Reigen x Reader
Sweet As Pie - Part 7
Mob got to the office around 3:20, finding a very antsy Reigen.
“Hello Master, are you alright? You’re sweating more than usual.”
Reigen stiffened at Mob’s observation, not realizing he’d been so obvious. “Oh- Hey Mob, yeah I’m just fine. Just ready to do some exorcisms! Hahaha…..” He coughed into his hand. “We should start heading to the client.”
The first exorcist went well, a ‘small fry’ that was far too easy for Reigen to bother with, that also didn’t take much effort from Mob. The second one, however, proved to be a bit more difficult. Reigen thought it would be simple, more providing peace of mind. The client said their mother had porcelain dolls that were surely haunted, but the mother refused to part with them. It ended up being several evil spirits that had been sapping energy from the old women. It turned out to take a lot longer than expected for them (mostly Mob, as Reigen kept both ladies calm) to get rid of each evil spirit. It turned into a strange game of hide and seek as the spirits would switch from doll to doll, forcing Mob to basically chase them around the house. With their last two clients done for the day, Reigen and Mob headed back to the office.
As they were heading back, Reigen’s phone pinged, making the man smile before he’d even fished his phone out of his pocket.
4:47 (Y/N): Hey is Mob with you
4:48 (Reigen): Yea we just finished our last job. Sup?
4:48 (Y/N): can u bring him to the shop
I tried to text him earlier but he hasn’t answered
Reigen raised a brow at the message, but turned to find Mob already staring at him. “Do we have a last minute client, Master?”
Reigen shook his head. “Nah it’s (Y/N). She said she texted you earlier, but we must have been in the middle of the exorcism.”
Mob quickly pulled out his, checking his message. After a moment, realization dawned on the boy. “Wait, when did you get Miss (Y/N)’s number?”
Reigen stiffened. Ah shit, he let that slip. “Oh uhhh she has it through the bakery! Rewards program, you know?” He tried to ignore the awkward sweat building up.
Mob’s brow’s furrowed. “Isn’t it misuse of private information for her to pull it up like that?”
Shit shit shit, now he was making her look bad. “N-not at all! I uhhhh had asked her about one of my favorites that had been out of stock! She was letting me know it had come back in and I told her I was with you, strictly bakery business, yeah.” Why was Reigen even lying to Mob about this? Why not just say the two of them were friends? He didn’t even know, he just felt too… embarrassed to admit it to the boy… Maybe he was worried Mob wouldn’t approve.
The boy didn’t look very convinced, but he didn’t press the issue. Instead he turned his attention back to his phone, answering (Y/N) no doubt. After a few moments of awkward silence (mostly just awkward on Reigen’s end), Mob spoke. “I’ll be going to the bakery now, she wants me to bring some things home to my family.”
Reigen fought through his awkwardness. “I’ll come with you! To uh, see what she got in stock.”
As the two arrived, they could hear muffled shouting from inside.
“I’m sick and tired of your attitude! You need to grow up and listen to those smarter than you!” The man slammed his hands on the counter and the duo quickly made their way inside.
(Y/N) simmered in a quiet rage. “Listen, it’s been 10 years, and I’ve never asked you, or anyone else, for anything. Get out, I’m not doing this bullshit with you. If anyone needs to grow up, it’s you.”
Reigen was quick to step forward, before tensions could rise further. “Hey, I think you need to leave.”
The man barley spared him a glance, before getting in (Y/N)’s face, his voice dripping with venom. “Sooner or later the old hag won’t be around to protect you anymore, what then? There will be nothing stopping me from using force, if you won’t listen to reason.”
The building began to shake, throwing the man into confusion. Suddenly, Mob’s hand was on his shoulder, his grip firm. “If you even think of laying a hand on Miss (Y/N), I will personally make sure you’re unable to lay a hand on anyone ever again.”
Reigen was by his side. “It’s time for you to go.” The man was practically thrown from the building, landing outside in a heap. “Don’t come back.” The door swung closed behind him, the blinds falling closed without anyone touching them.
All eyes fell on (Y/N) as she laughed at the absurdity of what had just happened. “Man… look at you. Gone are the days of me fighting off your bullies, huh? Now you’re taking it upon yourself to fight off mine.” She came out from behind the counter, pulling Mob into a fierce hug, then harshly grabbing him by the cheek. “I appreciate you standing up for me, but don’t put yourselves in harm’s way. You know me, you know I had it covered.” She released his cheek, affectionately ruffling his hair.
Mob flushed, avoiding her gaze as he rubbed his sore cheek.
“I’m sorry, Miss (Y/N), but I couldn’t stand by when he was being so cruel to you.” Mob gave her a pleading look.
Reigen crossed his arms, looking towards the door. “Who the hell is that guy anyway? That’s the same guy that was giving you trouble the other day, right?”
Mob’s eyes reignited with anger, an edge to his voice. “He’s bothered you before?”
(Y/N) placed a gentle hand on the boy’s head. “Listen here, I told you to come pick up sweets, not fight off bullies. … Shigeo, I promise I have it handled. If I need help I know you, and Reigen, would come running. I promise I’m okay.”
The boy sighed, some of then tension leaving his shoulders. “As long as you promise to ask for help if you need it.”
The woman gave his shoulder a squeeze. “I promise. I’ll even have Reigen stay with me while I close to make sure he doesn’t come back, okay? You take these and go home.” She shoved a bag of pastries in his arms. “They came out ugly, but they’ll still taste good. Tell your parents and Ritsu I send them my love.”
Mob gave her a bow, thanking her, but stopped Reigen on his way out. “Master… you’ll make sure she’s really okay?”
Reigen gave him a thumbs up. “Don’t worry, Mob. I’ve got it covered.”
With Mob gone, Reigen turned back to (Y/N). “So… care to explain who that guy is and what he wants from you?”
(Y/N) sighed. “Lock the door and come sit with me while I prep.” Reigen nodded, coming back into the kitchen, taking a seat with her at the mixing counter. She had various bowls, cookies sheets, baskets, and other tools set out.
“Just don’t touch. … I guess I kinda owe you can explanation, now that he’s come around twice.” She cracked some eggs into a bowl, measuring out other ingredients. “So um… my family life isn’t the best. I moved to Seasoning City when I was around 15. I wanted to pursue art, my parents weren’t too supportive of that; they said it was a waste of time and I’d turn out a failure. My parents insisted I go to the high school of their choosing, I stuck it out for about a year before I told my Nan…. She has always been my biggest supporter, and when I told her what my parents had said to me she decided to take me in. She let me pursue arts here, and I ended up loving helping her here at the bakery. It’s a good way to have my creative outlet, and it’s a pre-established business so it’s not like I had to work from the ground up.” She chuckled. “That’s why my lettering was horrible but I was good at the art side.” She looked thoughtful as she kneaded the dough. “The guy that was here earlier… that’s my brother.”
Reigen was clearly taken aback. “Your brother?! Why is he threatening you?!”
(Y/N) sighed as she cut the dough, moving to put first rack into the oven. “Well… Nan is uh… kinda wealthy. My Grandfather was a businessman, made soon good investments, so they were well off. Nan opened the bakery after them came into their wealth, she had a passion of baking, and it was an easy risk for them to take financially. After my Grandfather passed, Nan realized she needed to make a will.”
(Y/N) shook her head. “I’ll never understand how the rest of my family found out but… Nan is leaving the bakery to me, as well as a good chuck of money incase I struggle to keep it running after she’s gone. My parents and my brother are… less than thrilled that the ‘family failure’ will be the one to inherit most of her assets. They think it’s unfair, and are trying to convince me to sell it so that the pool of money is bigger so that they all get more.”
There was a fire in her eyes as she looked at him. “I’m not going to do it. No matter how much they try to bully me, no matter how much they harass me, I will not give this place up. I absolutely refuse to let my grandparents legacy be reduced to dollar bills when I can run this place and continue to share the love and work they put into making this place what it is. I just… I hope I’m worthy… I hope I make them proud.”
Reigen gently placed his hands on her shoulders. “Hey…. You already make them proud, that isn’t going to change. And you have people in your corner! Me, sounds like the whole Kageyama household, and your friend Kai and your cousin reached out to you, too. It sounds like you’re already doing something right if Ritsu likes you, every time I see the kid he looks like he wants me to burst into flames.”
That pulled a laugh from her, some tension easing from her shoulders. “Thank you, Reigen. … I know you haven’t been in my life very long, but I already don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“I don’t plan on going anywhere, not when you single handedly halved my food bill.”She laughed, giving him a playful shove. Reigen smiled, pulling her into a much needed hug. “Seriously though… you’re important to me. Now, what can I do to help you prep so we can get you outta here and get something to eat?”

Reigen x Reader
Sweet As Pie - Part 6
Reigen did his best to fight his growing jealousy. Sure, he and (Y/N) were friends, but it’s not like they were dating. He shouldn’t feel this way, he tried to push it to the back of his mind. (Y/N) drew him from his thoughts.
“Um, thank you for walking me. You should pick something to bring back with you.” She wouldn’t meet his gaze, her face still burning from whatever Kai had said to her.
Reigen’s eye twitched, shoving his hands in his pockets. “Yeah…. no problem. Who is Kai anyway?” He tried to keep his tone nonchalant, but there was a definite edge to it.
“Oh, uh, he’s sort of a family friend. I know him through my cousin, Sora. We went to middle and high school together, I haven’t seen either of them in a few years. When I moved to Seasoning City I kinda slowly lost contact with people from home.” She wiped down the counters as she spoke, setting up the shelves for the day.
Reigen’s hands clenched in his pockets. “Guess I’m not so special in the free pastry department anymore.” She looked up from the case, but Reigen wouldn’t make eye contact; he scowled at the ground instead.
“Reigen…” she sighed, “I made you a cake, didn’t I? You haven’t even tried it yet, either.” She frowned. “Is the cake not special?”
Reigen hung his head in defeat. “I’m sorry, that’s not what I meant. I guess I’m in a weird mood today. … Shoot I really need to head back. Look… can I come by to help you close up? I’m sorry I’ve had a weird attitude. Can I make it up to you?”
(Y/N) ran a hand through her hair, toying with the ends. “I need to get some prep done after closing… but I wouldn’t mind having some company if you wanted to come by. Let me know what you think of the cake?”
Reigen nodded, giving her a smile. “I definitely will, I’m sure it’ll be perfect. I could pick up food on the way tonight, or we could stop somewhere when you’re done prepping?”
(Y/N) thought for a moment, then grabbed a sticky note, scribbling something down on it. With a shy smile, she handed him the note. “Text me what you’re feeling and we can make plans.”
Reigen chuckled. “Man, you’ve my credit card number, birthday, and now you’re going for phone number? Really trying to collect all the digits, huh?”
The girl laughed, giving him a nudge with her shoulder. “Get outta here, don’t you have a client or something? Someone to both that’s not me?”
He held up his hands in surrender. “Okay, okay, I’m going.” He flipped the sign to open for her. “See you tonight, Miss Baker.”
She flushed under his gaze. “See you tonight, Mister Psychic.”
——
Reigen felt awfully silly for his jealousy. It seemed clear to him that (Y/N) had feelings for him, but he was worried he’d somehow read it all wrong and didn’t want to mess up their friendship. What he couldn’t get out of his head though, that had his anxiety rearing its ugly head, was Kai whispering to (Y/N). The way she blushed, the way Kai had looked at him while he whispered to her… Reigen did not like being out of the loop, he prided himself on being good at reading people, able to talk his way through basically any situation. But that interaction with Kai? That wasn’t something he couldn’t read, and it gnawed at him.
He needed to get it out of his head. Maybe he could get her to tell him what Kai said tonight, when his emotions weren’t running so high. Maybe if he got a little brave and turned up the charm, he could get a clearer picture of how (Y/N) felt about him. At least he had work to keep him mind off of it, for now.
As he entered the office, his eyes fell to the cake, still untouched. He snapped a picture before cutting himself a small piece. It was a sponge cake with yellow icing. Reigen wasn’t sure what he expected when he took his first bite, but it definitely wasn’t a subtle lemon flavor. It was good, really good actually. Reigen had never had anything quite like not, well… not like he usually went out of his way to buy cakes anyway. He fished his phone out of his pocket, making a contact for (Y/N), making the photo the little chibi she’d made of herself on the cake. He still had some time before his client was supposed to arrive, so he shot her a text.
9:37 Reigen: Hey, it’s me.
9:37 (Y/N): Sorry, I don’t know anyone named “me”. :P
He chuckled before replying.
9:38 Reigen: Aw c’mon, I know uve been waiting for me to text as soon as I left ;)
…
…
9:40 Reigen: Now idk if ur messing with me or not…. It’s Reigen
9:40 (Y/N): I was messing with you
Wanted to make you sweat a lil lol
Ur so needy lol
9:41 Reigen: Rude >:(
9:41 (Y/N): Cocky :P
9:42 Reigen: Maybe lol
Cake is great btw
Didn’t expect the lemon
9:42 (Y/N): Is it weird? Ur drinks were lemon, yea?
Tried somethin a lil different, hope it’s not weird
He smiled to himself, she’d paid attention to his drink order. Being behind a screen he felt just a little brave.
9:42 Reigen: Cute that u remembered
It’s perfect, just like everything u do ;)
Clients here, gtg. I’ll ttyl.
9:43 (Y/N): Have a good day! ^_^ glad you like the cake hehe
Reigen greeted the client with gusto when they entered. Just 7 hours till their dinner date. Was it a date? Dare or not, he’d be sure to show her a good time. 7 hours couldn’t pass fast enough.

Sweet As Pie - Part 5
Reigen’s feet carried him faster than normal this morning, desperate to reach the bakery. He’d spent the night tossing and turning, trying to dissect the bits of conversation he’d heard from Mob, and wondering if he somehow screwed up. As the bakery came into view he realized the lights were still off. There was a handwritten note taped to the door.
“We will be opening by 10AM today, sorry for the inconvenience!”
Reigen’s heart sank. A late opening? (Y/N) hadn’t opened late the entire time he’d be coming to see her. He would know, he usually got there before she actually opened when he was on his way to work and she’d let him in before opening to have first pick and try new batches. Would he be insane if he opened late and waited for her? Reigen checked his watch, 8:15AM. He was supposed to open at 9AM and already had a client scheduled for 9:45. Well damn.
Yeah, he decided, it would be weird if he opened late and waited here for her. Feeling dejected, he kept walking to the office. Might as well go in early since he was already out; if he went back home now it wouldn’t make sense. He arrived at the office less than 10 minutes later, lighting a cigarette, hoping it would help his anxious thoughts. Surprise surprise, it didn’t help at all.
Reigen sighed, looking up at the sky. He’d just stop by after work, no big deal, right? He heard footsteps rounding the corner of the building, then a surprised squeak as someone almost ran into him.
That someone being, “(Y/N)? What- what are you doing here?”
Her faced burned at Reigen’s bewilderment. “I- um- you-“ she looked down at her watch. “It’s 8:30, you’re not supposed to be here yet!”
Reigen shook his head, no less confused than before. “That… doesn’t answer my question.” His eyes moved down to a pastel blue box in her hands, the words ‘To Reigen Arataka’ written on it. His gaze moved back to her’s. “What’s this?”
Her face burned brighter and she looked away. “This- uh- Aaahhh man this is so awkward. It… was supposed to be a surprise… when I wasn’t here. I was gonna leave it at your office door.”
The man raised a brow, a hand on his hip. “Why couldn’t you just give it to me yourself, why leave it at my door and run?” He reached out for the box, opening it without hesitation. Reigen’s face broke into a smile at the contents of the box. A round cake, with yellow icing, that read, “Happy Late Birthday, Reigen!” A little chibi (Y/N) giving him a thumbs up was next to his name. He slowly raised his eyes from the cake back to (Y/N), his smile never faltering.
She awkwardly averted her gaze, squeezing her eyes shut tight. “S-stop staring at me and say something.”
Reigen laughed, grabbing her by the arm and pulling her up the stairs. “Come on, I’ve got forks in my office.” He set the box on the coffee table, gesturing for (Y/N) to sit on the couch. He returned a moment later with two forks and some plates.
The girl fidgeted in her seat, her cheeks still dusted pink. “I.. was bummed I’d missed your birthday and… and I wanted to make you a thank you for the other day. I thought this was a good uh- compromise for both.”
She looked so unbelievably cute, and Reigen was so incredibly flattered, he just had to tease her. “Did you try to recruit Mob to deliver for you?” She nodded, and he continued, “But he said he couldn’t, so you came here before opening, because you were too shy to give it to me yourself?”
She nodded again, her blush darkening. In a small voice she said, “I was embarrassed, thought you might think it was dumb.”
Reigen laughed, putting an arm around her shoulder in a side hug. “Think it was dumb? Absolutely not, you’re so sweet. This is the best late birthday present a guy could ask for. I’ll have to cry for 6 days now, to prove I wasn’t lying.” He started loudly fake sobbing, making honk shoo noises between fake sobs.
(Y/N) laughed, shoving him. “You’re so dumb, honk shoo is for fake sleeping, not crying!”
Reigen gasped, waving his hands around. “Fake?! I, Reigen Arataka, would never fake my cries! Those were 100%, real, genuine, sobs! You’re so heartless! You show up at my office, assault me, give me the most thoughtful gift, then bully me when I totally, not fake at all, cry. You’re giving some mixed signals here!”
Her laugher grew, causing Reigen to smile so hard his cheeks almost hurt. “You’re such a drama queen, I didn’t assault you. This would be assault.” She shoved him again, the smile never leaving her face.
Reigen gave her a light shove back. “How dare you assault me, in my own office no less!” Thank god she wasn’t mad at him. The conversation she had with Mob made a lot more sense now. The anxiety in the pit of his stomach nearly evaporated at the sight of her smile. Reigen sighed, a relieved smile on his face. “You know… I was worried I’d somehow upset you to be honest.”
(Y/N)’s brows furrowed. “Upset me how? I’m not upset with you at all.” Her gaze fell onto her hands, which were fidgeting in her lap. “I was worried I made a fool of myself the other night. Thought the cake might help me break the tension, but then I got all in my head about that too.” An alarm started going off on her phone, signaling she needed to start heading to the bakery.
Reigen glanced at his watch. It was already 9:15. He thought for a moment. “Hey, my first client doesn’t come in till 9:45. Can I walk you back?”
(Y/N) took a deep breath, trying to hide her smile. “I… I’d like that.”
Conversation flowed easily on their walk. Reigen found himself wishing the barley was further away so he could be with her longer. They made jokes and sarcastic quips, shoulders occasionally bumping as they walked. His gaze on her was soft as she laughed about some story she was telling him.
„Man” he thought to himself, „I should really ask her out again… would that be weird? Too soon? We did just go out a few days ago.” Reigen was pulled out of his thoughts by (Y/N)’s gasp as they neared the bakery.
There was a man standing outside, leaning against the wall, kicking a rock between his feet. (Y/N) called out to him. “Kai? Is that you?”
His eyes snapped away from the rock, up to her face. A friendly smile on his face as he approached her. His movements were slow, as if trying not to scare her off. “Well, aren’t you a sight for sore eyes? I’m not here to cause trouble, just wanted to check on you.” He opened his arms to her, his eyes soft. “Would it be too much to ask for a hug?”
She moved quickly, meeting him halfway, easily returning the embrace. Kai smiled wide, lifting her feet off the ground and spinning her around. “It’s been too long, (Y/N).” She laughed as he spun her, and Reigen found himself annoyed. Who the heck was this guy? Kai easily set her back down on the ground. Reigen couldn’t help but notice that Kai was taller than him, and effortlessly handsome. His brown curls slightly sweeping into his eyes as he looked down at (Y/N), a stupid smile on his stupidly handsome face.
(Y/N) smiled in a way that seemed different from how she looked at Reigen. Jealousy bubbled in his stomach. “It’s good to see you! You don’t live in Seasoning City now, do you?”
Kai laughed, awkwardly scratching the back of his head. “Nah, I’m over at Fruit Hills now, actually. Decided you had the right idea leaving home.”
(Y/N) looked shocked. “No way, that’s awesome! Wait… isn’t that like a 5 hour train ride from here? What brings you here?”
A smile stretched across Kai’s stupidly handsome face, he ruffled (Y/N)’s hair. “Yeah, I came to see you.” Okay, Reigen officially wanted to hit him. “I heard about what happened the other day and wanted to stop by to make sure you were okay. Sorry I couldn’t come yesterday, I had to work. I woulda called but I wasn’t sure if you still had the same number.” He handed her his phone, Reigen could see her contact was open, the photo seemed to be of (Y/N) many years ago, she seemed to still be in her teens.
The girl wrinkled her nose. “Ew, why do you have that photo?” She laughed, taking a quick selfie to change the contact photo. “There, that’s better. Yeah, my number is still the same. I appreciate you coming, but I’m okay.” Her eyes drifted to Reigen, her gaze softening. “I had a friend that took care of me after.”
Kai smiled to Reigen, extending a hand for him to shake. As much as Reigen didn’t want to, he did. Kai’s handshake was strong, confident. Reigen tried not to grumble to himself. Of course Kai had a good handshake, why wouldn’t he.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Kai. Thank you for being there (Y/N), I know she wouldn’t ask for help on her own.”
Reigen tried not to make a face, instead putting on his confidence persona. “Reigen Arataka. Don’t mention it, I’m always more than happy to be there for her. (Y/N) is a good friend, I’d move mountains for her if I could.”
Kai smirked as he let go of Reigen’s hand, an amused and smug look in his eye. “Is that so? Well, she’s lucky to have you.” Kai pulled (Y/N) into another hug. “Well, I’m glad you’re alright. Listen, Sora wanted to come too but he’s got work. I promised him I’d bring back some world famous pastries to make up for him missing the trip.” He gave (Y/N) and wink, and she flushed under the praise. Reigen wished the ground would swallow him whole. “Sora wants to see you, though. Think it would be cool if we planned another visit? I know I’ve got your number now, at least.”
(Y/N)’s eyes sparkled as she motioned to Kai and Reigen to follow as she unlocked the door. “I’d love that! It would be great to see him again. Pick whatever you want.”
Kai picked a few sweets, as (Y/N) was packing them up he whispered something in her ear, his eyes fixed on Reigen. Whatever Kai said caused her face to turn a deep shade of red, pulling a deep chuckle from Kai.
Kai ruffled her hair once more, gratefully taking the bag from her. “We’ll do our best to come back soon.” As he made his way to the door, he clapped a hand on Reigen’s shoulder. “I’m sure I’ll see you again.” A teasing smile pulled at his lips, his eye’s flicking from Reigen to (Y/N). “She’s lookin’ a little feverish there, might need your help with that.”
The girl looked like she was going to explode. “KAI! Shut the hell up!”
The man laughed loudly, throwing a wave over his shoulder as he left.

Sweet As Pie - Part 4
No matter how hard he tried, Reigen couldn’t stop his mind from wandering. He shouldn’t have so blatantly flirted with her, not after she had been drinking. What if she thought he was a creep? …. What if she… didn’t think he was a creep? Reigen roughly stood up from his desk, walking outside to take a smoke. Damn, he wanted to see her so badly, to know how she’d react upon seeing him after yesterday. He needed to pull himself together, stop looking like a lovesick fool before Mob and Dimple got there. His anxiety diminished slightly, with the addition of nicotine in his system. Smoking was more like meditating for Reigen, it gave him something to focus on that wasn’t his thoughts. He glanced at his watch, about an hour until he and Mob were supposed to meet up with their client. After putting out his cigarette, he shoved his hands in his pockets, beginning his walk to the meeting place. Maybe the walk would help him clear his head.
Spoiler alert, the walk absolutely did not help him clear his head. He kept looking in the direction of the bakery while he walked to the train station, as if willing (Y/N) to appear before him. He sighed. “I’m so screwed.” He muttered to himself. Reigen hadn’t felt this way about anyone in… a long time. He toyed with the idea of calling the bakery to say hi, but then realized… no dumbass it’s Tuesday, it’s closed, she’s not there. He was so irritated with himself he didn’t notice Mob and Dimple approach.
The spirit snickered. “Hey there Reigen, what’s got you so antsy?”
Reigen shot him a glare. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Come on, let’s just get this job done.”
After an easy exorcism, then swinging by another client’s apartment building to verify is there actually was a spirit, the three started making their way back to the office. Reigen felt better having something else to occupy his thoughts. It was easy to make conversation with Mob, just ask him about school and his friends, then he could focus on listening and giving advice instead of… whatever his feelings were towards a certain baker. All of a sudden, Mob’s phone rang.
The boy fished it out of his pocket, surprised to be getting a call. “Hello? Oh, hi Miss (Y/N).” Reigen stiffened, trying (not really trying) not to eavesdrop on the conversation. “Yes I am. Uhuh, I remember. … Oh um-“ he turned to Reigen. “Master, do you have the schedule for tomorrow, do you know when I’m needed?”
Was she asking about him? Reigen pulled his phone out to check his calendar, he’d been trying really hard to be organized so he didn’t have to call Mob on short notice. “Uhh, let me see…. We have jobs lined up for you at 3:30 and 4:15.”
Mob hummed, returning his attention to the phone call. “I won’t be able to make it, we have to meet a client at 3:30, so I won’t have enough time before hand. …. Uhuh…. Why don’t you do it? I can see what-“ Reigen could hear the speaker peak, indicating that she had gotten louder. “O-oh okay, I’m sorry. What if we came now?” Mob glanced toward Reigen, who quickly turned away. He wasn’t eavesdropping, no sir. “Oh, um… 9AM I think. Yes… okay. Of course, bye.”
Reigen coughed after Mob hung up, trying to appear nonchalant. “So uh, what was that about?”
Mob shook his head, speaking plainly. “I can’t tell you, sorry.”
Reigen could have exploded. “WHAT?! WHY NOT?!”
Dimple, who had not attempted to hide his eavesdropping, cackled loudly at Reigen’s dismay. “Sorry pal, she told him not to tell you.”
If steam could come out of Reigen’s ears, it would. What on earth would she be calling Mob for that she didn’t want him telling Reigen? Mob said he needed to do homework, so they parted for the day. Reigen was positive that Mob was just saying that because (Y/N) was forcing him to keep some secret and Mob would crack if Reigen pushed hard enough. He could swing by the bakery, see if she was there so he could ask her himself… but what if she didn’t want to see him? Anxiety clawed at his stomach. What if he really did screw up yesterday? He decided he’d swing by tomorrow, maybe apologize for being weird. Reigen’s insecurities gripped his heart like a vice as he headed home. Hopefully tomorrow he’d be able to quell them.

Sweet As Pie - Part 3
“It’s a chill spot. It’s basically the same people there every time I go. They’re good people, but they can be a little much sometimes.” Reigen glanced at her as he spoke, trying to keep the mood light. She clearly didn’t want to talk about whatever had happened with that guy at the bakery, so he wasn’t going to push it. He held the door for her, letting her walk in first. As he entered there was a chorus of “Reigen!” As some of the patrons came over to say hi.
“Long time no see, buddy!” The bartender called to him. “Same as usual?”
One of the female patrons had a growing smile, looking between Reigen and (Y/N). “So is this why you haven’t been around? Got yourself a girlfriend?”
Reigen felt a blush creep up his neck, frantically waving his hands around. “No no, I’ve just been busy with work, you know how it is. This is (Y/N), she’s a friend of mine.” The other patrons greeted her warmly, happy to meet a friend of Reigen’s.
(Y/N) cleared her throat awkwardly. “Hi, I um- I didn’t see a sign that said no outside food, I brought some pastries to share with you all.” Everyone’s faces lit up as they picked from the various sweets she had brought.
“These are amazing! Where did you get them from?” The women smiled brightly after a bite of a strawberry cupcake.
Reigen was the one who answered. “She works at a bakery, she’s incredibly talented.”
The bartender gave Reigen a knowing smile. “So you’re saying that sweeties are how you found your sweetie?” He wiggled his eyebrows, getting some laughs from the other patrons.
Reigen’s face burned brighter, unsure of how to answer. (Y/N) gave Reigen a playful poke in the stomach, her eyes full of mischief. “You know what they say, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”
The bartender barked out a laugh. “Okay, first round on the house of the happy couple!” He gave Reigen a wink as the two moved to a booth in the back corner, drinks in hand.
Reigen’s face burned, not able to ignore the fact she hadn’t denied the two of the being a couple. “W-wow, you were really pushing for a free drink, huh?”
(Y/N) laughed, her eyes much brighter than they had been back at the bakery. “Hey I don’t bring my own freebies for nothin’. I came baring gifts so why not push for a little gift in return?” Her smile grew wider as Reigen laughed.
“Ooh you’re bad, I can’t believe you would misuse the power of your pastries for that.” Reigen wiggled his eyebrows, smile hidden by his glass. “Maybe I should be teaching you not to use your powers for evil instead of Mob.”
She snickered. “Oh please, you just want to hear me call you ‘Master Reigen’, don’t you?” Reigen choked on his lemon sour, pulling a full belly laugh from (Y/N).
“You- you’re awful!” He coughed, using his napkin to hide his blush.
“Sorry sorry, that was a little mean.” She wiped a tear from her eye from laughing so hard.
Reigen scoffed. “‘A little’? It- it’s not like I ask him to call me that, you know. He just does, and I told him he didn’t have to but it makes him happy so.” He shrugged, then realized she was staring at him when he looked up at her. “W-what?”
She smiled softly. “You’re good to him, Mob I mean… Thank you. He’s a really good kid, he has a pure soul, always has.”
Reigen waved her off, averting his gaze for a moment. “Ah it’s nothing. If anything I’m more grateful to him, that kid basically changed my life.” He glanced back at her, asking a question he already kind of knew the answer to. “How do you know him anyway?”
(Y/N) thought for a moment as she took another swig of her drink. “Well, he and his family are longtime customers. I’ve know him since he was a little boy, he was 6 when I met him.”
Reigen laughed. “Good memory, I barely know how old I am most days.”
She smiled at the memory. “Well… I really only remember because I decorated his 7th birthday cake. It was the first commission I got at the bakery, actually. He told his parents he really wanted me to do it, so they requested me personally.”
Reigen’s eyes softened. “That’s so like him, I bet it was the perfect cake.”
(Y/N) barked a laugh, her vision getting misty. “It was awful. I was running out of room writing ‘birthday’ so the D A and Y were all smushed together. I was much better at the art aspect, so I made a little chibi Mob on the cake to try to make up for the terrible lettering. He smiled so wide and gave me the biggest hug when he saw it.” She wiped her eyes. “Aw man, sorry I get a little emotional when I drink ahaha. I love that kid, Ritsu too. The whole Kageyama family has been good to me and my Grandma.”
A smile played on Reigen’s lips. “Sometimes it’s the things that seem insignificant to others that end up being so important to us, huh? I guarantee, he didn’t care about the lettering, all he cares about is that it was made by you.”
(Y/N) shoved his shoulder. “Stop it, it’s like you’re trying to make me cry!”
He laughed, please with the bashful smile on her face. “I mean it! If you made me a cake I’d probably cry for like, 3 whole days.”
She laughed, shoving his shoulder again. “Oh stop it, you’re such a drama queen. … When is your birthday, anyway?”
Reigen narrowed his eyes, knowing exactly where she was going with this. “That’s private information, what are you gonna want next? My credit card number?”
Mischief played in her eyes. “Reigen…. I already have your credit card number, you always pay with card at the bakery. …. So birthday? Gotta put it in the system for your free birthday treat at the bakery, now that you’re a regular and all.”
He chuckled, shaking his head. “Touché… you’re not gonna let this go are you?” She shook her head, he sighed. “… October 10th. When is yours?”
She put a finger on her chin, pretending to consider. “I don’t know, Reigen. That’s private information, and you don’t even have my credit card number!” She giggled behind her glass, then told him her birthday. “Aw man, I missed your birthday. I’ll remember next year.” She pulled out her phone, adding it to her calendar. “There we go, now I can’t forget!”
He flushed, adding her birthday into his own calendar. The bartender made last call, so she went to grab them each another round of drinks, a pleased expression on her face. Reigen found himself smiling as she walked up to the bar, a few patrons telling her how great the sweets were and that they’d be sure to drop by. While she waited for the drinks they went up to Reigen.
“That girl’s a keeper Reigen, don’t mess it up.” The male winked at him, clapping him on the shoulder and bidding him goodnight. (Y/N) returned with the drinks after waving goodbye to the other patrons.
“I like it here, you’re right, they are good people. … Maybe we can come again sometime?” She stared into her drink, fidgeting slightly.
Reigen smiled wide. “I’d like that a lot.”
The two made comfortable conversation while they finished their drinks. Reigen insisted on paying the tab, saying he owed her for all the free sweets. The bartender gave Reigen a knowing smile as the two left the bar.
(Y/N) tripped over her feet, giggling as Reigen steadied her. “Woah there, be careful.” He chuckled, glad he had been able to ask the bartender not to give him any alcohol so he could make sure she got home safe…. And didn’t make himself look stupid if he’d drank. He held his arm out for her to loop her’s through so that he could make sure she didn’t fall.
She giggled again, snuggling into his arm a bit closer than necessary. “Such a gentleman. You sure you aren’t just trying to butter me up for more sweet treats.”
Reigen smirked. “You say that like I don’t already have the sweetest treat from the bakery on my arm.” She gasped, Reigen bit his cheek, realizing he had spoken without thinking. “Ahh sorry I maybe shouldn’t have said that.”
“Reigen…” she began, making him stiffen. “Did you just call me a snack?” A shocked, strangled noise escaped his throat and she burst out laughing. “I’m messing with you!” The flush was evident on her face, Reigen wasn’t sure if it was from his comment or the alcohol. “But man, Reigen… that was one hell of a line. Do you use that on every baker or am I just special?”
Were his hands always this sweaty? Did his heart always beat this fast? Oh god, she was going to be the death of him. He willed his voice to remain steady. “Maybe I’m using my power for evil and I’m trying to make sure you keep giving me freebies.”
She chuckled as they arrived at her apartment building. “Yeah, right. … Well this is me.” She reluctantly removed her arm from his.
He bit back a sigh, missing the contact already. “Well… goodnight. I’ll see you around.”
(Y/N) called out to him before he could take a step away. “Reigen?” She pulled him into a hug, her head falling to his shoulder when he hesitantly returned the embrace. Reigen willed his hands to stop sweating as she pulled back. “Thank you for tonight, I needed this. Don’t be a stranger yeah?” She moved up the steps to her door, giving him a smile, the look in her eyes hard to read. “Get home safe.”
He gave her a wave, watching her lock the door, standing stupidly halfway down the steps. His body tingled where her arms had been around him. He chuckled, running a hand through his hair.
‘She’s a keeper, Reigen. Don’t mess it up.’
Yeah she is… God was he going to try not to screw this up.

It was a pretty slow day at the office, Reigen, Serizawa, and Mob had their last client about an hour ago. With Serizawa having joined the team, business had been picking up more, so it was a night break. Mob and Serizawa were working on their respective school work as Reigen was catching up on some emails.
Suddenly, Reigen’s phone pinged with a message.
3:27 (Y/N): Are you busy?
Reigen smiled at the message, knowing you should be at work right now too.
3:28 Reigen: Finishing up emails, sup?

Reigen laughed before he could stop himself, earning some confused looked from Serizawa and Mob. He shook his head, looking up from his phone. “(Y/N) is trying to get me to play games with them.”
Serizawa raised an eyebrow. “Aren’t they usually at work by now?”
Reigen snorted. “Yeah, they are.”
3:33 Reigen: ‘Your Turn!’
You’re so bad lol, go back to work
Serizawa is judging you btw
A moment later, Serizawa’s phone buzzed. He read the message then looked up to Reigen. “What did you say to them? They just said if I don’t play Cup Pong with them then I’m a fake friend.”
Reigen barked a laugh. “I told them that you were judging. If I have to entertain them, then so do you.”
3:37 (Y/N): you’re such a shit talker, Reigen

Sweet As Pie - Part 2
Reigen found himself fidgeting outside the bakery. Would she think it was weird he came back the next day? No, he’s getting in his own head. She’s running a business after all, she’s hopeful for repeat customers. Where’s your confidence, get in there!
The familiar chime of the bell signaled a customer entering the bakery. “Welcome in!” (Y/N)’s gaze moved from her book to the newcomer. A smile took over her face when she saw who it was. “Well well well, look who it is! Maybe my pastries are legendary after all.”
Reigen laughed, trying to ignore how sweaty his hands are. “Of course, I couldn’t stay away when you snuck in a free sample.”
She laughed, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “Ah so you’ve fallen into my trap, have you?”
Reigen felt a smile tug at his lips, “How do you know you didn’t fall into mine? Butter you up with praise, buy something else, and get myself a freebie?”
She placed a hand on her chest in mock offense, “And here I thought I was special! How dare you, Reigen.” A smile cracked through her façade. “Maybe if you keep spending your money I’ll keep throwing in freebies.”
His smile only grew. “Well then, what do you recommend?” He ended up leaving the shop and heading to the office with a pastry filled with bacon, egg, and cheese. This time she threw in a freebie of a few sugar cookies instead of chocolate chip like the day prior.
——
Reigen was in a very chipper mood when Mob and Dimple arrived at the office.
“Heya Mob, ready to get some work done on this fine day?”
Dimple eyed the man cautiously, floating around him in a circle. “What’s got you all smiley? Did you steal some kid’s trust fund or something?”
Reigen swatted him away. “What?! No! Can it Dimple.”
Mob cut off their argument before it could really begin. “Isn’t that a bag from Miss (Y/N)’s bakery?” All eyes fell on the bag with her shop’s logo on it.
“Oh yeah,” Reigen passed the bag to Mob. “I’d almost forgotten, I saved this for you.”
Mob took a sugar cookies from the bag, with a quiet thank you. “Master, did you go there again today? She’s a really talented baker and she’s really nice, right?” The boy’s eyes practically sparkled. She had always been so kind to him and his family, he was happy to see Reigen getting along with her. They were both important people to the boy.
Reigen smiled, gazing out the window. “Yeah I stopped there this morning. You’re right, she is good.” His eyes flicked back to Mob. “How did you meet her, anyway? Seems like she knows you pretty well, you clearly like her an awful lot too.”
Mob blushed, averting his gaze. “Um, my parents used to go there, they knew her grandmother. When I was little, Ritsu and I were going there after school, Miss (Y/N) was working and drove off some bullies that tried to take our money.”
Reigen sighed. “Kids sure are brutal, at least she was there to help. So she doesn’t run the shop herself?”
Mob shrugged his shoulders. “She kind of does now, but her grandmother used to be there every day. In the past few years, Miss (Y/N) has been taking care of it more than her grandmother.”
If her grandmother owned the bakery but wasn’t around much anymore… Maybe he was just be pessimistic, maybe she was just retired. Reigen frowned but didn’t voice his thoughts to Mob, changing the subject back to their clients for the day.
——
Reigen had been going to the bakery nearly every day for the past two weeks. He and (Y/N) continued to share silly banter, sometimes she would even give him “free samples” without him buying anything. He became a taste tester of sorts when she would try new recipes. The relationship began to stray from baker and customer to something closer to friends. Even on long days at the office where all he wanted to do was crawl in bed, he’d sometimes find himself stopping by the bakery first, to help (Y/N) close up shop. Today was one of those days.
The familiar chime of the bell greeted Reigen as he entered the shop, music to his ears after a rough day. Mob had been really busy with school so Reigen had to fly solo all day, taking jobs he could do on his own and unfortunately pushing others back until Mob was free.
There was already someone else standing at the counter when Reigen entered the building, seemingly arguing with (Y/N).
When the bell chimed, both the man and (Y/N) looked towards Reigen. The man cursed under his breath. “Give me a call when you want to be reasonable about this. I’ll give you some time to come to your senses.” The man stormed out of the shop, the chime of the bell feeling less friendly than it had before. Reigen glanced at his watch, 6:53, only 7 minutes before close. He locked the door and flipped the sign on the door. If anyone wanted to come in less than 10 minutes before she closed they could stuff it.
“Are you okay? What the heck was that about?” He approached the counter cautiously. She kept her eyes glued to the ground, fighting back the wave of emotion threatening to overtake her. Reigen hesitantly placed a hand on her shoulder, speaking softly. “Hey… how about I help you close up and then I can walk you home?”
She took a shaky breath, finally making eye contact. “I…. Do you think we could go out and do something? I don’t really wanna go home.” She averted her gaze again. “It’s- it’s fine you don’t have to-“
Reigen cut her off, putting his other hand on her shoulder, giving her a little shake. “Hey. That sounds great, I think we’ve both had a long day. You hungry?”
She sighed, looking back up at him. “Honestly? I could use a drink.”
Reigen smiled. “I know just the place.”

Sweet As Pie
(Y/N) looked up from her book as the bell to the bakery chimed. “Welcome in, let me know if you- oh hey Mob!” She smiled at the sight of the boy, who stood next to an older gentleman.
Mob gave her a wave as he approached the counter. “Hello, Miss (Y/N). How have you been?”
She dramatically leaned back in her chair, with a hand over her heart. “Oh just heartbroken, my favorite customer left me for dead!” She dropped the charade, ruffling the boy’s hair before he could believe her act. “Kidding kidding, I’ve been okay. Who’s your friend?” Her gaze moved to the man in the suit beside Mob, who had been on the phone until a moment ago.
“This is Master Reigen, I work for him part-time. Master, this is (Y/N), she’s a really good baker! Ritsu and I have been coming to her shop for years.” She gave the man a smile, shaking his hand.
Reigen’s eyes lit up in recognition. “Ah, are you the one who made him cookies after his race?”
The women laughed, “Guilty as charged! I guess you ended up with some? I might have gone a little overboard when I heard how hard he’d been working.”
Reigen found himself paying more attention to the pastries in the case, with this new information. “He brought them to the office. Let me tell you, those cookies were life changing!”
(Y/N) smiled despite herself, flushing under his praise. “Aha I don’t know about all that, but I’m glad you liked them. What brings you two in, looking for anything in particular?”
Mob pointed to a tres-leches cake, “Master told me I did a good job and could pick a treat. We were passing by and I remembered this cake you make.”
She took the cake from the case. “Anything catching your eye, or do you need a recommendation?”
Reigen pondered the question, realizing he was kind of out of his element when it came to picking sweets. His stomach growled, much louder than he would have liked.
(Y/N) stifled a laugh. “Sounds like you’re more hungry than in the mood for sweets. You like beef, chicken, or pork?”
Reigen flushed at her observation, scratching the back of his head. “I guess beef?”
She smiled as she rung them up, packing up Mob’s cake, a few bao buns, and slipping in a few cookies as an extra gift. “Here you go! You guys have a good night.”
After making sure Mob got home, Reigen devoured the buns, realizing this was some of the best meat he’d had in his life. After tossing the wrapping for the buns he noticed the cookies hidden in the bottom of the bag. He smiled, pulling off the sticky note that read, “Hope the buns were just as life changing ;] Come back soon!”
The cookies were every bit as good as he remembered. Reigen stuck the note onto his fridge, knowing he most definitely would be back.

Wattpad repost, written many years ago.
Akechi x Reader
Not Alone
Lately every person you came into contact with was talking about one of two things. How much they liked the mysterious Phantom Thieves, or how much they disliked Akechi. Today was a day where the people around you were talking about Akechi. A frustrated sigh escaped you as you listened to the others on the subway. Your day was already bad to begin with, and now you had to quietly sit by while some business man went on about how stupid Akechi was. Luckily, you weren't alone. You lived pretty close to Akira, so you two made the trip to and from school together. It wasn't often that Akira joined you on the way back from school, but today was one of those rare days. The boy could sense you anger, and gave your shoulder a gentle squeeze.
"I know. It bothers me too." You only sighed at his words.
"Any idea where I could find him? I haven't seen him around, and I want to check on him. I'm sure people still talk about him while he's there, if not to him." After a moment, Akira nodded.
"He's been hanging around the cafe. I can't guarantee he'll be there, but I'm sure Sojiro wouldn't mind if you hung out to see if he shows up." The doors opened, and the two of you quickly made your way out of the crowd.
"You're working today, right? Sojiro wouldn't mind if I was there by myself?" A small smile crossed Akira's face as he answered.
"No, if anything he'd be happy to have someone around that he liked. He actually enjoys your company. You might even get a free coffee out of him if you ask." You laughed as the two of you began to split up.
"Not sure if I should push my luck, but I'll head over. Thanks, Akira." The boy gave you a nod before running off to whatever job he was working today. You hopped on the next line, trying your best to ignore the people around you. As soon as the doors opened you were basically sprinting out of them, more than ready to be in the quiet of the cafe. At the sound of the bell, Sojiro looked up from his paper. He gave you a teasing smirk and said,
"We're not hiring, you know." You laughed, taking a seat at the counter in front of him.
"What, am I not allowed to come say hi?" You mock pouted. "You're so cruel to me, Sojiro. The least you can do is get me some coffee." The man smiled, readying a cup for you.
"Last I checked this isn't a charity. But really, what brings you here?" Another sigh escaped you as he handed you the cup.
"Honestly? I was hoping Akechi would be here. I can see he's not." The older man nodded.
"Yeah, he doesn't come in every day, but you've got about ten minutes till his usual time." You groaned, resting your head on the counter.
"Guess I shouldn't have rushed over here so fast. Is it okay if I stay?" Sojiro smiled and gave your head a gentle pat, pretending to consider your question.
"I don't know. You come in, mooch coffee from me, and now you want to stay, too? I have people fighting to get in here, you know. Always busy." You gave him an exasperate look, and he chuckled.
"Of course you can stay, just don't sleep on my counter." You offered him a grateful smile, sipping your coffee.
"So, what has you looking for him? Akechi I mean. I didn't know you were close to him."
"I mean, we're not really all the close. We do talk sometimes, but we're not close friends. And I'm looking for him because.... I'm worried about him. Almost daily I have to hear people bash him. Stupid people who don't even know him. It makes me so mad, and I just.... I can't even imagine how he feels. I haven't seen him since all the crap about him started. I just wanna make sure he's okay. Make sure these people aren't in his head. I want him to know that someone cares." Sojiro smiled, chuckling to himself.
"What?"
"Mm. Nothing, nothing. It's just amazing that no one has scooped you up yet." You cocked your head,
"What do you-" The bell on the door jangled, your head snapping to the sound. It was him. It was Akechi. He looked... bad. He had bags under his eyes, and the light that had been in them seemed to be gone. He wasn't walking the same as he use to. There use to be this air of confidence in the way he walked, with his head held high. But now... he hung his head down, hiding his eyes with his bangs. Looking at Akechi this way made your heart ache. He looked like he needed a hug. The perceptive boy seemed too busy avoiding the eyes of the other customers in the cafe to have noticed you.
"The usual, please." He said, not even really looking up at Sojiro. The man waited though, wanting to see your next move. You cleared you throat, speaking gently.
"Hey, Akechi." The boy jumped, making eye contact with you. Almost immediately, a fake smile colored his face, making your heart sink.
————
"Ah, (Y/n). It has been a long time since I last saw you." You glanced at Sojiro, who gave a nod to the stairs. Privacy. Good thinking. You hopped out of your chair, taking Akechi's hand and all but dragging him to the stairs.
"You're being stolen." Confusion was clear on his face as you dragged him up the stairs.
"W-what? Why?"
"Because," you replied as you entered the room, "I want to talk to you, and I don't want you editing yourself for those in earshot." You spun to face the baffled boy.
"This is something you need, so I don't want to hear any objections, okay?" Before he could answer, you pulled him into a hug; the most warm and genuine hug Akechi had ever received. He was shocked at first, not to mention embarrassed. After a few moments, he returned the hug, tightly wrapping his arms around you, almost lifting you off the ground in the process. He rested his chin on your head, a quiet laugh escaping him.
"I'm not entirely sure what this hug is for, but I am grateful for it." A sad smile pulled on you lips as you gave him a squeeze before letting him go.
"You seemed like you needed a hug. ... I know that things kinda suck right now. I was worried about you." An airy laugh escaped the boy.
"'Things kinda sucking' is a bit of an understatement. The media is ruthless, but it's nothing I can't handle. I was well aware of the fact that my words could come back to bite me." As convincing as he might sound, you could see in his eyes that he was bothered. Who wouldn't be? He was still just a high school kid. Most students had to worry about other kids making fun of them, not everyone they come in contact with belittling them for having a different view point on the friggen Phantom Thieves.
"(Y/n), may I ask you something?" You cocked your head slightly.
"Of course."
"Do you think it was foolish of me to so bluntly oppose the Phantom Thieves? Do you share the same opinion with the majority?" You sighed, somewhat frustrated.
"No, I don't think it was stupid for you to go against them. Everyone has a critic, right? It doesn't matter if what they're doing is good or not. Someone has to disagree with them, that's just how the world works. Without conflicting opinions, nothing in the world would change. As for my standpoint... I don't know. I mean, because of them there's horrible people that have confessed their crimes; people that probably wouldn't have gotten caught otherwise. What I don't agree with is how people are treating you because of them, and I'm sure the Phantom Thieves would agree with me." A small smile pulled at Akechi's lips.
"An answer well said. ... I only wish more people felt the same as you do." The brunette sighed, taking a seat on the couch. You slowly kneeled next to him, gently resting a hand on his knee.
"You haven't done anything wrong, you know that, right?" A pang of guilt ran through Akechi at your words.
He had done things that were wrong, and this was one of them. His façade cracked, tears welling in his eyes. All at once he realized just how much you cared, and that made the guilt so much worse. You looked panicked, unsure of why he had finally given into his emotions, completely unaware of his thoughts. In a flash your arms were around him, gently petting his hair. The boy grabbed onto you in return, as if you were his only anchor to the earth. The fabric of your shirt balled in his fists, and you felt his tears land on your neck.
"I- I'm sorry I don't know why I'm... why I'm crying. I'm- I must look so pathetic." You shook your head, arms holding him tighter.
"No. You could never look pathetic in my eyes. You've been holding in your feelings for so long, it's okay to let them out. I'm here, I'm not going anywhere." For some time you stayed in the same position, holding him, letting the emotions run their course. After a while the tears stopped, and you both just sat quietly, in each other's arms. Akechi moved back to look at you as he broke the long silence.
"You really are magnificent, you know. You're quite possibly the kindest soul I've ever come across." You flushed at the unexpected complement.
"O-oh I wouldn't go that far..." Akechi laughed, gently cupping your cheek.
"I would. ... I don't know how to even begin to thank you." You leaned into his hand, a blush still faint on your cheeks.
"There's nothing to thank me for. I'm happy I could be here for you." He hummed lightly, as his thumb softly rubbed your cheekbone.
"Let me do something, at least to make myself feel better about all this." You thought for a moment, then an idea suddenly popped into your head.
"Pancakes." Akechi's hand stilled, his brow raised.
"Pancakes?" He repeat, earnings a bright nod from you. Springing to your feet, you took his hands in your, pulling him up with you.
"If you insist on doing something, then let's go out for pancakes." The boy chuckled, a genuine smile blooming across his face.
"Pancakes it is, then." An adorable giggle escaped you as you pulled the young detective down the stairs with you. Walking towards the door, you waved to Sojiro, offering him a bright smile and bidding him goodnight. The older man smiled as he watched the two of you leave.
Perhaps he had spoken too soon. It seemed like someone had finally scooped you up.

Ryuji x Reader
Tutoring
"This is so effin' stupid." Ryuji grumbled as he made his way to Akira and Ann's classroom after the day had ended. He burst open the door and stormed up to his friends.
"This is complete bullshit!" The duo's attention snapped to Ryuji.
"What's wrong?" Akira cocked his head slightly.
"Ugh! I'm being forced to get a tutor because my grades are too low! The sucks!" Ryuji plopped down on a desk, wallowing in self pity. Ann snorted in response,
"I had no idea your grades were THAT bad. Maybe it'll be good for you." Ryuji scrunched up his face.
"Hell no! This is just effing stupid." Akira sighed at his friend.
"When and where are you supposed to go?" Ryuji cursed.
"Uh now. In the library. There's no way I'm doin' that shit." Akira raised a brow.
"Really? What do you think Makoto will do when she finds out?" Ann laughed.
"Oooh man. When she finds out just how bad your grades are, and that you ditched tutoring, she's gonna be sooo mad." Ryuji sighed and stood up.
"Screw you guys. Fine, I'm goin'." The blonde boy walked to the library, grumbling the whole way. When he opened the door there were only a few people there. Crap, how was he supposed to know who his tutor was? There was no way in hell he'd ask. Awkwardly scratching the back of his head, Ryuji glanced around the room. Who here looked smart? A cute girl was walking to the door, bringing Ryuji back to reality.
"Oh, uh, sorry." He said, getting out of her way, thinking she was trying to leave.
"Oh no, you're okay. I came over to talk to you, actually. You're Ryuji Sakamoto, yeah?" Once again scratching the back of his head, Ryuji nodded.
"Okay cool! I'm pretty sure you came here looking for me." The girl smiled at him, and his jaw dropped.
"No way, you?! You're-" the girl gently took hold of his arm, leading him away from the people who had started staring.
"Yep, me." She lowered her voice, whispering to him. "I'm guessing that you don't want the whole school knowing that you're being tutored. I was told that you were really against it." Ryuji blushed awkwardly. Great, so this cute girl knew he was stupid, and probably already hated him. She led him to the stairs, taking him to the roof.
"Uh, you know the roof door is locked right? It's off limits or somethin'."
You nod, taking out the key.
"Oh I know, but I got permission to come up here to tutor you."
Ryuji's eyes widened.
"But why would you do that?" You only shrugged.
"Well I knew you weren't really on board with the idea of tutoring, so I... I figured you might do it if you were somewhere people from school wouldn't be able to see you. I'm sorry... I didn't mean to make you feel awkward I just thought-" Ryuji cut off your rambling.
"I'm just a stupid no good guy. Why would you go through all this trouble when you're already gonna have to tutor me?" You offered an understanding smile.
"Because I know who you are. I know about how you got a bad rap just because of your temper. And I want you to prove to yourself that you're a good, capable, person. You're not stupid, you've just never had the right person to teach you." Ryuji felt his face heat up. Who the heck is this girl? People usually don't spare him so much as a glance, but now this girl he'd never met before made him feel... validated? He sighed quietly.
"I guess I'll give this a shot. Only cuz you went to all this trouble."
The tutoring session went well, and so did the next, and the one after that, and so forth. Ryuji actually started somewhat enjoying the tutoring, and you two became good friends. He felt like he did pretty well on midterms and was really excited to tell you. You two had already scheduled to meet like normal, just to talk about how Ryuji did on the exams. He opened the door to the roof and you were already sitting there waiting. The blonde ran up to you like an excited puppy.
"(Y/n)! I think I did okay, I kinda felt like I knew what I was doing!" He brought you into a tight hug, picked you up and spun you around.
You giggled as he spun around. Setting you back on your feet he grabbed you shoulders and shook you.
"I'm so happy I could- I could just kiss you!" Pink dusted both of your faces as his words hit you, and he realized what he said.
"O-oh I mean um... I didn't mean to say that haha... I'm just really excited and-" You shushed and with a laugh.
"I'll make you a deal. Let me start this out by saying that I'm confident in how you did. When the grades are posted, if you marked in the average category, you can kiss me. I mean, um, unless you were joking when you said that, then we can just-" Ryuji interrupts you, a wide smile and blush ever present on his face.
"Deal. And if I got in average I'm gonna take you on a date. If you're cool with that." The two of you shook hands smiling.
"Deal."
————
After you two had parted ways Ryuji excitedly texted his friends
3:15 Ryuji: so you guys know my tutor
3:15 Ann: Yeah, the girl you've got a crush on? (Y/n) right?
3:16 Ryuji: SHUT UP ABOUT THE CRUSH THING. and yeah her
3:16 Akira: What about her?
3:16 Ryuji: Well.... we kinda made a deal. If I get into average grading for midterms then I get to take her on a date... and kiss her
3:17 Ann: AWWWW RYUJI'S GOT A GIRLFRIEND! THATS SO CUTE!
3:17 Makoto: While I'm happy for you, I hope you do well in general. Are you confident in your grade?
3:18 Ryuji: Yeah I am! It felt like I got it. I'm use to havin no clue what I'm doing.
3:18 Akira: Morgana says that's he's seen (Y/n) and that you have no chance
3:18 Ryuji: WELL HE CAN STAY OUTTA THIS. HES A FRIGGIN' CAT.
3:19 Akira: Good luck man
Ryuji stuffed his phone into his pocket with a huff. Mona could stuff it. Stupid cat. He was sure he did well... At least he hoped he did. Even without the extra motivation he had just been given, he wanted to make you proud. You were pretty hard on yourself when you couldn't get him to understand, and he knew you'd blame yourself if he didn't rank average. All he could do now was wait for the grades to be posted, and wait he did.
After going through every possible scenario in his head, it was finally time for grades to be posted. Before he even got through the crowd to see his rank, Ryuji got a text.
6:55 (Y/n): Are you at the school yet?
6:55 Ryuji: yeah, I was heading to check my grade
6:56 (Y/n): Okay, check it then meet me on the roof. And don't even try to get into your head and psych yourself out before you see it.
6:56 Ryuji: Sure thing
Stuffing his phone back into his pocket, Ryuji pushed his way to the board. Finally he found his name, a wide grin spreading over his face. He was three away from being right in the middle of all the average ranking kids. He'd made it, and you'd already seen his grade. Akira was suddenly next to him, a gentle smile on his face.
"Looks like you did it. Go get her, man." Ryuji spun to face his friend, bouncing excitedly.
"Hell yeah, man! I did it! I gotta go, she's waiting for me!" The blonde took off, running up the stairs to the roof. Swigging the door open, his gaze met yours. Ryuji took a second to try and compose himself.
"Hey." He greeted, trying to sound like he hadn't just booked it up here. You laughed standing to meet him.
"Hey yourself." Now that you were in front of each other, silence fell.
After staring at him for a few moments, you cleared your throat.
"If I remember correctly, we made a deal." Ryuji nodded, color coating his cheeks.
"Y-yeah we did. Just so you know, I haven't really done this before. I'm kinda an idiot, but you know that." You placed a hand on his cheek, giggling slightly.
"How many times do I have to tell you? You're not an idiot." You laced you hands behind his neck, pulling him closer. You could feel his heart pounding against your chest. Taking a deep breath, Ryuji cupped your cheek.
"I'm just gonna do it." Without giving you a chance to respond, Ryuji crashed his lips into yours.
Your lips moved in sync after the somewhat sloppy start. He hugged you close as the kiss progressed. Your hands found themselves toying with the ends of his hair. Finally the need for air came, and you two parted, heads spinning. You smiled at each other as you caught your breathe.
"Okay so, what do I get if I rank above average?" You laughed at his question, hiding your blushing face in his chest.
"I take it back. You are an idiot."

Little bit of spice and everything nice.
Yusuke x Reader
Take A Deep Breath - Part 2
You woke up the next morning and stretched, checking your clock. 9:50, okay, you can work with that. You got up, threw on some shorts and a tank top, and headed out of your room. The spare room door was still closed, so you quietly knocked, incase Yusuke was still sleeping. A grunt was heard on the other side of the door, along with some shuffling. A shirtless Yusuke opened the door, yawning.
"Oh, good morning. ... I'm sorry I didn't ask, but I found some clothes in here so I borrowed a pair of pants. I hope that's okay. A-after you walked away I didn't want to disturb you..." You giggled, slightly yawning yourself.
"Mm, good morning to you too. Oh yeah, that's totally okay. I should have told you to use whatever ahaha. I didn't wake you, did I?"
The bluenette shook his head.
"Okay good. Um, do you wanna get dressed?" Yusuke took a brief glance back into the room, then back to you.
"I would feel more comfortable if you told me is okay to wear. ... I've never really stay at someone else's house without clothes before." You blinked, then nodded. Getting the opportunity to dress Yusuke? You weren't going to pass it up. He took a seat on the bed, which was already made, and watched you look through the drawers. This room had accumulated clothes from various guests over the years, so you were sure you'd find something to fit Yusuke. Worst case scenario he would just stay in the sweat pants he was currently wearing. For some odd reason, casual wear made him even more attractive than he usually was. ... Wait did you just think of Yusuke as attractive? You froze for a moment, shocked by your own thoughts. Sure, you had always thought Yusuke was cute, you'd had a crush on him for a while, but didn't want to ruin your friendship, as you didn't think he would feel the same. You also knew that he was better looking than most but... The word 'attractive' had never crossed your mind. Not until he was sitting shirtless behind you. Heat rose to you face as you mentally slapped yourself. Yusuke cocked his head as he watched your inner battle.
"Is something wrong? Your face is red..." You jumped at the sound of his voice.
"N-no! Nothing's wrong, I, um, I'm fine."
He chuckled quietly behind.
"Has anyone ever told you how utterly adorable you are?" Your blush grew and you whipped around to face him.
"I-I, um, what?! Um, no. N-no one has said that before." Yusuke rose an eyebrow.
"I find that very hard to believe. You look very cute when you're flustered, you know." You covered you face with your hands. You could just FEEL the smirk in his voice. Suddenly he was in front of you, gently moving your hands away from your face, interlocking your fingers.
"May I say something bold?" You gulped, but nodded.
"S-sure..."
Yusuke cupped your cheek with one of his hands, his thumb gently caressing your face.
"I've found you to be cute for a long time. When you first spoke with everyone I thought you were absolutely stunning. The more I got to know you, the stronger my feelings became. Both Akira and Ryuji have been telling me I should try to ask you out. ... I've always gotten too nervous. I know that I'm strange, that I'm different from everyone else. For this reason I never imagined you would reciprocate my feelings. You're beautiful, and kind. You make everyone laugh and it seems that you always know what to say. I did not think I had a chance with you. But, after being with you alone, I believe I might have been incorrect. Am I wrong to think that you don't feel the same?" You giggled, bringing your arms around his neck, looking up at him.
"You really have no idea how attractive you are, do you, Yusuke?" Pink dusted his cheeks at your choice of words.
"A-attractive? Me?" You nodded, slowly drawing yourself closer to him.
"Yes. Everything about you. Your face, your voice, your skill. You're so invested in everything you do. I've never felt like someone cared about me as much as you do. I've always wanted to hang out alone with you. Just to be with you, and talk to you, with no one to interrupt our conversation." You eyes slowly started to close. "I won't lie, Yusuke. I've also thought about kissing you." A hot breath escaped Yusuke. His hands gripped your hips, pulling you flush against him.
"It's foolish to waste time thinking about it, when you can do it right now." In the next instant, he captured your lips with his. Your hands found their way into his hair, and his moved down to your thighs, lifting you. Your legs wrapped around his hips as he walked your back against a wall. You never thought Yusuke could become this dominant. You pictured kissing him as being cute, not as hot and passionate as it was right now. You two parted for air and his mouth found your neck, trailing to every bit of exposed skin he could find. You were so grateful that you decided to wear a tank top. You were panting and gasping, lost in the feeling of his mouth on your skin. He found a sensitive area of skin and you moaned.
"At the sound of your voice he froze. He separated his mouth from your skin and looked shocked and embarrassed.
"O-oh my. I'm so sorry I have no idea what came over me." He started to put you down and you vigorously shook your head, tightening your legs around his hips. Your face was equally as flushed as his.
"Y-you... you didn't d-do anything wrong. Oh god, that was amazing. I-I didn't mean to make you stop." You leaned forward to kiss him. This one was much less heated than the first. Yusuke seemed a bit unsure now. Before he had been blinded by the need to have you, the excitement to being able to explore you. Now he was worried he had gone too far. You pulled him closer to you, your chest now completely against his. You were trying to show him that it was okay. He returned the kiss, and his hand absentmindedly traced up and down your side, the light touch tickling you. Yusuke felt you squirm each time his hand made its way back down your side. He smirked, digging his thumb into the skin beneath your ribs. This made you gasp, and he took the chance to slip his tongue into your mouth. You two fought for dominance, but the squeezing of your sides made it hard to fight back. He won and you just let him explore. He was squeezing and prodding both of your sides, making you squirm against him. He released you mouth and went back to your neck, once again kissing and sucking like before, each moan or gasp from you encouraged him.
"Y-Yusuke, I'm sup-posed to treat y-you to lu-nch." He stopped for a moment, keeping heavy eyes contact with you.
"You are far more delectable than any food money could buy."
You ended up forgetting about lunch, and honestly, you didn't care. You would have plenty other opportunities to take him out in the future. Like for anniversary dinners, for example.
Extended ending:
On your way to school the next day you saw Akira, who picked up on the marks you were trying to hide almost immediately.
"Looks like Ryuji owes me ¥2,000." He laughing at your shock.
"You guys made a bet?!" Akira nodded.
"Ryuji bet that Yusuke would be a total sub. Judging from the marks you're trying to hide, he's totally dom." As the train pulled up you punched Akira in the arm.
"Oh my god, shut up! I hate you guys!" He chuckled while the two of you entered the train.

Yusuke x Reader
Take A Deep Breath - Part 1
You had joined the Phantom Thieves a few months ago, around the same time as Makoto. You had met everyone, except Haru, when they all went to confront Kaneshiro. The greedy dirtbag had been keeping you around as a trophy in exchange for money. Your parents lived overseas so you mostly had to take care of yourself. A man had offered you a job, and said he'd take you to his boss to see if he was interested in hiring you. You had been told all you had to do was sit in a lounge and talk to guests. You had thought you were going to be a hostess of some sort. Turned out Kaneshiro just wanted you to be one of his trophy girls. When you tried to quit he blackmailed you into staying. You were in his lounge when the team had confronted him. It broke your heart to see kids your age suffer the same fate you were in. You found them the next day and told them everything you knew about him, and what he had done to you. When the team was in his palace they saw a cognitive version of you, which made them realize they would need your help. You followed them into his palace by accident one day, and awoke to your persona. And now? You were at your house, and you were absolutely fuming. You had let one of your friends stay at you house to get away from a situation she didn't want to be in, and her dad had just taken her back to his house. This man had the audacity to waltz into your home and yell and you for half an hour. You were pissed and you were upset. After he stormed out of the house with your friend, you just collapsed and started crying. You had been telling everyone else in the Phantom group chat about everything as it happened. Once your friend's dad got to you house you had stopped replying. You read through the chats you'd missed while you sat there on the ground crying.
11:12 (Y/n): Guys idk what's happening. I think he's coming here now.
11:13 Ryuji: (y/n) Wait he's coming to your house?!
11:13 Makoto: That doesn't sound good. Should we come to you? Her dad is clearly very angry and I'm worried that he might do something rash...
11:14 Ryuji: Shit, You don't think he'd hurt (y/n) do you!?!
11:14 Yusuke: That's a definite possibility, one that I don't want to worry about. (Y/n), where do you live? I want to come there.
11:15 Haru: That's a good idea. I can come too, if that would help?
11:16 Ryuji: (y/n)?? Where did you go? Are you ok???
11:17 Yusuke: I don't like this. (Y/n), I don't care what, just say something to let us know you're okay.
11:17 Akira: Does anyone know her address?
11:20 Futaba: I've been looking for it and I just found it. It looks like she's about 25 minutes from Yusuke's dorm. The only other person who's kinda close is Makoto. She's about 35 minutes away. (Y/n) is by a lil cafe called Belle on Shinjiku street
11:21 Yusuke: I going there right now. I don't like that she isn't answering.
11:22 Akira: Everyone stop talking so he doesn't need to deal with his phone going off while he goes there.
11:48 (Y/n): im so sorry.
11:48 Ryuji: ARE U OKAY????? IS YUSUKE THERE??? WHAT HAPPENED?
While you were typing there was a knock at you door. You nervously looked out the window by the door, worried that your friend's dad had come back. It was Yusuke. You awkwardly opened the door, rubbing your eyes to get rid of the tears that continued streaming down your face.
"Yusuke, I'm fine. You didn't need to come here." He was panting, you noticed. He had ran here.
"You are most certainly not fine. Of course I had to come. We were all worried about you." Without another word he pulled you into a hug, engulfing you in his warmth. You tightly gripped his shirt and started sobbing. Wordlessly, Yusuke picked you up and carried you inside, closing the door behind him. Honestly, you didn't care where we brought you. You were just glad he was here. Yusuke always brightened you mood and made you feel safe. He had never hugged you before. Honestly it was the best feeling in the world. He ended up sitting on the couch and gently pulled you into his lap.
"I hope this is okay. I don't want to make you uncomfortable." You wrapped you arms around his neck and pulled him closer, you felt him tense, but he didn't object.
"No... no this is okay. This is good. T-thank you. I'm... im so sorry." Yusuke shushed you, gently running his fingers through your hair.
"Why on earth are you sorry? You've done nothing wrong."
You shook your head, burying your face in his neck. The two of you then sat in silence, with Yusuke gently running his fingers through your hair to help calm you.
"Do you wish to talk about what happened? He didn't hurt you did he? I swear if that man touched a single-"
"He didn't hurt me, Yusuke. He just... yelled at me. For a long time. H-he didn't say anything too bad... I just... got overwhelmed. I just tried to help my friend and h-he... got so angry." Yusuke sighed softly.
"As long as he didn't hurt you, I suppose. ... Can I do anything? I want to help, if I can." You took a deep breath, and rubbed the tears from your eyes.
"No, you've done enough. Thank you. Heh, if you hadn't come here I'd probably still be crying. Really, thank you, Yusuke." You awkwardly moved off of his lap, blushing. He was always so kind. Honestly, all of your friends in the Phantom Thieves were. You felt you phone vibrate in your pocket.
11:49 Ryuji: (Y/N)????
11:49 Futaba: Yusuke is at her house
11:50 Ryuji: How do u know?
11:50 Futaba: Tracker
11:51 Ryuji: creepy
11:52 Makoto: Then one of them should answer! I just want to know that they're okay...
11:54 Ann: Oh jeez I just saw all of these! Omg are they okay???? Do you think that guy has a palace??
11:55 Akira: Morgana said that it's unlikely, but he might be in mementos
11:56 Futaba: WHY ARENT THEY ANSWERING?!?! LEAVE IT TO INARI TO NOT ANSWER
11:57 Yusuke: .... You tracked me?
You glanced at Yusuke and laughed slightly. He looked annoyed... it was kinda cute.
11:58 Futaba: INARI LIVES!
11:59 Yusuke: Stop calling me that.
11:59 (Y/n): I'm okay everyone.
12:00 Ryuji: (Y/n) what happened??! That asshole didn't hurt you did he! WE'LL KICK HIS ASS IF HE DID!
12:01 Haru: We've been worried about you two!
You explained what happened, and calm down Makoto and Ryuji, telling the two that there was no reason for them to find your friend's dad. You put your phone down and smiled at Yusuke.
"I'm so grateful to have you guys." He smiled back at you.
"I feel the same. I would still be with Madarame if I hadn't met the group. I'm very glad to be here. I wouldn't have grown at all as an artist if I wasn't."
You nodded slightly.
"Yeah, if it wasn't for you guys I'd still be trapped with Kaneshiro. ... Thank you again or everything you've done. Hey, I don't think we've ever hung out just us two before." Yusuke nodded.
"There is no reason to thank me. And... hmm, I do believe you're right. I'm sorry that this was how it happened, though." You hummed in agreement. You wanted to somehow make it up to Yusuke. He had run all the way to your place, and spent the time to comfort you. Suddenly, an idea hit you.
"Hey, We don't have school tomorrow-"
"Technically today."
"Yeah yeah, okay today. So how about we hang out? I can treat you to lunch!" Yusuke's eyes widened.
"Oh! There is no need for you to treat me-" You placed a finger to his lips and gave him a serious look.
"Yes I do! You've done a lot for me tonight, and you almost never eat well! I want to do this, and we'll be able to hang out!" Yusuke shook his head slightly.
"I couldn't possibly-" You cut him off again, took his hands, and gave him your best puppydog eyes.
"Pleeeaaassse Yuuuusuukkeee!" The bluenette blushed and looked away.
"W-well if you insist." You cheered and wrapped your arms around his neck.
"Yay! I'm so happy you said yes! Plus I'll sleep a little easier for a while, knowing that you actually had a good meal." The blushing boy hesitantly wrapped his arms around your waist, laughing lightly.
"You act as if I never eat." You giggled into his shoulder.
"Whenever we all get food you make it seem like you haven't eaten well." The two of you parted, both smiling brightly. He checked the time and grumbled.
"It's very late. I should go." Looking at the time over his shoulder your smiles dropped.
"Oh crap... it's already after midnight. Yusuke, I can't let you walk home this late. It's not safe at night."
He shook his head. "No, it's quite alright. I wouldn't want to intrude."
You frowned, grabbing his arm as he started to get up.
"You're not intruding, and if something happened to you on your walk home I'd never forgive myself. Can you just stay here for the night?" His face dusted a light pink as he sat back down.
"I suppose you are right. It isn't safe at night, and I wouldn't want to worry you. Are you sure it's okay for me to stay here?" With a crisp nod you rose to your feet.
"Yeah, of course! I've got a spare room, So really don't worry." You took Yusuke's arm to pull him along with you to the room. He took a look around and a faint smile played on his lips. Yusuke gently took your hand in his,
"Well then, goodnight (y/n)." He brushed his lips over your knuckles, then closed the door to go to bed. You quickly headed to your room as your face painted crimson. All he had done was kiss your hand, but it felt like your heart stopped. You hadn't expected him to do that at all, and it had left you very flustered. You plopped onto your bed and buried your face into the pillow, willing your heart to stop racing. Once you finally calmed down, you were able to get some much needed sleep.
