It's Been Awhile!

I know, it's been quite some time since we've updated anything.

Here's what's going on:

Unfortunately, I'm unable to continue to afford the webspace we use for this podcast. So, we're currently in the process of moving until we can figure out how to proceed in a more permanent manner. We'll keep you updated on any movement, and make sure that you'll always be able to find our podcast, no matter what!

We're planning on returning when Once does! Should we be unable to get a feed going for iTunes and Google Play, we will be posting the episodes on Social Media. We want you to listen!

Story Spotlight - The Ugly Truth

Sorry about the delay. The holiday got to me! So, this week you'll be getting two!

Today's story is another personal favorite of mine: The Ugly Truth

It's an awesome AU, about a perfectionist TV producer. Based on a Rom Com by the same name, (that I didn't even know existed until I read this, so thanks! I am always looking for Rom Coms to binge watch!) it's a fun read, and of course Captain Swan seems to fit perfectly in this universe!

CHANGELING

A changeling is a child that is believed to be a fairy child that has been left in place of a human child stolen by fairies. Human babies could be taken for many reasons: to replace an ailing or unattractive fairy child; to gain strength from the human mother’s milk;  for the fairy folk to feed on the baby. Some versions suggest that fairies loved human babies and thought them beautiful, so they would steal the pretties, most good-natured babies, replacing it with a more troublesome fairy baby.

Signs that the fairies had replaced with a human child with a changeling includes: incessant crying and refusing to settle; unusual facial features or curiously distorted limbs; constant feeding at the mother’s breast, without ever seeming satisfied, and the ability to speak despite only being a few days old. Changelings were thought to be responsible for much of the ill-fortune for the poor “host” family -- their presence would cause fresh milk to curdle, and illness to plague the household.

There were various methods of revealing and even returning Changelings. If the baby’s mother suspected she was a host to a Changelings, she could try to trick it into revealing itself. Having revealed itself, it would flee back to its own kind and the stolen baby would be returned.  It’s said that a Changeling could be exposed by holding the baby over a hot stove on an iron spade, or holding it underwater.
