean for the night. He wouldn’t call it sleep, as angel were physically incapable of it, but as his eyes closed, Castiel mind was allowed this state of absolute blankness. His body melted into Dean’s, and he was at peace.
Obviously the conversation in the morning was awkward. At first, Dean was taken aback by waking up to the angel at his side, but as Castiel explained the previous night, Dean began to understand. And he even admitted to getting the best sleep he could remember in years.
Castiel was pleased with his efforts.
When Castiel and Dean entered the kitchen together that morning, with Dean wearing his embarrassed and frustrated ‘I don’t want to talk about it’ face, Sam, who was alreading sitting down eating his breakfast, shot wide eyes at the both of them.
Dean rushed to the refrigerator to grab his food.
Castiel had the mildest smirk on his face when he looked at Sam. The only words Castiel said were simply, “It went well,” in response to Sam's previous comment.
Castiel looked forward to making this a routine.

Sex Is No Proof- Destiel (Supernatural)
Summary: Dean walks into Cas watching some adult films. When he finds out the reason is not for Castiel’s pleasure, Dean must convince Cas that he’s enough.
Word Count: 560
Warnings: Mention of Porn (no description)
A/N: So I got this idea after watching the Pizza Man episode. Although there is mention of porn, this isn’t smut. It’s fluffy Destiel with a little insecure Cas and comforting Dean. Hope y'all enjoy!
Tumblr media
“Cas…” Dean stared at the angel on the couch, his own laptop on Castiel’s lap. “What the Hell are you doing?”
Castiel never took his eyes off the screen. “I was alone.”
“We talked about this, dude. No porn.” He shook his head, walking over.
“You said no porn when I was around others.” As soon as Dean stole the laptop, he looked up and added, “And I wasn’t around others.”

His Hair
Megstiel Drabble
Word Count: 370
Warnings: Fluff, Castiel’s Hair (which, tbh, might warrant a NSFW tag by itself)
A/N: Just a short little Megstiel fluff for y’all. -Admin Rachel
Tumblr media
Castiel stared at himself in the bathroom mirror, still slightly fogged from his warm shower. Simple human tasks such as bathing - although pointless to the angel - had a rather calming effect that he had grown attached to.
His hair was still damp and in a mess as he grabbed a small section. He twirled it around his finger, noticing how it had grown. Human hair grew, he thought. However, a human vessel didn’t age- or at least shouldn’t.
Castiel had keep note of Jimmy’s body aging. Although subtle, it was not as it should have been. He often wondered if, by spending as much time on Earth as he did, he was growing almost human.
The thought passed as it mattered little.
Castiel grabbed the scissors and raised them to the bunch of hair he held. Opening the pair, he took a deep breath.
“Woah, woah, slow down there, angel boy.” Meg enter the bathroom, shaking her head with a smile. “Now what exactly do you think you’re doing?”
“Cutting my hair,” he answered sternly. “A regular task,” he continued, “of which I didn’t think required interrogation.”
Meg smirked. She reached for the scissors, having to raise her feet in order to match his height. She took them, then returned them to their proper place amongst the bathroom shelves. “Well, you thought wrong.”
She walked closer to Castiel, looking up into his blue eyes. Running her fingers through his hair, she clenched her hand to pull him down into a kiss.
Castiel felt Meg’s lips form into a smile as he pulled her into his chest.
Kissing: another human task he had grown fond of.
When their makeout session ended, Meg returned her gaze to his hair. Shaking her hand through it, making more of a mess than it had originally been, she just smiled.
“Yeah,” she said, “there’s no way I’m ever letting you shorten this beautiful chaos you’ve got going on.”
Castiel thought for a moment. Although he was not much of a flirt, or even knew how to be a proper part of a relationship for that matter, he returned with, “Well, if it means more kisses like that, I’ll never want to cut it.”

Just this time, don’t bring me back.
^ A quote from a new fic I’m writing. It’s going to be angst, A LOT OF ANGST, and all the feels. I just finished the intro (a short little drabble to introduce the AU) and will hopefully be posting it later tonight.
I know I’ve been inactive for almost a year now (god damn…) but I’m really in love with this new series.
Comment if you wish to be tagged in any of it.

Lies and Discoveries Ch. 10
Pairing: Toshinori Yagi/All Might x Reader
Summary: You’ve been in a relationship with Toshinori Yagi for a while now, but you’re just now realizing that he’s been lying to you. Trying to get the truth out of the man is difficult when you can barely get ahold of him, let alone have a conversation with him…
A/N: link to ao3 ^_^
Tumblr media
“Honey, I’m hoooome!” you sing, walking inside Toshinori’s place after knocking.
Toshinori was in the kitchen where he was finishing the cooking, the table already set nicely. Toshi had cooked your favorite meal; you suspected it was because he was trying to soften you up for when he told you. Considering how anxious he felt, you could only assume he expected you to take the ‘news’ badly.
You wrap your arms around his torso as you came up behind him, laying a kiss on his back. “What’s cookin’ good lookin’?” you say, trying not to get in the way of him cooking. Thankfully, he was taller so unless you bumped his arms you weren’t really getting in the way.
He laughed outright, wrapping one arm around yours. The anxiety you could feel from him seemed to dissipate just a bit which made you feel better. “I’m almost finished here…you’re a little early, aren’t you?”
“Just excited for my surprise!” you tell him as you grab the two of you something to drink.
After a little bit, Toshi made you a plate and sat it down in front of you, taking his own seat next to you. The two of you make some idle chit chat as you eat about your day. You hadn’t been in class that day since Nezu had you doing more guard duty things instead of classes, but Toshi told you about how the students had also apparently destroyed a building… again, which made Aizawa give them extra homework on collateral damages in hero-work.
“I’m sure Iida loved that,” you snickered, thinking about the kid’s serious demeanor.
“He most definitely wasn’t happy about it,” Toshi laughed along with you.
Sitting back with a content sigh, you push your plate away from you. “I’m stuffed, babe. It was delicious, thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” he told you, surprisingly somber sounding.
“What’s wrong?”
He was silent for a few minutes, looking down into his plate. “It’s your surprise… I just don’t know how to… I’ve haven’t really had to do this before…” He started fidgeting with his fingers a little, but you just smile at him gently. You weren’t going to rush him, whatever it was, although you were pretty sure.
“I just wanted to tell you something; something I should’ve told you a while ago, honestly. And I didn’t mean to keep it from you for so long, but things just kind of got away from me and-“
“Toshi, just tell me,” you tell him, patiently waiting.
He took a deep breath and looked you at you directly. “I’m All Might.” You sit in silence for a few seconds, smiling at him, relieved that he had finally told you. “You… don’t seem all that surprised,” he muttered after those seconds of silence from you.
You scratch the back of your head. “Yeah, I’ve got something to tell you too… I’ve kinda known since right before I started at U.A…”
His face fell in shock as he stared at you. Then he sighed, shoulders falling as his head drooped, too.
“I should’ve told you, too, but I wanted you to be the one to tell me; I wanted you to trust me enough to tell me yourself,” you tell him, reaching forward to pat his arm. “Forgive me?”
“There’s nothing to forgive,” Toshi told you. “I’m the one who lied all the time when I went out or had to miss something. How’d you find out?”
You give him a somewhat deadpan look. “Empath, remember? I thought it was odd when the Number One Hero felt love for me when we hadn’t ever met. And… Yamada accidently gave you away, but don’t be mad at him!” You then explain to him what had happened when you found out he had gotten injured, and how you had run into Yamada as you had been searching for Recovery Girl. “I’m guessing he thought I knew already; maybe he saw us have lunch together a few times? I’m not sure.”
Toshinori sighed and gave you a small smile. “All that time stressing, and you already knew…” he muttered, running his hand through the back of his hair. “And you’re alright with it? That I’m All Might?”
“Are you kidding? How could I not be? Honestly, now that I know, I wonder how I hadn’t seen it before. You’re just a good person, Toshinori. There aren’t many like you, hero or civilian.”
He looked uncomfortable for a second. “I don’t want to be put on a pedestal; I’m not…perfect…” He wrapped his hand around his ribs softly, while he looked down at the table.
You felt a deep sadness coming from him, which is not something that you wanted him to feel. “Hey,” you get his attention, grabbing his arm. “I don’t think you’re perfect, you know. I don’t have you on some kind of pedestal or anything, before I knew you were All Might or now,” you tell him, waiting for him to look back up at you. When he does you give him a smirk, “It took you three times to finally realize that I was asking you out and flirting with you, remember? I just thought you weren’t into me.”
Thankfully, he laughed and the sadness he felt slowly warmed back to his general happiness when he was with you. “No, I’m just slightly awkward and didn’t think you’d want to date me.”
“Why not?” you ask him.
He sighed and seemed to curl into himself a little. “I used to look like All Might almost all the time, now look at me… I’m not exactly what I used to be.”
Pausing for a second, you look at your boyfriend. You knew he wanted to take his time with anything intimate, which was fine, he liked to go slow, but now you were starting to get the full picture. “Toshinori, there’s people who have animal bodies, extra limbs, people who just look non-human now thanks to their quirks, there’s nothing odd or unattractive to me about how you look.”
“I suppose you have a point,” he said quietly, looking at you with a small upturn of his lips. An unsaid ‘but’ remained at the end of his sentence, so you decided to move the conversation along. It wouldn’t do anyone any good dwelling on it or trying to convince him otherwise right now.
“Anyway, what is your quirk? I’m curious and there are literally thousands of speculations on the internet.”
“Did you look me up?”
You nodded, not even bothering trying to cover it up. There were hundreds of blogs and websites about All Might and who he could be and what his quirk was; There was also a few… dedicated blogs for All Might’s assets, but he didn’t need to know that. Then he begun to tell you about his past. He told you about One for All, and where the power originated. He told you about Nana, and how she had given him the power because he wanted to be something the people could believe in. Then he told you about All for One, and how he had a real-life nemesis, like in old comic books and movies.
“The last time we clashed was some time ago. I almost had him beat, but…” Toshi hesitantly raised his shirt up enough so you could see the spiderwebbed scar tissue that covered his side.
Your eyes widen quickly, he had told you about the injury, but you had never seen it. “That man… All for One, did that to you?” A fierce want to protect your boyfriend from any harm, even harm that had already happened, washed over you.
He nodded. “I got distracted, I didn’t keep my emotions under control. He got me, I got him, but he got away, while I was rushed to the hospital… breathe,” he told you, once he saw you tensed up in anger. “I’ve got people helping me keep an eye out.”
“That detective guy?” you ask. Toshi nodded. “I’m assuming he’s trustworthy…” If you ever got your hands on this All for One…well, you weren’t really sure what you could do to someone who even All Might had trouble taking down, but you’d try whatever you could if you got the chance.
To get away from the more serious topics, Toshinori then tells you about him finding a successor while he gathered up the dishes to clean up. You jump up and help him, asking him how he had picked Midoriya. The kid seemed like a good choice, being kind and ready to save people. Then he told you about how he was trying to figure out how to teach the young student how to control all of the power.
After a while, the two of you are done cleaning up and end up on the couch, your head laying on Toshi’s lap while your legs hang over the arm of the couch.
“You’re really okay with all this?” he asked, grabbing your hand and running his fingers through and over yours as you both relax. “There are villains after me specifically, and who knows what else. I don’t want you to be in danger because I’m All Might.”
“I don’t want you to be in danger at all, but we’re both heroes, you more so than me,” you tell him, grabbing his hand to kiss it. “I know there’s danger, it’s a part of the job, even if I haven’t technically been a hero in a while. I’m fine as long as we watch out for each other. No dealing with this by yourself,” you tell him, squinting your eyes at him since you knew he’d try to handle whatever he could on his own.
“I’ll try,” he said with a very unconvincing smile.
You hum, still eyeing him suspiciously. Then you jump up, excitedly. “So, show me!” He looked at you confused. “How do you become All Might?”
Suddenly, his body swelled up, All might’s large muscles pulling at Toshinori’s comfy clothes. Within seconds, All Might sat on the couch, causing it to creak dangerously under his new weight.
“Ohmygod, that’s awesome!” you gushed, having a slight fangirl moment. You had always liked All Might, even before you had met him. He wasn’t so popular for no reason. He stood and posed, somehow still looking heroic in his comfier house clothes. After a second, you motion for him to do a full circle so you can see, and while he looked confused, he still did it. “Yep, those blogs did you justice,” you whisper with a smirk as you check him out.
“What?” he asked over his shoulder.
“Nothing,” you chuckle as he finally faces you again. A couple moments later, steam begins to emanate from his body, and soon he’s back to Toshinori. He coughs up some blood after transforming back, and you run into the kitchen to grab him some napkins. “You alright?”
He coughed a few more times, but nodded.
“I’m glad you told me, Yagi,” you smile up at him as you hug him. “But there is one more thing that you should know…” you pause.
“What is it?”
You have to step back to look him in the eyes due to his height. “The students totally ship us, and are trying to get us together.”

Tumblr media
“Have you guys noticed All Might with the new teacher lady?” Mina asked as she sat down at her desk before class. Uraraka and Hagakure were standing nearby, comparing answers to their homework from the night, but were easily distracted by the gossip.
“No, what?” Tsu asked, tilting her head.
“They seem… close somehow, like more than friends,” Mina answered.
“How so?” Uraraka asked.
Mina pursed her lips for a moment before shrugging. “I don’t know how to explain it, but I’m keeping an eye out.” The girls agreed that they’d keep an eye out if the two teachers were in the class again. Soon after, Iida ran into the room, declaring that the day was about to begin.
“Seriously, look at them!” Mina whispered, pulling Uraraka and Hagakure aside.
The class was back at the USJ for their lesson, All Might had just played the villain. He was still stuck to the large slab of concrete due to Mineta’s quirk as the rest of the class walked away grumbling. The new assistant teacher had come along too, and was now doubled over and laughing at the Number 1 hero.
“I’m-I’m sorry,” you laughed at the hero, almost wheezing as you tried to cover your mouth. “You’re just-just-!” you can’t even finish due to laughing. All Might in turn pouted, feigning despair.
“How many people do you know that laugh at All Might straight to his face?” Mina pointed.
“Laughing isn’t exactly an indicator of them being close, though,” Hagakure muttered, her gloves and shoes turned towards the heroes.
“Who else is close enough to All Might that they can laugh at him and he seems alright with it?” Mina argued. The two were now talking, but you kept snickering every once in a while.
Uraraka shrugged. “Maybe they’re just friends or something? Remember, he has a girlfriend?”
“Maybe they broke up?” Tsuyu suggested. “Happens to people all the time.”
Mina suddenly snapped, eyes lighting up. “Or maybe that’s his girlfriend!”
“You guys shouldn’t jump to conclusions,” Jirou told the group of girls, walking over with Yaoyorozu. When the girls asked how she knew what they were talking about, Jirou merely pointed to her ears. “You guys weren’t exactly being quiet about it.”
“Either way, they look cute together,” Uraraka smiled. “Even if they’re just friends.”
“Time to find out if they’re dating! We’ve got our mission!” Mina said excitedly, fist-pumping the air.
Jirou shrugged and continued on the way towards Eraser Head and Thirteen.
“Alright,” Jirou said to the girls before class the next day. “I’m getting in on this ‘mission’.”
The girls were in the back of the classroom exchanging whatever information they had gathered. They hadn’t noticed much, but the general familiarity between the two seemed like a good indicator. They watched All Might with any of the other teachers as they trained and held classes, but you seemed like the one he was most familiar with.
“What happened?!” the girls exclaimed.
“I literally watched him leap from a window to help her carry some boxes that were delivered from the designing agency in the city,” Jirou said. “I was about to head home from a club meeting after school and watched him run to help.”
Each girl seemed to eat up the information with excitement, fitting it into what they already knew. They had also noticed that All Might usually seemed to be in a better mood when you accompanied their hero classes. He was never any less professional or went any easier on the students, but his mood seemed better than his normal jovialness.
“What’re you guys doing?” Midoriya asked coming up to see what his fellow classmates were up to.
“Deku! You’d probably know!” Uraraka gasped. “You’re like the All Might expert. Do you know who All Might’s girlfriend is? Is it the new assistant?”
Completely thrown off-guard, Midoriya began sputtering and talking too quickly. “I-uh-I d-don’t really know whoever she is… I didn’t even know he was dating anyone remember?”
Each girl nodded and kept talking while Midoriya sighed in relief. He felt like he dodged a bullet, and he was never more thankful for his slight awkwardness. He did know, but thankfully the girls didn’t push him farther. He figured his mentor wanted to keep you a secret for a reason, so Midoriya was going to do his best to keep it.
It was nearly a week later when you notice the students watching you closely, especially when the classes involved you and All Might working together. You weren’t sure why, but you weren’t sure you wanted to find out. Knowing Toshinori was more private as All Might, you try to not be as familiar with him as you want to be.
Currently, All Might was giving the class their lesson, which was over different types of natural disasters that the students might encounter. Tomorrow, they’d get their chance to go back to the USJ and use what they learned in class along with some quirk training. Most of the students listened with rapt attention, their minds focused on what the Symbol of Peace was telling them. They were also excited that they’d be using their quirks again soon. You had seen them during the first half of the day since Aizawa was at the hospital getting more check-ups to make sure he was healing alright, and the students were nearly zombies during the day.
Soon enough, the class was over, most of the students talking amongst the others while they finish their notes and putting away their stuff.
“Hey, Sensei,” Uraraka said as she approached the front of the class with Mina and Hagakure following behind her.
Since they were talking to All Might, who was gathering his papers and about to leave the classroom, you pull out your phone to check your messages before leaving. Your parents had been texting you recently, wanting to visit for a couple days and make sure you were alright with your old office getting blown up and the new job.
“Are you and your girlfriend still together?” Mina asked bluntly, keeping her voice quiet enough to not carry over the whole class. However, for you, who was sitting in a comfy chair off to the side, it was easily heard.
Shocked, you stop texting and look up to look at the girls and All Might. Had he told the children about you? And as All Might no less?
You feel All Might’s shock and sudden embarrassment as he pointedly does not look at you. His embarrassment made your heart beat quicker from your quirk, and you look at your phone to finish your text message to your parents to let them know you’d call them later.
“I… Yes, we are…” he managed to answer. “Why do you children want to know suddenly?”
Uraraka and Mina both shared a look before shrugging simultaneously. “Nothing really, just curious. We hadn’t heard anything since before.”
“…Alright, then!” he smiled, “I’ll see you students tomorrow!”
Standing to leave before he can sneak his way out, you get to the door first and walk with him on the way out. You can’t help your lips curling into a smile, and it had nothing to do with getting to see your parents sometime soon. “You have a girlfriend?” you can’t help but smirk up at him as you walk. Oh, this was going to be good.
“Yes, I do,” he told you, finally looking at you with his giant smile. However, you could still feel how awkward he felt on the inside.
“She must be amazing,” you said, feeling a little weird at knowing you were complimenting yourself in some roundabout way.
“She is,” he agreed, making it hard for you not to smile at the man like a hopeless, lovesick teenager.
Dammit, keep it together, you chided yourself. “Maybe we can all hang out. The teachers like to go out every once in a while, right? It’d be a nice way for me to meet everyone officially. I’ll see if Toshinori wants to come, too!”
“That sounds… great! We’ll have to ask around and see… Anyway, I’ve gotta go. See you tomorrow!” and then he was gone, running through the halls and disappearing before you could say bye. You waited for him to be gone for a few seconds before you fall into giggles.
He was just too damn cute! You just wished he’d finally tell you sooner rather than later. You wanted to tell him that you knew so badly, but you wanted him to tell you more. You wanted him to trust you enough to tell you himself. Hopefully, he would soon.
“Do you want to try mine?” Toshi asked, holding his smoothie out for you as the two of you walked along a nearby beach. It was sunset, and the two of you had went on a date and had a nice dinner for a change. He had also wanted to go watch a movie, but it had been sold out. To keep the date going, you decided that you needed to try one of the new coffee shops that were nearby that sold smoothies that Toshi could drink.
After drinks, Toshi had taken you to the beach to walk in the sand and water. He seemed to like this particular beach quite a bit for some reason. “Let’s go over there!” you point towards the little pier that went out into the ocean.
The sun began setting towards the horizon, nearly falling below it as you look over the railing at the water.
“See anything?” Toshi asks, leaning over next to you to look out as well.
“Just an attractive man at the pier,” you smile at him, flirting a bit. The sun made his hair look particularly blond as you watch him blush but smile back at you. He tried to point out some of the fish and animals he could see in the shallow water, but his height advantage didn’t quite give you the same viewpoint which only made him laugh at your pouting. To fix his height difference, he sat on the benches along the walls of the walk-way so the two of you were nearly eye-to-eye.
You stick your tongue out at him and look around the beach. No one seemed to be around the general vicinity, the only people you can sense are back on the street and not on the sand. “Hey, Yagi?” you ask him, double checking to make sure no one was nearby. Thankfully, the sun was below the horizon, making everything dark around you two.
“Hmm?” he hummed, looking at you while taking a drink of his smoothie.
“I know you don’t like too much PDA, but there’s no one around…and it’s dark…” you start, wondering what he’d say. “Can I kiss you?”
He stopped drinking to blink at you in surprise.
“You can say no, it’s fine. I know we’ve talked about boundaries and limits, and I completely respect yours so-“ you were cut off by him grabbing and kissing you suddenly. He tasted like the smoothie he was drinking, but honestly? You couldn’t care less. Setting your drink down somewhere, you grab his face with both hands and kiss him back. Thankfully, he was sitting down and you were still standing so the height difference wasn’t too great.
“Sorry, I interrupted you, what were you saying?” Toshi asked cheekily, not feeling the least bit sorry.
“Just that I respect your boundaries, you giant dork,” you sneak a small peck against his lips again before sitting next to him on the bench.
The two of you sit there quietly basking in each other’s company while the waves beat against the shore. You grab his hand and hold it, lacing your fingers through his. He was fine with handholding out in public, so you took full advantage of that whenever you could.
“Hey,” he said suddenly, leaning over to lay his head against yours. “What’re you doing tomorrow night after work?”
“Hmmmm… whatever you’ve got planned?”
“My place, tomorrow night for dinner, I’m cooking.”
“Sounds good,” you agree. “It’s not a special occasion is it? I didn’t forget our anniversary, did I?!” You could’ve sworn it was at least two or three weeks away from your six-month anniversary.
“No, it’s not. I’ve just got a…surprise for you…” he trailed off slowly.
Your eyes go wide for a split second before you look at him. Was he finally going to tell you?! “I do love surprises.”
Toshi just chucked weakly, “I hope so…” he stood up and pulled you up after him. “Anyway, let’s head back before it gets too late. Maybe we can catch a movie on TV before bed.”

Lies and Discoveries Ch. 8
Pairing: Toshinori Yagi/All Might x Reader
Summary: You’ve been in a relationship with Toshinori Yagi for a while now, but you’re just now realizing that he’s been lying to you. Trying to get the truth out of the man is difficult when you can barely get ahold of him, let alone have a conversation with him…
A/N: Here’s a link to chapter 1 on a03 if you’re interested...
Tumblr media
Team 4: Tenya Iida, Denki Kaminari, Minoru Mineta, Toru Hagakure
This team had been a bit harder for you to read. Each student seemed different, but determined to win and willing to work together to pass. Except maybe the little purple one, who spent a good time lamenting the fact that he got stuck with all men and one girl, who was invisible so he couldn’t actually see her. After an attempted leer at the invisible girl, the one yellow haired kid shocked him while the taller one thoroughly reprimanded him. You weren’t entirely sure that the invisible girl hadn’t slapped him, but suddenly the purple’s kid face went sideways quickly one time.
Using her invisibility to her advantage, you can sense her a bit as she crept around the building, forgoing her clothes to be completely invisible. The others were outside while she wandered around, looking through the building.
Well, if there was one student you’d expect to pass for a stealth mission, it’d be the invisible kid.
“Hagakure, do you know where the hostage is?” the tall one with the glasses asked, looking around.
“Yeah!” she told him, plucking her gloves from his arms so they knew where she was. “Upstairs, fourth room on the right,” she told them while you waited around the corner. “I didn’t see anyone else here.”
Nodding, the kid with the glasses took a running stance and sped upstairs quickly using his quirk. The others remained walking around, but you had to keep your quirk up to sense where the invisible girl was so you wouldn’t give yourself away. A few minutes later, All Might and the speedy kid came back downstairs.
Slowly, you follow behind them through the city. They’re nearly half a block in front of you and almost to the designated area before the students turn and the speedster kid runs at you quickly. You hadn’t realized they saw you, having stopped using your quirk to rest a bit.
Leaping backwards as the kid kicked at you lightning fast, you feel a rush of air as his foot just misses contact with your body. That would’ve hurt, you can’t help but think as you stagger backwards. He continues his assault as you do your best to dodge. Using what fighting techniques that Gunhead had taught you, you manage to keep the attacks at bay fairly easily even though the kid got a few hits on you with his speed.
As another powerful kick came at you, you feel arms grab you backwards and down onto the ground.
“Got her!” the invisible girl yelled. You felt a knee in your back as she kneeled on you.
“Excellent work, Hagakure!” the fast kid complimented.
“You guys got her!” the yellow haired kid came running up. As you struggle a little, he lets his hands spark with electricity. “Don’t move unless you want to get shocked.”
“You four did really well, and you managed to catch the villain,” All Might told them. “You worked really well together using Young Hagakure to explore without going undetected. Young Mineta, you could’ve done just a bit more, though. You let the others do most of the work.”
You had to agree. The purple kid, Mineta, didn’t do a whole lot to help out. He had just stayed with All Might while the others had fought you, and it was the others who did most of the searching for the hostage. The other three did well and had great quirks to work with. You were excited to see what they’d do with them as they grew as heroes.
“Team 5, you were the last to go…” All Might continued.
Team 5: Momo Yaoyorozu, Mina Ashido, Shoto Todoroki, Rikido Sato
The four students in the last group did really well. Which is no surprise since All Might had told you that two of them had gotten in on recommendations without having to take the tests. The taller girl seemed to have a very keen sense of observation, knowing what to do and how to get it done.
The others seemed to follow her instructions and suggestions easily enough, working well together. It seemed like the pink girl and the bigger boy let the other two take the lead. The red and white haired boy would freeze the inside of the buildings that they thought had All Might in, but they hadn’t reached you yet. It seemed a bit overkill, maybe not the best option for rescue missions, but you supposed it would incapacitate the enemy. As well as the hostages if they didn’t know the layout…
You waited inside the room with All Might for a few minutes, waiting for the children to make it to the building. “Not going to shout for help?” you ask him with a chuckle. He shrugs, giving you a far-too-innocent smile as he sat there. You eye him suspiciously as you head out to find the students. It didn’t take them long to find the right building, and even less time to find you and fight you.
Facing off with the students was a bit more difficult than some of the rest. With the ice kid’s powers, they kept you at bay while the pink girl had acids that you also had to dodge if you got too close. The other boy got stronger once he ate something from one of his pockets, but he was easily put to sleep since he was just a close-combat fighter. However, the three on one wasn’t much better.
The other girl was creating weapons and capture items that the students now had to help them. The ice that was being thrown at you, both wide attacks and precise attacks, were hard to dodge but you avoided a full-on confrontation by keeping close enough to the other students to make him think about hitting his classmates. He did manage to freeze your shoes to the floor, but you managed to slip your feet from your shoes once the pink girl’s simultaneous attack had melted the ice just enough.
As the three closed in on you, you push your quirk into the general area around you, causing them a sudden intense fear to make them hesitate. However, the ice-kid’s reaction to the fear made you stop short. He immediately flinched backward, creating a thick wall of ice between himself and you feeling like he was almost in a panic.
Such an intense reaction, you think, watching him closely. While you try to sense more from him, the taller girl captures you efficiently with a capture weapon and has the ice-kid watch you while they search the building for All Might.
“The four of you worked really well, each of you taking on an appropriate role in my rescue.”
The three of them looked happy, while the ice boy still looked a little blank-faced. You worried about the fear you felt from him earlier. What had caused it?  The therapist in you wanted to know, but that wasn’t your job for now. However, you’d keep an eye out.
“All right, I hope you students learned something today,” All Might told them. “Let’s get back to class.”
The students talk amongst themselves as they made their way back towards the main school building to change out of their hero costumes. You can’t help but smile as you watch them, their general enthusiasm for hero-ing rubbing off on you, even without your quirk. Some of the heroes you used to see had become cynical and hardened to most things. It was refreshing to watch the students ready to take on the world, even if they didn’t quite know what they were doing yet.
“Hey, Chiyo, have you seen-?” Toshinori started to ask as he walked through the nurse’s door that was open just slightly. However, he stopped mid-sentence when he saw you asleep in one of the beds after classes were over for the day.
“She’s been asleep for a little bit,” Recovery Girl answered. “What did you have her doing today?”
“She helped with a rescue training scenario. Why?” he asked, looking down at you. He only wished he got to watch you in person, or even on an actual mission. He felt like you’d be incredible, although the news about you working in Capture and Interrogation was quite the surprise. It was still a bit odd for him to pretend not to know you, but he tried to remember that All Might had only met you a couple of times.
The nurse sighed but stood from her chair. “Just keep an eye out for her so she doesn’t overdo her quirk for me, alright?”
Toshinori looked over to see a sad, worried look pass over the usually happy face of the older hero. “Chiyo?”
“If you want to know, you can ask her,” she said with a small smile. “Just keep an eye out on her; consider it a personal favor.”
Confused, and mildly worried, he nodded. He’d find a way to ask when you woke up and the two of you got back to one of your houses for the night. To pass the time, he waited beside the bed in a chair and graded the students on their performances during class.
He waited for a while, looking over at you every so often until you woke up and rubbed your eyes. God, you were adorable. “Long day, today?” he asked you with a small, fond smile. You grunted, squinting as the lights overhead shone down. “Are you ready to go home?”
Toshinori can’t help but chuckle at you, as you nod, still groggy from the nap. You seemed alright so far, even if a bit tired. You mumble something about a headache as Toshinori grabs your hand to link his arm with yours as the two of you head outside to hail a cab home.
“It’s good to be home,” you exhale while stretching as you walk in the door. Toshinori followed behind you, taking off his jacket to fold it over a kitchen chair. You could still feel a slight headache pounding at your temples, and you immediately headed for the bathroom.
“Still have a headache?” Toshinori asked you. Since your house was small, you could easily hear him down the small hallway that the bathroom and bedroom were located.
You didn’t bother using your quirk since your headache started, but if you didn’t know better, you’d say he sounded worried. “Yeah, I’ll be alright after some medicine and a shower.” Taking some pills for the headache, you walk back into the living room where Toshinori stood, slightly fidgeting with his hands.
“Umm… Recovery Girl said something earlier… And I was curious,” he started to say.
“She warned you about me overusing my quirk, didn’t she?”
He nodded silently, and patiently waited for you to answer, or tell him that you didn’t want to talk about it. But you wanted him to know, there wasn’t a reason for him not to. You grabbed his hands and lead him to the couch so the two of you can sit and be comfortable while you talk. “So my quirk, technically, let’s me sense the levels of neurotransmitters and chemicals in the brain. These readings translate into different emotions that I can read, sense, and alter,” you begin.
“My quirk works best in close quarters; it’s not suited for long distance.” Then you remember that Toshinori didn’t know you worked in the Capture and Interrogation unit, so you backtracked a little. You weren’t sure how he kept his two lives secret for so long. “I worked with the police before I became a therapist,” you tell him again. You have to hold in a laugh as he pretends to not know that. “I was the third best interrogator in the country,” you smile proudly. “Well, at least, I used to be. It’s been a few years.”
“I’m sure you’d still be amazing,” he tells you with a smile, running his hand through your hair.
“That almost sounds patronizing,” you stick your tongue out at him, before snuggling into his side. You weren’t missing the opportunity to curl up next to him, placing your legs over his while he sits back normally on the couch.
“Anyway,” you continue. “Sometimes if I use my quirk a lot, my own brain gets a bit mixed up in the process. I can get super emotional, depressed, or really anxious. The last case I worked on was intense. There had been a lot of children who had been kidnapped and our team was called in to help several different departments that were working together. It took a week to work through any and every suspect or criminal that we could get our hands on.”
You take a deep breath, remembering all the faces of the children and parents. “There were children of all ages and quirks. We all pushed ourselves well beyond our limits until all of us were exhausted. We worked around the clock, only sleeping in shifts for a couple hours at a time. I pushed my quirk far longer than I should’ve without a break; how could I not with so many kids in danger, you know?
“On the seventh day of non-stop interviews and interrogations, we managed to get a few reliable leads and found out where the kids were being held and saved them.” You still had dreams, both good and bad, about that night. You hated people targeting children in any way, and this case always found a way to work its way under your skin.
“Anyway, after making sure every child made it to the hospital for check-ups and what little help they needed, our team finally made our way home for some rest. When I got home, I was exhausted. I remember taking off my dirty clothes and crawling into bed… it gets a little fuzzy after that. I kept losing track of time, watching the sun come up, just to feel like I blinked and it was in the middle of the night.
“I was physically, mentally, and emotionally tired, to where I couldn’t even muster up the energy to move. There was a bottle of water on my nightstand that I wanted so badly, but I just couldn’t make myself move to get it. I was in and out of my own mind, sleeping and spacing out.”
He grabbed you a little tighter, pulling you as close as possible without squishing you to his torso.
“My best friend, Rika, who is also on the team, stopped by my house a few days later. When she found me, I was unresponsive and severely dehydrated. She grabbed me and immediately took me to the hospital, where I stayed for a few days, which is where I met Recovery Girl.”
“So that’s why she asked me for a favor,” he muttered, now rubbing your back slightly.
You nod and squeeze him a bit. “It was only the once, and I decided I couldn’t do that to myself again, so I stuck with rescue missions and worked on becoming a therapist instead, after taking classes and getting certified. I usually don’t use my quirk enough for it to affect me, but sometimes I can get headaches or just get really lethargic. I guess I used my quirk a bit more than I was used to in class today, so it caught me by surprise.”
“I’m sorry you had to go through all that,” he tells you with a kiss to your head. “But I’m glad you made it through alright. Others aren’t always so lucky.”
The two of you sat quietly, basking in the silence of the information you had told him. You didn’t think he’d baby you, but you knew he’d be there if you ever needed it. “I love you, Yagi,” you whisper to him. He squeezes you again, giving you another kiss. You knew he’d be red-faced and embarrassed, yet happy all the same.
Shortly after, you get into the shower making sure Toshinori ate something while you were in the bathroom. He wasn’t quite ready to share a shower with you yet, getting easily flustered and stuttered excuses, so you didn’t bother asking in case it made him uncomfortable. You figured he’d tell you when he was ready. Afterwards, you put on some comfy, fuzzy pajamas and crawl into bed with Toshinori, snuggling up again until you both fall asleep.
A/N: Let me know what you guys think! I don’t have the next chapter yet, but reviews make me work on them faster! If you have any cute fluffy ideas, let me know and I might put them in a future chapter! ^_^

Lies and Discoveries Ch. 7
Pairing: Toshinori Yagi/All Might x Reader
Words: 2k
Summary: You’ve been in a relationship with Toshinori Yagi for a while now, but you’re just now realizing that he’s been lying to you. Trying to get the truth out of the man is difficult when you can barely get ahold of him, let alone have a conversation with him...
A/N: I suck for not remembering I didn’t put this on here... The next one is finished too, so I’ll get that up soon! Also, let me know what you guys think!
Tumblr media
“So, students,” All Might tried to gather all of the student’s attention. All of you were in the basement of one of the buildings, looking at the giant screens of footage from the exercise. “Let’s review, shall we? What did you guys do right and wrong today?”
Some of the students look at you pointedly, each with varying degrees of intensity. One of them flat-out glared at you angrily. Chuckling nervously, you scratch the back of your head. “It wasn’t my fault you guys underestimated me. You have to be prepared for anything and everything.”
“She’s right,” All Might agreed. “There’s a countless number of things that can go wrong, that most likely will go wrong when you’re professional heroes. It’s your job to turn around any situation, putting yourselves on top. Team 1, let’s start with you,” All Might told them, hitting some buttons on a controller to get the correct footage onto the screens.
Team 1: Tsuyu Asui, Hanta Sero, Fumikage Tokoyami, Ochaco Uraraka
The layout of the building was fairly simple, just flooring and walls with some foundation strengthening columns going from the floors and to the ceilings. They probably got destroyed a lot, so you couldn’t blame them for not making them too intricate.
It took a few minutes for the students to make their way inside the right building. A girl and a boy walked through the door, silently.
They must’ve split up, you think, peaking around the corner of the wall. Not a bad idea. The girl and boy began whispering before the girl started to climb up the walls and headed your way, the boy following slowly as he looked around vigilantly. They should be glad you didn’t have time to set traps like most villains would. Since they were a couple floors away from All Might, you head the other direction to find the other two.
A boy with a bird head and another girl came in through another door on the other side of the building. She stood with her hands close, like she was prepared to touch her fingertips together. You wondered what kind of quirk she had. Then, an odd shadow-like creature emerged from the boy’s stomach to look around.
Let’s see what they can do, you think. Was it weird you were a little excited to engage these children in a mock simulation? Using your quirk, you make them feel uneasy and anxious, making them hesitate and proceed slower than before.
“Tokoyami,” she whispered. “Do you feel weird all of a sudden? Like, super anxious or something?”
He nodded, but continued on, even more on alert than he had been. “Be vigilant, Dark Shadow,” he said aloud, presumably to the shadow-like creature coming from him. At least they communicated with each other; Communication was crucial to any mission. Points for them.
Since the point of the exercise was to not engage and instead focus on stealth and rescue, you decided to let them sneak by you while you hid outside in the maze of hallways that lead every which way. However, you made sure to make them feel slightly more afraid the closer they got to All Might, which made them miss the room the first time they walked around the hall.
“Help! Someone help me! I’m being held hostage!”
You nearly burst into laughter and give yourself away hearing All Might’s voice echo through the halls, acting like a proper damsel in distress. The students turn quickly before nodding at each other and go into the proper room. You had stopped your quirk as you shake your head at your boyfriend. It was good to know he was still a giant dork, even as the Number 1 Hero.
As the students gather All Might, you suddenly see two white strips shoot past you and curve to wrap you up, keeping your arms at your side. Confused, you turn your head to spot the other boy with the wrappings coming from his elbows. That would be handy in capturing, you can’t help but admire. However, you could feel they were a bit lacking in strength. You weren’t for sure if it was because they knew it was a training exercise or if he needed to strengthen them altogether.
“Gotcha! Asui said she thought she saw someone creeping around here!” he exclaimed, a big smile on his face. The other two emerge from the room with All Might behind them, both students shocked to see you captured out in the hall.
All four of them seemed impressed with themselves, capturing the ‘villain’. They hadn’t even noticed you getting the small blade out of one of your pockets in your pants slowly, keeping it concealed with your fingers. However, you notice All Might noticing what you were doing, and you cock an eye brow at him. Was he going to snitch? While you wait for what he’d do, you see him shake his head slightly while looking at the tape around you.
Fine, you pout. You were effectively captured for the exercise...
As the students celebrate a job well done, you notice the tape slacken its hold around you until you can move your arms inches away from your body. You shoot All Might a look and pointedly move your arms as much as you could as the students talked amongst themselves. He looks at the students, looking at their happy faces, but knowing it was a preemptive celebration. He knew as well as you did that even a weak villain could escape and then they’d be in trouble.
Sighing, he nods slightly at you, giving you a silent go-ahead.
Smirking, you rip through the loose tape quickly, spinning and grabbing the tape to pull the boy closer. By the time the others react, you’ve got the tape kid and frog girl wrapped up, effectively neutralized. The shadow comes at you, but you dodge it easily, its movements much too easy to read. Before you can use your quirk to put the boy into a stasis, the girl smacks your back as you jump upward, making you float up into the air.
Well, that was a neat little quirk, you think as you rise to the ceiling, unable to move other than to flail a bit as you try to get your bearings. Once you reach the ceiling though, you push yourself back down at her quickly, neutralizing her as well. You drop to the ground and release your quirk from the children before it was too much on you.
“We lost sight of the overall mission,” the bird kid said stoically.
“We may have celebrated a bit early,” the tape kid offered, scratching his head.
“We let our guards down,” the girl with the floating quirk said, looking at the frog girl who nodded.
“Excellent! Use this as a learning experience, students, it can only help you!” All Might gave them a thumbs up. “Overall, you did fairly well with remaining quiet until you rescued me. Just make sure you work on your reconnaissance a little more. You guys also communicated well with each other, another essential part of being a hero!” You watch as the students go from disappointed to excited once again. It warmed your heart to see him do so well with the children, knowing it was a source of anxiety for him.
“Now Team 2, you guys did really well,” All Might complimented. “Young Jiro and Young Shoji were particularly useful and adept in this situation, and even Young Koda used some animals around the buildings to gather information. And Young Kirishima was ready to defend against any attacks that could have happened.”
You hadn’t really done much with those students. It seemed like the ones who had quirks that could be used for rescuing and gathering intel were mostly in one group. They had snuck around silently and quickly. You had to remain at a fair distance since they would hear you or see you thanks to the bigger kid’s odd quirk. Within several minutes, they had found All Might who was once again yelling for help and had made it out just as quickly. You hadn’t bothered fighting them since they were following their instructions well enough, and they’d find you if you got too close. If they ever had this same training again, you’d be sure to engage them in battle to see how they’d handle it. For their first-time practice, you’d say they’d passed with flying colors.
“Team 3? What did you do wrong?” All Might asked.
Team 3 was a completely different story.
Team 3: Mashirao Ojiro, Katsuki Bakugo, Yuga Aoyama, Izuku Midoriya
Apparently two of the students in the group did not get along. You had heard them talking (arguing) long before they even made it into the building, and they had even passed the right building as they argued outside. You watched them from the window, not even trying to hide.
“Kacchan, you shouldn’t just go off on our own!” Midoriya said, trying to half walk, half jog to catch up with the other one who was walking off on his own.
“Get lost, loser! I’ll save the hostage on my own!” You didn’t even need your quirk to see the kid was angry and irritable.
“Why is he so exhausting?” The one with the tail sighed, his tail flexing and moving as he walked.
“He just doesn’t have a sparkling personality like mine.”
You turn from the window and head back to All Might. “Is that one kid always so angry?” you ask him as you enter the large open room he was in.
“You must mean Young Bakugo…” he muttered. “Yes, he’s filled with pride, that one.”
“Pride isn’t the only thing that kid’s feeling. You think he’d attack me if I got close?”
“Absolutely. He’s a strong boy, and has a strong quirk, but his attitude towards others leaves something to be desired,” All Might told you. He felt guilty for a moment, like it was somehow his fault that he couldn’t change the child’s behavior.
“You gonna tell me what his quirk is before I go out there?” you ask him, before leaving again.
He shook his head. “Nope. You’ll figure it out quickly enough.”
You laugh and wave as you leave, knowing he was trusting you to handle the situation ‘like a villain’. Although, you still wanted to call him a meanie for not telling you. Oh well, you shrug. Time to find out what this kid’s problem was since they’d long forgotten the mission apparently.
Sure enough, as you make your way out of the building with the ‘hostage’, you see the other three headed back without the other. The three on their own do fairly well with being quiet and making their way through the streets quietly and subtly. Maybe they’d take it seriously enough since the other was not.
“You know going off on your own was probably the worst decision you could’ve made,” you tell the angry kid as you walk around the corner of the street to meet him as he stalked down the road. Before you continue, a bright light and explosion are headed your way. Thankfully, you duck out of the way just in time, though your suit gets singed a bit. Alright, explosion quirk… cool.
“I’m assuming you’re the villain?” the kid scoffs, walking towards you through the smoke.
“Well, I’m definitely not a hostage,” you say, facing him head on. Although, his quirk was going to be trouble. If you could, you’d definitely knock him out with your quirk, but you had to get closer which was going to be difficult with him creating explosions. “You know, you’ve basically already failed the exercise,” you tell him, provoking him.
You sense the surge of anger a second before another explosion blasts your direction. Barely dodging it, once again getting singed, you summersault forward to get in closer, trying to stay out of the range of the explosions that seemed to come from his hands. You feel a sense of satisfaction before he begins to fight you in close range, using his quirk to enhance his movements and make him a pretty tough opponent.
All Might did say he was good. And for a student, he definitely was. He could probably fight some adults too, but his emotions tended to get the best of him from what you could tell. It was all too easy to provoke him and use his anger against him to leave himself wide open enough, so you can kick one of his legs out from under him. As he tries to use his explosions to maneuver the attack, you grab his arm and slam him to the ground face first, making sure his hand is pressed against his own back, so he couldn’t explode you, the other arm being held down by your leg.
He began yelling and trying to get away before you use your quirk and calm him down. “Lesson time; going off on your own is just plain stupid. You can’t be a good hero on your own, it’s that simple. What if there were more villains than just me? I’m assuming you’re one of the stronger children here, but you’re already captured while the others have probably saved All Might by now.”
His anger flares up again, but you level it out easily enough. “If you’re the strongest of the group and you’re captured, what’s to stop a real villain from killing you right here and then finishing off everyone else? How is that heroic?” You wait to see if he’ll respond, but other than a few half-hearted struggles thanks to your quirk, he doesn’t say anything else. Making him extremely lethargic and calm, you step off him and grab his shirt to drag him towards his teammates.
“Kacchan!” Midoriya’s voice shouted. You look over to see the other three students with All Might trailing behind them.
“Don’t worry, he’s fine,” you grin. A look of determination took over Midoriya’s face as he looked at you with Bakugo hanging from your grip. “What are you going to do, little heroes? Save your friend? Or save the hostage?”
Each one of the students looked at you and Bakugo, and you could tell that they weighed the mission against saving a friend. Before they could officially decide as a team, All Might declared, “Times up!”
“Our teamwork was lacking,” the kid with the tail offered.
“Your teamwork was nearly nonexistent,” you interrupted. “I could hear you all arguing from a block away before he went off on his own,” you finish with a point to Bakugo.
“As a hero there are many others you will have to work with,” All Might told them. “Some of them may not have quirks that work well together, sometimes personalities clash, but it is ultimately your job as a hero to put those difficulties aside and achieve your goal by working together.”
Bakugo just grumbled off to the side, his face twisted in irritation and anger. He didn’t have another outburst though, so you figured he was mostly alright. The other three looked thoroughly chastised and nodded as they thought over what had happened.
“Now, Team 4?” All Might continued. “How do you think you did?”

Lies and Discoveries Ch. 6
Pairing: Toshinori Yagi/All Might x Reader
Words: 2k
Summary: You've been in a relationship with Toshinori Yagi for a while now, but you're just now realizing that he's been lying to you. Trying to get the truth out of the man is difficult when you can barely get ahold of him, let alone have a conversation with him...
A/N: For you anons! I meant to upload this last night, but forgot. Real life is hectic, and work sucks. The usual. Hope you guys like it!
Tumblr media
Chiyo remained silent, but her silence told you enough. “It’s true, isn’t it?” you ask again, a tone of disbelief. “Who all knows?”
Finally, she sighs. “The staff knows, and that young detective from earlier.”
"…Toshinori is All Might…” you repeat quietly, still processing it. How had you not noticed?! Well, maybe you had. All the times he disappeared, or missed a date… You pull out your phone to look through any old messages you had from him. As you look through them, you see one: I was actually worried something had happened. All Might had run into you not long before you had gotten that message… he had come to check on you. He had also saved you from that explosion the day before that.
Well, the love you had felt from him made sense now.
You look up other dates he had missed. A missed dinner was a car accident that caused a pile up. A missed movie date was a villain who had taken dozens hostage… A no show was an explosion in some factory with several injured… The list went on. “Am I selfish, Chiyo?” After her confused look, you continue. “I basically told him to spend some more time with me instead of saving people…” Why hadn’t he just told you?
Her cane lightly hits your leg. “You’re not selfish. That man needs to relax a bit and quit trying to shoulder everyone’s burdens constantly. All Might is the Symbol of Peace, but sometimes I wonder if we rely on him a bit too much.”
“Do I tell him that I know?” you ask her. It was his secret to tell, even if you found out before he could tell you. Why had he wanted to keep it a secret from you after so long anyway? It wasn’t like it changed a whole lot. He was still Toshinori, albeit it, there was just another side of him you hadn’t seen yet. Should you wait for him to tell you about it? “And what if I take the job? We’d be around each other a lot more. There’s couples who can’t work together and see each other all the time, what if he-“
This time the cane hit your leg a bit harder. “That man is head over heels for you. He was also another who suggested you’d be good for the job. The two of you need to talk, but I’d let yourself have some time to process first,” she told you with a warm smile. “Definitely give him time to heal and deal with doing all his reports for the police and the school. You should also take the job, you’d be foolish not to.”
“What would I do without you?”
“Not sure; make dumb decisions probably. Now go home, and rest,” she ordered.
You did as she said, calling a cab to take you home. You hadn’t gotten a text from Toshinori yet, and you didn’t quite know what to say to text him first. Toshinori was All Might! How could you sit on this information for a while without talking to him about it?!
“Principal Nezu?” you knock on the half-opened door. It was your first day at U.A. and the principal had told you that he’d show you around so you could see the campus.
After giving the students a day off so they can rest and process what happened, everything seemed to be back to normal. Or as normal as they could get, anyway. After calling Nezu to accept the job, you had spent the day visiting the designing agency that the school used to create yourself a hero costume; together with the designers you came up with a simple jumpsuit with a bunch of hidden pockets. It had been a while since you needed a hero costume. Since what you wanted was fairly simple and you didn’t particularly want to grab attention with it, the process didn’t take too long and they’d have it within the next day or so.
You hadn’t gotten to see Toshinori or talk to him much, other than some text messages and a quick phone call or two. He was mostly in meetings between the school and with that detective, so you tried not to bother him too much even though you wanted to ask him about everything. You’d just have to be patient, something you could do… for a while anyway.
“Good morning,” the principal’s voice called as you opened the door slowly. “Give me just a second and I’ll show you around.” The mouse finished up with some papers and hopped down from his chair to walk beside you through the hallways. On the way, he hands you a map of the huge campus to help you see how many buildings and training grounds there were for the students to use. You hadn’t quite realized how big the campus was! The school had everything! While walking, Nezu asked if he could ride on your shoulder. You had noticed he would lag behind after a particularly longer walk, so you agreed. He climbed up easily after thanking you and made himself comfortable on your shoulder to point at interesting buildings and areas.
“So, what am I going to start with?” you ask him.
“It’s almost lunch, but if you don’t mind, I’d like for you to head over to Class 1-A to sense the students afterwards. I want to make sure none of them are scared. While we try to prepare them for what can happen out in the real world, they are still first years; I want to make sure they feel safe here at U.A.”
The two of you make it through the campus, ending in the cafeteria where he shows you where to order your food should you want to. The teachers and staff had a special counter, so they wouldn’t have to wait for all the students to get through their lines.
“They should have some hero training to do in one of the training facilities after a quick meeting with their teacher,” Principal Nezu continued. “I’ll send you a schedule of the classes and the faculty by the end of the day. If you need anything, come by my office and I’ll help. I’ve already told the 1-A teachers that you’d be around, so they should be expecting you as you come and go.”
“Thank you, Principal Nezu,” you smile down at the mouse. “I’ll do my best.” He gives you one last smile and a wave as he makes his way back to his office.
Eating quickly at a table by yourself, you use your quirk to get a general sense of the students and faculty. Everyone seemed pretty happy, if a little tired or stressed from classes. While you ate, you tried looking around for All Might, or even Toshinori, but you didn’t see either one. You still weren’t sure how to go about talking to him, or telling him what you felt because you had no idea, but it’d be nice to see your boyfriend after a long couple of days.
Once lunch is over, you throw away your trash and head through the classroom halls. Several floors were dedicated to each of the four classes of students; the hero, general, support, and business classes. Each student you pass by has their own styles and quirks, some more apparent than others. It almost made you miss your hero classes back in the day.
“Class 1-A, 1-A,” you mutter to yourself, looking at the class signs as you walk. “Here it is.”
You pause when you hear, “Alright, students! Let’s get ready for Ground Beta for some Rescue training!” a loud voice inside declared. You heart beat a little faster at the voice. Toshinori- All Might was inside, teaching the kids. You knock politely and wait, not wanting to interrupt class too badly. Suddenly, the door slid open, your vision being taken over by a red and blue costume. You blink at the hero’s chest, before looking up to his face with a small (slightly awkward) smile.
Surprise flutters through the both of you, until you finally shake yourself minutely. “Hi, All Might! Principal Nezu told me to help out in the class for today?” you say, trying to keep your emotions under control.
“Right…Great! We’re headed to Ground Beta for some rescue training,” he told you after a second. Some student’s faces popped up next to All Might’s torso, confused as to why he was just standing in the doorway. “Students, we’ll have a new addition to the classroom for today,” he told them, stepping aside to let them out first. As he introduces you, you smile and wave at the students, some of them looking you over and politely waving back.
Each student files out, some far more excited than others. You notice Midoriya look between All Might and yourself quickly before continuing on with his peers. Did he know about Toshinori? You wonder, eyeing the child with mild suspicion.
“So you took the job; that’s great!” All Might smiled down at you, falling behind the students to speak with you. This time, you purposely use your quirk to read him. His general happiness seemed more acute today as he walked next to you, which made you smile a bit. You just hoped it was because he missed you as much as you had missed him. However, you’d do your best to treat him professionally since you had really only talked to All Might a few times.
“Yeah, it definitely beats fighting for interviews,” you shrug. “I heard you recommended me, thank you. It’s incredible being recommended by the Number One Hero.”
He laughed and beamed down at you, though you could feel he was a little embarrassed. “You’re work with the hero community is recommendation enough!”
The walk didn’t last long, just a few minutes, but it was long enough so you could easily read the students on the way. If you hadn’t known better, you wouldn’t have guessed that these kids were attacked a day ago from real villains. Especially since they were first years, who still hadn’t gone through much training at all and probably had an idolized vision of heroes in their heads. Overall, most of them still seemed excited and ready to learn; Principal Nezu would be glad to hear that.
Ground Beta stood tall and imposing as you walked to the training ground. You whistled, wishing that you had this much training opportunity when you were young and in hero school. U.A. was the best for a reason, you supposed.
“All right, everyone this way!” All Might lead the way inside. “Today we’ll be working on a stealth rescue mission. You’ll be in teams of four, and will have to rescue the ‘hostage’ and make your way to a designated area to win. The main goal of this exercise is to find the hostage, and make it back safely with minimal confrontation, so no injuring yourselves or others. There may also be a villain lurking around, so always be vigilant!” He gave out the teams of four, and gave them their designated spots to begin from. Each group would start from another part of the ‘city’ and the hostage would find a new location after one group passed or failed so each group would be starting from scratch without watching the other students. “Would you like to be the hostage?” All Might asked you with his trademark smile, standing tall over you.
Is Toshinori that tall? You wonder for a second, before nodding your answer. Toshinori does tend to hunch down though… He did like to make himself seem smaller most of the time. You grab All Might’s hand as he holds it out to leap with you through the city to a random building of his choosing.
“You know having me be the hostage is a little cliche,” you mention offhandedly as he set you down on the roof of a building. The room inside the building he chose only had two doors to get in, the rest of the room bereft of anything else. “Are you trying to say I couldn’t be a villain? Or am I just a girl who can’t defend herself?”
It was almost comical to see All Might as he vehemently denied anything of the sort. “I’m just kidding,” you tell him, laughing at his reaction, shoulders shaking slightly from trying to not be loud. If it were anyone but All Might, you’d probably think they were a little sexist. “It could be a good idea though,” you continue. “They’re probably expecting me to be the hostage and you the potential villain, they know what to look out for. I’m a complete wildcard if I’m the villain, the way it usually is out there in reality.”
All Might hummed to himself for a moment before nodding. “Good point… Very well, I will be the hostage this time. Do your best as a villain! Going easy on them because they’re children won’t do them any favors.”
“You think I’d go easy on them?” Sure, you wouldn’t go all out, but you definitely wouldn’t go easy on them.
He shrugged and sat on the floor, pretending to be caught. “You seem nice enough.”
You seem nice enough, he says… “Did Nezu happen to tell you what I did before I became a therapist to the heroes?” He shook his head no. You supposed since you knew his secret, you could tell him one of yours. “I was a part of a specialized unit that worked along with the police all over the country, the best of the best.”
“Special unit? Which one?”
You lock one of the doors and walk towards the other one, opening it slightly, ready to go see what these kids were made of. Flashing All Might a smug grin, you answer.
“Capture and Interrogation.”
