Joanna and Frazer’s Wedding Event - Adam’s Peak Country hosting the wedding of the year!

Where do I start with this wedding? This was an event! A magical party. An epic 4 day event, which saw family come from England and all over Australia to share in Joanna and Frazer’s love.

Everywhere you looked there was something different to see. Something colourful. Something cooking. Something landing! Something playful and something you just had to wonder over and see.

And in the middle of this energy ball of the 180 odd guest’s we’re the very happy bride, groom and their gorgeous son Alfie Jim! Talk about a successful day!

When I blog a Hunter Valley wedding, you kind of know it’s going to be great. But there is something about the abilities in which the Adam’s Peak venue has, that just continues to excel forward. A venue that continuously updates and ‘add's' assets too. With every single couple that get’s married here, a giant operation in the background is run by some really awesome, loving people. The perfect match one would say.

And when you put couples 1st, and love a good party - the rest is history.

Being able to capture this wedding was really a blessing. In fact, I was so glad to be on board as it’s 1 of my biggest weddings shot to date.

Modern Wedding Inspiration from another beautiful Enzo Engagement!

We happen to believe that wedding season is actually all year round—gone are the days when a summer wedding is the only kind! At least not here in the best wine growing location that N.S.W has to offer anyway!

And continuing the year with weddings for all seasons means you get some seriously unique wedding design ideas, story telling images and gorgeous photography at some amazing, well known local venues.

It’s no secret that luscious Hunter Valley grapes on the vines look as amazing on as they do off! Giving a whole new look and feel to the venue, specially in the late afternoon! So much so that you can actually have your wedding reception outside on the deck over looking just a section of what Enzo Weddings has to offer out at Ironbark Hill, in Pokolbin. Letting the views add to the perfect backdrop for any sized winter wedding in the Hunter Valley!

The day came together with planning + textures and styling throughout by the well know Enzo team, and the attention to detail was second to none. Wed by Kez was the official celebrant for the excited couple, and this tuned in awesomely as she warmed the crowd up for what was to be an emotional but fun celebration!

Another reason why this wedding venue just continues to be such a popular spot for guests and families alike is the vendors that keep getting asked back! With his holsters drawn, boots tapping and constant chatting with the guest filled the pockets of silence, Gez kept the vibe alive as soon as he and the cameras rolled in! Adding in pops and vibrants rocking florals by Jade McIntosh Flowers, this day was nothing short of amazing!

With all this, the elopement chapel held cheers for Carly and Josh as the kicked the doors open on what was to be their new, next chapter, cheerings with the 150 guests both on the the grounds and on the dancefloor soon after!

Hidden Wynella Estate Wedding - Shanna + Josh's Wedding

Living in the Hunter and Newcastle for a few years now allows you as a wedding and couples photographer to see many amazing locations, venues and hidden gems - like most places in the world I guess. But this wedding location was a whole new experience for me - one I hadn’t even heard of!

Nestled at the foothills of Mount Bright Lookout, sits this amazing, private estate called Wynella Estate. An amazing homestead built on the property in the 1860’s was the perfect location for Shanna + Josh to exchange vowels and party on into the night - no noise complaints here!

Only possible through family relations, the wedding was moved from another location early into their planning, after Shanna’s Grandparents mentioned the amazing property to them due to it’s family history and close location.

With that all set in place, and typical summer weather on the day, it' was the perfect event out in the Hunter Valley. Set under a gorgeous established Jakaranda tree, the couple met by Jacie Whitfield in front of family and friends. Shanna wore a gorgeous Anna Campbell gown full of textural pearl detailing, which supplemented Josh’s choice of modern style, slim fit blazer.

The area also allowed for gorgeous family photos, and a chance for the couple to get away from all the party action and hit the mountain lookout for photos with a view.

As sun set, their celebration was brought together with some beautiful speeches under the stars, and an open dance floor with festooning to light the way. Slider Burgers by Sprout Catering, local organic wines from Tamburlaine and live music by Roller Girl, built the atmosphere where a mother daughter dance took place, and family got into the wedding spirt vibes with beers in hand!

This wedding had all the hallmarks of location, location, location! Such an amazing spot to host a magical wedding event. It was a great reminder that every wedding is amazing, and to plan a party and the rest will fall into place!

Newcastle Engagement Shoot - Backstreets and a million Laughs

This pre wedding photoshoot of Elise + Damon was tee’d up after they dropped their gorgeous little girls off at their Grandad’s house, before cruising up north to the sleek backstreets of Newcastle. A perfect location hand picked to beat the crowds, melt some ice and feel great in eachother’s arms - not to mention the laughs. 

And the best part - we didn’t have to worry about yelling out ‘Car!’ when crossing roads!

This shoot was their prep into the upcoming wedding at the Wallis Lakehouse, in Woota - a must see spot for couples looking to escape it all, but party on into the night. 

Personal journeys like this shoot bring out the best in each other as you both find the comfort zone. And the Hunter Valley and Newcastle backstreets really do offer up amazing photography opportunities for modern couples to prep fro their wedding day.

Focusing more on the energy rather than the technical. This year Ive broken my 'brand loyalty' in all things photography, buying broken lens, swapping digital for film and taking a backseat on the newest, best and most expensive. If you know me, you'll know its not about the brand you shoot or the computer you edit on. Yes, that does help a workflow, but the process is always organic, natural and time consuming.
