I went to a karaoke night. I embarrassed myself, laughed out loud and recorded two people singing.

I was shy, yes. I was also anxious, afraid of singing in front of a crowd of strangers. But I did it, with the help of my friends. And I have to be honest: we didn’t sing well, but that’s okay.

But we embarrassed ourselves together. We laughed. We sang with other strangers.

And for a moment I remembered what was the whole point: to be just a twenty-something girl at the bar with her friends, to feel lighter like a heather, and small like a blade of grass.

Tonight I learned something truly important: that anything can be less heavier if you have someone to laugh out loud with.

And this is all what matters.

Be my mirror,

my sword and shield,

My missionaries in a foreign field.

i find it so unfair that i cant do all the science. like what do you MEAN I can't study bio and chem and biochem and atrophysics and physics and geology and climate science. what do you MEAN i have a limited lifespan and need to get out of school at some point to get a job. i want to collect the science fields like pokemon, this isn't fair
