IMPORTANT UPDATE.

I am not yet ready to give up on this project, this can help so many people.  So I am going to keep trying to get it going. I'll be making a gofundme today, or something of the like, and trying to raise money for this that way. I am still accepting donations of other things as well!!  I am going to put more effort into this, I just hope I can get the exposure this project deserves!

Unfortunately First Step is not getting enough exposure, therefore not enough donations to get this going anytime soon, or at all. The very little that was donated has given a binder and other necessities to a transboy in need. So one kit has been delivered, but that is all I was able to get going.

I went to a Transgender Day of Remembrance conference tonight, and the transgender speaker, Channyn Lynn Parker, said that her mother said this to her in response to her transition.

I find it so beautiful.

Update!

We have been away for awhile, we are back. In terms of how soon starter kits will be available. It's not looking like it will be any time soon, this is entirely donation funded. And we're not getting enough money donations to fund shipping costs and new items (toiletries/etc) Basically, there is way more demand for everything than there is a supply. So I am still going to try and do this! But if I can't, I am going to come up with some way to still provide emergency resources, it might just be a smaller variety! Specifically toiletries, binders, make-up, etc.

I just want to thank you for starting this blog. When I saw your submission on the MTF Confessions page I had to fight not to cry because I've been stuck in a position with no money or knowledge on how to start transitioning for some time. You trying to do what you are doing means so much to people like me. Thank you.

So I just found out that Laverne Cox has an identical twin brother, who played pre-transition Sophia in OITNB. I was wondering how they found someone that looked just like her to play the role! Super cool.

The Equality House, the rainbow-colored, LGBT-friendly space located across from the Westboro Baptist Church, is temporarily painted with the colors of the trans pride flag today for the Transgender Day of Remembrance. Awesome awesome. (via BuzzFeed)
