One of many things I love about the @edmontonburlesquefestival - VENDING. It can be tough to hustle all weekend long (especially when your back is kinda fucked-up like mine was this time around) HOWEVER it’s always worth it; I covered all of my festival-going expenses and then some! Slytherin trash girlfriend, off to the @geekenders Harry Potter’s Birthday Bash at the @riotheatre ! As a person in their 30s who’s never actually read the damn series, I finally decided to get ‘em in audiobook format and listen through it while I work. I’m somewhere in the middle of volume 4 (I don’t care about spoilers; I’ve lived long enough to incidentally know who-all dies and who the half-blood prince is,) and despite the writing itself being middling to atrocious, it’s a fun romp and I’m enjoying it well-enough. It takes a lot for me to torch a bridge. A. LOT. I’m understanding and forgiving to a fault, people often take advantage of that, and (with the exception of the person I used to be married to) I’ll give practically anyone multiple opportunities to prove me wrong if I’m wrong, but otherwise own up to stuff and explain themselves, apologize when necessary, and make real, tangible amends for their hurtful actions. To those who’ve really screwed up, (and we ALL screw up,) I try to extend the same grace I would want to receive were I in their position. If they double down and things can’t be resolved, I distance myself and let them go about their lives so I can go about mine. Now, imagine how consistently and repeatedly awful a person would have to be - to not only myself, but my friends, elders, coworkers, and mentors - to provoke someone like me to anger. Imagine that.
