To summarise the DL announcements from the showcase:

Digital distribution of the original Do-S and Versus CDs, along with the More Blood CDs

New project: Song of Emblem Four CDs that will feature a song and drama featuring ONE character from each family (Ayato, Kou, Carla and Kino). As far as I can tell at the moment it doesn't look like the others are going to make an appearance (at least definitely not in the main drama track/songs). I think this is what was meant to be released as House of Vampire but they have rebranded it for some reason. It's been so long since House of Vampire was announced that I can't remember the details, I know that the songs were always meant to be sung by one member of each family but I don't think it was ever made clear who would show up in the drama portion? I wonder whether it was originally meant to include more/all of the characters but with all the VA drama they had to change it and thus the rebrand (this is just speculation on my part, Rejet have not said anything about it).

Switch port of Dark Fate and Lunatic Parade (looks like it's going to be a combined port)

Dark Fate and Lunatic Parade seems like a slightly weird combo to me given that as far as I'm aware, there is no switch port for Vandead Carnival and there definitely isn't one for Lost Eden so it leaves two DL games not available on Switch but I definitely don't think you can combine Vandead Carnival and Lost Eden.

Anyway, I'm glad we are finally getting some non-merch DL content and I'm very happy for Ayato, Kou, Carla and Kino fans.

... However this also means Shin is now going to be the only character without a solo song OTL

It had been a few weeks since you first started talking to Subaru, or, more accurately, trying to talk to him. He still flinched every time you appeared beside him, still looked away when you smiled too brightly, and still muttered things under his breath that you pretended not to hear.

But he didn’t walk away anymore.

That alone felt like progress.

You had started sitting near him at lunch, just close enough to make your presence known but not enough to corner him. Your friends had begun to tease you, whispering behind their hands about your “new crush,” but you didn’t care. There was something about Subaru that felt real, raw in a way that none of your polished, charming classmates could ever compare to.

Today, you caught him slipping out of class early, again.

“Subaru!” you called out, jogging after him down the hallway. He stiffened, halting mid step like he’d been caught red handed. “You ditching again?”

“Tch. What do you want now?” he grumbled, not meeting your eyes.

You leaned against the lockers beside him, arms crossed, pretending not to notice the way his eyes darted to your tattoos peeking just under the sleeves of your blouse, subtle, elegant lines that added to your unique edge.

“You never stick around,” you said, tilting your head. “Starting to think you’re avoiding me.”

He turned his face away. “Don’t flatter yourself.”

You smiled, not phased in the slightest. “You’re cute when you get flustered, you know that?”

His ears turned red. “Sh-Shut up…”

You laughed softly, brushing your hair behind your ear. “Come on. Walk with me?”

He hesitated. Long enough that you thought he’d refuse. But then he sighed and fell into step beside you, quiet and awkward, but still there.

And that was enough.

You didn’t push. You didn’t pry. You just talked, about nonsense, your day, things that didn’t matter but made him glance your way, even if only for a moment.

And when your hand brushed his by accident, you swore you felt a spark.

You didn’t expect him to walk with you for long. Honestly, you thought he’d dip the second the hallway turned quiet, but he didn’t. He stayed.

Subaru kept his hands shoved in his pockets, his eyes flicking between the floor and the walls, as if looking directly at you might somehow burn him. You didn’t mind. You were used to attention, loud, constant, and mostly shallow. But this? The silence with him felt almost… sincere.

“So,” you began casually, swinging your bag over your shoulder, “do you ever do anything after school besides vanish?”

He scoffed. “I don’t vanish. I just don’t waste my time with useless crap like clubs.”

You gave him a playful nudge with your elbow. “You’re saying I waste my time?”

He looked flustered for half a second, and then rolled his eyes. “Obviously.”

You gasped dramatically. “Subaru! You wound me.”

He let out a barely-there chuckle. It was so soft you might’ve missed it if you weren’t paying attention. But you were. You were always paying attention to him.

As you exited the building together, the cool afternoon breeze ruffled your hair, and you turned to him again. “Hey,” you said, stopping in your tracks. “Wanna hang out for a bit?”

He froze like you just asked him to propose.

“Hang out?” he repeated.

“Yeah. You don’t have to, obviously. But I was gonna grab a coffee or something, maybe sit in the sun like a normal person. You could sit near me. Or ten feet away, whatever fits your aesthetic.”

His face turned bright red. “Why would you want me there?”

You blinked, then smiled, a little softer this time. “Because I like your company. Even when you’re quiet. Especially then.”

Subaru didn’t say anything for a moment. You could see him wrestling with himself. And just when you thought he might bolt—

“…Fine.”

Your eyes lit up. “Really?”

“But don’t make it a big deal,” he muttered, already walking ahead like he didn’t just agree to spend time with the school’s most sociable girl.

You caught up easily. “Deal. No big deal at all.”

But it was a big deal, because that day, as you sat beside each other at the café, you saw him glance at your hand again. This time, you let it rest between you on the table.

And after a long pause, Subaru’s fingers brushed against yours.

Not on accident this time.

The coffee shop wasn’t crowded, just a quiet place where you could talk without the constant noise of the school hallways. You sat across from Subaru, the tension between you two softer now, like the air before a storm.

You noticed the way his eyes flicked down to your hand on the table, the way he hovered just a little closer than usual. It was strange, this connection that had formed so quietly, almost unspoken. But you liked it. You liked the quietness he brought, the way he didn’t demand your attention the way everyone else did.

Subaru, however, seemed completely oblivious to the fact that his hand was just inches away from yours.

You were starting to get a little bold.

“So, what do you actually do after school then, Subaru?” you asked, your voice casual but the question curious.

He shifted, clearly not expecting the question. “Nothing… just go home.”

You raised an eyebrow. “That’s it? Just… go home and be broody?”

He shot you a look, but you could see the hint of a smirk on his lips. “Maybe. What’s it to you?”

You smiled, leaning in just a little, feeling the rush of warmth. “Nothing, really. Just… curious.”

The moment felt almost too perfect, you almost could reach across the table and just touch his hand, maybe give him the reassurance he didn’t know he needed.

But then, just as you were about to say something else, a loud voice interrupted, sending the two of you snapping back to reality.

“Hey, there you are, you idiot!”

You both turned, eyes meeting a new figure entering the café. A guy from Subaru’s class, someone you recognized but never really talked to.

The guy’s eyes flickered between you and Subaru before he grinned mischievously. “What’s this? The quiet guy finally found someone to hang with?”

Subaru’s face went red, his body going rigid. “Shut up, Kaito.”

You gave Kaito a polite smile, but you could feel Subaru’s tension growing. He shifted in his seat, visibly uncomfortable. You weren’t sure why he looked so… possessive, but something in his expression told you that this wasn’t just some casual hangout for him.

The guy didn’t notice Subaru’s discomfort, however, and kept talking.

“So, you two like… a thing now? Or is this just some kind of bet?” Kaito teased, laughing at his own joke.

Subaru’s eyes flashed, his usual reserved demeanor cracking for just a moment. “I said, shut up.”

There was a moment of silence. Then, Subaru did something you didn’t expect, he reached over and, without thinking, grabbed your hand.

His fingers were warm, and the gesture was uncharacteristically protective. It wasn’t like he was asking permission, just… taking hold, keeping you close.

The move didn’t go unnoticed by Kaito, who raised an eyebrow. “Whoa, okay. Didn’t think you had it in you, Sakamaki.”

You met Subaru’s gaze, his eyes wide for a second, as if he hadn’t fully realized what he’d done either.

But neither of you said anything.

The tension hung heavy, thick and unspoken.

And just as Kaito was about to speak again, Subaru’s voice, calm and dangerous, cut through the air.

“If you don’t leave, I’ll make you regret it.”

Kaito, sensing the seriousness in Subaru’s voice, hesitated. He glanced between you and Subaru once more, eyes narrowing before he finally shrugged and walked off with a chuckle. But the moment he was gone, the silence between you and Subaru felt… different.

You could feel his hand still around yours, and for the first time, you wondered if maybe you weren’t the only one with something to hide.

Subaru cleared his throat, quickly letting go of your hand and looking away, his face a deep red again.

“So, uh… I should go. You’re… probably bored by now,” he muttered.

You gave him a teasing smile. “You’re not getting away that easily, you know.”

He glanced at you, his usual shy demeanor returning, but this time, you noticed something more, something soft, something uncertain.

And as he stood to leave, you knew one thing for sure: this wasn’t the end of the story. Not by a long shot.
