Understanding how your immune system functions can help you appreciate and anticipate your healthy days and less-healthy days. Your immune system can be roughly broken into three categories: Innate immunity: This includes secretion of mucus and some types of immune cells. Inflammation: When your body is exposed to foreign substances, such as bacteria, or are injured, your immune system will stage an inflammatory response. Acquired immunity: We develop acquired immunity when exposed to bacteria, viruses, and other substances. Acquired immunity includes B and T lymphocytes, and antibodies that have developed in response to infection and vaccination . . . The menstrual cycle, is itself a cycle of immunity. The immune system is suppressed during ovulation to allow sperm to enter. It then kicks in again in order to shed the lining of the uterus. It makes sense, therefore, that our health would be affected by these changes. The whole function of the menstrual cycle is to produce cyclical patterns of immunity so actually we would be better to think of female health as cyclical," Science still doesn’t see periods as a significant factor  Failure to acknowledge the impact of the hormonal cycle on symptoms makes it harder to identify diseases and can delay diagnosis, Outside of its role in baby-making, medicine largely ignores menstruation, seeing it merely as a complication.  So its really important that you take charge of your body starting with  TRACKING YOUR CYCLE ALONG WITH YOUR IMMUNITY It’s always smart to closely track your cycle, and observe which times of the month leaving you feeling like you naturally need a boost. That way, you’ll know when you need to make extra healthy choices, such as more supplements, more antioxidant-filled fruits and vegetables, and more stress-releasing exercise and mindfulness activities to make sure you’re feeling your best. If you want to learn how to track your cycle DM us or visit our website and fill the contact form We provide one to one online consultation . . . But research increasingly suggests that menstruation may affect our entire system, creating cycles in our overall health, susceptibility to illness, and the symptoms we exhibit. About one in three women having IVF treatment develop mild symptoms of OHSS. While it's only natural to worry, mild OHSS doesn't usually require a stay in hospital, and will only last a few days. With mild to moderate ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, symptoms can include: Mild to moderate abdominal pain Abdominal bloating or increased waist size Nausea Vomiting Diarrhea Tenderness in the area of your ovaries Moderate forms of OHSS affect one in about 25 women undergoing IVF. Severe cases occur in one or two in 100. With severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, you might have: Rapid weight gain — more than 2.2 pounds (1 kilogram) in 24 hours Severe abdominal pain Severe, persistent nausea and vomiting Blood clots Decreased urination Shortness of breath Tight or enlarged abdomen. . . . #ohss #hyperstimulation #ovarianhyperstimulationsyndrome #hormones #ivf #medication #infertility #fertility #ovulation #itunes #podcast #womensupportingwomen #stayfertile #stayhealthy (at New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEogpPzBGxL/?igshid=hoht3gdsn07m

Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome is an exaggerated response to excess hormones. It usually occurs in women taking injectable hormone medications to stimulate the development of eggs in the ovaries. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) causes the ovaries to swell and become painful. OHSS may occur in women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) or ovulation induction with injectable medications. Learn more about OHSS in our upcoming episode. . . . #ohss #hyperstimulation #ovarianhyperstimulationsyndrome #hormones #ivf #medication #infertility #fertility #ovulation #itunes #podcast #womensupportingwomen #stayfertile #stayhealthy (at Cranston, Rhode Island) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEjtrIhBJkc/?igshid=53u1aobyhu06
