6:39 am; 72° at 91% humidity and 2 mph wind; 1.5 miles; 18:40; 12:21/mi; 239; zr season of the hunter; Jog was good. Didn’t really want to get up, but I did anyway. Slight pull in my inner right ankle, but Idt it’s anything to worry about at this point. Lots of birds chirping and what looked like a great blue heron flew over head. The sound of the water fountain was good, too. This jog didn’t feel like too much effort. Not easy per se, but the jog did have some ease about it if that makes sense? Anyway, I like to get my week off to a good start with a Monday jog so I’m happy I went. And the weather was nice.

2:49 pm; 88° at 61% humidity and 3 mph wind; 3 miles; 39:46; 13:15/mi; ZR Season of the Hunter E6; I did it! I did actually stop to walk quite a few times (look at my pace lol), but that’s ok! I went! I moved and each time I move at this pace and for this distance, my body becomes more accustomed to it and better equipped to move again. I try to remind myself that jogging is an act of love for myself and that future me will be able to move with more confidence and ease because of it. Also though?, it was quite hot. This is out of the range of comfortable jogging weather. It’s ok for every once in a while, but unsustainable long term. I’ll have to be more careful about times and heat once summer hits. Between the sun in the day and the thunderstorms in the evening, morning is really the only time to jog safely and comfortably.

6:36 am; 73° at 97% humidity and 10 mph wind; 1.75 miles; 21:52; 12:30/mi; ZR Season of the Hunter E5; Went a little longer than intended because my zr mission wasn’t done and I knew there was probably only one sound part left. Once that finished, I kept going until I hit .75 bc that seemed like a nice number to finish on. Weather was verryyy muggy but at least there was some wind and it wasn’t too hot. I changed my route once to avoid the winding bit by the lake and twice to avoid the sprinklers and a fallen tree. I saw lots of little birds including two blue jays. Some kind of heron flew over head and also two duck looking things? But it didn’t quite look like a mallard which is what I would expect for my area. Maybe the black bellied whistling ducks again??

6:42 am; 68° at 89% humidity and 3 mph wind; 1 mile; 10:33/mi; ZR Season of the Hunter E5 (incomplete); WOOOOO NEW HIGH SCORE! this is the fastest I’ve run a mile since I got the garmin back in December 2021 (granted, I wasn’t jogging for a lot of that time but that might actually make it worse? Like I’ve wasted so much time). The weather was nice and my jog went smoothly. Looking at my pace, I obviously wasn’t steady, but I never dropped to a walk. Took me a while to get out of bed and ready this morning, so I only did a mile which gave me a chance to Go Fast. Talked to my dad yesterday and it made me nostalgic for distance runs. I’m tempted to try a jog around the lake on the weekend. Saturday morning maybe?

8:07 am; 81° with 93% humidity and 6 mph winds; 1.5 miles; 18:32; 12:21/mi; ZR Season of the Hunter E4; that went ok! I know my summary says it was a little breezy but honestly the air felt so stagnant and oppressive. Very damp and humid. No blue sky or sun, only gray clouds. The run itself was good, and I didn’t stop to walk at all so that’s good! I think the neighborhood + complex works well for the 1.5 miles. That little section by the lake is still difficult to jog, but at least I only have to do it once with this route. Saw a couple geese, some ducks, squirrels, and a man walking two dogs. Shokz headphones are working perfectly for my jogs. I can hear my game as well as the outside, and I never have to adjust them.

9:36 am; 73° with 56 humidity and 8 mph wind; 1.5 miles; 18:30; 12:20/mi; a good jog! Really lovely weather, and I saw a great egret during my cooldown. I also saw a dove, some ducks, squirrels, and a few dogs. And a Whistling Duck again!!! There are only a few star jasmines on the bush left, but other flowers are in bloom and there are still scattered clovers. My jog was pretty easy. I did stop to text my roommate and I stopped for a walk towards the end, so that impacted my overall time but it’s still a pretty good average.

7:41 am; 72°; 1.5 miles; 18:15; 12:11/mi; ZR Season of the Hunter E3; today was a beautiful, warm, sunny run. I went a bit faster, and it was a bit easier than it has been for a few weeks. I don’t know if the time I went or the lovely weather played a role, but I am certain the neighborhood had something to do with it. Running in my ma’s neighborhood is so pleasant. I saw turtles in the ditch and passed a couple walking their dogs in the park. I hope my next jog is pleasant as well. I had to slow to a walk to cross the street twice, and once to turn around, and still my time was good. So, I must have really been moving.

The ground was still wet and puddly for my run, but no rain. No baby geese either. I think they must be gone for good :( I ran a touch longer than usual because I wanted to finish my episode. (Which is nice! It’s good to be interested enough in something to want to run longer. It’s also nice to be ambivalent enough about jogging to be willing to keep going just to get to a good stopping point in my story!!)

6:32 am; 61° at 100% humidity and 2 mph wind; 1.5 miles; 19:11; 12:45/mi; ZR Season of the Hunter E1 (incomplete); soooo foggy!!! Sooo humid! When I finished my run I had dewdrops in my hair (I mean, I also had sweat. But in addition to that. Dewdrops). No baby geese :(

Guys I just...love running? I finally found a way to make a fitness habit stick, and now that I have, I'm in the throes of enjoying it. I love knowing what kind of extra running gear I need, after so much trial and error (cap, sunglasses, sunblock if you know what's good for you!!!). I love feeling and noticing how my body is becoming more powerful--it's such an ecstatic delight to realize what had me keeling over two weeks ago I can do now with confidence. I love becoming a fixture in the neighborhood (people are recognizing me! I am now the girl who grins at dogs, the girl who tries and fails to help kids get their balls back when they throw it too far but the kids think it's sweet and funny, and of course, the girl who runs). I love having a fav warm up and cool down YouTuber (thanks Run with Ash) . I love posting pictures of my run and having a lil secret private Instagram page where I track my health progress. It's just so nice. From someone who found it so difficult to exercise, when you find the thing that helps you, it is so so nice

I was going to jog but it’s very, very rainy outside so I’ll hold off until tomorrow. Hopefully by then my Shokz will be in!!

Ok so we’re in between season of ZR and I’m not so much “out of things to listen to” as I am “caught up”. I like the main story line and that’s all I’ve ever really followed, but I was following along with season 10 and now that’s done and there’s no season 11 yet. So I’ve gone back and I’m listening to ZR Season 4 Radio Mode, which is interesting. I had been listening to it wayyy back but accidentally restarted it halfway through and didn’t care enough to listen all the way through to get to the bits I hadn’t heard yet. So now I’m relistening to it and remembering that I only ever cared about Don and Bas! And I haven’t heard from them in WEEKS! Where are Dom and Bas!! Are they coming back?? Last I heard was not good :( and I’d like them to live happily ever after with the two-headed dog. I’m sure Hugh and Elouise are very nice but they are getting in the way of me listening to Afterlife On Earth 😭

2:14 pm; 86° at 55% humidity and 9 mph wind; 1.5 miles; 19:21; 12:53/mi; ZRS4 Radio Mode; ok so it was a little warm but very cloudy and some strong wind gusts. It had drizzled off and on all morning, but I only felt a few droplets during the jog. Star jasmine is still blooming and fragrant. I passed (someone I assume to be) a neighbor who was walking like 3 times since we were going in opposite directions and I almost wanted to introduce myself to him. No goslings today :(. Clovers are still in bloom. Jog was not pleasant. I need to get someone to come with me I’m so bored of jogging in this stupid circle.

You can see in my heart rate that I walked like a lot in this brief 1.5 miler. I’ve got to slow down over all and work on steadiness.

10:55 am; 81°; 1.5 miles; 20:40; 13:45/mi; ZRS4 Radio Mode; This has been a rough week for jogging. I walked A Lot today and it was warmer than is comfortable. Also, there were two dead baby birds on my doorstep so I started off unhappy. But it is important that I went anyway. This week has a 3 day break which is not ideal. My right calf hurt on Monday, but it feels fine today so that’s good. And even if I didn’t want to jog, it really is a beautiful day and worth being outside for some of it. And I saw the baby geese, which was nice.
