I usually leave my writing til the last thing on my list of things to do each day and it ends up getting overlooked. This morning it’s the first thing I’m doing so it’s actually getting done.

I know I’m going to need to start getting rejected so my goal is to have a few stories done by summer and start trying to get published.

I just started a new short story and the only explanation I have for it is: this is me torturing myself

Thinking about writing a story that is about the relevance of time but that may be too high brow for me. Maybe it can be an underlying theme.

I’ve been reading and writing a lot this week but today it has been harder to find the motivation to write. I am almost done with my first draft of my novel. I only have a few chapters left to write and I’ve already written more chapters than I had originally planned. I am hoping to finish the first draft this weekend or by the beginning of next week.

Maybe reading more will help me find the inspiration I need?

Life asked me if I wanted to become a completely different person. I said yes and took a chance.

I had a long conversation with my husband this morning on reading and how it influences your writing. He was convinced you shouldn’t read too much because it influences your story too much and your writing should be pure. He talked about Stephen King and said he didn’t get his ideas from other books. I pulled out this quote to show him, it is incredibly important for writers to also be readers.
