I need to get this of my chest
There are now laws in place for the lgbtq+ their are places you can go for help as an lqbtq+ there are company's that support lqbtq+ which is great i'm not against the lqbtq+ community but we as a people need to start putting more focus on the helpless kids of this country the kids who are in the foster system ,the orphans ,children who are raped .As a country their is so much focus right now on the lgbtq+ but we are not focusing on the kids the amount of horror stories people that come out of the foster system have to say is horrid .There are countless papers saying how the governments funding for the welfare field is lacking .We need to put more effort into the children of this country no child should be left helpless the moment they turn 18 with no money no housing .Around 26000 former foster kids are no longer being cared for by the foster system due to their age .These kids are left helpless and we have not put anything in place to help them .We need to also be checking and doing background checks on foster parents the amount of people that foster only for a check is disgusting and it affects the child they foster for years .These children are helpless they have no say in what happens they are left subjected to the people in goverment, the people in charge of foster homes and us .We are able to help the children we have seen it with the lqbtq+ we need to stand up for the rights of people who can not voice it the innocent children who don't get a say in their lives we have power and we can help the children who don't feel like they have power .Children should not be left homeless and 18 .It’s unforgivable to steal the youth away from kids.
This is the statistics now but we can change that.
By the time former foster youth turn 24, they are less likely than their peers to be employed, and they earn less money overall.
Compared to their peers, former foster youth are more likely to end up in prison.
One in five former foster youth nationwide are homeless at 18.
Seventy percent of female former foster youth are pregnant before their 21st birthday.
Under 3 percent of all former foster youth go on to obtain a college degree eventually.
We need to fight for the youth.
