The Adventure Zone has taken over my life.

Y’know how rarely I make fannart?? You probably don’t, but,, it’s not a lot.

I listened to Balance for the first time recently. Yeah yeah, I know I’m late to it. In my defense I was like, nine when it came out.

It was such a good story. The twists are so crazy, but they work, which blows my mind almost as much as the twists themselves.

Makes me want to create.

(I’ll post the finished drawing soon. But I’m real happy with the lineart on this one.)

I came across an old sketch of these two and decided to redraw it as a lil warmup and new brush experiment haha I love more humanoid depictions of gnomes (and specifically Davenport) but it’s fun to explore a more creature-like design for him as well..

I had an amazing time working on this and getting to work on a piece for a podcast so near and dear to me! I had a lot of fun making this, feel like I've improved in certain aspects, and even got a couple of my friends into the podcast! Thank you so much for the opportunity! ID: A drawing in a frame. The painting is of Magic Brian standing in a cave in front of a pit, Bryan the spider behind him. Along the frame are the Bureau of Balance symbols and carvings of the voidfish. TAZ Balance fanart? In 2023? It’s more likely than you think

I just started listening to THE ADVENTURE ZONE, and boy oh boy I'm having fun.

I've been relistening to TAZ: Balance again (shocker, I know), and I can't help but wonder about Merle's encounter with the Chalice.

As you probably know if you're reading this, the decision the Chalice gives him is the option to undo the moment where he grabbed the tourmaline bomb in Crystal Kingdom and lost his arm. This has always irked me a little because... Like Magnus and Taako's "Worst Moments" were both from their backstory, but Merle's worst moment is from a few months ago?

Could you imagine if instead, he was given the chance to undo Gundren being shot by the emorc so they could save Phandalin and spare his cousin? What if he got to choose not to marry Hekuba? Merle's whole thing has always been about his connections to other people. His connections to the other Bois, his connection to Pan, his ability to waddle into any situation and connect with people in a real, albeit strange way like preaching the good word of Pan to Cassedy in the mines or threatening to send a train after the Hammerheads or, less presently, meeting with John in Parley all those loops.

If Griffin had appealed to Merle's connections instead of his bad luck, would Merle have actually taken the deal? If he was told he could save his cousin, save Phandalin, and get off the path that led to him losing an arm, would he hesitate longer? Would he take the deal.

Idk. Maybe it's just the Die Hard Merle Fan in me that wishes he'd been treated more seriously, with the same gravity as the other Bois, long before Stolen Century
