Show me a retired Olympic athlete who is bitter they never tasted victory and trying to relive their glory days. Really wish they had mentioned Bowen Yang’s character’s name in Wicked. Like I know he’s credited as Pfannee and the other friend is called Shenshen but like because they didn’t ever establish what their characters’ names were within the movie I’m just sitting there watching like, yas there’s Galinda and there’s Elphaba and that’s Madame Morrible and that’s Bowen Yang and Bowen Yang’s blonde friend and also Dr. Dillamond…

If I have to watch the credits to find out what you named your characters then you didn’t actually name them. You could’ve just as easily called them Galinda’s Friend #1 and Galinda’s Friend #2…

Can anyone explain to me who actually created Glinda’s bubble? Like who invented it/gave it to her to use? Because we know Glinda doesn’t know how and neither does the wizard. Elphie wasn’t there to do it. Morrible’s specialty is weather but I guess that doesn’t mean she couldn’t also do bubbles, right? Was it her? Is it ever explained in the book(s) because the musical sure doesn’t.

Changing “get her!” to “kill her!” is a tiny lyric change that has a much bigger impact than you might think. I was sitting in the theater like did I actually hear that right? And I did. So what does this change actually mean?

“Get her!” means they just want to catch her before she goes too far. Reprimand her. Get the Grimmerie back. Rehabilitate her.

“Kill her!” means even though the citizens of Oz don’t fully know what she’s done other than the message from Madame Morrible, they are already ready to kill her within minutes of hearing the news. It means we skip all of the escalation and twisting of the propaganda that happens between the end of defying gravity and march of the witch hunters. If we start out at wanting to kill her, then where do you go? How do you escalate when you start at 100?
