the zoldyck family is my favorite villian type. story wise they are the first big bad, and therefore not the "real big bad". functionally they become both an antagonist and an ally to the protagonists depending on the circumstances. hisoka plays a similar role, which is always one of the reasons i like him.
but! the zoldycks specifically do not kill for amusement or power. it is simply a family business where the service offered is assassination.
zeno specifically creates a stark parallel against many of the other antagonists who crop up throughout hxh. during his fight w chrollo, when chrollo asks why he stopped fighting him once zenos employer was dead, zeno replied that he does not kill for sport and doesnt risk his life simply for the thrill of it.
then when one of the lower level ants tried to pick a fight with him when he is walking home he says "for the first time since i took over the family business i may have accidentally killed an innocent bystander". again implying a moral code and relationship to killing that is contrary to the chimera ant arc where many of the ants kill/hunt for sport.

Some of my favorites of the night …. I love black women
#met gala#i don't usually pay much attention to this but this years costumes have been too fabulous not to enjoy#the theme seems to have brought out some very creative and fun styling overall#my faves are usually the tailored pants suits variations but all these pieces are works of art resonating with fashion history

Did a job I've been putting off since I had my accident. I could've done it from a couple of weeks ago, and it was very simple. I don't understand myself sometimes - why it's so hard to just get something basic done. But honestly, I felt blocked, despite there being no reason I couldn't do this basic thing.
#personal#weird#there'll be more little jobs coming out of this one#i think it was mental not physical - although i originally delayed it due to physical things#i was about to do it literally the day after I had my accident - had everything planned and ready lol

You're about to close on your very own, suspiciously affordable and comfortable house. Just before you sign the contract, the realtor shows you the required legal disclosure: your new house is haunted by the type of presence you'll get from this spinner wheel.
Of course it is.

Gon is bad at fashion (it’s fine he’s a middle school boy) while Killua is good at fashion. These are indisputable facts that can be seen and confirmed from a glance at the manga.
I also think we can confirm (this is based solely on the manga and art drawn by Yoshihiro Togashi himsel) that Kurapika is a fashion disaster.
Consider: he is only shown wearing suits or Kurta clothes, both of which come with a matching top and bottom. Also consider: he’s a very functional person. The use of things matters more than their appearance. Conclusion: he does not know how to match difference pieces of clothing and doesn’t care enough to learn.
Also consider: Leorio is a fashion icon and this photo is constantly rotating in my head.

#hxh#fashion hc but i agree#still there is that double page spread in the manga with cut out clothes for Gon#that may show Gon has the potential to be quite experimental and ignore gender norms#plus when he's with Killua he dressed up a bit more#i think he's just an island boy without much exposure at home but he could go places from there#(plus i expect his usual outfit was home made - bet he knows basic mending and how to care for his clothes)#(because when clothes are home made you value the effort that made them)

Finally, after forever, after FIFTY years, my electorate has dumped our Liberal (conservative) party for an Independent. Change can happen, even in super conservative seats.
#auspol#many of her policies are progressive so this will hopefully be a big improvement#it’s encouraging to know the neighbourhood isn’t all died in the wool lnp anymore!

if i had two dollars for every time a comonwealth country's federal election ousted the opposition leader from their position and their electorate seat in 2025, i'd have two dollars, which isnt a lot, but it's weird it happened twice right?

actually the funniest election season moment was the current (and as of tonight, continuing!) prime minister going on the radio and dedicating "am I ever going to see your face again" by the angels to the opposition leader - a song that, when played in Australia, is accompanied by a mandatory response from the crowd of "no way, get fucked, fuck off"
