Quick maids for maid day. The left hates to do housework, but does know how to do it and will put in about 60% effort before skipping off to read books in the library. Right has a good attitude and will serve with a smile, but grew up wealthy and doesn't know how to do chores well.

The maid I hired from the French maid service doesn't do any housework, he just sleeps all day... it's okay since he's so cute.

Tested out some gold leaf on this fine looking fellow. For some reason most of my traditional paintings have ended up being unicorns of late, I think I need the whimsy in my life.
He's available as a little print here if you want him on your desk or wall 🌞🌙✨

More studying with watercolors, painted some mussels shells this time as they're fun to do. I think the background is a bit much but consider this a good practice nonetheless

Finished my base design for my Hunter OC, Fand. She's known as the Fomóir, wielding strange nature-based abilities. Her body is covered in fine white down. Her design is based on the female drinker moth (Euthrix potatoria) & avant-garde 1920s party wear. She was born in Scotland to Irish parents, likes pears, and sits on the roof playing her rotta (a type of lyre) in her spare time.
#idv ocs#idv oc#identity v oc#she's an Andrew Kreiss kisser btw the most ardent desire of her undying heart is to lie in a nest of pillows with him and watch him sleep

No Valentines skins this year, so I will feed myself. Wick is the best part of either of these, hands down. I love that little dog.

Practicing gouache again. I think it's kicking my ass slightly less these days. A mutual made a new goatsona, so I was inspired to do a goat-type unicorn. I think I prefer this style over horse unicorns.

AndFand embracing. Almost done with my ref for my Hunter OC, Fand. She's a strange and sometimes frivolous creature but her love runs deep and true when she finds somebody to share it with. And she thinks a certain Gravekeeper is the perfect candidate.
#idv oc#oc x canon#artistic nudity#fanart#they are in love. they kiss. she trips the other Hunter in Duos if they tunnel him.

What about Photographer in Identity V? Is his design accurate to the aristocratic clothing style during the French Revolution?
Yes, he's a very accurate take on a French male aristocrat in the 1780s-90s. Such clothes were also popular among the aristocracy in other countries as well, but France was then known as the trendsetter in fashion. His hair/ wig is a little more streamlined than the styles commonly worn by men at that time to be more aesthetically appealing to players, but looking at fashion plates, portraiture, and surviving garments he's an almost 1:1 recreation on some extant clothes from the period. It looks like the blue and gold combo was extremely popular among wealthy men in the eighteenth century.
Petty side note, but it really bugs me when people claim he's gnc based on his clothes and hair when he literally looks like what a man of his class was expected to look like. It's like saying wearing a kilt makes a Scotsman gnc. If anything, the way Joseph dresses shows that he conforms really closely to a standard appearance from his time period and is another sign of his inability to let go of the past and move on. The actually gnc characters are Melly, Emma, and Eli imo. Even Annie prefers to wear men's shoes as a small sign of rebellion against her father's expectations that she'll be hyperfeminine, docile etc.

I’d like to know your opinion on Fire Investigator’s design in Identity V since the game takes place during the 1890s and his clothes are moreso 1920s inspired if I remember correctly? What’s your viewpoint on his design? I saw your old posts where you made different survivors’ outfits historically accurate, so I’d like to know your view!
Looking at some old photos and illustrations, his design is a bit of a patchwork of eras. I think his coat has some elements of the late Victorian uniform in that it's the right color scheme and length. It looks like most firefighters from the late 19th century wore double-breasted blue coats that varied from hip to knee length with gold or silver buttons, as well as a badge on the left side of the chest. The most inaccurate parts of his design are his gear, leg wear, and his hat.
With the gear, IDV plays really fast and loose with tech developments, like Ada driving a modern-looking car in some scenes, semi-sentient robots etc, so that I think comes with the territory.
The hat really stands out though but I understand (but regret) that the design they went with is much more aesthetically pleasing than the very doofy headwear Victorian firefighters did wear. It does look like that helmet type was being used in the 1920s in the United States.
The leg wear is something real United States firefighters used in the 1970s, but that's way off from the timeline.
I do think that the designers like to refer to the 1920s a lot when it comes to their designs. Helena's general outfit with the cloche hat and loose fit, Margaretha being an almost one-to-one recreation of actress Lina Basquet, and Evelyn's clothes resembling something from a 1920s winter fashion plate are the ones that come to mind immediately.
So I guess he's semi-accurate? Like a lot of designs in the game he has a medley of elements from different historical eras. I do think some parts of his design read a little too modern and that he could still pop even with slightly more accurate leg coverings/spats. I personally would enjoy him with the stupid little helmet that would have been used irl in the 1890s because I think the Survivors can look a little goofy anyways so it's fun to lean into that.
