Cassandra ... but in Epic!
I had a brilliant idea.
Do you know the Warrior Peneope AU? Imagine that in the Underworld Penelope meets not the prophet Tiresias… but the prophetess Cassandra. Just imagine that.
#so technically she should STILL be alive at this point#but it's still a good idea okkkkk#epic#epic the musical#warrior penelope au#penelope#epic penelope#cassandra#trojan#cassandra of troy#kassandra of troy#kassandra#tiresias#epic tiresias#my thoughts#firinnie#greek mythology#ancient greece

Sisters and Babies For Polish Mother's Day (which was on Monday, typically late) we have Penelope with Telemachus and Ctimene (Ody's sister) with her and Eurylochus' girls: Amaltheia and Elpida. I'm still not happy with my Pen but we'll work on her a bit more.

If Odysseus was portrayed in the epic as he is in the myths, I think he would not be as well-liked. Tho in the Iliad he will do anything to get his way, no matter at whose expense.
In Little Iliad, after the fall of Troy, Andromache hides Astyanax near Hector’s tomb, but the child is eventually discovered by the Greeks. It is Odysseus who strongly insists that Astyanax must be killed, while Menelaus argues against it, saying the child is still too young to die. In the end, Odysseus uses his cunning tongue to persuade everyone that the boy must die. He then orders Neoptolemus to throw Astyanax from the city walls, killing him. In the Epic: musical, Odysseus is portrayed as reluctantly killing the infant under Zeus’s command, but in the myth, Odysseus strongly advocated for Astyanax’s death even before any prophecy was given.
In Euripides' The Trojan Women the herald Talthybius reveals to Andromache that Odysseus has convinced the council to have the child thrown from the walls, and the child is in this way killed.
Another version is given in Iliou persis, in which Odysseus kills Astyanax with his own bare hands.
Honestly, I don’t understand why people claim that Odysseus felt guilty about Astyanax. At least in the sources I’ve read, there’s never been any indication of that. Ody really wanted to kill Astyanax more than anyone else in the entire myths.

«Andromache imploring Ulysses (Odysseus) to spare the life of her son.» -George Dawe; artist; 1810-

Eros and Hedome 2.0 This is an image based on my previous one which IG decided to remove because it "did not meet the standards" regarding the image of minors. I don't think it violates anything but since we already acknowledge that nudity in the context of ancient Greece can be wrong, for safety's sake, have a slightly older Hedome. Love to duo still. Btw, Hedome is the daughter of Eros and Psyche, who will become goddess of pleasure in future. I decided to give her a ladybug as a sacred animal because it can be the embodiment of love and color red sweetly refers to her grandfather Ares, besides it is also color of love. Her unpopular animal nicely combines secret bunny from Eros and sacred butterfly from Psyche.

I forgot that I wrote this honestly but overall maybe one day it will become a bigger fic lol.
"Very well"
After these words Athena returned to Olympus and slowly walked to her siblings, who after seeing Odysseus' epic fight gave them a moment. They were shocked when her smile twisted the other way and she stopped halfway with tears running down her face.
"H-he doesn't-" The goddess started when she was on her knees and everyone else in shock tried to give her comfort. After the game she allowed them to get close to her. "He doesn't want to have anything to do with me, never!"
When she finally collapsed from exhaustion after hours of crying Hermes decided that he should be the one to bring his grandson in line.
Either he or Ares who for Odysseus being "ungrateful" would be ready to make him a punching bag.
When Hermes returned his face was... surprising.
"Have you talked to him?" Aphrodite asked first. "Why did he ignore our sister like the biggest-" "I um… that's not what I was talking about with him." Hermes replied. "I really didn't have a way to talk to him normally."
When the entire hall had sputtered with indignation, the messenger finished the story. "Generally, when his lovely dove fell asleep, Ody went to the balcony to cry his eyes out." "Cry, what? Why?" Apollo said. "Because he says Athena doesn't want him anymore."
There was silence, broken by Hephaestus' snort after a while.
"We let Athena and someone Athena chose have an honest conversation to say everything directly and without any metaphors? Wonderful idea."
At least not everything is lost yet then.
…
Generally, it's one in the morning and I had such an idea, maybe a longer fic from this?

Bonus to the previous post!
So, Anticlea was still sleeping and her husband took care of everything for Mother's Day LIKE A GOOD FATHER should.

Happy (worldwide) Mother's Day!
Anticlea was surprised this morning by her three little ones
Nah, I have to draw more of kiddo Ody and his siblings. At first I wanted to do 'Clea with newborn Ctimene and Odysseus seeing her for the first time but I had to change the plan to include Eumaeus! I'm happy with it tho!

Remember my post when I said "imagine Ody is allergic to feathers" aka sneezes when Athena evem blinks next to him? Now think about this.
Telemachus is allergic to dogs.
He is too stubborn to live without them. Apart from the obvious Argos, let's not forget that Eumaeus was a father figure to Tel all these years, and when Ody comes home his adoptive brother had four dogs (at least). They could be murderous machines but you can't tell me they didn't lick the young prince to death like, everyday.
Red eyes, snot to the chin, red spots but the dog needs to be petted. Dont tell this boy no. Penelope is certainly very worried but she knows perfectly well that her son will have his own dogs someday even if he sneeze himself to x_x

I absolutely love this DTIYS, both characters have such sad but interesting stories that I had to do them. This is Iphigenia (daughter of Agamemnon) and Polyxena from Troy!

Apollo is literally like "Can I have one sibling who even if don't listen to me, still thinks rationally? Just one???"
Snippet: Fighting to be Loved
been a while since one of these, but I need to share this gem right now. Bringing Artemis in was the best choice I ever made.
════════════════════════════
“Okay, we’ll test now how much pain relief is necessary,” Apollo said. “I’ll apply pressure to the wound on your arm, Athena, Artemis, you gradually increase how much power you put in, and Athena, you say when it stops hurting.”
“I can just put in full power,” Artemis said.
“I can handle the pain,” Athena said at the same time.
Apollo sighed.
“I’d say Aphrodite is my favorite sister, but she also doesn’t listen to me. Ari, no, you can’t, because you’ll have to keep it up and save some strength for emergencies. Athena, no, you can’t. Pain is equivalent to stress and if there’s anything your body can’t handle right now, it’s additional stress. This is not about a mental challenge for you, we are literally trying to keep you alive.”
