HI sorry I've been so inactive!! Real bad art block and generally puttin' more focus on original stuff than fanart lately lol! BUT with that said I finally got around to restocking my Star Holographic "Roll For Zestiness" stickers in my Etsy, and I put a good chunk of my old TAZ art on my Redbubble! Don't know when I'll get around to making new art just yet but I figure it's been a while since I've posted to this blog and might as well update stuff!!

Howdy!! I realize I probably should've put this here on my TAZ sideblogs too lmao, but my shop is temporarily closing soon!! We've got a lot of TAZ merch left in stock, but quite a few of the designs are "last chance" designs that won't be restocked after we come back from the break! We'll hopefully have new TAZ designs by then to replace all the ones we're taking out of the shop :] we have stickers (mini, medium, jumbo, and glow in the dark), art prints, temporary tattoos, button pins, and 3d keychains! Just wanted to put these here too and let y'all know that I've still got some stuff in stock before a lot of them are gone for good!

Also I feel like I should add!! I know Etsy sometimes has a bit of trouble calculating shipping if you're buying multiple items (it tries to guess how big a box holding multiple items will have to be based on the size/weight of the things inside, and sometimes overcharges to make sure it still covers shipping if the seller needs a bigger box to fit more than one thing in it - this usually isn't a problem with trinkets, but larger/heavier items like plushies, hats, and soaps can sometimes skew the calculations). If it seems like you're being charged way too much for shipping, send me a message through Etsy and I may possibly be able to fix it manually! Can't guarantee it just in case Etsy's calculations ARE right, but I can double check to make sure!

HOWDY MY ETSY SHOP WILL BE TEMPORARILY CLOSING SOON!! I'M HOSTING A BIG SALE TO TRY TO GET RID OF AS MUCH CURRENT INVENTORY AS I CAN BEFORE WE SHUT DOWN!!

I'm trying to get rid of as much current stock as I can- the store will close once everything (or at least most of it) is sold, and then the shop will be set to Vacation Mode for the foreseeable future!

I want to redo nearly everything, from the way each item is made, how my shop is organized and items are categorized, my packaging, how everything is priced, the photography of items, and more - I want to start pretty much everything from the ground up now that I actually have some experience as a shop owner and not having to continue off of the extremely basic groundwork I laid as a very beginner to selling my art and merch online!

We'll be back after a while! We don't have a specific time frame yet for how long we'll be gone, just however long it takes to get everything revamped new and improved, which will probably be at least a few months of being down, if not longer- But who knows! This definitely isn't the end of our shop, just a break before the start of a new chapter of it!

(oh and just putting this here too- all preorders are still going to be made and shipped out as written in their descriptions, so no need to worry there!)

Even if you can't buy anything, reblogs are super appreciated! The faster I can clear out my inventory to close up shop, the faster I'll be able to come back better than ever!

Howdy to all my TAZ followers; forgive me for the inactivity lately I've been dealing with some medical stuff so I haven't had as much energy to draw TAZ as usual lol. But I just wanted to pop in and say that I've got new TAZ merch in my shop! 3D car keychains are now available in three designs: "Sizzle it Up!", "The Ram", and "The Raven"! (More pictures in links)

Been thinking about Governor Kalen and the ways the fandom wants to see him get justice a little bit lately and forgive me for being capital P Predictable but I have an Opinion. I've seen many a "Reaper Squad hunts down Kalen" posts, I've seen a good few "Team Sweet Flips hunts down Kalen" posts, I've even seen some Lucretia and other npc posts about it. And I just want to say those are all awesome and I love them and I enjoy fics about that a lot HOWEVER. To be autistic about this I know in my heart if anybody were to hunt down Kalen it would be miss Jocasta "gave up nearly everything she's worked for in life to un-retire from adventuring because if she can't go out and fight for what's right and bring comfort and safety to the world and her loved ones via Shooting People With a Crossbow she will literally crumple up into a ball and die of sadness" Nightstrider. She would love hunting down that sack of shit so he can't hurt Magnus or anybody else ever again I know it in my heart so so much

ok honestly when i think about TAZ, which i've never watched/listened to, i think about jocasta nightstrider immediately because of you and now you're saying they're NOT WELL KNOWNNN ?? this is wild to me

Anon this is genuinely so funny and delighting to hear and I mean that in the absolute most complementary way possible. By technicality lots of people know the character- but only by their deadname and old identity from the original series (TAZ: Balance). They "transition" in the sequel (TAZ: Imbalance) and Jocasta Nightstrider is their current and future self going forward in the series, it's just that afaik basically nobody watched the sequel which means nobody knows about Jocasta lol. I'm pretty sure that despite being one of the main characters Jocasta is the second least-known character in the entire series, second only to Kuo which is a minor character also exclusive to the sequel. I'm pretty much the only person who regularly posts about them, which gets a bit lonely in the fandom sometimes but I'm generally pretty happy sitting in my corner doodling little drawings of this completely unknown character lol.

Though hey, if you like silly fantasy stories made with a ton of heart and as many heartwrenching scenes as hilarious ones, I'd totally recommend TAZ! It starts a little slow in the very beginning but it's definitely worth it in the long run!! And obviously I'm biased as The Jocasta Guy but the sequel's especially good lmao 👍

Is Jocasta Nightstrider Taako from Tv????

by which i mean is Jocasta and Taako is the same character?? This whole time i was under the impression Jocasta was a completely separate character?? who is Jocasta????

Howdy!! Jocasta Nightstrider and "Taako Taaco" are the same character but at very different points in their life!! "Taako" is who we see them as throughout Balance and the following 9 years after Story and Song that the liveshows happen throughout. However during the sequel, The Zone of Adventure: Imbalance (a 3-part miniseries that takes place 10 years after Story and Song), "Taako" goes through a really severe identity crisis and generally is having a Really Bad Time in regards to the overwhelming social isolation and stripping of his personhood that comes with Everybody in Every Universe Everywhere treating him as some godly savior and not as a real person.

There's a lot of development that happens but basically his response is to go through an extremely trans-coded character arc where he reclaims his life and body as his own to choose what to do with instead of continuing to let other people's expectations for him force him to be somebody that he doesn't like being. He starts back from zero, letting go of his wizarding days and starting a clean slate as a Ranger. He changes his name (now going by Jocasta Nightstrider), voice (taking up a faux-Shakespearean accent), how he dresses (donning a shimmery purple cloak), and sets off into the world as a completely changed individual to go adventure again, hoping to help those in need and do good in the world in a way that he wouldn't have ever been able to when he was chained down by his old identity.

So yeah! They're the same person, "Taako" is basically Jocasta's deadname, and Jo's just a much happier and healthier version of themself :] I think it was handled really wonderfully and Jocasta's my absolute favorite iteration of the character, their journey of reinventing themself and healing from their past trauma came at a time I really needed it so it's a character and story that I'm particularly attached to, if you couldn't tell haha.

If you wanted to watch it (it's very short, only 3 episodes), it was just recently uploaded to all the podcast sites alongside where the rest of The Adventure Zone airs as a direct continuation, but I personally think the best way to watch it is from their YouTube channel where it was originally uploaded 2 years ago, it has video and it's really entertaining to actually see everyone playing their characters with each other!
