It's a small thing, but after getting Lynette to actually participate in some of the things Corny finds enjoyable the two start to realize the have more in common than they thought.

One being a mutual love of horror movies. Something Lynette had never seen before!

Corny's not a crazy active music listener, most of the stuff he likes is just music he has heard offhandidly from his mother or on the radio.

It's helpful to drown out the ghosts and voices if they get particularly loud though!

They hold a cultural significance, along with their robes, and honor the inspiration for their grand magical project. The greatest wizard in history, Mergandor.

Kaspar, being the Grimm Reaper, has many spirits. Bound within the enchantments of his cloak and scythe. However, there is only one spirit bound to the man directly.

The Mortem steward to the reaper.

The Mortem are old spirits, ANCIENT spirits, of pure magic that tend to the garden of life in a vain attempt to prevent cosmic cataclysm. Their ambassador to the mortal realm is the grimm reaper. A mortal able to walk amongst the spirits they blessed with extraordinary power.

The Steward is a key part of this arrangement. Acting as council and a reminder of duty to the reaper. As well as a messenger between them and the rest of the Mortem society.

Kaspar and the Steward have a very close and warm, if understated, relationship with each other. The Steward has seen all of Kaspar's mistakes, and Kaspar knows he can turn to them for help if he needs to. They've been by the side of the last four reaper's and are loyal to the core.

Bia's father, Warner, is a rapidly rising star in the artifice guild of the wizarding society he is a part of. Remarkably young for his skill and position (only 500 years old!!) Warner's relentless positive and fired attitude has made him a bit of a celebrity!

Warner is a huge proponent of bonding with spirits is a more worthwhile method of magical practice than contracts. Making the choice to work with only a single spirit on his journey. He and his spirit have been together for centuries and are the closest of friends!

Lynette has no spirit(s) she's made a pact with. Instead she's chosen to walk the difficult path of generating magic completely autonomously with her own soul.

It's an inherent handicap for her but she'd rather die than have to rely on a spirit for prowess.

Despite this gimping of herself, Lynette is well above the level expected of a witch her age. Her peculiar practice has also led to her being highly adept at the art golemancy/necromancy. Magical skills driven primarily by one's own soul.
