Sry you can’t make me like Rockstar former street rat Dinah Lance. Never going to happen.
LET HER BE A LEGACY HERO. GIVE ME DINAH DRAKE LANCE AND LARRY LANCE!
Dinah Drakes story as a woman who was trained by her father to become a cop only to not be allowed in because she is a woman. So she turns to being a superhero and Larry Lance leaving the force due to his disillusion after seeing them reject a very qualified candidate simply because the woman roles were filled. So together they arrange flowers and fight crime 🌸
Then Dinah Laurel Lance who has a rocky relationship with her mother, who puts crime fighting above her daughter. Or in some versions hides her entire life from her daughter, retiring. Although that story isn’t for me as it has Larry not being as close with Dinah, due to her mother being just as active. But either way she ends up going against her mother’s wishes and secretly trains to be a hero. Taking on her mother’s name in either spite (first backstory) or in honor (second version).
Either way it’s a mother-daughter relationship I find missing from a lot of media. A mother who is the opposite of a stage mom. One who doesn’t allow her daughter the freedom to choose for herself. No matter how good of a reason Dinah Drake had. She didn’t want her daughter to be in the way of danger, but Dinah Lance wanting to have that decision to make herself.
God getting back into comics specifically DC and New 52 (and rebirth) is still pissing me off. I won’t let it be the reason I quit reading a 2nd time

Connor Hawke is a Meta?
Genuine question does Connor have meta abilities. I’ve seen people bringing this up, but I can’t find any actual proof aside from some encyclopedia entry from 2008. And I know never take a DC Encyclopedia as a source because they are usually outdated and have incorrect information. It’s just the nature of how they are made.
In the 80/90s series he is as far as I found just mentioned to be well trained and even lacking in the archery department compared to Oliver.
In the Green Arrow/ Black Canary series it says he is non Meta when he is in the hospital.
Connor Hawke: Dragon’s Blood he does gain some strength/resilience from that whole ordeal.
And Rebirth, I know people claim Damien called him Meta. But I swear I’ve read those issues multiple times and maybe I’m personally missing it.
I just want an answer, because I’m feeling slightly insane from being told this, but not finding any actual evidence. Thanks.

Forgot how much I hate rebirth green arrow.
The clunky dialogue, the characters all just coast by no real connection. Like whenever someone argues it feels so bland.
Very clear story plots taken from the tv show. I get it you want people who watched the show to read the comics. But what about the people who stopped watching the show because they actually liked the comics?
The big ol’ my family is part of a big conspiracy and I have to stop it. One of my least favorite tropes in any story.
And don’t get me started on Seattle now being star city? Let’s just blow up Atlantic City and make it Gotham.
This is also me just ignoring Roy and Oliver’s new backstory. Because 20 years of building that relationship back up means nothing. And even in new 52/rebirth they couldn’t keep it consistent.
Happy it seems All In has basically made more Pre-Crisis canon.
I am simply a New 52 hater. New 52 is the reason I stopped reading DC and still the reason I tend to read older series over the new stuff.

Hey Red Hood fans y’all know Oliver Queen and Roy have a decent relationship now right?
You are aware after the PSA issue “Snowbirds Don’t Fly” (where Oliver was meant to be the character that learns about drug addiction playing into the ideals of the time) his character grows and learns right? He tries multiple times to talk to Roy, all while he himself gets educated.
Now Roy may push him away and be rightfully upset, even then the two do work together. And they continue to be there for each other. Now Roy’s feelings of Ollie are very hot/cold angsty at times, but after Oliver is resurrected they are chill. Like giving each other hugs.
On top of that while Roy and Oliver weren’t as close as they once were, Roy kept good relations with Dinah (practically his mom although they always felt more sister/brother to me) and Connor.
Oliver has grown as a character since the 70s…just because Jason isn’t great with his family doesn’t mean Roy is emotionally stunted as well.
It’s really important to me that you know this. Because wow you guys love to mischaracterize Oliver Queen. Like Ollie isn’t the best dad (that title would go to Roy), but he tries and learns.
