Ok .. so .. I haven’t always been the biggest fan of drinking water.

Often at work, I used to go up to 5 hours a day without even taking a sip.. why?? because quite honestly I would just forget! I’d become so engrossed in my work, that I would simply forget, same way you know you’re meant to be taking a break from your computer every 15 minutes, but you simply don’t! Some days my only intake of water for up to 5 hours would quite literally be being a tea in the morning!

I often found myself feeling light headed, achy and tired by the end of the day. I also found myself prone to dry skin and more prone to spots on my forehead.

Whilst I told myself I would remember to take a bottle of water to work the next day, I always found myself forgetting or falling back into the same forgetful routine..

This is where Love Island has transformed my skin and helped me change my ways ! Being a massive fan of the show, I tried to get one of their infamous water bottles last year but they sold out. This year I was fortune enough to get my hands on one and I haven’t looked back since!

We’ve had an indian summer this year and with crazing temperatures reaching highs of up to 35 degrees, keeping hydrated is so important and this bottle goes everywhere with me ! I recently took a trip out to LA, it was an 11.5 hour flight and normally when I fly, I drink very little on the plane as I simply can’t bare the thought of plane water. This time I purchased bottled water after check in and I refilled my own bottle on the plane taking sips throughout the flight and I felt so much better for it! It even came out with me on a hike to the Runyon Canyon!!

I find sipping a drink with water encourages me to drink more than I would with a usual bottle screw cap. This bottle makes for easy sipping and I find myself taking the time to refill throughout the day. The effects drinking more water has had on me have been life changing... I feel more alert, my skin looks more fresh and awake and i’m less prone to spots.

Of course there are cheaper alternatives to this bottle out there everywhere, but for me I struggled to find a water bottle that didn't leak. This one fits the bill perfectly!

- Integrated straw encourages drinking more water...really!

- Easy to clean, top and bottom of the bottle has a twist on and off

- Great size!

- Most great of all ... it doesn’t leak like I have often found with other bottles!

- The price - a little steep at £15 plus £5 for postage and packaging!

- Have to wait 10 working days!

July Splurges🤗

So .. a couple of weekends ago, I went on a make up splurge!!

Being a massive fan of having a glowy bright faced complexion, I have accumulated lots of highlighting products over time. Recently there has been a massive hype about Charlotte Tilbury’s latest offerings of the Hollywood Flawless Filter and the Hollywood Beauty Light Wand Highlighter .. so I just had to try it and know I must say I’m totally converted !

I can’t get enough of these products and I quite often finding myself becoming a walking talking sales representative for the brands, turning friends, family and anyone who will listen into converts too!!

Hollywood Flawless Filter in 5 Tan

My first impressions and what I really like about the Charlotte Tilbury range is her pretty packaging and the rose gold, so I expected nothing less when I got these products. 

How I used it: 

This can be used in lots of different ways but I like it most when I mix a little in with my regular foundation and it gives that simple yet subtle glow through your foundation. For an even lighter look I will just wear it on its own.

Price point: £30

Would I buy again?

Yes. I find a little goes a long way so I feel this will last me a while, but I would definitely buy again.

Hollywood beauty light wand easy highlighter

How I used it:

I apply this over the cheek bone area in a sweeping motion. I love the champagne dewiness look of this highlighter. It doesn’t feel sticky or look wet, it gives a fresh lit up look to the face. Its really easy to apply as it has a sponge easy applicator and a twist open and close top.

Price point: £29

Would I buy again?

Whilst it is over priced for being such a tiny product with very little product, I do feel a little goes a long way and it’s something I would use for those extra special occasions rather than everyday. I think there are a lot of cheaper alternatives on the market that do the same, so sadly it’s not a product I would run out to buy again.

The key to my heart🗝

A cheesy margherita pizza, a scary movie, the warmth of a blanket (whatever the weather outside) on the sofa with a cup of English breakfast tea. The warmth of a skinny latte from Costa coffee on my short walk into the office, my mobile phone, my obsession for taking photographs of anything and everything, Dishoom, face masks, glowy highlighted skin, gel nails, my comfy converse, my ever growing make up collection, handbags and coloured shoes! A love for accumulating stationary, What’s in my bag videos, TOWIE, The Kardashians and Love Island! (Btw .. what am I going to do now it’s finished !!)

Typically every month, I splurge on my passions; beauty product after beauty product, skincare, makeup, fashion and lifestyle. I craze over every new beauty product on the market and I AM that person that buys into the gimmicks and I want to try everything. Owning pretty much every beauty product on the market and spending hours a day on Instagram, You Tube and reading every magazine to hit the newsstands every Tuesday, I, AM every Retailer’s dream!!! 

And....... that’s why I find myself in the best position ever to give my honest reviews about the things I’ve tried and to share them with those who want to know !

Glow✨

Charlotte Tilbury is one of my many many favourite brands and I love how she's all about the ‘golden goddess’ look!

For me the dewy glowy look has always been a favourite of mine for years.

Summer for me is all about the glow!

Being that of Indian origin and having that already medium tan complexion, I feel our skin can sometimes look dull, but with the right products, with the right skincare routines, dull skin can be brought back to life.

I love that the market has grown so much over the past couple of years and that it accommodates every type of skin type and every skin tone, as well as there being a range of price points to suit every pocket!

Me

For years, I have done the daily grind.. the commute into London, the stressful tube journeys, endured the delays, listened to the announcements about the cancelled and broken down trains.

I, AM that person that leaves the house earlier each day in the hopes of that day being my ‘lucky day’ where I stand in the ‘right spot on the platform’, seeing the same familiar faces of the same daily commuters who are all there hopeful that when the train draws to a stop and the carriage doors eventually open, they can push and made a mad dash for that one seat in that already over crowded train of six carriages that pulls into the platform.

I, AM working the City life. I, AM one of hundreds of thousands of people living this life .. I, AM a small fish in a large pond, and I, like those many people am looking for MY something more. 

Writing about my passions comes so easy to me so this platform has now become my go to haven😇

PERHAPS, this is it, perhaps, I have found my something more.
