A beautiful large gallery on main street, Higher Art features realism and contemporary work by regional artists. I definitely added a pop of color to the space with these works.

These are transitional paintings where I am working out a lot of challenges in transforming my painting style match my digital work. Getting closer to what I envisioned but still a ways to go. I plan to enter them into competitions and see what happens.

"Break in the Weather at Grand Haven"

A painting that I struggled with this year that was accepted into the Michigan Annual LII | January 25 - February 22, 2025 and sold. Guess it's time to let it go. I am striving to re-create my digital style in oils and it is amazing how tough it can be to make the leap.

Temple of Light"

A 24" x 30" expression of flower power. This is the second large oil painting in my Flower Portrait series to start 2025. Each painting explores a different take on the idea of the floral painting as an expression of rhythm, pattern, and design.

"Afternoon Delight"

My personal "Bolero" in paint. A 30" x 24" oil based on a rose bush we had for many years. This is the first large oil painting in my Flower Portrait series to kick off 2025. It also the launch point for my fine art works to come as I look for galleries to represent me.

TRAVERSE CITY CHERRY FESTIVAL

I have decided to revive an idea I sketched out years ago and apply my recent PIXEL WEATHER style. Cherries firing out of cherry trees and turning into cherry topped clouds that look like scoops of ice cream just seemed like a cool concept. The Blue Angels do perform there each year.

This is designed as both a banner and poster design. I would like to find a way to pitch this to the Traverse City chamber of commerce as a proposed concept for next year.

"Breaking Through at Frankfort"

My first completed traditional painting since February, this is a 16" by 20" acrylic study for a possible larger work next year. I shifted my focus to digital works this year with great success, but now the tides are shifting back to traditional paint.
