my mundane Pokémon headcanon is that there's at least one Nurse Joy out there who can't stand (her assigned) Chansey. it's great both if the feeling is mutual and if it isn't. nothing Bad happened, it's just one of those things where you have Preferences or the Vibes are off. she sometimes talks about it with that one Officer Jenny who thinks her Arcanine is a bitch.

My Pokemon head canon is that if you were holding an Aron and she wanted to go down she would do the little cat thing where they wiggle until they leap out of your arms gracefully except Aron is made mostly out of solid steel and would land with the impact tungsten cube, dent the floor, cause permanent structural damage to the foundation, and then stand up and happily trot along like she didn't do anything

only Kly appreciated this post which makes me think nobody else got the joke bc it's a flawless post. it can't possibly be because none of you like a kid's game series and/or are mentally unwell enough to get really invested in one of its villains where you have to do some heavy lifting to make their characterization coherent and Really compelling on account of them being the villain of a kid's game series.

so. you need to understand that

- quick claw is a held item that will occasionally trigger and let a pokémon move before its opponent even if it's technically outsped by it

- tailwind is a move that lets your team's pokémon move first for three or four (depending on game generation) turns even if they're technically outsped by their opponents

...aaaand. Crobat is one of the fastest pokémon in the entire franchise. in this particular generation, it is only outsped by six other pokémon, two of which are (quasi-)legendaries and one of which nobody in their right mind would bring to a fight against Cyrus bc its speed is the only thing it's got going for itself.

the de-evolution joke is a reference to the fact that Golbat evolves into Crobat with a high enough friendship stat.

that's also, to me, how indie games are Supposed to work. not to be all "back in my day", BUT. maybe people are just too young and never had to download rpg maker apps to open a beloved game in there and figure out how to get past a bug bc the developer stopped working on it, but I played a LOT of extremely niche, extremely not-popular RPGs, and it was a proper Community, i think 90% of the horror RPGs I played were actively in conversation with each other. of course, back then you had to get them recommended in forums or if you were rly lucky by a semi-popular* let's player on yt, they weren't Commercial in any sense of the word

*big youtubers back then had a Fraction of the followers semi-big youtubers do today, and in case of German youtubers that meant they had a couple hundred to thousand followers

re: lrb i've seen some people be mad abt that actually and how could you POSSIBLY not appreciate it. Papyrus was inspired by Dedan!! Mortis Ghost asked Toby to do the soundtrack (and okayed it, just like, as an aside; he clearly wasn't bothered by it) - how are you not absolutely DELIGHTED to find Papyrus's battle theme tucked into Dedan's? I love the OG OFF soundtrack as much as the next guy (got all the songs on my phone and sometimes listen to them) but that's so GOOD !!!!
