People are still talking about KPOP DEMON HUNTERS!! As they should! I was a guest on NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour to discuss why it's been such a success. It boils down to an interesting plot, amazing songs, a great voice cast (including Korean American actress Arden Cho) and the respectful inclusion of Korean culture in this American film. Have you seen it yet?

Emmy-nominated actress Shannon Purser is best known for her work in “Stranger Things” and “Riverdale.” But she’s also a talented musician who pens contemplative songs like her latest, “Leave (Good Ending).” More recently, she was part of the cast of the stage production “La Cage Aux Folles.” “I had the best time,” said Purser, 28. “It was my first experience doing professional theater and I’m desperate to do it again. That show was up at the Pasadena Playhouse, which is a beautiful historic theater.”

JAE: Where was your first professional gig as ATEEZ? HONGJOONG: It’s hard to believe it’s already been nearly seven years. Our very first stage performance as ATEEZ was in Seoul, and I still remember the mix of nerves and excitement we felt. Not many people were there compared to now, but those few fans meant everything to us. There’s even a clip of me worrying about whether anyone would come. Fans still share it. Every time I see it, I’m taken right back to that moment. The hunger and passion we had on that first stage is still with us today.

2025 isn’t over yet, but it’s already been an exciting year for some of the best K-dramas. ThoughSquid Game has come to an end (for now) that doesn’t mean there aren’t still plenty of Korean dramas to obsess over. (Have you seen When Life Gives You Tangerines?)
The selections below tackle a variety of relevant topics (even if they’re not wholly relatable), including high school bullying, revenge, and the kind of poverty that leads citizens to despair. And no one does slice-of-life shows like Korean creatives, who present everyday life in such a compelling way that serves as a reminder that sometimes the most ordinary action can also be the most profound.

Liam Gallagher is pushing 53 and certainly old enough to know that chingchong is not a compliment. Between his doubling down (before finally giving a ‘sorry if you were offended’ apology) and his fanboys flipping & flopping between excuses — it isn’t a slur; only the Chinese should be offended; stop being so sensitive, bla bla bla — it’s just further proof that no one really gives a fuck about Asians.

It's hot as hades out and I wanted to write something that readers might find delightful. Actually, I didn't write this so much as I compiled some videos of my favorite actors (and singers) singing, dancing and being...well...delightful! This is easy and breezy to look over. I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks to her thriving stand-up career, comedian Atsuko Okatsuka has traveled around the world, sometimes with her family … on her honeymoon.
“Our honeymoon trip to Taiwan – I brought my mom, grandma, dad and my stepmom,” she said in an interview from her Los Angeles home. “[I brought my husband] Ryan to a small village where I had extended relatives I never met before. He was the first white person they’d ever seen, so the whole village lined up to meet him, touch him, talk to him, take pictures with him. These [memories] ended up in my special, ‘Atsuko Okatsuka: Father’ [on Hulu].”

The VIPs are back in this final season of "Squid Game 3" and they're as insufferable as ever. Acting wise, the characters may actually be worse, sounding more like Sylvestor the Cat exclaiming sufferin’ succotash than a group of hedonistic oligarchs.
At this point, I have to wonder if show creator Hwang Dong-hyuk isn't trolling us. Because, as evidenced by the Academy Award winner they cast in a surprise cameo, clearly they have enough money now to pay for capable foreign actors!

The end has finally arrived. "Squid Game" season 3 debuted on Netflix on June 27 and managed to tie up just about every narrative loose end — and perfectly set up a potential future spinoff with a surprise cameo appearance from a major Hollywood star.
Warning: The actors who play the VIPs are just as horrible as ever!
