so not to be dramatic but when Hank, Jesse, and Gomez show up in the desert and Walt finally steps out into the open, they pan to Jesse's face and it's just.... surprise. shock. like he can't believe Walt is really there despite knowing with certainty that they lured him out to that precise location. Like Jesse saw his car, rationally knew he couldn't get far in that environment (especially with his lung cancer back) and yet it's as if Jesse is genuinely not expecting him to be there. He's so used to Walt being this unyielding mastermind who can always find a way to slip out of whatever knot is trying to constrain him. honestly it reminds me of how a really small child might see their dad - invulnerable. invincible. bulletproof..and suddenly Jesse is confronted with the reality that Walt isn't infallible. he doesn't have a master plan. there's seemingly no way out for him. And all that's left is a man on his knees who can't catch his breath. it's like your dad turned out to be the villain in the horror movie. your dad is getting dirt all over his khakis. your dad is orchestrating your execution. your dad is immortal. your dad is sick and dying dying dying. idk, the look on Jesse's face was just so striking to me here. like he genuinely did briefly let himself believe it was all going to be over. and he was so so so wrong about it. ugh. im in pain lol
