My first attempt at a #diptych. I got the idea from a photo frame in my living room, in it are two analog photographs beside each other. Just like this picture, one side shows a beautiful green mountainside while the other side shows the vast bare dunes of a desert. I like to see it as the best of both worlds, two landscape settings that always captivate me. I love the lush green vegetation covering the mountain side, and a background of blue sky and clouds. Prague: A beautiful European city that encompasses so much art and culture. I thought it would only be appropriate to pack my analog cameras when I took a trip there in the fall of 2016. Unfotrunately, probably due to all the excitement, I left all my stock in the fridge. I would have wanted to take more, but I had to make do with the rolls I had left in the cameras. I can't believe I never posted this one to Instagram. This one is of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque from a trip to Oman in 2014 that I recently edited. It's actually a handful of pictures composited into one larger image. I stumbled on it after going through my entire collection of photographs from the past 4 years. I'm suffering from a severe creative block, so I've been going through all my pictures looking for inspiration and things I could improve on. I've reached a point where I'm completely bored of photography, but I don't want to give it a break, but I also can't figure out what to do next. I get bored of landscape photography sometimes. Seeing the same old scenery that's been photographed hundreds and thousands of times before doesn't leave me satisfied. I prefer to photograph life, it's a lot more interesting and constantly changing. Are these guys in the middle of dismantling the scaffolding, or putting it together? One of my highlights from 2017 was having to pleasure of taking photos at @katharina.staehler and @chryherm's wedding. It gave me a chance to take on a new challenge and try something completely different. It took a while to prepare and really get to know my equipment and what to do in different situations. I also got a chance to try out some candid portraiture with the Sigma 105mm 2.8. I thought my first take pulling out a roll of 120 would be different. I was given a bag of old cameras and decided to dig in and take a look at the first camera I pulled out 🤔. I've been looking all afternoon but I couldn't get any information on the manufacturer, or even the model, all I know is it's French and it still had a (mostly unused but now probably unusable 😑) roll of 120 in it! I've been wanting to start a small series on antique cameras seeing as I have a steadily growing collection, and a lot are mostly unheard of. In future I'll be more prepared for surprises and ready to document them.
