AHHHHH LARIAN WTF (I think this is goodbye 😭)

I wrote out a really long rant but ugh whatever. I don't want to start a conflict. I quit playing after Patch 7 but I recently reinstalled it and since then I've spent hours and hours trying to get it to work, then to roll back to patch 6 (which took even more hours to re-install AGAIN) and tried to get that to work, unsuccessfully. Patch 6 was perfect, I absolutely adored it, I had the perfect characters/mods, and... I don't got it in me to start over. Plus a lot of my favourite modders deleted their stuff and left and I just... I think maybe its goodbye. The community feels different, the game feels different... I just hate how hard it is to let something go that was such a big part of your life.

That said, I have to finish writing these characters' stories so maybe its for the best to abandon the game itself and focus on my blorbos. I have quite a bit worked out, I'm just not sure how to share it yet. But I love these guys and want to explore their world/stories way more.

Anyway, I'm feeling nostalgic now. I've been playing this game since very early access, but unfortunately back then I didn't really take screenshots. I took a few later on in development, and most importantly I have a couple saved earlier Gales! 🤣 Gale's development was so funny, I swear they changed him like every 6 months lol, and then when we got the "earring/pirate version" it was so scandalous, ahh good times. This game has been such a blast.

How my bounty hunting job started vs how its going

Took Gunsmoke to Saint Denis the other day (usually I take Flamingo my Andalusian), and today we're bounty hunters! I was going to use Howl (blue roan Criollo) because he's my bravest horse, but Gunsmoke is untested, so I thought it'd be interesting to see how he did. He's weirdly unfazed when getting shot, followed me into gunfire in camp (I could hear some nervous grumbling behind me but he never ran away), and is very very fast. I don't think he has many brain cells, but that's probably for the best lol. So he's my new bounty hunting horse!

WELL I started the story... I won't say much more than that, as I am not having a good time. But there are a few things I've liked so far, so let's focus on those!

My starter horse is adorable!

(Random side encounter) Deborah MacGuiness, paleontologist! Also nice to see a woman in an actual career/profession (or literally doing anything besides housework/prostitution).

(Random side encounter) This lady’s horse died, which was only amusing to me because I had JUST tamed a wild horse before I met her, and he followed us around the entire time. I wish I could have given her this guy, he's a good boy.

I've got a few more mods this time (nothing major, although I hope the polyromance mod works...). Mostly I just want to keep a few people alive to the end this time, explore all the things I missed previously, etc.
