FutureCommPR Talks with Bridget Ludy of Chocolates for Diabetics
Introducing a Sweet Solution for Health-Conscious Indulgence this Christmas Season
Sometimes, a significant life event can serve as the catalyst for a new direction in life.  In January 2018, Bridget Ludy was struck by a flu-like virus, marking the beginning of a prolonged physical ordeal for her.  As the effects persisted, her health situation intensified and in August of that same year she was hospitalized.  Subsequent comprehensive testing revealed a diagnosis of a rare form of Diabetes. Enduring almost two weeks in the ICU and not expected to survive, she emerged from this critical phase fueled by a renewed mission and sense of purpose.  Her mission was to create a new company called Healthful Chocolates.
Her four-decades long career as a Chocolatier provided the experience that was needed for that new mission - to create a premium sugar-free gourmet chocolate because she simply could not give up chocolate herself.   She worked to create “Chocolates for Diabetics” launching officially in January 2024 but already seeing major success with pre-orders via phone during the current Christmas season soft launch.  Ludy said that ��Her goal was to develop a sugar-free, kosher, keto-friendly, non-GMO, vegetarian chocolate.”  The diabetic population, currently at over 37.3 million in the U.S. alone is projected to exceed 54.9 million by the year 2030.  Her product line has surfaced as an ideal solution for individuals that are health conscious but still crave that chocolate treat.
In the intricate stages of product development, Ludy took a strategic approach by involving a diverse test audience, consisting of over 100 diabetics from various parts of the nation.  This comprehensive sampling initiative aimed to gather firsthand insights into the potential impact of this new chocolate creation on blood sugar levels.  The participants, after experiencing the chocolate, not only reported no discernible effects on their blood sugar but also expressed profound amazement at the creamy texture and the delectable richness of the product.
The crucial feedback gathered during this testing phase played a paramount role in solidifying Ludy’s confidence in the product’s viability and appeal.  Recognizing the positive responses as a testament to the careful craftsmanship, she was assured that she had indeed crafted a recipe for success.  This invaluable feedback not only validated the product’s efficacy but also underscored its potential to resonate positively with the target audience, marking a crucial milestone in the journey towards the official launch of “Chocolates for Diabetics.”
As Ludy looked back, she said that “Ultimately the Lord had other plans for her” when she emerged from that ICU stay.  She has developed four flavors for the launch of the online store (https://chocolatesfordiabetics.com):  Kona Coffee Cappuccino, Mint, Dark Chocolate, and Raspberry.  All four are gourmet sugar-free.  The website is straight forward with four products and the ability to purchase gift cards for friends and family.  Ludy’s commitment to providing premium sugar-free chocolate is realized via her company, Healthful Chocolates.  She is currently working to secure additional funding for scaling production and bringing this innovative product line to the market worldwide.

[November 27, 2023, San Francisco, CA] A gamer, a chocolatier, and a business consultant stand as extraordinary examples of innovation, resilience, and leadership.  At the forefront of their respective industries, these women have not only carved out distinctive niches but have also become living testaments to the transformative influence of women in business.  Each of these leaders has forged a distinctive path, showcasing the potency of determination and strategic vision in accomplishing remarkable milestones.  FutureCommPR sat down with these three leaders to find out more about their individual paths to success.
Brandii Grace, CEO of Games by Brandii (G.B.B.), boasts an impressive two-decade tenure in the gaming industry.  Her background features roles as a designer on AAA, console, and mobile games for companies like Disney, Activision, and Warner Bros.  She was also a programmer at Microsoft Games, helping to launch their most successful console system.  As a game design instructor for programs at DigiPen and the New York Film Academy, Grace earned the International Game Developers Association’s MVP award for her industry leadership.  She was also a founder of Versus Systems currently traded on NASDAQ.  “The success of the Barbie movie has shown us that if we want our stories told, we’re going to have to do it ourselves” Grace said. Leveraging her extensive experience, she embarked on her new venture – establishing a studio focused on creating games tailored for women (ThreeDaysGame.com). 
There is a noticeable absence in the gaming landscape when it comes to addressing social topics that women can connect with.  “I started making games because I’m a storyteller at heart.  Games can serve as an unparalleled medium for conveying meaningful narratives about systemic issues, providing a safe space to explore diverse experiences” she said.  Rooted in real-life stories and dedicated to addressing significant social issues, there are two games currently in development “Redlined,” and “Three Days.”  “Redlined” is a narrative city builder that plays through a century of historic, real-world housing policies.  “Three Days” is a visual novel that will launch first.  It’s an edgy drama about love, loss, and pregnancy.  The inaugural game is slated for release in 2024, and Grace is actively working to secure a modest marketing budget of $50k. 
Transitioning from the tech sector to healthcare, we spoke with Bridget Ludy, President, and Founder of Pivotal Health.  With heightened awareness on the importance of maintaining personal health via dietary habits, Ludy is preparing to launch a line of chocolate products that are sugar-free, kosher, keto-friendly, non-GMO, vegetarian, and suitable for diabetics.  Ludy has over forty years of experience in chocolate making and drawing from her own personal journey with a diabetes diagnosis, she identified a market need for gourmet-level chocolate products.  This realization fueled the establishment of her company (PivotalHealth.biz).  “We have developed a solution that provides a premium quality chocolate experience that delivers both a delicious taste and the health benefits of being sugar-free” Ludy said.  The diabetic population, currently at 37.3 million in the U.S., is projected to exceed 54.9 million by 2030.  Her product line has emerged as an ideal solution for individuals that are health conscious but still crave that chocolate treat.  The official launch is January 2024, and they are currently working to secure funding to scale production and bring their product to market.
Moving from healthcare to business consultancy, we spoke with Elizabeth Italiano, Managing Partner, at GTM Advisors (GTMAdvisors.com).  Italiano’s entrepreneurial journey commenced with her first startup Radian6, which was later acquired by Salesforce.  Following experiences with various early-stage startups, she found herself interested in working for herself and launched WNTD Partners, eventually paving the way for the establishment of GTM Advisors alongside her co-founders.  Specializing in diagnosing go-to-market (GTM) issues, the company is dedicated to guiding companies through problem resolution.  “We wanted to truly partner with our clients every step of the way from diagnosing problems to identifying opportunities through implementation of recommendations,” said Italiano.
The company offers bespoke solutions rather than cookie-cutter frameworks.  “Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to work in marketing, sales, customer success, and even accounting and I wanted to share those experiences and knowledge” she said.  The company’s original mission is still in place today, continued Italiano, “make a difference for our clients.”  The company launched in early 2023 in challenging economic conditions but has found themselves with a robust number of clients via their network and marketing efforts.  The keys to success for GMT Advisors have been to “test, learn, and iterate” she continued.  She encourages other entrepreneurs to ask trusted friends or mentors for advice.  She says that “tenacity is critical, and you need to have the ability to persevere through failures.”
The successes of these three founders highlight their creativity and resourcefulness but also underscore their unwavering commitment to a mindset of perpetual learning and adaptability.  This dynamic approach, responsive to the ever-evolving landscape of their respective industries, has played the main role in steering their ventures toward notable achievements.  As we look forward to 2024, the anticipated growth and expansion of these companies promises to be intriguing narratives.

Currently, the app is available for download in major app stores.  Free accounts are available, and Phillips has also established a revenue model, with seller and creator accounts charged a nominal fee for enhanced access to information and the ability to showcase their content on a promotional tab.  Additional revenue will come from the marketplace called “The Bodega” that will offer free, same-day delivery for in-app purchases.  Local drivers will deliver the items which will provide local businesses with additional customers.  The app is designed for individuals over 18, allowing ample freedom for self-expression. Its unique "nametag close proximity" platform sets it apart as an innovative concept.
Phillips and his team are actively expanding their workforce and seeking additional funding to further improve the app and execute effective promotional strategies. The additional funding will also support user acquisition through influencer shoutouts, advertisements, podcast mentions, and ongoing design advancements. As a resident of Las Vegas, the party capital, Phillips understands the needs and desires of the social app user. As the app evolves, businesses will have the opportunity to send special offers to users when they are on their premises, leveraging the app's capabilities. Green Up the Planet Launches Ecology Fundraiser
Green Up the Planet is a nonprofit organization devoted to providing underfunded schools with vital resources for teaching students about the environment. They have recently announced the launch of their fundraising campaign to support their upcoming ecology project, coinciding with the fall reopening of schools.  With a vision to create a greener future for all, Green Up the Planet strives to empower schools and inspire environmental stewardship.
In recent years, public schools have encountered a multitude of challenges, including the impacts of COVID-19, the surging growth of homeschooling, and insufficient funding. As schools strive to adapt their learning environments, the challenges range from a shortage of books and supplies to limited access to technology. Jacob Dearing, Board Director of Green Up The Planet, stresses “there is an urgent need for greater investments in our educational infrastructure, as these challenges have become even more evident.”
School districts continue to grapple with critical budget cuts and funding shortages that are expected to deepen further. This presents a crucial opportunity for both industries and nonprofits to step up and fill the void. Green Up the Planet was established with the mission to ensure that underfunded schools have access to innovative tools for teaching critically important subjects such as ecology and protecting the environment.
Students at schools participating in the Green Up the Planet program will receive a packet containing a grade/age-appropriate book about plants, engaging stickers, a seed packet, and a t-shirt featuring the Green Up the Planet logo. The intention of these resources is to ignite discussions about the environment, fostering engagement not only within the classroom setting but also extending beyond its boundaries.  The supplies are currently being stocked and assembled, and distribution to schools will begin in October.  Through direct collaboration with suppliers, the organization has successfully secured below wholesale costs for all items contained in the packets.
