Hey, every time the discourse comes up I feel like I never see a solid definition of what proship means, would you mind explaining to me? And what antis are? Thanks
I'll explain both meaning and etymology because I am a nerd
Proship: comes from "pro" as in "for", so for a certain ship. Proshippers are against censorship and harassment and firmly believe that all media, even the ones that cover dark topics, should be allowed to exist, even and especially if they themselves don't like those topics or are made uncomfortable by it. For a proshipper, being able to filter and block what you don't want to see is essential.
Antiship: anti as in "against", so against a certain ship. As the name would suggest, antis are the opposite of proshippers; they believe dark media should be censored and will do anything to censor that media, up to and including harassing the people who make it. A lot of them also believe the internet should be catered to them, and thus rarely block or filter things that make them uncomfortable.
Not all antis are like this of course, but an unfortunate majority are.
