Unpopular opinion:

Remus Lupin was as capable of cruelty and arrogance as the rest of the Marauders. There are plenty of hints of this in canon. The only reason we don't see this side of him as often is because of his heavy reluctante to be considered a "bad guy".

And he low-key enjoyed going against Snape just as much, he just had some conscience aftewards.

Rose was thirteen when she fell in love with Scorpius Malfoy.

It had been quite a shock for herself when she first realized it. Her, Rose Granger-Weasley, having such feelings for a Malfoy, none other than the son of the man her father despised so much. The same boy her father warned her against the very first day she boarded the Hogwarts train. It was preposterous.

But at the same time, it shouldn't have surprised her so much. Not when had recently found out that Scorpius Malfoy wasn't at all the arrogant, conceited boy she expected him to be. That, despite his constant love confessions and over-the-top compliments, he never pushed her boundaries and had no problem leaving her alone. That he always knew when to stop and where the limits were, never trying to touch her or get into her personal space. Unlike many other boys she witnessed.

Not when he was the kindest, bravest and most selfless boy she had ever met, with his smooth voice talking her through her insecurities and his silver-like eyes holding every piece of his heart for her to see.

Scorpius Malfoy was eleven years old when he fell in love with Rose Granger-Weasley.

When he first met her, in the Hogwarts train, as she stood behind Albus while he asked him if it was okay for them to enter. Scorpius replied politely, but his eyes were fixed on the girl. With her ferocious red air, like flames of a fire, and her astounding blue eyes that reminded him of the sky. He thought she was the prettiest girl he'd ever seen.

From that point onwards, she was stuck in his mind. Even with her rejections and very public disgust, he never lost hope. The more he saw her, the more he fell for her brilliant self. How could he not? Malfoys have always been attracted to intelligent girls. Specially if they were capable of putting them in their place.

Yes, Scorpius always knew Rose was the one for him. He never doubted it. And despite her growing desire to feel her intrincate curls in his fingers and caress her lips, he kept his hands to himself. He could never disrespect her like that. He knew that, if he wanted to win her over, he needed to let her take the initiative. Give her the control.

And she did.

When Rose Granger-Weasley finally gathered the courage to confess him what she felt on their fifth year, he just laughed with that sweet voice of his and kissed her with a burning passion that convinced Rose she would never want to kiss another.

Which was perfect, because after tasting her strawberry lips, Scorpius Malfoy knew he would only kiss her for the rest of his life.

Bridgerton AU: Polin Harry Potter AU

Story Idea/Prompt

Just for context, this takes place during the Triwizard Tournament during the next generation of Potters and Weasleys:

Penelope Featherington is a 5th year Ravenclaw who has been in love with 7th year Hufflepuff Colin Bridgerton, her friend and the brother of her best friend and fellow Ravenclaw Eloise Bridgerton,  since her first year when she accidentally knocked him off his broom. Unfortunately, he has been dating her cousin Marina Thompson, a beautiful ravenclaw in his year, since the middle of 6th year. 

Things change though when Marina breaks up with Colin a few weeks into the new term and then starts going out George Crane, a 7th year Durmstrang student (which is odd considering his brother Philip is a 5th year Hufflepuff that has been attending Hogwarts since first year but that is another story). Not wanting to see her friend so upset, Penelope does her best to cheer up Colin and the two end up spending more time together. They go to Hogsmeade, study in the library and even do their prefect rounds together.  So when the Yule ball comes around, Penelope is both shocked and delighted when Colin asks her to go with him. 

Feeling a spark of hope, she decides that she’ll confess her feelings to Colin on the night of the ball. She pays Madame Delacroix to help alter the dress robes her mother sent her to make them more flattering and talks over hairstyles with Edwina and Eloise, with Daphne even offering to lend her assistance on the night of the ball (though who her date is remains a mystery). She practices dancing in private, not wanting to step on Colin’s toes. 

It all comes crashing down a week before the ball. 

Marina and George have had a falling out and Marina has run of course to Colin. A few days later, they are back together. 

Colin of course apologizes and Penelope does her best to not show how hurt she is. Of course it seems luck is not on her side as she later hears Colin telling an angry Eloise, “Pen is just a friend Eloise! I would never dream of dating Penelope Featherington, not in a million years!” Penelope tries not to make her presence known but Peeves announces her presence. Mumbling something under her breath, she hurries away from the two Bridgerton siblings, ignoring their shouts behind her. What she doesn’t realize is that someone else had watched this go down. Someone who had decided they’d waited long enough to make their move on curvy redhead. 

The next week passes in blur and Colin has done his best to try and find Penelope and apologize for his words but to no avail. It doesn’t help that Eloise has been guarding her friend religiously round the clock and threatening to hex him if he comes near her. Still he tries to make the best of it, smiling at Marina as they wait by the great hall. As they are chatting with their friends, Richard Fife glances up at the stairs and splutters “is that Penelope Featherington with James Potter?!” 

Just to clarify, when I say James Potter I’m referring to James Sirius Potter, the son of Harry and Ginny. And like his father and grandfather before him, he seems to have fallen for a gorgeous and witty redhead. I have more ideas for this universe so if anyone would like to know more, please message me. I might turn this into a story but I’m not sure. If anyone wants to use the idea though feel free!

Headcanon about the oceanian magic world 4: protection and hiding

This part is focused the way, witches and wizards hide themselves in the pacific.

In the pacific they use really old spells.

They were cast by witches centuries ago.

In the eyes of the rest of the magic world they look like curses but not to the oceanic people.

The most common ones are the magic mists...

If someone, goes through this mist uninvited they get transported in time...

Most of the time it's irreversible...

But no one can reproduce that kind of magic...

It was created by one witch and her disciples, they all ...

The youngs learn how to navigate in the mist

If one of them get lost a special group of trained wizards are sent to get them back.

The mist has another effect on people...

If they stay too long in the other time period they get progressively crazy...

They lose touch with reality...

And as they lose their mind, their bodies slowly convert into the mist, until they became a pink cloud...

Some people wonder why such a dangerous spell was cast as protection...

And, even tho it's scary, it allowed the witches to stay hidden during the colonization of their islands...

Inside the mist, their tradition as well as their way of life was preserved...

When wizards and witches from other countries came those islands, to escape witch trial and witch hunters, they were eventually accepted by the council.

So the safe places in the mist are really culturally diverse

There are other types of protection...

They are several underwater villages,

The spell used are a variation on a bigger scale of the bubble-head charm

The people living in those places rarely goes above water but they accept visitors and marchants from above.

Headcanon about the oceanic magic world 3: the wands

Ok so this one is more focused on the wands, enjoy.

Like I said in the first one, children choose tips to put on their wand

It can be a shell or a stone

Some even use leaf or certain plants that are kept alive by the wand's magic.

The woods are also very different

For exemple there are woods from trees that only grows on certain island.

Mangrove wands are good in transfigiration.

Kaori is a really popular wood

It exist a lot of different type of kaories with a lot of different specificities.

Wands made out of red kaories is appreciated because of his rarity

One of the most precious type of wood is from the pohutukawa tree.

It's sacred for the Maori witch and wizard and only the most delicate wand maker are allowed to use this wood.

Same goes for banyan wands

This tree is really important in Kanak culture

It's wood is used very carefully by the wand maker

The witch or wizard who got a banyan wand is highly considered in the oceanian magic world.

It's powerfull with counter-spells and

Santal wands are adored by witches and wizard in french polynesian

The wonderfull sent of the wood is known to make charms more powerfull.

Tamanu wood is popular with healer witch and wizard

Headcanon about the cultural differences in the oceanian magic world: part 2

This one is going to be about families's annimals

Every wizard family have a representative annimal

For exemple Mona's family have the black tip shark.

Other's have turtles, parrots or even cats.

The family's annimal thing work by birth.

If two people with two different annimals marry each other and have kids the first born will take the mother's annimal.

The second will take the father's ...

And the next ones will get to choose.

Sometime the family's annimal match with their annimagus form.

The family's annimal protect them spiritually and sometime physically.

Children are put in contact with their protector at a very young age.

They learn how to treat them and how to act properly around them.

Voila, I think this one is not as good as the first one but I wanted to write it anyway.

👶The youth are teach by familes.

🧓Each family have their speciality and the child are send from home to home to learn as much as possible.

💃🕺They use dance and body movements to cast spell.

🥢Wands are use to master the spell and then later, they use dance mouvement to cast them.

🏝There’s an exam each year that take the form of a dance representation.

🧙‍♂️🧙‍♀️Dances are performed in front of a concil of old witches and wizards who juges the capability of the youth.

👧Their first representation happen when they are 10 year’s old.

✌If they pass they are allowed to have their wand.

Each child can choose something to put at the tip of their wand.

🐚Some chooses shells,carb shells, rocks or crytals.

🥢They then go to the local wand maker and try to find the most suitable wand for them by testing the tips they choose with different wands.

🐕The pets are also differents.

🐗Forest board, with plants growing on their back are popular among the potion makers.

🐦Color changing parot are realy useful to deliver messages when the owls are sleeping.

🐊Saltwater crocodile are domesticated for their big size allowing a useful means of transport.

🌬On some islands witches and wizards surf on wind waves.

🏄‍♂️Some use surfboard to move, but due to the unpredictability of the wind it's more of a sport.

🌪Every year during the cyclone season a lot of surfer take adventage of the strong winds.
