Dick breaking the world's record in skydiving and just never telling anyone but Tim and Alfred is amazing in itself but can you imagine the comedic potential of him just casually dropping this years later like that for example with the Titans:

Dick, distractingly, reviewing some cases on the side: Oh yeah, I broke that one already, the trick is to not pass out for too long.

Garth: Wait no, what ? can we come back not passing out for too long while falling through the sky ? I think that's a pretty big part of the conversation?

In canon, because that was right before battle for the Cowl and Bruce was just dead, it was kinda one of the last things he did for himself before taking said cowl, he probably won't ever tell anyone but still, it's funny.

I hate people who are like “go read the comics” or “this is so OOC” or “x would never do/say that”

Because like, when it comes to the Batfam/young heroes, canon is SO confusing:

Both teen titans/titans and Young Justice are Canon, but they can’t exist at the same time since Dick and Tim have been on both teams

In teen titans/TTG miss martian/m’gann and Artemis don’t exist (the same with Aqualad I think)

And in YJ starfire, cyborg, and raven don’t exist.

In TTG starfire doesn’t like Robin back, but in teen titans they’re dating.

In TTG Robin hated Kidflash, but in YJ Dick and Wally are best friends.

In both TTG, Teen titans, and TITENS, Dick is the Robin on the team, but in the DCAMU Damian is Robin and his love interest is Raven.

In the comics Jason is the happy, exited, and impulsive Robin, but in TITANS he’s super aggressive and just not like he is in the comics

In YJ Conner is vastly different from In the comics.

In the comics Artemis, Roy(Arsenal), Kory(starfire) and Jason(red hood) are in a group called ‘The Outlaws’, but in other comics, and shows they don’t even exist together.

In YJ Artemis joins the YJ, but Roy gives up being speedy and becomes Red Arrow. In YJ it’s revealed that Roy is actually a clone of the original, and the OG ends up becoming Arsenal, though totally different from his comic counterpart.

And as icing on the cake, Kory doesn’t even exist in YJ.

Some of the comics also totally fuck up canon, along with some of the games (like Gotham knights), but I’ve never played the games or read the comics, so I can’t really say a lot about that.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that people should let others enjoy their media in peace, even if it’s OOC to what you believe is “true canon”

(NOTE: I’ve seen a lot of people both defend and hate on new 52 because of the direct opposition it has with other comics, yet it is still canon. It just goes to show that nothing and everything is canon, no one is right and no one is wrong.)

Thinking about Dick and Roy as kind of parallels to each other.

Both taken in by heroes. Both raised as sidekicks and partners but not quite sons. Both ended up coming of age with distance between them and their mentors.

But then things start to differ as adults.

(Correct me if I'm wrong on anything with Roy, because I only know pieces and I'd love to know more.)

Dick is constantly pulled back into Bruce's orbit by force or by choice. Roy seems to have a more... active role in deciding when to let Oliver back into his life.

Roy raises Lian, getting to have her as a center of his world, and establishes himself as his own hero.

Dick is a bit more stuck in the shadow of Batman. Every marriage attempt gets destroyed. Every new balance found gets toppled by catastrophe.

Roy actually gets a life outside being a hero. Dick's whole world revolves around the superhero community.

It's just very interesting that the things DC seems so eager to erase from Roy's story are the things that let him grow up and become his own person.

Which, now that I'm thinking about it, also maps onto Dick. Every time he gets Free of Gotham’s everything, something pulls him back into it. Like an unwilling or unknowing Peter Pan, he's not allowed to grow up, not really.

And after all the reboots and retcons and resets, their relationship gets lost, too.

Idk, man. I miss when things for "adults" also meant growth and maturity. Not just tits and senseless violence.

I was thinking about merch in-universe and how we always see Dick wearing a superman march, and that's true and valid and absolutely in-character for Dick, he loves superman but also I feel like he would wear titans merch a lot too because his friends are amazing ?

So here are some Titans merch headcanons for Dick specifically:

Mr Dick, I feel as if I've known and loved you all my life, Grayson would definitely wear a Wondergirl and later on Troia pajamas and tee shirt and he would specifically tell people it's a Troia shirt and not a wonder woman shirt because Troia is amazing. Also he and Donna have a mug of each other and it's both of their favorites. I don't make the rules.

He also have some cute figurines of all the titans and a Titans together tee shirt (everyone has a matching one, a gift from Kori at some point).

Lian used to have all of the titans toys when she was tiny given by said uncles and aunts but one in particular is an extremely loud and annoying Arsenal toy given by Dick after Roy purposefully bought the ugliest and most obnoxious merch he could find of Nightwing and wore it to mess with Dick (this move was probably inspired by Gar and Vic doing the same thing to each other always). Lian loved it. Roy...wanted to throw it out of the window. He did not.

He has both a flash and kid flash mug. He got the Kid flash one when they were still Robin and Kid Flash and it has never broken.

He definitely has some stuff that Garth brought back from Atlantis and Tempest stickers. They are very cool. He also has a Garth shirt that he really likes.
