Ryan, on the subject of surprise parties: I don’t like loud noises and people making a fuss. And I especially don’t like people celebrating because they know a piece of private information about me. Plus the whole thing is a scam: birthdays were invented by Hallmark to sell cards.

Laura, after Chris is killed: It's over. We won.
(Everyone tries to warn her about Silas the White Wolf right behind her)
Laura: No. We won. I'm not turning around and looking at it. We won.

Jacob: I’m a very bad person. I'm a very, very bad person. I’m a horrible person.
Everyone else:
Jacob: “No you’re not, Jake! We still love you!”

Kaitlyn, to Jacob: So, what’s up with you and Emma? I’m sensing some tension.
Kaitlyn, talking to Dylan later: I didn’t sense any tension, I was just looking for some drama and figured Jake and Emma were a safe bet.

The Quarry having a similar ending to Until Dawn with the police questioning the councillors, except make it a comedic montage of the councillors telling wildly different versions of how the night played out.
‘What happened to Dylan’s hand?’
Ryan: Dylan got infected.
Kaitlyn: We had no other choice than to amputate.
Nick: I think an animal bit his hand off ¯\(°_o)/¯
Abigail: It was all a blur.
Dylan: Officer, I fell on that chainsaw.
.
‘How was Chris Hackett involved?’
Ryan: Chris has been nothing but good to me - to us - all summer. He’s not a bad guy, he wouldn’t ever willingly hurt anyone. It’s not like he asked to be cursed.
Max: Chris Hackett is a punk ass bitch and here’s why *insert ten page essay: by Laura Kearney*)
.
‘What was chasing you?’
Kaitlyn: I know it’s hard to believe, but werewolves.
Emma: I have no idea, but it wasn’t a bear.
Dylan: Regret.
Nick: I saw a boar at one point.
Ryan: The Hag of Hackett’s Quarry
Max: I was a werewolf.
Laura: The Hackett’s.
Abigail: Werewolf.
Jacob: idk but I found a body in the lake.

I think it's only just dawning on me how important Jacob and Kaitlyn's friendship is to me, because seeing hot-guy-attracted-to-women/hot-girl-attracted-to-men friendship representation? Where there's no hint of them wanting to date each other? Where they can be like "yeah, we used to practice kissing but there's nothing there" and the characters and narrative around them believe them and don't try to force it to be more than it is? Fuuuuuck, can we get more of that so we can start deprogramming the deep, deep distrust baked into straight culture
#the quarry#jacob custos#kaitlyn ka#their friendship is just very important to me okay#as a girl who's had a lot of guy best friends throughout my life and had to deal with the fallout of *checks notes* existing#I would love this dynamic to become so so normalised

Max: Shh, it’s going to be alright
Travis: Why are you squeezing me with your body?
Max: It’s a hug. I’m hugging you.
#the quarry#incorrect quotes#source: arrested development#max brinly#thackett#if we're gonna run with the idea that Laura and Travis are chill post game#which I'm frankly not convinced I jive with#then we should be making max and travis interact as well

Emma: I hate Jacob!
Abigail: Then you may be sending mixed signals by making out with him
#the quarry#incorrect quotes#emma mountebank#jacob custos#emma x jacob#I guess#More an observation#Personally I get it from a character point of view#emma wants people to like her. Or think well of her.#she wants to push boundaries and hold boundaries but she wants to come away from it both with her cake and having eaten her cake#she's playing the part people want her to play#So yes she wants to just have a summer fling with Jake#And yes she knows he wants more than that and that stringing him along will hurt him#But it'll hurt him tomorrow whereas playing the part will stop him being sad right now#he won't be mad at her right now#But as a PERSON if I saw a REAL PERSON making these choices?#Emma. Girl. What are you doing.#Anyway I'll shut up now.#source: what I like about you

It was and still remains so baffling to me to see so many streamers react to Laura and Ryan as if they’re flirting… and to have the game actually overtly state that they had romantic chemistry… because I saw literally nothing but barely contained animosity between those two for like 80% of their interactions. They like genuinely hate each other when they meet. Do I just have some condition that doesn’t let me see it? Like the reverse of when straight people can’t pick up on queer subtext, I just can’t see the hetero googly eyes? To me they are the definition of wearing the get along shirt
#it takes ryan getting stabbed for them to put it aside properly#the girl is out to kill his basically dad you guys#she is so hardcore ride or die for max she became sarah connor#ryan: you just murdered one of my best friends I'm disinclined to help you murder my father figure >:(#laura: wooooow are you flirting with me???#everyone else: yes this is what flirting looks like the game is correct#I just don't understand#I absolutely concede to them moving past hating each other#bonding#becoming close and looking out for each other#but that's not the same thing#anyway#I'll die on this hill
