⋆* –♕; greek myth / modern aphrodite ▸ imagined in summer pastels ❜
sometimes she returns to the sea, even now. in the passenger side of lovers’ cars or gazing from the balconies of bright motels, she watches the beach grass sway and the waves roll to the shoreline in cycle. you’ll find her at the boardwalk waiting to be kissed at the the peak of the ferris wheel, or beneath canted umbrellas, tilting her shades down the bridge of her nose as someone just as lovely passes by. the world may change -- but she does not.

@camphalfbloodnetwork’s quest 8: gods and goddesses → h e r m e s
Hermes gazed up at the stars. “My dear young cousin, if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the eons, it’s that you can’t give up on your family, no matter how tempting they make it. It doesn’t matter if they hate you, or embarrass you, or simply don’t appreciate your genius for inventing the Internet-” “You invented the Internet?” It was my idea, Martha said. Rats are delicious, George said. “It was my idea!” Hermes said. “I mean the Internet, not the rats.”

Greek Myth:            Selene
Selene was a Titan goddess in Greek mythology, daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia. She had two siblings, Helios and Eos. She was the goddess of the moon, which she drove every night across the skies. Selene was linked to Artemis as well as Hecate; all three were considered lunar goddesses.
