Cipher & Pixy / Ciphixy - It was a cold and snowy day
Reporter: This blizzard, the worst Ustio has seen in years, has grounded commercial and military flights. But here at Valais air base, two pilots have performed a successful mission even in this atrocious weather. We ask one of them for his views on the impact of the snowstorm.

YO THAT’S MY BIRTHDAY!

August 19 is National Aviation Day.
President Ford attended a ceremony to mark the delivery of the first F-15 Eagle at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona on November 14, 1974. After observing the plane’s arrival he received the aircraft forms transferring the F-15 from the civilian developer to the public. He then presented the forms to General David C. Jones, signifying the transfer of the aircraft to the Air Force.
Developing the F-15 was a collaborative process between the United States Air Force and McDonnell-Douglas to create an air superiority fighter aircraft that would far exceed the flexibility and maneuverability of the Soviet-made fighters that pilots had encountered in the skies over Vietnam. The Eagle officially entered service in 1976. The F-15 now has several different variants that carry out a multitude of different combat air missions. The United States Air Force continues to use it today, and plans to use it for several more years.
