idk how to put it, but I seem to have an issue with radio style podcasts.

I listened to a bunch of WtNV episodes (56 to be exact), and it felt like a chore, there was this whole super funny and absurd world unfolding in my ears, but the whole radio speech makes it incredibly hard to focus and actually process what Cecil is saying.

then yesterday I started Hello from the Hallowoods, and I encountered the same exact problem; I turned that one off after 3 episodes, I kept having to rewind it.

it's a pity, because both worlds seem incredibly interesting (although Hello from the Hallowoods is a bit more engaging for me), but the speaking style just completely ruins it for me.

anyways, in the past few days I've gotten hooked on How I Died, realized the seasons are short and there's only 3 of them out so I stopped after the season 2 finale (although I would like to add that the ad breaks are straight up ruining the episodes. and no, I can't afford their stupid patreon and I shouldn't be punished for being broke by completely throwing me out of the mood and flow of every single episode. I hate feeling straight up bullied into paying for a luxury I simply can't afford.)

yesterday I finally gave in and started The Penumbra podcast, and I was immediately hooked on the Juno Steel storyline, so I think I'll stick to this one.

this break resulted in me needing something light-hearted to wash down the Malevolent Anxiety™️ with, which ended up being Sherlock & Co.

should I post the live notes on this blog (essentially turning it's theme from horror podcasts to general podcasts) or my multifandom blog @ginnvngagap (thereby preserving the horror theme of this blog)?

yeah so, Malevolent isn't scarier than TMA (I mean ffs it's mostly a romcom), but it is significantly more stressful. with TMA there's a certain distance I got through the statements, and most of the action happened in season finales, so it's pretty chill overall.

and then there's these two fxcking idiots who just can't catch a fxcking break, and frankly my anxiety levels are through the roof and I'm exhausted.

you'll see in my live notes once I post them that I joke about them stumbling into shelters to rest only to discover that it's a nest of some creature beyond their comprehension or just plain hostile, at least FOUR TIMES in 30 episodes, and let's be real, those four times cover most of all their attempts at rest.

just finished part 30, and of course it was great, but then they arrived at their airbnb only to discover that the building is so cursed John can fxcking see the darkness clinging to it, and I just groaned out loud like "fxckmenotagaiiin"

so yeah, I decided to take a break for the sake of my sanity, brb
